We were doing our usual trip from Indian Rocks Beach to the Saint Augustine area. Our route always takes us through the quaint little town of Palatka that seems to be holding its own and maintaining it historical perspective. Cute store fronts with early 1900 architecture always makes it enjoyable. It's our regular stop for lunch on the trip. We were on our way to one of our usual restaurants, when we took a shortcut and came across this little gem! Inside and out it was just a delight! The hostess and servers were pleasant and engaging, but let's talk about the food. There were at least three items on the menu that I was struggling with choosing. My wife had the same problem. She ended up with a deconstructed hamburger bowl that was everything that you would want in cheeseburger but without the bun. I, on the other hand, opting for my unspoken new year resolution of eating healthier, went with a chicken sandwich. Even though the menu called for it to be deep fried, our assured me I could get it blackened. It was delicious. A nice little added bonus was that they make their own Datil pepper ketchup, which was served on the side with my chicken sandwich. As soon as I tasted it, I realized I would need some more for my french fries. Another server, who I now presume might be the owner, came by and asked how things were going. I mentioned how much I loved the ketchup. When I asked for a little more, she said "no problem, I've got you covered". She came back, with not only another side serving, but a small mason jar full that she said was "a gift" for us to take home, listing all the different things we could use it on. Stopped in this snoozing small city while traveling to St Pete from St Augustine. While we were walking around and exploring the antique & thrift stores, we got hungry and decided The Fillin' Station looked like a good place to remedy that. Let me tell you, it was! They have a large section of patio for dog visitors and even made her a doggie patty, which she loved. I had the mushroom dip burger. It was great. My girl friend had the one on sour dough with their homemade black bean patty. We shared the fried green tomatoes with me actually not hating the homemade pimento cheese, (I usually hate it) and we shared the fried gouda Mac n cheese which was great! We also both loved the fries, sweet potato & crinkle cut. Top of of with heat staff & service and you get a definite winner. I highly recommend stopping here. read more

Stopped n at the Fillin' Station on the way to Ravine Gardens. Very pleased. We had a great server, the tables were clean and neat, lighting was not too harsh and noise was nominal with a full house. A New Favorite in Palatka - Cozy, Friendly, and Delicious Stopped by The Fillin' Station today and walked out genuinely impressed. From the moment you step inside, the place feels welcoming. The remodel is modern, clean, and comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a full bar. It somehow manages to feel like a casual neighborhood hangout, a fun sports-bar spot, date-night cozy, and family-friendly all at the same time. The staff was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and clearly happy to be there. That kind of energy makes a big difference. I had the Chopped Cheese, and it was outstanding. For anyone who doesn't know, a chopped cheese is seasoned ground beef chopped on the grill with melted cheese and sautéed onions, all served on a roll. The Fillin' Station absolutely nailed it--flavorful, hearty, and perfectly cooked. The fries deserve their own shoutout too, cooked in beef tallow, which gives them an incredible flavor and crispiness. They also have an onion ring tower for anyone feeling adventurous. I also had the chance to meet the owners, Laura and Tim, and it's clear they truly care about Palatka. They're passionate about being involved in the community, supporting local events, and making this a fun place people want to gather. Great food, great people, and a great atmosphere. We sat on the porch with our pup, great shade and lots of fans on a hot day. The beers are cold, service was friendly and fast, food was delicious. They had some pup food options (chicken or burger) and brought ice water in a nice dog dish. Depending on the season there are gnats/mosquitos. First time here an it was amazing. The hostess greeted us right away with smiles. We were immediately asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside as both were available. We chose inside. As soon as we sat down, our server was introduced to and took our drink order. She gave us a few minutes to look at the menu as it was our first time. When she came back to take our order and asked us if we any questions at all. We started with the cheese curds which were very good. I had the blue ribbon burger, and my husband had the dupe. Both burgers came out perfectly cooked and were very very good. They have this thing called the green tomato jam and I wasn't sure about it, but I have to say it was amazing my burger. The flavor of the burgers were amazing and I love the crinkle fries. They came out crispy and hot and delicious. Everything about this place was great. From the service that we got to the cute ambience of the restaurant. I like the fact that they have a full bar that you can sit at as well. And the fact that on a great cool sunny day, you can sit outside all in all. We will definitely be back to try some of the different items on the menu. It was a little pricey for burgers, but I would say it's perfect for the amount food that you get a the quality is great!! Highly recommend trying them!! read more

We had heard a lot of good things about The Fillin' Station and decided to try it for lunch this past week. We chose to eat inside, which was attractive, but the patio looked very comfortable, too. We started with the pretzel appetizer, which was excellent! It was homemade, fresh, chewy and the two dipping sauces that accompanied it were extremely tasty. I can't imagine going there and not getting the pretzel again. For our main entree, my husband who is from New Orleans, got the shrimp Poboy. While he said it was a little different from what he is used to, he said it was excellent. And he doesn't believe anyone but someone from N'awlins can make a good Poboy so that says volumes right there! The shrimp were large and plentiful and the remoulade sauce delicious. I ordered the mahi sandwich blackened with fries. It was a lovely piece of fish... Cooked perfectly, not dry, very good! Our server was lovely... She was friendly and always attentive without hovering. Our wait time was what you would expect from food that is freshly prepared. Overall, we enjoyed The Fillin' Station thoroughly and are looking forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes. Stopped in from the beach on our way home. Still had another hour ride & needed a pet friendly restaurant. Pleasantly surprised to find this place listed on Yelp. Sat outside, live music was very entertaining. Fast, good, friendly service. Not a big menu, but the burgers and onion rings were delicious! Definitely recommend this spot! read more

The food is consistently good and the service is above average. It has a laid-back, low-key atmosphere without sacrificing any amenities. It's not uncommon to see Tim, the Manager and Laura, the Director walking around conversing with people about their experience. Great customer service! You have to try it and be your own judge.
