ENTRANCE IN BACK OF BUILDING... Did everyone say this and I just forgot? Or did nobody say this and that's part of the excitement? Hope this helps you!! WHAT I'D KEEP: Definitely liked the vibe. WHY I'D TWEAK: Was disappointed that the only options for milk were whole and oat.

We tried Veil for the first time and it was a 10/10 for me. I tried the vanilla matcha and it was good 7/10 i wish it had a little more matcha but the flavor was good. BUT i did get another drink, matcha with banana and the barista recommended an UBE cold foam and it was SOO GOOD, (thxs so much for the recommendation) even though there were alot of people first thing in the morning they were kind and it went by super fast! i would 100% come again.

Incredibly cozy coffee shop, the drip coffee is excellent. Wait time for my drink was less than a minute. Seating is limited but there are plenty of outlets for studying.

Came here on a chilly Friday morning and absolutely loved the vibe. I love the projector as a nice touch which really made the ambiance feel nice and inviting. The drinks itself were delicious, and not too sweet. Their ceremonial matcha is nice and creamy! The baristas were friendly and made really good recommendations as well. I can't wait to come back!

The staff was incredibly kind, and I love their simple standard menu but they also have signature syrup combinations that are espresso and matcha friendly! They have a selection of pastries from Scratch bakery and plenty of indoor and outdoor 2-4 top tables. A very welcoming and warm place to be and my cold brew was great quality- love that they have Ube syrup! Parking is downtown street parking, so good to plan ahead for that :)

Enjoyed my coffee, but didn't enjoy the price! Very average--definitely a popular place to try right now though! Love the ambiance. Was suprised at how busy it was midday. Not quiet enough to study without feeling like you're taking up tables. Didn't try any of the food. My friend got her latte iced and she couldn't taste any coffee and didnt finish her drink. Just something to think about: sweeter drinks with a very mellow coffee taste.

Their matcha is ceremonial grade, which was basically an automatic win. They make it with oat milk (although I'm sure they have other types of milk.) Staff was friendly. The place was aesthetic and enough seating. The cafe is around the corner of Eight and Bank Street.

cool little spot in an area of town that could use some more activity. the latte was a little milky but it was also super busy when i went in (slay) so they had to be cranking out drinks. the shop is pretty small and doesn't have a ton of seating, so it's better for grabbing a drink to go. wanna go back and try the matcha next time!

I also got a breakfast burrito (not gf) the second morning, which was delicious + had great heat. The coffee here was also amazing, although I opted for very basic oat milk lattes each morning. My husband got a maple tahini latte one morning + a smoked something or other on the other morning we went. My husband + son got croissants both mornings and loved them, but they also had some seriously cute rainbow donuts on display, which I was a bit shocked that my five year old passed by. The baristas were all very friendly and helpful, which I appreciated + the space was great with an open kitchen concept/plenty of seating. This seems like a great spot to work from, although they also had a wonderful (windy) rooftop to sit on also.. that looked like it had a fireplace for chillier days- so cozy. Best coffee in KC.

With a variety of flavors (both standard and unique) there is truly something for everyone. I tried an elderberry latte and enjoyed it. Eclectic decor in the older building with exposed brick walls and a fair amount of plants up front. It's a large space with a variety of seating options - maybe 4 or 5 two-tops along the windows in the front, a few large booths that could sit six each if you're cozy, 3 or 4 nooks with a mix of couches and stereotypical coffee shop seating, a larger table in the back, and some bar seating as well. The traditional coffeeshop style seating is a nice touch, and feels like a throwback to a different era, when coffee shops weren't just a ton of people on laptops. That being said, they're clearly trying to draw in remote workers and their ilk, with plentiful outlets (i.e. four outlets at the booth I sat at and I can see 4 under counter outlets for every 2 or 3 bar stools. They've also got signage at the tables encouraging sharing the larger spaces/inviting others to sit with you. Was probably a little quieter than normal since it was Memorial Day, so the sign to share the space didn't come in to play, but I appreciate the vibe and community they're trying to create. Decaf americano was fine, but it was in a paper cup which felt like a bit of a miss. They didn't ask if I wanted it for here or not, but I do see some mugs on top of the large Rancilio espresso machine (so the purists may balk it's not a La Marzocco).
