The meat taste excellent! Personally I'm not a fan of the beans but the mac and cheese and coleslaw are worth getting next time! I'm also not a fan of the side of veggies. My nitpicky toddler even loves the mac and cheese and ribs! Service was excellent the place was packed little over an hour after they opened on a Thursday. Wait time was reasonable as there was quite a few orders being brought out. They had a TV for entertainment in there and was quite toasty. Got to order to go and unfortunately the baked beans spilled on the inside of the bag all over the containers of mac and cheese and our other two main dishes. Brisket was excellent. Juicy and not dry. The ribs were okay. They seemed too wet. They came off the bone just fine. I would have preferred them without sauce but the sauce was put on them. It is evident that the people who eat here and rate this place 4 star plus have NEVER had decent BBQ. They say it is Texas style and I can tell you it is NOT, NOT even close. The "Texas baked" beans are served in chili powder water with NO taste except the chili powder. close slaw had NO seasoning/NO flavor. I tried a bite of the Brisket and it was dry and tasteless. Had the ribs and they were overcooked, and covered in added BBQ sauce. The Zucchini and peppers were drowned in oil and vinegar. The soda was OK but the tea was VERY weak. I have had BBQ the world over (Texas, Carolinas, Memphis, AL, MS and Louisiana plus many others) and this was the worst that I have ever had. Went and ordered a TNT burrito for 18.00 and it was a decent size nothing spectacular for 18.00. The burrito had lots of fat and gristle, the bacon was soggy, the sausage they put in it was girstley and the Mac and cheese was tasteless and watered down. The quesadilla I ordered was 11.00 and didn't even get a half of a quesadilla....the tortilla wasn't even cooked it was just plain tortilla, hardly any meat and no cheese. I've been going to Danny's for years because it is the best BBQ joint within a radius distance of a nuclear bomb. I finally had their TNT burrito, and it is spectacular in taste, design, thought and price. Danny is sitting on an unbelievable gold mine if they were to offer the TNT with choices. Let the customer have one or two meat choices and two or three sides of their choice. They have all the meats and all the sides just combo them together. For example: I would personally order brisket, pork rib meat, mac and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. All rolled up in a flour tortilla. Something to digest. Let's get to it - the BBQ was decent with large portions, tender ribs that fell off the bone and a nice mound of pulled pork. Prices were extremely reasonable given portions. The letdown were the sides and the sauce - sides were a bit bland (Mac and cheese and beans and potato salad. The BQ itself also had less spice or flavor - it's missing a good rub. The sauce was just ok and only one flavor. I had to add cholula to the very bland but hearty beans. I'm super tempted to rate at 4 stars overall for value but Yelp is about the food. Good Texas Style BBQ. I ordered the Brisket meal. Most of my brisket was a little tough for my taste but the star of the show was the grilled vegetables. I would go back just for the grilled vegetables. The smoked mac and cheese was good but not very smokey for Texas BBQ and the Texas toast, average but the brisket sandwich with the potato salad was good. The next time I'm in the area, I'm definitely stopping for the grilled vegetables ant to try thei brisket burrito. Overall, it was a good experience and I'll be back again to try some more. The staff was friendly and I like the way they have their seating set up both inside and out on the covered porch. If you need ADA access, it's at the end of the sidewalk on the right side of the restaurant and easy to miss if someone is parked between the handicap parking and the ADA cut in the sidewalk. I remember when Danny's was based on Bainbridge Island so many years ago, and my first venture in was really great. They moved to Silverdale and leveled up. Danny told me that his brisket would come close to being as good as my mom's, who was from Texas and had recently passed away. I took him on in the challenge and, while not quite as delicious as my mom's, Danny did alright. They always have good customer service and quick ordering and preparing the food. They boast a unique and extensive enough menu. The prices are decent. The potato salad is usually good. This time good but way too salty. The portions are great. This time and the last time my ribs were slightly overcooked and dry. I straight-up don't like the Mac and cheese. Not cheesy, the meat in it is unnecessary, and the amount of pepper they use to season it is all I taste. I do recommend that you try the food here. My only reason for giving it a 3 stars is because of the issues with the food I mentioned above. read more

We were in the area running some errands and shopping, working up an appetite so we decided to look for a local restaurant to try rather than wait until we got back home. I came across Danny's BBQ on Yelp and after reading the good reviews, decided to stop by and try. When we walked in the employee greeted us and informed us that they were out of chicken for the day, which was fine because we already knew what we wanted. We placed our order, decided to dine in so we sat down at a table and waited for our food to be brought out (which took maybe 10 minutes)! I ordered the pulled pork meal - comes with Texas toast and two sides... I opted for the Mac and cheese and baked beans. My husband ordered the ribs meal with the same two sides, I tried to get a picture of his food - but he was already digging in. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The texture was spot on as well, with some softer pieces and some harder pieces. The Mac and cheese was so flavorful, the texture was spot on (not mushy whatsoever or dry). The beans... were phenomenal. You know how some BBQ place have your typical "canned beans" baked beans taste, not these! They almost tasted like chili beans but had pulled pork pieces throughout. The plate as a whole was great and did not disappoint! It is a smaller restaurant with only a handful of tables inside and a few picnic benches outside (for nicer weather days) but luckily alot of customers were ordering to go, so it was just us dining in. We were passing through Silverdale and was recommended to try this by a friend. There was no disappointment here. I haven't actually had a good BBQ yet since moving to WA, and this was AMAZING. Upon walking in we were greeted by this really friendly lady, and it was very quick and easy. The baby back rib meal was pretty good, I loved that you could pick two sides. The Mac and cheese was to die for, I love the pepper in it, and perfect seasoning. The ribs were really meaty and kind of juicy, amazing bbq sauce. The brisket was to DIE for! Juicy, bomb flavor, and so soft. The pulled pork sandwhich was great, it had an egg and some smoky sausage which was pretty good. Service was a 10/10, food was a 10/10! Easy parking and not too busy. Lots of great reviews here so maybe my experience wasn't the norm. I tried the bbq chicken plate which I expected to be pulled chicken. It wasn't, and that may have just been a misunderstanding on my part. It was sliced and somewhat chewy. It didn't melt in your mouth. First two bites had cartilage in them so I spit them out. This place is called Texas style, so I expected the chicken to come with no bbq sauce on it, but sauce was drizzled all over it. The sauce was sweet and not very spicy. The sides were not great. Beans are watery, and Mac salad was basic. Texas toast was fine, and pickles with red onion slivers were a weird addition. All this for $20. I won't be going back here. read more

So, we stop and give it a try and Oh my! These people know BBQ. My wife had a brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwich. We ordered Cole slaw and beans as sides to split. About 7 minutes later we have our food and the sandwiches are huge. We could have split one. They go really light with the sauces, but before you help yourself to a the sauce condiments take a bite and savor the goodness of smoked meats done by someone who knows what they're doing. It's amazing and you don't have to smother it in sauce to make it BBQ. Our sandwiches were wonderfully moist no dried out crusty stuff here! Another thing you won't get here is a giant bun to fill you up. No, their buns were light fresh and just sufficient for hold what seems like a 1/2 lbs of meat. First, this place is small inside, so be prepared to take it to-go (order via phone would be best) or sit outside. Their smokers are outside so you can see that they are legit. They claim they are Texas BBQ, so I put them to the test by bringing my kids for my eldest's birthday (the two oldest spend most of their year in Texas). We got the pulled pork quesadilla, The Brick sandwich, and 2 orders of the smoked chicken with mac and cheese, grilled veggies, and coleslaw as sides. The Brick lives up to its name, it was enormous. I could barely get my mouth around it for a bite. All the meats and the sauce were so delicious! The smoked chicken was my favorite, and I enjoy that there are different sauces to use on the meats. I lean toward vinegar-based myself, but my kids like the smokier sauce. The pulled pork quesadilla was a hit also, as my pickiest eater ate two portions. I know your business is closed on MONDAY. I know it costs money if you cook a lot of food on Sunday. I know you have to throw away food if you do not sale all of it the same day. However, your restaurant is always packed. Of course you can expect to run out of food. What does it say about a business that turns away customers because you run out of food before closing.? We come in to buy your product and waste time and gas to get to your establishment. Please do some internal management to make sure all customers are satisfied. Thats like Popeyes running out of chicken. I drove all the way from GIG Harbor to get ribs for a group of people. Imagine the disappointment on the faces of 40 people when I came back empty handed. read more

So I've been looking for a good bbq place since I moved here, tried a couple of places but Danny's by far is the best out of all of them. True Texas style bbq, I like the ribs, although I'd like them to be a bit more juicier and fall off the bone style, these ribs did the job for me. Brisket was great, and juicy, flavor was good. Mac and cheese and the beans were good according to my gf, oh she also liked their cornbread (not pictured). The service was great, greeted by friendly faces, the place is a bit small probably 8 tables or so, but it seems like most of their orders are to-go because they're phones were ringing and I could heat them take orders over the phone. Overall I'd recommend this place if you live in the Kitsap area, are they the best? I would say yes they are the best that you could find here in Kitsap county. Would have been nice to have an option to have have a plate with more than one kind of meat with out having to ask. I thought having a burrito on a bbq menue was strange. My husband is a BBQ snob. He's also like a pregnant woman and when he craves something, he must get it. BBQ has been a rough go while living in Kitsap. Dickeys being closest to us got our first business, and that was a monumental mistake. Then BBQ2U got us next, which we love! But it's a bit of a hike for us to get on a whim. We found Danny's BBQ driving back home from Poulsbo. My husband saw the sign on the corner and we were both hungry, so we decided to stop and give it a try. They have a few tables inside (about 10) and 4 picnic tables outside. We sat outside the first time we stopped by, and again today when we went back. Such a relaxing setting! Both times the brisket was divine and the side dishes were also delicious. We tried the ribs and the brisket, the smoked mac and cheese- spicy and smokey deliciousness, the Texas baked beans, and the coleslaw. Everything was great and on point. If there is one thing I would change would be to have honey butter to go with the cornbread, but that's just a personal preference. Definitely became one of our faves! read more

We were looking for dinner in Poulsbo and found Danny's BBQ on Yelp. We were very pleased! It was a quick 10-15 minute drive and amazing food! Small place and I probably wouldn't have noticed it from the outside but I'm so glad we ended up here! The meats and sides were delicious! Great portions, fresh and hot. We couldn't believe how juicy the meat was. The Mac n cheese was very rich and creamy, with bits of smoked meat - I think pork? The coleslaw was very flavorful with green cabbage, red cabbage and carrots. The meat isn't covered in BBQ sauce, and they had bottles available so we could add more. The cornbread was a little dry, but I'd order everything else again. Wish we lived closer - it's a ferry ride or an hour and a half drive, but we will be back! read more

I thought I'd give this place a chance again after trying it about a year ago, but man nothing has changed. This is gonna sound crazy, but they microwave All their food !! The microwave is in plain sight, right Behind the cash register. When you buy your food, they wrap it in TOXIC PARTCHMENT PAPER and MICROWAVE IT !!! HOW INSANE IS THAT !! So I asked the lady when she gave me my food why they microwaved the food and she had to walk back into the room and talk to a manager and comes back out and tells me that the food is microwaved, because they don't cook it thoroughly on the smoker, and they need to microwave.It to get it to an edible temperature.......Seriously lol?? I've eaten at some of the most high-end barbecue places in our country. And I can honestly tell you, this is the only place i've ever seen.Microwave your cooked food CRAZINESS !! I visited Denny's on a Tuesday where they had a taco Tuesday special. I had a brisket and a pork taco. Both were delicious but the brisket was absolutely a must have.
