Came by after dinner with my family. There was ample seeting inside. The chocolate display made it so tempting to indulge. The Gelato was the main event. We had 3 cones. Cone 1: Match and wanna cotta. The matcha was high quality you can taste the earthyness to it. It was delightful. Cone 2: white chocolate with hazelnut ice cream. Tasted amazing. Not overly sweet. Cone 3: my daughter likes what she likes. Vanilla and chocolate. But she opted for the 70% dark chocolate. I was surprised. It wasn't too bitter and the ultimately finished it.
If you want to feel like you're in Italy or back in Italy, you ought to stop by here for some dessert after dinner. The best part about it is that you don't even need to simply order chocolates. We had the itch to get some gelatos. I myself wanted a mango gelato and wasn't disappointed with it at all. Fortunately, there were a few open tables outside so we were able to enjoy every bite of our ice cream. But yes, I should come back for chocolates in the future.
Lots of tasting options, very cold but not headache cold, and premium feel. Perfect for an end of date! (Albeit, not why I was there).

And yes I can confirm that the ice cream here is amazinggg. - Raspberry: 1000/10 (I'm a sorbet lover andd omg this raspberry sorbet is some of the best I've had in a whileee) - Caramel and rosemary: 8/10 (interesting flavor-- it was sweet and herbal) - Stracciatella: 10/10 (solid chocolate ice cream) Service was fast and great and ambiance is very bright and cheery. I'll def be back when I'm craving ice cream!
Went to try the tiramisu gelato and it was very good!! $11.60 for 2 flavor chocolate cone!! Kinda expensive but worth the try
I did not want to come here for hot chocolate I didn't think it was going to be anything special. I don't regret to say, I reallyyyy enjoyed my hot coco I got here. It was the first snow of NYC and it was the perfect thing to keep me warm and cozy. The hot chocolate tasted of high quality, it wasn't too sweet and didn't taste artificial. I'd come back to these locations for hot chocolate again!

The inside of the shop has so many chocolates you can buy to enjoy there or as a gift! Service here was alright. I got their raspberry and hazelnut gelato and thought that it was delicious. It was rich, creamy, and flavorful. Would definitely come back.

My self control goes out the window, when ever I pass Venchi's. Been on a very strict diet focusing on juicing, protein shakes, etc! All of that went straight out the window when I saw my favorite gelato spot! Tried practicing self control by not walking on Carmine & Bleecker. So the rationale begins, well I walked over 18k steps, I deserve a treat! Venchi's never disappoints! Venchi's limited edition, collaboration with MSC cruise line featured the crunch wave gelato! Oh my, why did that flavor have to be a limited edition! The best gelato flavor, I have ever tasted outside of my regular favorites. This gelato flavor was inspired by Italy's traditional Bacio di Dama biscuit. Had to slowly savor, each bite. The base was a bourbon, vanilla, gelato, the sand featured a crunchy, hazelnut biscuit, and salted toffee pieces. The electric blue color, that immediately had my attention, was a vibrant, natural blue spiralina top layer that mirrors the deep blue color of the Mediterranean. My entire experience from ordering, sample, purchase, was a 10 out of 10! And the cherry on top was having a place to sit inside the cafe! read more
I was walking in the West Village and hadn't noticed a change at an ice cream store I used to go to. Grom, on Bleecker St., was now Venchi. I thought I would try it out. I went in and was offered several tastes by a very nice employee behind the counter. It brought back memories of my days scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbin's. There were a few flavors I liked, and a few I didn't. I settled on 3 flavors, two of which were the favorites of the employee. Green Pistachio from Brontë Chocoviar 75% Mango Let's start with the Green Pistachio - I didn't know what Brontë was and asked - apparently the Brontë pistachio is rare as it's only grown in the volcanic ash of Mt. Etna in Sicily! The gelato was excellent; the pistachio flavor was superb! One of my favorite ice cream flavors is chocolate - especially dark chocolate! Venchi had two dark chocolate flavors - Chocoviar 75% and Extra Dark Chocolate 77% (vegan - no dairy). I tasted both and the Chocoviar was much more flavorful! It was a great chocolate gelato! Last, but definitely not least, was another favorite of the employee - Mango. It was a totally different flavor than the first two choices and I asked if I could have that '3rd scoop' in a separate cup! I didn't mind the Pistachio and Chocolate gelatos in one cup, but didn't think the mango flavor would 'blend' with the other two. No problem - I got 2 cups of gelato! It was as good as I remember Grom being - maybe a little better. I really appreciated all the different tastings and suggestions the employee gave to me! read more
i absolutely love this ice cream chain. it has very creamy, decadent ice cream. i went for the dark chocolate flavor, it was very rich, and i enjoyed it in a cone on a hot day. there is seating inside and outside. the toppings are incredible and add the perfect crunch to the creamy ice cream. there was quite a line during the middle of the day, but it moved decently fast, it probably took about 10 minutes. read more

Yes, it is over priced Gelato. But sometimes you just have to treat yourself. I chose to get the Hazelnut Gelato, Small Size (16oz, 1lb) with Cream Piedmont Hazelnut Grains. $8+ The store was vibrant and beautiful. Plus, the staff were attentive. It was so rich and delectable that a larger portion would have been too much. My sweet tooth definitely found its Italian Gelato match. read more
Went here with a friend to get dessert after our meal at an Italian restaurant nearby. We were amazed by the store's setup, with chocolates, candies, and unique gifts placed on the wall and around the store. I would definitely recommend sampling before ordering, as there are unique flavors such as parmesan and extra virgin olive oil along with more traditional gelato flavors. I got the straciatella and hazelnut gelatos and they were both a great choice. Service was great as well! read more
Just WOW when you walk into the store. It's brightly lit and you feel so welcomed with all the chocolate on the wall. It's a kid in a candy/ice cream store literally!! When you see the pistachio as a dark green color than that bright mint green color, you know this is the real deal. The pistachio flavor was on point to whqt a real pistachio nut taste like when you crush it. Baciodidama is the other glavor i chose and this is chocolatemixed with hazelnutwith biscuits crushed. You don't see this anywhere else and I had to try it. Definitely did not disappoint. read more
I stopped by Joe's Pizza for a late night snack, and came across Venchi with a line out the door. I went in to see what this place was, and was immediately intrigued with the chocolate and gelato selections. I decided to circle back after my pizza. I got a double scoop of chocolate and pistachio. The gelato was so silky good. They also ask if you want them to top the gelato with a piece of chocolate. Why would anyone say no?!? Yeah, I know not everyone likes chocolate, but I love chocolate, so it was an immediate yes please. I ate my gelato as I walked back to my hotel in SoHo. It was a perfect end to the night. They open pretty late, so if you are looking for a late night sweet treat, this is definitely the place to go. There was also a coffee shop next door plus Joe's Pizza a few doors down. This place is incredible and the staff is quite friendly and accommodating. This chocolate place is to die for with their exquisite gelato. Yes the gelato is not inexpensive but it's worth the price. The place is small and though they have seats inside, it's crowded especially with their display of wonderful chocolate bonbons, but when there are screaming children that prevents you from enjoying your treats, i rather go out. Fortunately they had available seating outside where you can enjoy your gelato peacefully and people watch. read more

While in the city on a hot day my friends and I were craving ice cream and the first place we saw was Venchi. Luck was on our side that day because what we experienced was the most decadent high quality gelato I've ever tasted! I got my cup lined with chocolate and nuts, and went with a combo of coconut sorbet and the Azteco which is a vegan friendly extra-dark chocolate. I was a little hesitant with the Azteco though it seemed to be a popular flavor, so I asked the person helping me if I could have a sample which he gladly gave me. It was delicious, decadantnot too bitter and so refreshing. I was sold!! I honestly can't wait to go back for more. I am not in the city often but the next time I'm there, I will definitely be checking to see if there is a Venchi nearby. I also heard there is one at short hills, I hope they sell the gelato! read more

My baby sister bought a small cup of gelato here, took one bite, and immediately noticed a strange aftertaste. She went back in politely to let the staff know and asked if she could swap it for another flavor. At first, the supervisor, Chris, said yes -- but then changed his mind when he realized the ice cream wasn't for a child and claimed their policy doesn't allow exchanges or refunds. Instead of showing understanding or even basic courtesy, he became dismissive and rude. We left the untouched ice cream on the counter and walked out with nothing -- no refund, no replacement, just disrespect. What kind of customer service is that? Policies aside, it's about how you treat people. The staff clearly lacked professionalism and made the entire situation uncomfortable. Our family of eight was next in line but decided to leave too. Not worth supporting a business that treats paying customers this way. read more
We were not even remotely hungry, as we'd just eaten, among other things, a pastrami sandwich and a slice of pizza, but we'd heard good things about Venchi's gelato, so obviously we had to try it. We went with the classic Pistachio flavor and got it in the smallest size they have available. It's incredible. I think I might even go so far as to say it's the best gelato I've ever had. It's just so impossibly smooth and creamy, and that robust pistachio flavor is so damn delicious. Yeah, Venchi lives up to their reputation, and then some. read more

STAFF SO NICE!!! See below for review of what I tried: Parmesan ice cream Parmesan ice cream... I tried it and I will be honest with you. It wasn't't my favorite. Chunks of Parmesan in there. Not for the faint of heart. The ice cream itself I liked the flavor kind of like cheesecake but with a little more funk.. but I did not like the pieces of the cheese in the ice cream. January in New York calls for a Hot Chocolate from Venchi. Italian hot chocolate, thick and rich topped with freshly whipped cream was the perfect way to take away the chill. Venchi's is on par with hot chocolate in Italy. Once we warmed up we had to have the Pistachio Gelato, the flavor brought me back to last summer on the Amalfi Coast. We purchased some beautifully bagged specialty chocolates for gifts. The service was friendly , there are small cafe tables to enjoy your favorite Venchi product. On your next visit to New York be sure to add Venchi to your must do list, what could be better than a Chocogelateria? . read more

My little two scoop ice cream cone was $14.00! It was the smallest scoops I've ever seen. Even the cone is the smallest and skinniest I've seen. I had no idea I was purchasing a bunch of expensive add-ons when they asked if I wanted whipped cream, a cone, and chocolate sauce. (Silly me, I thought that was included). It basically doubled the price. The cone I had (see pic) was Strawberry with 'Chocoviar', which is 75% dark chocolate, topped with whipped cream. It was delicious for a few seconds until it was gone. I left feeling totally ripped off with the silly add-ons and the tiny portion size. read more

The workers here were extremely rude and hostile. Me and my friend were one of the only ones outside (there were many empty seats both inside and outside of the store and me and her are both people of color) My friend went inside to get a coconut cone and then came back outside to sit with me. A worker came outside to our table and told us to put the chairs back where we found them but we hadn't moved any chairs, We said "okay" anyways and we thought that was it. Then like 5 minutes later a different worker opened the door and yelled at us that we were there for too long but ignored the other people who were sitting down even though my friend had already bought something and wanted to go back inside and get another cone. We felt so awful we just got up and left, I would never come back here again. read more
I saw Venechi in Union Square last weekend and was curious about it. So when I saw this other location in the west village, my friend and I decided to try it. I LOVE gelato. The flavors I always gravitate towards are pistachio & hazelnut. I got the pistachio & Cremino. If you love hazelnut as much as I do, they have 4 types of hazelnut flavors. Try them all before you pick which one you want. The flavors taste authentic and not artificial or dyed. The cones are crunchy and delicious. I will definitely be coming back and sharing this spot with friends. read more

An adorable little ice cream/dessert shop. Open late and located in a get neighborhood. The quality of the dessert was outstanding. Definitely a little pricey but normal for a boutique style shop. Service was fast and efficient, and they did a great job of keeping the lines moving. Can't wait to go back. read more
Italian gelato chocolate shop located in the West Village right next to Joe's pizza. Perfect dessert after pizza. Pretty lit and aesthetic, the line was long but it went by pretty quickly, it was out the door close to the stop light but took about 15-20 minutes to make it up front and that's because the workers really gave each group attention and let us sample and not rush folks. This gave me enough time to figure out what to order and what was popular. I sampled a couple of the chocolate hazelnut ones and if you subscribed to their email then you could get a discount, the workers patiently waited and gave everyone compliments. Great service! I got the regular (up to 2 flavors) cremino (cocoa & hazelnut) and pistachio. The workers all said I did a great choice and chose very popular flavors. I got it on a cone and dipped it in chocolate and hazelnuts with dark chocolate on top. It was Soo good! I really enjoyed it and thought it was worth the wait. My friend got a baby (1 scoop) of mango (vegan) in a cup. Also was really good! There are no bathrooms inside, plenty of seating outside, surrounding, lots of chocolates to buy and I would say there is some street parking but it is a busy area. read more

Is this place expensive - yep. Is it delicious - yes. Is it worth the price - only you can decide but I say yes. It smells like the best dark chocolate and as a chocolate snob I'm here for this! Enjoy the gelato. They have excellent coffee. I didn't have a crepe but they looked great. You can buy fancy AF Italian chocolates by the box or lbs. tiny seating area so be prepared to walk and eat on busy days. read more
Top end gelato! I had the pistachio and coconut gelato and both were delicious. Maybe the best gelato I've ever had? Or close to it. Service was top notch. I ended up joining their loyalty club! And, bought a box of chocolates for a friend. Yep, I really got into it! read more
