We were warmly greeted by Carla (who served us very well) and asked if we had ever been here before (no), and then were given the time to review their menu, ask questions, and finally make our selections. My wife had a couple of their Pizza Empanadas, while I chose the Chicken Mofungo (sp?). For an appetizer of sorts we ordered their ham croquetas. The food came out made-to-order and it was hot and fresh. My wife loved their empanadas, and my order was a massive serving of chicken corn meal, and a small side salad of sorts. The mofongo comes with an incredibly delicious garlic sauce that just makes the whole meal work even more than it was already working. We shared two desserts - the Tres Leches along with a guava cake roll I can't recall what it was called. The Tres Leches was just the right size (as this is a traditionally sweet treat) and the cake roll was sizeable - so it made sense to share that. You order at the counter and seat yourself wherever you'd like. We had the skirt steak mofongo and skirt steak w/eggs. Everything came out great. Fresh. The dishes were delicious and the place was clean and well maintained. However, during my visit today, I witnessed something that made me uncomfortable. The manager her name sounded like Aslenis or Arianis was questioning a customer about discounts and the price he paid. She leaned over his table in a way that felt confrontational and, honestly, came across as harassment. The customer handled it calmly and said he didn't want to argue, but she responded with a smirk, which made the situation feel even more awkward. I also noticed her speaking to other employees in a way that felt more bossy than respectful. Aside from that experience, the food really is great though a bit on the expensive side. I love it when businesses that start as a food truck and then are able to move to a brick and mortar. This is the case with this place. We decided to come for breakfast to check what they have to offer. Wow! The omelette and scrambled egg choices are delicious. I ordered the Bori which is steak and eggs. The skirt steak was tender and flavorful. The complete dish was excellent! The maduros were cooked perfectly. My son ordered the Western scramble which was equally delicious as mine. I unfortunately had to knock off points for the cafe con leche. This needs work in my opinion. The atmosphere is nice. I have been to VenPaCa 3 times since opening and all 3 times they were a 5 star. Friendly service, great atmosphere and delicious food. I started going to them when they were a food truck. As a Hispanic born and raised in Miami and it's difficult to find good Hispanic food in this area. Thank you guys for opening a cafe in the area!! If you order from the hot bar, they serve you and you are good to go. If you order sandwiches or any other item from the menu, it is made to order so there is a little bit of a wait time which is obvious. Sandwiches don't come with sides (which I do not mind as I get full off the sandwich alone). I have tried their steak sandwich and Cuban sandwich which both were delicious! My go-to is a steak sandwich. My boyfriend goes for the hot bar he's had the garlic chicken and the pork. I do love me some pork but that garlic chicken is on point!!
