Half price appetizers in the bar during the week, what's not to like. The Alaskan King crab legs are to die for!!!

Our wedding was just a week ago (June 20th) and it was more than I could have imagined. I did not completely know how to put everything together in our room to make it look nice, but Karen definitely helped me out along the way. From the beginning, she was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. We had our food tasting before we booked and the food was fantastic! I truly felt at ease with the wedding planning, knowing that I had made a good choice for our venue. They were very accommodating with my requests for our wedding and helped with some of the decision making that I was having trouble with (and gave suggested vendors). Our cake was included in our package and turned out beautiful. The room looked great on the day of and they had set up everything exactly the way I wanted it. The food was delicious and tasted the same as during our food tasting. They really had everything organized and were there for us every step of the way, especially when I had to bring all of my home made centerpieces a few days before. =P I guess the bottom line is that they really included everything I wanted for a reasonable price and made everything perfect for our wedding day! Definitely recommend Venuti's to anyone in the Chicagoland area! read more

First time visit as part of a business lunch and was very impressed. Atmosphere and decor were very nice. The service was probably the best I have had as the server made sure our drinks were never empty and dirty plates were promptly removed. The food selection and quality were very good, especially for a lunch buffet. I definitely will return. read more

Went for dinner tonight. The server brought the bread, olive oil and Parmesan cheese, I said "oh, the good stuff" and he said "if ya think so". The waiter had no personality. Ordered the manicotti, it was flavorless. The waiter came by and dropped the checkbook on the table as he was walking by and said "thank you" with no eye contact the whole time. The only friendly person there was the valet guy and I wasn't even valet parking. read more

Went back again, service was better but still not what you would expect from this type of restaurant. Food is really good though, so we are probably going to continue to dine here because the food is good and the service is probably just hit or miss. read more

We got married this past June. We worked with PAT who did an exceptional job. Keeping the bride calm and just being an all over good person to go to with any questions. He worked with my new husband and I to help make our wonderful day affordable. The Pro's: the food was amazing (lots of it), the place is BEAUTIFUL (we got so many compliments), and the wait staff rocked! Cons: The only two cons I would say would be the air conditioning was not good the day of our wedding. We used the chapel to get married in and didn't think about all the people that would be crammed into that small of a space. I wished we were informed about that before hand. BODY heat to the max.. so things to think about. Also the day of, our wedding coordinator switched twice on us. However they accommodated us with making sure the overall wedding ran smoothly. Which we received compliments on the timing of how things ran so well :) still destructive for a bride and grooms nerves. But with the help of Candito and Sierra (BOTH were amazing to work with and so considerate! Sierra - helped my mother in law set up flowers before the wedding and day events. Candito - was the go to man for the reception/everything. Shout out to him for helping make my day what it was) overall they deserve five stars!!! A group of us dined at Venuti's restaurant last night . It has been awhile since we have eaten in the restaurant and decided to give it another chance. The presentation of the food from the first appetizer placed in front of us was very sub-par. Sagging wilted romaine lettuce was the garnish for calamari. We do eat with our eyes and this was not appealing to me. I removed the lettuce to pass to the other guests . Then the main entrees came. Again disappointment, the eggplant was overloaded with pasty sauce. The crowning moment came with the caprese salad, served with tomatoes that had been dressed probably since the day before. We remarked to the waitress about it, having not eaten any of it. She remarked that the manager, Frank Venuti, would come to the table. He did and then never offered to remake the salad. He was rude and unwelcoming. In the end he charged us for the unappealing old salad. We remarked that it was not eaten, he offered to remove $ 2.00 from the bill. That was the ultimate end. We could have punished the waitress by not tipping on a 150.00 check but we were much classier than the owner, who obviously was not only, classless , but rude. Never again.!!!! read more

I've been coming to this restaurant since it opened in addison and I've always had an amazing experience. The staff has always been amazing. My family and I have been here for graduation parties, nearly every birthday and they even accommodated us and stayed open late after a funeral. However tonight our experience was different. We went for my birthday as we usually do and my boyfriend got up to use the bathroom. Upon return he was asked to cover himself up due to his tattoo showing. No where is it posted that tattoos are unacceptable in the restaurant. As I stated we've been there hundreds of times and neither myself or boyfriend or any friends who have tattoos have been asked to cover ourselves. My boyfriend currently has a broken arm and has a cast which he is unable to cover with any clothing. The staff then proceeded to stare at our table for the rest of the night. Our waiter seemed nice until the end of the night when we received the check. He asked if we would make sure to tip in cash to ensure he would receive a tip. I found tonight to be a very odd and awkward experience and I have never been unhappy with service here until today. Maybe there is new management/staff? Either way I'm not sure we will be returning since apparently tattoos are unacceptable. read more

I don't think this is authentic Italian. It's best described as good mass-catered food - that's what it tasted like to me - lots of rich sauces and soups that reminded me of dinners at past weddings (no surprise, since the place is also a banquet hall) But the prices are reasonable for what the food is and the staff is nice. read more

Went there on Sunday for lunch. There was only one other table occupied. Ordered two meals and Three drinks. We ordered bar vodka strait up, instead of the waiter telling us they had no bar vodka they preceeded to bring Grey Goose at $10 each. Three drinks cost more than two full meals. Camplained to waiter and called The manager to complain. Frank Venuti was rude, asked me when I was coming back, he'd buy me a drink. No wonder there was no-one in the place. read more

Listen this place is BEAUTIFUL. The food "Out of this World". Our Server "Super Friendly" This is the place. We have had great food. You should hit there 18.95 Buffet on Sundays. So much to chose from. Muscles and pasta, "To Die For" Mouch Watering Seafood Salad. and the ambiance is spectacular. If you have time or are near Addsion, Yaaaaaaay for This Place. This was not the first or second time I have eaten here. I am very unhappy with the quality of the food. I have tried the menu and the buffet and both times they were tasteless. The staff is mostly rude. Today I had to go there, not by choice, and they were so rude. The food was bad, and they kept bothering us and rushing us to leave because they wanted the certain table that was requested by another party. Very unprofessional. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

We recently had our Wedding Reception in September at Venuti's. We worked with Pat and were expecting great service and the items listed in our contract. We did not receive what we wanted in our contract and were extremely disappointed in the service we received. We had emailed Venuti's the day after our wedding reception to discuss these issues. We live in another state and weren't able to set up a time. No one ever got back to us about We found out last minute that the chef messed up our desserts so they were going to throw in a fruit platter for the guests. The fruit platter was very small. Our tables were suppose to have Cabernet instead of Merlot as my husband hates Merlot and of course Merlot was on every table. They also ran out of Glenlivet even though we are clearly discussed this with Pat at our last final meeting before the event and was one of the reasons why we even booked Venuti's! (The bartender told us they only had 9 bottles for our wedding reception and the event next door!!!) All of our guests complained about how a lot of them didn't get any appetizers that were passed even me and my husband didn't get any at all. Our dinner was suppose to start a specified time and it did not (our wedding planner was blamed for the delay when in fact the kitchen wasn't even ready to serve). There was a huge delay in between courses as well. My husband and I didn't even get a chance to eat a full dinner, we only had soup/salad because our program was delayed based on the delay of dinner being serviced. The salad was completely soggy and not even edible. We felt that Venuti's wasn't able to handle a wedding reception of 400 people and unfortunately we do regret out decision. Please keep all of these in mind before booking here as we were extremely unhappy with our service and have still yet to hear from anyone!!! read more

Venuti's dinner is very good, but I am writing this review on behalf the recent wedding shower that I had at Venuti's banquets. I was very disappointed in the food. We ordered chicken piccata and London broil for our guests, and both options weren't very good. The chicken portion was TINY, and had a basic cream sauce without capers, that wasn't very lemony. The London broil meal consisted of a few very thin slices of beef that weren't very tasty. It was like sliced Italian beef on a plate. Worst of all the food was cold, like it had been sitting for a while before being served. I was very upset because coming from a Mediterranean family, food is important, and a lot of people did not enjoy themselves at my shower. My last complaint is that the carpets were very dirty. I'm wondering if there was a wedding the night before that they didn't clean up after. Overall a very disappointing experience. For future baptisms, birthdays and other events, we will no longer consider Venuti's. read more

HORRIBLE !!! We had a reservation for dinner in the bar and to see a live band that was performing tonight. Our waitress was bothered from the minute we sat down. Wasn't friendly, never told us the specials, we begged for drinks all night. No bus boy/girl so we never got refills on water. Dirty plates sat on the table all night. She rushed us to place our dinner order and then it never came. Table next to ours ordered after us and got their food long before us. Had to track waitress down at the bar and ask her where our food was. Then it magically appeared. Food wasn't good. They served my linguini and clams with clams that didn't open - THAT MEANS THEY'RE BAD CLAMS! You don't serve that!. The ultimate insult - the bill came with a 20% tip already added in! Seriously? We were 7 people, not 20. Who adds in 20%? Our group always tips MORE than 20% but this waitress wasn't getting it, no way. Worst service ever, would never go back. read more

Went here for "opera" nite this past week. Food was OK, but just OK. I guess when you're eating what nearly 300 other people are eating, and the food is prepared and served "en mass" it's hard to get really good food that's not room temperature, and that's really good. The disappointment was the "opera" music. Two of the men singers (the "master of ceremonies" and the Korean guy) had really nice voices. The third guy was pretty good. The two women were not good, one of whom was especially bad. The musical selections (some opera and some other music) left something to be desired (with a few exceptions), and at times werewere so bad they were painful to listen to. The real turn-off was the guy who hosted the event... he tried to be funny, but definitely WAS NOT, and he waisted MUCH time horsing around with the singers and the audience. I would say we could have gotten out of there AT LEAST 30-40 minutes earlier if he had SHUT HIS MOUTH. But all in all I'm not sorry I went to this event. The other people at our table were very friendly and the wine was pretty good. read more

ehhh............. went there for sunday brunch today. not to good. nobody in our group really liked it. food was average at best. service was average or below average. the venue is nice, but there is something weird about this place. when there are very few people there at 11:30 for a sunday brunch @ $21/person, something must be wrong. all other breakfast places in the area are packed at 11:30. the way they have the food presented at the buffet is very strange. never seen it like that before. there are 2 levels of food. the upper level is like 5' high. if you are shorter than about 5'4" you can't even see what is up there and can barely reach it. their dessert selection was non-existent. literally 3 items - all of which were not good. they have lots of nice looking salads, but they don't taste good. if you do go for sunday brunch, i would suggest a freshly made omelette. nothing else worth getting. very strange food selection for a sunday brunch. nothing really is setup or coordinated properly. it's one of those Italian places that must cater to only Italians or something (I'm not Italian). it's a beautiful place, but the food and service and experience was not good. read more

Booked our wedding for 3/31 next year and it was less than a wonderful experience. I was excited at first to have found this place and its amenities until I received a call from our sales person, Pat Bruni a month ago. The one thing you hope as a bride never to hear, "you've been double booked." We booked the Verona (windowless room) + Volare (middle room). It appeared another bride booked the Venezia + Volare as well. They called to ask if we could minimize our headcount to squeeze into the smaller room alone. We couldn't and the fact that they requested it was not comforting to begin with. In the end, I was bumped from using the middle room since the other bride signed first (thus not allowing us to host our previous 200 count wedding). It was a terrible feeling to be considered a second rate bride. When we tried to negotiate, they casually wanted to move us to another date - 3 months away. They didn't consider that save the dates were printed, vendors were already booked - money had been spent but it was irrelevant. They also threw in our face that we had no rights indicating that we didn't have a signed contract - even though we clearly had made a deposit and second payment - thus making this an implied contract as they received funds for services. We have cancelled our wedding completely and will be hosting our wedding downtown instead. We're beyond disappointed and hope no other couple will experience this throughout their wedding planning process. We followed everything by the book and to made to feel like this was our fault was ridiculous. To quote the owner Frank, who I'm sure will write a rebuttal to this, "I admit I make mistakes, (points directly at us) but YOU, you make mistakes too." Hmmm...really??? Recognizing your error means apologizing, yes, but not placing blame on others and in turn, making others feel guilty for your error. With all this said, good luck to those already booked here. I would pay very close attention to the details of your wedding and ensure errors like these don't happen to you. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason - I'm much more comfortable knowing I don't have to work with this establishment anymore. read more

Where shall I start... Just walking up to the beautifully structured establishment gave us the true Italian experience. When we walked in, the young lady at the desk greeted us with a smile and gave us a table next to the Gorgeous fireplace which was the perfect ambiance for our anniversary celebration... Our waiter took the time to describe the specials for the day in detail and suggested the best bottle wine to complement our seafood. I had the Pan Seared Chilean Seabass and my husband had the Mahi Mahi which were both incredibly fresh and delicious! The restaurant was very busy but the staff was very attentive and right on point. Our waiter suggested to try the home made lemoncello for an after dinner drink and the tiramisu to finish off our evening and I'm glad we took his advice! They were both very good! I will be back very soon and will suggest Venutis to anyone! Thank you for making our night special! read more

Last night was our first visit to venuti's. It was fabulous and we will be sure to return. We first met Frank he was so professional yet accommodating and friendly at the same time. He talked to us about the venuti's story and talked about the menu so that we would have knowledge on what to pair with main course appetizers and the drinks since it was our first visit. He asked us our names and continue to call us by our first names throughout our visit. We sat in the bar first and had a few cocktails before dinner and Frank save a beautiful table right next to the fire place for us. Frank came to our table a couple of times to see how we were doing and also brought us a fantastic Italian drink after the meal. Our food was absolutely fabulous the timing was perfect for the appetizer and the main course so we had time to enjoy and savor every bite. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations especially for the blue cheese salad we then went into the lounge to do some dancing. The bartenders were so friendly and the people that were there were friendly as well. Being new to the area we found that this is probably going to be our favorite place to go and see some entertainment have cocktails and a wonderful dinner all at the same place. Thank you Frank for being so kind and thank you venuties. We also got to meet mr. Venuti and he let us sit at his table and talk with him for a few minutes. We had our wedding there in October. We picked this location because it is absolutely beautiful and the food is incredible! However, the day of our wedding was nothing but problems. We walked into the venue the day of our wedding to find our guests in the hallway waiting to get in when the doors should have been opened 20 mins prior. The bar wasn't even open! There were empty tables in the hallway that I specifically asked not to be there. Our seating chart was not where I asked it to be and our card box was not placed in a spot anyone could see! When I walked into the room the candles were not lit, the lights were still all on, and the head table didn't have the right amount of chairs/seating arrangements and the seating cards for the head table were just thrown there in their boxes and not in the order I asked them to be in. When I found someone to ask what is going on, he did not have the seating chart I gave to our planner and he also didn't have the correct time the wedding was supposed to start. He had it was supposed to start at 7:30 when it was supposed to start at 6:30. So, in reality that was the whole problem. They thought they had all this time but they didn't. So, because of that the food sucked and was cold, there were less than half of the appetizers that we ordered and overall the staff was completely terrible. There I was in my wedding gown getting the head table in order! That should have never happened!! On top of that, they didn't know there were people who needed different dinners due to food allergies. I am so disappointing in this venue. Whenever I think of my wedding day, I think of pure disappointment. It was truly awful and when I went in to complain to our wedding planner. She didn't believe me! I am so glad I brought in all our paper work that said all the information that was not given to their staff. I received an "I'm so sorry" and that was it! I can't believe this. If you want to have a wedding here make you call the day before to make sure everything is good to go because you don't want this to happen to you. It was just awful. read more

we had our wedding at Venuti's.could not be happier with our choice.our guests still talk about it.they all loved it.we had a lot od guests that smoke and the balcony was great for them.they were able to tke their drink out and enjoy.organization was perfect.karen was our wedding cordinator and she was amazing.she made everything happen in just 2 months.i highly recommend venutis for your wedding.you will not be dissapointed.so relaxing,and the package they give you you will not find anywhere else.karen trully made our day to remember.we looked at so many different locations,but they all seamed too small or too dark with your guests smoking on a parking lot.after all we wanted them to enjoy as much as us.they also had free valet parking which made a vip for our guests.the best thing i liked about Venutis was the banquet with windows.other places that we looked were all closed spaces and very basment feel.thank you Venutis for making our day so special. read more
