I'm revising my review based on the comment below. I was wrong in the place I was reviewing. This was a different wedding, and she's right my that it rained. I was wrong. However, the wedding at this place had a different issue, which was worse than bad food. There was rain. After the ceremony, we all went to the tent to find our seats. My wife and I were seated at a table. When we got there, someone moved my placard from the table to another one a few tables away, because they wanted someone from thae other table to sit with them. My wife and I complained and the person who moved the placard told us to fuck off. We spoke to the person from the venue. She did not want to confront them and tell them they were wrong. She asked us to wait. So while people got their first course, we stood outside. As people were served their second course, we were told we could sit at a table that did not have two adjacent seats. We declined. We spoke to the bride and groom and apologized. The wedding coordinator did not understand why we didn't want sit at a table without sitting next to each other while the main courses were being finished We left. So the comment was right. This wad the wedding where there was rain. I mistakenly believed this was the place with the bad food. It was the place where they wouldn't do anything about the seat being moved and told us to deal with it. I wasn't going g to comment on this place because we were treated so badly. When it popped up on my list, I mistakenly believed it was the nice place with bad food. Nope. This was the place that let people change our seats, let them tell us to fuck off, and then told us to sit apart at a table when the meal was almost over. She's right. I was wrong. read more

Coming from the quinceañera herself, I would choose Veliz Banquet and Events again if I had the chance. Karina, Krystal, and Paula were so helpful during this whole journey. Especially Karina she stayed in communication with us the entire time and made sure everything was clear and stress-free. Planning a quince was really overwhelming towards me and my mom and family, but they really made it feel easier for us. When we had an incident, we spoke to Karina about it, and she truly did her best to help us out. I was a guest, at an event, I have to say this venue is NOT the best.. maybe cheap, but this is what they delievered... there probably was no banquet captain, or coordinator. First, why put champagne glasses on the tables, but don't pour any? during the dancing, no one turned down the lights.... dinner service took long because even though we had suggested our choice of protein on the invites, which should of been given to the catering manager, who should of put the choice or had some type of card at check in to help the servers drop off plates, they gave nothing, so the poor servers where running in circles to see who ordered what. watching just our table, it took half hour for all of us to be served. Not sure if Coffee is extra, but most professional catering companies offer coffee with desert but nothing was offered. oh they had soda at the table.. yeyy this may be a cheap place, but it is truly one of the worst that I have ever attended. looking at other reviews, maybe they got it right for them, or maybe their expectations where not so high. look elsewhere if you want good service. read more

Loved that the park was right there too--it made for perfect photos before the reception. The food was a hit. We chose the chicken cordon bleu with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes, and the birria with rice and beans--both were delicious. And the tamarindo margarita? So refreshing! I had my wedding reception this weekend at Veliz Banquets and Events. Get the inhouse DJ, Rafa aka Tony is amazing, knows how to fill the gaps when due to my lack of organization. He brings the place to life with energy, lights, sound, and skills Crystal who managed our night was professional, went out of her way to make sure my bride and I were content all night. Were flexible when I was unorganized at times. To Karina who runs this place like Fortune 500 Company. This place has systems and standard operating procedures. Because of it, everything ran seamlessly and our guest and my wife and I had a great time dancing and enjoining the festivities. Awful customer service with no accountability. I recently hosted my wedding reception here and although it was beautiful it was not good service at all. First the venue coordinator Karina asked for an extremely detailed time of events which I had to redo to their needs. But when the day of the reception came, their serves and the head coordinators didn't know what to do. They blamed my coordinator, myself, and mother for their mistakes. No accountability and no apologies when anything went wrong. Second, they tried to close the bar an hour early than what we had scheduled from the beginning. When I asked the head coordinators for the bar she thought our closing time was a different time. I told her it was always 1am and she said she had to check our contract but she could still work it if we wanted. So they reopened it 15 minutes later. Third, when we decided to leave a whole hour early the head coordinator Karina asked if everything was ok. It wasn't. The servers were bringing out our cake again. Even though my coordinator told the head server to put it in the fridge. It didn't get stocked in their fridge and the box was thrown away in the trash by the servers. Forth, one of the servers grabbed a centerpiece item from my father in laws hand. She was extremely rude and when confronted about her mistake she yelled at my family and took off with our centerpiece decorations I personally made. Fifth, the Noodle bar wasn't set up at the correct time and the venue refused to provide forks so our guests couldn't enjoy it. Last, they made our food vendor set up in the parking lot with no lights to prepare the food. After going over this with the head coordinator she endured me the good could be cooked next to the bar but then made her set up in the parking lot. Very unprofessional for a 15k venue. read more

Both Karina and Crystal were on the details as soon as we arrived. Some of our easels were flimsy so Karina let us borrow a few to make our decor better. (Also, trust Karina's vision. My wife and I had our beautiful wedding reception at the Le Chateau De Crystale Ballroom at Veliz Banquets and Events 2 weeks ago. We toured this venue when it was in the process of being remodeled and we are extremely happy and grateful that we trusted Karina and her vision. The venue turned out beautiful and floor plan/table setup was exactly what we wanted for our special day. Karina and Crystal are extremely professional, friendly, and communicative. They were both present during the reception to make sure everything ran smoothly. The servers and bartenders were quick and efficient with serving our guests and making sure everything was clean, organized, and safe throughout the night. The food was delicious. We had steak fajitas with beans/rice and Chicken Parmesan with pasta/mashed potatoes. Overall we are incredibly happy and satisfied that we selected Veliz for our wedding reception! Me and my husband had our wedding here, we had our ceremony and reception all in the same location. The ceremony area was magical reminded me of being in the twilight movie . And our reception was at the Le Jardín, a beauty of an outdoor garden reception. Karina the owner where do I begin, she was beyond amazing. This venue was gorgeous. I went to an event for my niece's 15. My sister told me it was very nice but didn't expect to be as pretty and as clean as I saw it. The staff were amazing and very helpful. My sister told me that customer service was very helpful throughout the whole time of planning the event. Any questions they had, they were able to text or call and get a response. I was hesitant to post on yelp but when my post was removed I found it insulting and shameful. Here's my original post from yelp, which was removed by the owner: Okay I wasn't going to post, but I read another post and felt it was necessary to share my experience. I attend a 15 on October 5. The venue was amazing and big enough to host about 200-300 people comfortably. Now, my issue is the food. I had a plate of Birria and regretted it almost immediately. First, the portion was extremely small and I was starving. When my plate came, I was disappointed in the size but ate it. By about midnight, my stomach was so uneasy I was in and out of the bathroom. The following day, I was so bad I felt like I had the flu. I had chills, fever and diarrhea. I recommend the venue, but not the food. Hope this helps you read more

We have been in the process of viewing venues for our October wedding and viewed the owners other location in Downey Ca The secret house of Ivey so I knew this place was going to be exceptional.
