If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. Service is quite good which brings the score up. Ambiance is also pretty great and I love how convenient it is in the point. However the food was really mediocre and hit or miss. We got multiple entrees and I tried some of other people's. The bad: -The Chinese chicken salad was weird, I've never had anything like it but would NOT get it again. The ingredients a bit obscure which is fine but the dressing was unappetizing. -Adding "steak" to a salad- the "steak" that was added to our salad looked like chewed up dog food. Weird chunks that was so gross and chewy. I've had better steak at chipotle or any other establishment. They should really remove this option. MEH: -Salmon- salmon was cooked fine. I escaped LAX during a layover (before the red eye home!) to enjoy my favorite meal at TFK. This is a chain so I've been to these before but this one is a standout. The servers and staff really fo above and beyond to be warm and welcoming. My go to meal is the season soup, the kale salad with no cheese add salmon and occasionally I order the fries. Now the food DAMN it was delicious I ordered the kale salad with grilled salmon and it definitely hit. Good portions. Everything is made fresh to order. There are many options or substitutions that can be made too for special diet needs or restrictions. There are plenty of drink or specialized spritzers and non-soda(s) as they do not sell. The food and drinks come out timely. The service is great and the servers make their own drinks, there is no one bar tender or bar-back. Again the food is on the healthier side no grease, sat/fats or transfats. Came her for two reasons: Restaurant Week and heard a lot about this place as one of the few that doesn't cut corners and gives you food made in house with healthier options and ethicallly sourced. Hard to do in this day age. Location: On PCH and Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach in the North Point shopping center. Food:Edamame dumplings were surprisingly tasty without drowning in oils or bland. Wasn't a fan of the mush interior, but I couldn't expect much from beans. Jumbalaya pasta with sausage. This was spicy with a slight kick, but not enough to make me stop eating it. This was a big plate although it didn't look it and I ended up taking the other 1/2 of it home with me. The flourless chocolate cake. I wouldn't call this a cake so much as a brownie with a dollop of ice cream on top. The cake was so thick and fudgey, I kept looking at it to make sure it was a cake and not substituted with something else on the menu. Still, good and satisfied my sweet tooth. Summary: This is a fusion American interpretive cuisine kind of plalce so don't expect authentic anything with the non-American dishes. What you can expect is house made and ethically sourced ingredients made to order, not frozen (I hope). Everything is light in oil and not as greasy as most places. Does that take away from the flavor? No, not reallly, just healthier. The service was excellent and they will gladly make substitutions for your allergies and preferences. The ambiance is bright, airy with plenty of space. And, yes, they do serve alcohol including their own cocktails. If you're used to heavy oils ,salt, grease and dishes drowning in butter, you won't find that here and others may think these dishes are tasteless. But for those who still want to go out, but not feel too guilty about doing so, this is your place. Is it pricey? The Baseline: For an eclectic dining experience, the food offerings must be of quality for the variety offered, the seasoning/flavors must be special, the side dish offering must make sense with the other items, and the menu must be manageable. Food: Used the August 2025 brunch menu and had some new things. Ranchers Hash was good- great steak, great sauce, good veggies, and sweet potatoes was the base starch. I ended up wanting regular potatoes over the sweet potatoes (and I understand the sweet potatoes are the healthier option), but I will chalk that up to personal preference. Farmer's Market Scramble was also good but it suffered from the sweet potatoes verses potato battle with my group (potato wins for preference). The scrabbled eggs were silky, smooth and delicious and the cheddar added to the dish. The Lemon Blueberry Muffins were awesome and were a great ender desert for the meal. I also had an Iced Shakerato which was a great mid-afternoon coffee fix. Service: We had a good waiter and was attentive. All water glasses were kept full once we got them. I used to love coming to True Food Kitchen at The Point, but my brunch experience today was completely unacceptable and entirely devoid of basic hospitality. First, they have severely stripped down their menu options and only offer whole milk or almond milk now--gone are the high-quality alternatives like hemp. When I tried to order a hot matcha latte, the server actually told me to walk to a neighboring restaurant to fetch my own milk! I walked all the way over to North Italia, graciously got a cup of oat milk, and brought it back. I explicitly ordered my matcha HOT (I never drink cold drinks). After a 15-minute wait, the server brought me an ICED matcha, completely wasting the oat milk I had gone out of my way to get.To make matters worse, the manager came over to bring a replacement and proceeded to lecture and reprimand me. I was told they "don't offer this," that this was the "last time they'd do this for me," and that I should "never ask for oat milk again." I was treated like a misbehaving child for a mistake their own staff made. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The eggs and sweet potato dish barely had any actual eggs in it, and the pancakes were completely soggy and gross. I went inside to speak to the manager because the entire situation was incredibly uncomfortable and the service was hostile. While my friend paid for her portion, I felt I shouldn't have had to pay for mine given the treatment--but I paid anyway just to leave. True Food Kitchen has completely lost its standard of customer service. I will not be returning! read more

Took a little longer than I expected to come- seeing as to how we were pretty much the only ones here on a Tuesday night. I love that everything on the menu is healthy and fresh, but I just expected more flavor and pizzazz. Surrounding restaurant was popping, which said a lot. And this was after waiting for 15 minutes! I mean, there was nobody in the restaurant minus a few customers. We ordered a side of blueberry pancakes , avocado toast and a scramble. Food was equally disappointing. The scramble had mainly just eggs and sweet potatoes and they call it a scramble?! No flavor. Didn't even have more than two bites. Waitress didn't even asked why. I tried to flag down to get some hot sauce or ketchup to add some flavor, but that was to no avail. I took it home and made a true scramble with ingredients I had in my fridge! I'm torn, but still giving True Food 4 stars from past experiences. Preface: I think you'll enjoy the food a lot more eating in person vs takeout. I really like this spot because of the quality of food and ingredients you are getting, but in my opinion some of their menu items are definitely over-priced and the teriyaki bowl I ordered the chicken was dry and overcooked. 6$ for a small side of underwhelming sweet potato chips I could have purchased x5 the amount in sweet potatoes at the store and made them myself - assuming it's priced this way with labor/operating costs though so keeping that in mind. Employees were super friendly and helpful sending me on my way with my takeout order and the restaurant is a cute in person lunch spot in The Point with indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the chicken parm not realizing it came with pasta, once I tried it, the pasta was super light and flavorful. I ended up finishing the entire plate, it was that good! As well as for the burger it was really juicy. A must try is the Margherita handmade pizza, you can really taste the difference! It was my favorite thing from here so far. Not only that but when I ate it, it didn't make me feel heavy, it was super light as well and it wasn't oily. It was just perfect. Joey, our server, was amazing. Our server greeted us, introduced the specials available, and patiently answered questions about ingredients to which I am allergic. He check-in regularly and ensured that each entree was just right. To start we had the guacamole (no cherry tomatoes) with flatbread crisps. It was salted well and tangy, pairing nicely with the peppers. I ordered the spicy Panang curry bowl with blackened shrimp and my friend had the lasagna al pesto. The curry had an enjoyable spice-level and was complimented by the sweet potato and bok choy. I would have preferred more black rice and a firmer sear on the shrimp, as I requested them blackened. The lasagna was reportedly fair but not an order my friend wanted to repeat. Have had good lunch experiences. Recently tried to have dinner there arrived 1.5 hours before closing) and it was a complete fail. Everyone nice but not up to the job. They took our number to wait, we were never called, and then host was surprised when we asked about it. 15 min later. He then seated us near several occupied tables but the server waited other tables and never even made eye contact with us. After ten minutes of waiting , we handed back our menus to that same server, who was apologetic, and said we were leaving. We went to another restaurant. While there and about to start eating, I got a phone call from TF telling us there was a table ready! This was about 45 minutes after our initial arrival. My first thought about True Food Kitchen is organic and health conscious. They have an open dining room with ample seating and a patio area. The servers are super friendly and accommodating. Today we ordered a lettuce wrap with shrimp as an appetizer with a Thai sauce and veggies. I started with a cup of tomato soup that was dairy free and not acidic at all. I had a burger and upgraded to sweet potato chips. Note: the burger had a fair amount of Parmesan cheese that was a little overwhelming, so if you don't like Parmesan cheese, you might want to ask them to hold it. Cheese pizza for the little one and Teriyaki Chicken Powergrain bowls for the ladies. The food is moderately priced but compared to a lot of organic restaurants, the portions are more substantial. Also had the two vegan pizzas, seasonal squash and spinach mushroom. The crust was fierce and they were both unique and tasty, but I could have gone for a nice drizzle of hot sauce on top, or maybe a touch of salt. I'd get either of them again though. Only my second time here but each time has made me wish I lived closer so I can dine here more frequently. Maybe El Segundo isn't too far from where I live but it's still a trek. Both times, the staff was amazing. Both times, everything we tried was amazing. I don't know how they manage to serve beyond delicately delicious Edamame Dumplings, and scrumptiously hearty Grass-Fed Burger (the one with mushrooms, arugula, onions and cheese) in one place and makes you feel like they specialize in burgers or fine dining dumplings. Whatever you end up chompin' down on, remember to try a drink - whether it's high quality tea or one of their refreshers or craft matches, try it. And definite yes to one of their dessert offerings.
