Ordered lunch from Bella's on DoorDash. Order arrived and one of our requests was not filled. Called Bella's directly. We were told they didn't have what we ordered, so they refunded us. We specifically asked them to contact us if they couldn't fill our order. Now one of us has no lunch. Staff and owner at Bella's couldn't care less! We used to frequent this place often. I'm done! Its like a little Venda Costantinos but not on the hill, on the trail! Authentic Italian deli/bakery. Offers breakfast options as well as lunch + dinner. Can sit and eat here or take to-go. Stopped in on our way to Swarovski factory. What a pleasant surprise. Fantastic egg sandwiches. We had to wait for a pot of coffee to be brewed and area to be set up but it was worth the wait. I was told about this deli by a family member. I stopped in yesterday and it didn't disappoint! There known for there Italian subs. 1/2 or full size. The full size is for someone with a big appetite! Worth the ride! The choices of subs , wraps , prepared Italian foods was more than I could imagine! Everything is freshly made right there from dinner choices , breads and desserts. You can grab a coffee while your there maybe shop a little in there store for sauces and delightful choices of olives and condiments. It's right off the Wampanoag trail. Easy to get to. I've been here a few times and I'm enjoying the fact I like it more every time I go. With my first visit, I wasn't really impressed. Heading home I was starving so, I stopped in to grab a bite. Got a honey turkey melt; half size and a slice of their apple pie. Portions of both were huge although, the sandwich wasn't impressive. Ingredients so fresh but, when you have too many strong flavors going on, it doesn't balance. The apple pie turned out to be apple cheesecake (mislabeled) which was impressive since, I don't really like cheesecake and I ate it all. I wanted to like this place so, I kept going back because they have a *huge* variety of things to eat; including a small cafe inside. Next I tried their chicken caesar wrap and wasn't impressed. The chicken was delicious but, was warm and had a smokey, roasted flavor. Again, fresh ingredients but, lack of balance regarding components made it not taste like a caesar wrap. I devoured two house made cannolis (pure heaven) and left with a 1/4lb of their deli turkey which I remember being lovely from the first sandwich. Last visit was with my s/o. He hadn't tried the place yet and was aching to do so. This visit is where I met the totally awesome James. I wanted to see if I could get the chicken caesar wrap cold. He over heard and happily started to ask how I'd like my sandwich. "Sub or wrap? White or wheat? Crispy chicken or grilled? Hot or cold?" Wait, what?? I wasn't asked that before so, heck yeah! I got the soup and sandwich combo. Customized myself a chicken caesar wrap and got their veggie minestrone soup. My s/o got a whole chicken parm. He consumed most of it before I was even able to take a picture. We sat in their cute little dining area and I grabbed myself a pineapple soda. James brought over our food and said if we needed anything, just holler. The soup was delicious and the wrap was perfect. Thank you James. We grabbed a pumpkin tiramisu on our way out which was very tasty but, more like a pumpkin cake than tiramisu. Over all, I'm glad I kept trying. They have lots of food there which can be overwhelming. So, if you try em out and aren't wowed, I highly recommend giving them a couple chances. I'm 8 months pregnant and was craving a Thanksgiving sandwich bad. I found this place on grubhub and they advertised a picture of of sandwich with thick cut roasted turkey. It looked so good I ordered a large sub. When it arrived I got a sandwich filled with slimey cold cut turkey. The bread wasn't good, neither was the "crispy stuffing" what a scam. Was the most disgusting Thanksgiving sandwich I ever had. What a waste. D Angelo's is better than this. read more

Bella's was recently introduced to us as a take out option for lunch and I am very glad that it was! Bella's took over the former "Portabella" space (on Wampanoag Trail at Forbes St.) and has plenty of parking in that plaza. I have now tried the turkey sandwich, chicken cutlet sandwich, chicken parmigiana sandwich as well as the Caesar salad with grilled chicken added and have found them all to be delicious lunch options. (see photots) I always order the small sandwiches and found it to be plenty but if you have a larger appetite - go with the large! The bread is fresh and tasty and all of the ingredients on the sandwiches have been plentiful and delicious. We usually call the order in ahead of time and pick it up - I would definitely add this gourmet deli to the lunch hit list if you are in the Riverside / Barrington, RI area. read more

I called 10 days ahead to ask about ordering prepared food for Christmas and I was told they had plenty of trays of Chicken and Eggplant Parmigiana. I went in a week before Christmas and lo and behold they didn't have any Chicken Parm available so, I ordered it. I paid ahead to pick it up at a set time before the Holiday. It wasn't ready and they made me wait a 1/2 hour. They should have given me something maybe Christmas cookies for all the waiting and driving back and forth but, they didn't! When you stand around the cash register at a business and there are 6 Staff members behind the counter doing very little and they take 10 minutes to ask you if you need anything-- it's poorly managed. Our server was a order taker , did not present our bottled wine choice with proper wine service ( really embarrassed as I was the host be served first after tasting) . I had ordered the signature stuffer veal chop . Delicious chicken salad, tuna salad (Italian and American) both excellent, they make their own ravioli (in several different ways), their own sauces, all of which are prepackaged to take home. Their food is very good, but their cakes are some of the nicest around. They prepare dine in or take home sandwiches and my personal happy surprise, they make an absolutely lovely green salad! I'm so excited about this addition to the neighborhood. The spot itself is unassuming, and I drove by it for a couple of months before deciding to stop, but I'm sure glad I did! On my first visit I picked up some things to throw together for dinner: vegan vegetable ravioli (which my husband requests all the time, but which are hard to find outside of Dave's Fresh Pasta in Somerville), artichoke salad, and marinated mushrooms. The artichoke salad was good, but the marinated mushrooms were top-notch. Addictive, even. And the ravioli did not disappoint either. Yesterday it was cold and dreary and I reeeeeally wanted soup, but it's hard to find good vegetarian soups and I wasn't sure that the Italian Gourmet would have any. I called and they assured me that they not only have vegetarian soup offerings that day, but they had *two* of them! So I stopped in and picked up one of each: pasta fagioli and vegetable minestrone. I was wooed by many other things while I was there, including the spinach calzones and the pizzas, both of which looked fantastic. But I kept my focus and left with only my soups...and package of the vegan ravioli, and a container of the marinated mushrooms, which I could not resist. They even threw in a couple of fresh rolls with the soup, which was really nice. So the soup. The pasta fagioli was still hot, so I tried that one first while I heated up the vegetable minestrone. It was good indeed. But THEN i tried the vegetable minestrone and it knocked my socks off. It was lemony and kale-y and I couldn't stop eating it. I could eat it every day and never tire of it, it was so good. I don't often crave soup, but when I do, I usually crave the delicious soups from KamaSouptra in Portland, Maine, which have left an indelible impression on me. But this vegetable minestrone has now joined the ranks of crave-worthy soups. So good!!! I have resisted the temptation to buy anything from their pastry case as of yet, but they do have some beautiful pastries, including 95 cent macarons! They also boast a nice deli and a wide variety of prepared foods and pantry goods imported from Italy. When I moved back down here after living in Boston for nearly 15 years, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find places like this, but here they are. read more

I was having a hankering for an Italian treat called pizza gaina (spelling?) or as some call it pizza rustica which is a specialty at Easter. I called around and could not find an Italian bakery anywhere until I found Bella's. The young man that took my order was very nice and answered all my questions so I ordered one. I called back this week to confirm and got a wonderful girl on the phone that told me all about Bella's, very interesting history and they make everything they sell all the pastry, specialty foods, etc... so today I went to get my order all the way from the Cape and it was a wonderful surprise. This place is a hidden gem. Their authentic Italian sandwiches on homemade bread are unbeatable - it's a blessing and a curse to have this place down the street from my work! We have been here a number of times now. The location is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, but the quality they put out is! We used to (and still do from time to time) drive to Tony's on Federal Hill for a good sandwich or Italian food, but this spot is a great solution that is 15 minutes (or 2 hours to the rest of the world) closer to our house. We also drive by it quite a few times a week. The chicken marsala is extremely good. I had the sandwich today and had them add some portabellas to the dish. It was amazing. The bread is very good as well. My wife really enjoys the chicken salad and the kids love the pasta marinara. This place is definitely worth a try. It's the best thing this side of Federal Hill and the employee's are very friendly as well! read more

Top notch deli! I have never had a bad sandwich here. Everything I have tried has been excellent. The portions are huge. I can only eat a half of a half size. I save the other half for later. Their soups are good too. I love a good homemade soup and they offer theirs year round. They make their bread homemade. It's so delicious. It crusty on the outside but soft and pillowy on the inside, but holds up to whatever you decide to fill it with. I always purchase a loaf to bring home for dinner that night for my family. They offer free samples of items to try. Who doesn't like free samples??? Give them a try you will not be disappointed. read more

What a deli! The only problem you have in Bella's is narrowing down exactly what you want to eat, everything is terrific!! From deserts, to ready made entrees they can't be beat when it comes to having a consistently delicious meal. I love getting a chicken parm wrap, great way to have an on the go sandwich that's quick and easy to eat. Today I had chicken and broccoli which is seasoned to perfection with very lightly breaded chicken. Got a couple sandwiches to go here. My bf had a chicken sandwich that was good, but I got the sausage and rabies sandwich and it was not so good. There was an overall strange taste to the sandwich, almost as if it had been made a while ago. Like too long ago. The taste was worse than the smell. BF had a taste and he agreed it was off. We both suffered from pretty bad stomach pain later that night/the next day. Maybe it was a fluke, and if we had eaten at the deli I would have let them know. Also, there wasn't much of a selection besides a fairly extensive sandwich menu. I might be biased, since I'm very used to shopping/eating at Venda and Italian Corner. I can just relax in their comfortable eating area with my book, a delicious half-sandwich (the portions are very generous) and a cup of their robust decaf coffee freshly brewed (they even include a sample Toblerone)! Let me start by saying that 'most' of their food is amazing! Their chicken salad is truly the best chicken salad I've ever tasted... and so many dishes have been great there.... the marinated mushrooms are great... I must say, though, that I was really disappointed when I ordered the eggplant parmesan..... I got it home and could barely cut through it, it was so tough and 'chewy'.... the sauce was delicious, but the actual eggplant was awful tasting.... I don't know if it was undercooked, old eggplant, or what.... And the bread that a lot of people seem to love is very 'tasteless' to me... was never a fan of their white roll bread... But given those few things.... the bulk of their food has always been really good and I will definitely go back.... hope they work on their eggplant, though. read more
