While visiting in Cicero Illinois, I discovered the air in one of my tires was very low. I panicked because it was nearing sunset and probably would not have made it back safely to Chicago. Pulled into Jiffy Lube and I guess Brian saw the look of desperation on my face and put me at ease by welcoming me to pull in. Reggie checked all of my tires, filled/topped off the ones that needed air so that I could make it home safely at no cost! Very disappointed with the service they provided my daughter. I usually take my daughter's car for an oil change, but was not able to so she went herself. Not only did they charge her more for a standard oil change, they also broke her engine splash shield. She drove on the highway and heard something dragging under her car after her oil change. We gave Jiffy Lube a chance to fix their mistake and all they did was use a zip tie to hold it in place. They told us to be careful while driving or else it will break. It shouldn't have broke in the first place if they put the splash shield on correctly. I had to go somewhere else and pay for something that shouldn't have been broken. I tried to handle this matter privately by calling and writing a claim, yet no one contacted us. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

It's a shame in this electronic age Corporate has not updated this locations system. I want to give this place five stars but for that reason I can't. -5 stars. I had a horrible experience here. I came in on 9/16/2021 for an oil change and a new battery. After telling them what I need, three mechanics stood around and decided to brainstorm about why my car wouldn't start. After about 45 mins of troubleshooting, it was determined that I would need a new battery. Which is what I originally asked for. It took them an additional hour to install the battery. Fast forward to 9/22/2021, my car completely shuts off and needs a jump. How does a brand new battery need a jump? I called to speak with the manager: Terrence P. His suggestion was to go in their trash to find my old battery and install it so that I could be refunded. I've never seen such incompetence in my life. Avoid this location at all cost. read more

I bought a Groupon for the signature oil change. I drove my car to this location as they were listed as one of the participating Jiffy Lubes. After they changed the oil, the cashier that rung me up told me that I had metal in my oil due to not getting on time oil changes. Funny because I take my car in for oil changes every 3-5months. She then told me that I need an engine flush at my next oil change?!? Or otherwise my engine will lock up. Later that day my check engine light pops on. Now I have to get a diagnosis for this check engine light. Hopefully the "mechanic" did not give me a bad oil job. I knew not to trust Jiffy Lube, but I couldn't pass up on the Groupon. The staff was really helpful except for the Supervisor or Manager (Clarence B) He actually was really rude with the staff and costumers, the services was ok for the other staff that actually was more helpful than the Manager, i think He suppose to treat people with respect including his own staff. Got my Honda Accord done here on Sunday morning. I did have to wait for a bit, but I didn't mind at all, it was Sunday and I had no where else to go that day. There were 2 people working there, the lady seemed very nice and friendly. We talked about my pup who was waiting with my daughter outside. The price was high, but I do put full synthetic oil in my car, so again I was expecting it. They accepted my $10 coupon that you can get from Jiffy lube website. The lady didn't try to push any unnecessary service down my throat and that was nice to see. She showed me the air filter and it looked clean so we didn't replace it. I will definitely come back. To be fair about them being completely unfair, this happened to both my BMW's three times over two years (each) before we caught it. Jiffy Lube in Cicero as well as the Jiffy Lube in Countryside (IL) do exactly the same thing. My engine was knocking after their service, so I took my car to a real mechanic (Joe's Garage, Brookfield, IL). He told me that the oil that was allegedly replaced 4 months before (and twice before that) was "like sludge" and clearly hadn't been replaced in at least 2 years, noting that we only drive that particular vehicle only 6,000 mile per year. So, I had him check the brake and transmission fluids. Neither of those had been changed either - ever. It took him four hours to get all the crap out of my engine and even with it being "clean" he wasn't convinced the previous wear hadn't caused permanent damage. The workers are taught to "up-sell" the customer. If you come in for a $19.99 special, they'll immediate tell you that the $19.99 oil isn't that good and if you care about your car you'll upgrade to the next level. That your brake fluid is brown and smells bad and that your trans fluid is burnt and the wrong color as well. According to an ABC News investigation, more than 95% of the time, these sales pitches are complete fabrications to get you to spend more. The person/people selling you the services get commissions for selling the services you don't need. Even if you bought services you didn't need, you might feel better thinking that at least you replaced the old fluids with new. Nope. In each and every one of the cases ABC News investigated, none of the fluids were ever replaced. They set up hidden cameras and had a reputable mechanic go over the cars both before and after the visits, to make sure (1) no service was needed and (2) that the fluids had actually been replaced. I've paid these thieves hundreds of dollars over the past two years and their dishonesty nearly destroyed my engine. I went back in both locations to get the history on my cars to confirm what they had allegedly done. Guess what? No records of the service on my car because they "don't keep records more than a month." Take your car to an actual shop or do it yourself. Yes, it's a lot more trouble but it's better than losing your car altogether. Oh yeah, and don't go to commission-based, corporate owned shops who's only agenda is to steal from you. read more

I received wonderful service from Clarence. I drive 25 miles each way to work and he told me I need to change the oil more often as he found oil sludge in the system (which he showed me). I opted to do the fuel system flush which he didn't push, just recommended. He wasn't pushy or showed me anything that I didn't really need and that's rare to find in a lot of these quick oil change places. I will definitely keep them as my go-to place to get my oil changed as long as there's guys like Clarence employed there. read more

Went to get a simple oil change on a toyota 4 runner, got home there was oil leaking, took it back went back home and still more oil leaking went the next day and still they couldnt tighten the plug, finally decided to never step a foot inside a jiffy lube ever again.... I went for an Expensive oil exchange high mileage ,70 bucks or so they claim they top off your oil the filter on my oil was never changed its from July I needed antifreeze and they didn't tell me I'm surprised if they even changed my oil,and to top it all off I went out of their shop with a flat tire some glass or screws they had laying around never again read more

While driving back home I noticed my engine light popped on and my engine was making a rattling noise so I pull over and jack it up, only to find out it leaked all the oil out due to the lazy worker not putting the cap on under the car. I was stranded in St Louis with a 2 y.o. when I discovered this dreaded news. I put a call into the manager to voice my anger but he didn't seem to care, still waiting for the District Manager to call back...After sharing this story with several people I have learned that this is a common problem with oil change companies that promise this service within a time limit.
