My fiance took my 2009 ford focus to this shop for front brakes and driverside caliper replacement. Mind you my brakes had been redone a few days before which is when it was discovered that the old caliper was not opening as it should and causing friction, pulling and a very intense burning smell, but even after receiving the new parts (not sure if they replaced the old parts) the caliper was still doing the same thing. My fiance paid over $500 for the fix and I believe he was beat out of that money. They didn't give back the new brakes that I had already paid for and when their services were complete, they parked my vehicle on the street. I took my car in to have it inspected and to replace a part. I specifically asked them to test drive it so they could experience the issue firsthand. They told me the noise I was hearing was due to a specific part that needed replacement. Based on their diagnosis, I had the part replaced. However, after getting the car back, the noise was still there--meaning they charged me for a repair they claimed would fix the problem, even though it didn't. They didn't actually identify the real issue, just installed a new part and billed me for it. read more

I can't say enough great things about Tony and his crew! They are honest, professional and more helpful than any other mechanics I've used in the past. My car was having a significant oil leak and after the crew at Jiffy Lube told me it was a leaky oil pan gasket, I brought it to Tony to check it out. Turns out, Jiffy Lube damaged the filter while changing the oil and blamed it on something else. Tony and his crew got me in right away and replaced the filter, FOR FREE! These are stand-up guys. I cant thank Tony enough for helping me pass my 1st time failed Emission test...My 10 year old Jeep Wrangler had never failed an emissions test until this year. We just moved into Lyons and I had no clue where to go to fix my multiple issues my "dear old gal" had. I stopped by an Auto Zone in Berwyn the day my Jeep "old gal" failed to at least treat her to some new wipers and asked if they knew of a mechanic that would help me and wasn't pricey...they recommended Tony. I felt like a dazzle in distress when I walked in but I was assured it would be fine. In between making time to take my Jeep my dads car Dodge Caliber started making a rattling noise I drove it to Tony once again but this time he asked me to go look at it underneath with him...it was a horrific site...I took a video just so my dad can see how bad it was...Tony went online to get the best deal for us and called me to tell me the pricing. I thought I needed a muffler for my ancient minivan. I dreaded the thought of shelling out lots of money for a vehicle that really belongs in an auto graveyard. I took the van to Velasquez and Sons this past Saturday and explained my dilemma. The gentleman working there said "Let's take a look." He put it on a lift and right away told me that my muffler was fine, but a connecting pipe needed to be replaced. They fixed it in 30 minutes and charged me a fifth of what I expected to pay. Whatever you do, DO NOT take your car here for repairs etc... These people are a bunch of scammers trying to take peoples money. Over the weekend my dad took a look at my trucks mufflers and said the muffler is in perfect condition. Mind you my dad is very experienced in fixing cars. But, there was something wrong with my converter and my dad said it needed to be fixed at a shop so I took my truck to this place and they replaced the converter but then came out with that my muffler has a hole and it needed to be replaced and it'll be $320 for everything...mind you my dad checked the my muffler before hand. They tried ripping me out of my money but they didn't luckily. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. read more

had an engine coil fixed. on a 1993 Dodge Shadow. Charged me $300 for it. To find out after I got it home. that it also had a bad Flywheel also. But didn't find out about the flywheel until I called them. when they called to tell me my car was fixed. never once did they mention the flywheel has problems. now im questioning whether the engine coil was even bad. they are friendly there, and they took about $50 off the price. but they need to learn how to inform people better. Every time I come here to this place for an oil change there always is a 3 to 4 hour wait , and if you ask them why? They will say because they have so many cars infront of you, but if you look inside there is just one car. I'm asking my self why the hell they do oil changes if they never want to do it. Take off your sign out of the window saying that you do oil changes for $19.99. because at the end you guys will never do it. I will never go back to this trash place. read more
