We stopped by for lunch over the weekend. I ordered a drink, Vera single patty with cheese and a poutine. My family ordered a Cajun burger combo and a hot dog. Staff were great. They knew to serve the child first and dropped off the hot dog at our table. The rest of the meal arrived after a short wait. My meal was tasty. Burger was made well with fresh ingredients. The bun was soft. Poutine was a generous portion with a good amount of gravy and cheese curds. It was a satisfying meal. My kid finished his hot dog. My husband said his Cajun burger was good. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Same with the restroom. This is a great burger option if you do not mind spending a bit more money for some better quality burgers compared to fast food options. read more

I had the Buffalo chicken burger. It was very good. I also got the chilli cheese fries. It's the worst ever. Fries were good but there was such a little amount of chilli, it was criminal. The chilli covered about 20% of the top of the fries with a little shredded cheese. I told them that it was outrageous the amount of chilli they put on it. I said chilli fries should be smothered in chilli. The put a little more on so it only covered 40% of the fries. Also the chilli was not even hot. read more

THESE BURGERS ARE BOMB!! I don't understand why the ratings for this place aren't higher. I wish I had a picture of my food but it was so danggg delicious that before I knew it my burger was gone ! I got the Cajun burger and added fried onions for no additional charge may I add... and seriously it was FLAVOUR TOWN !! The meat has so much flavour the cheese has so much flavour the SAUCES! They have price on board that are cheaper then the price on the till, they have are charging people $2 dollars more for burgers then being advertised..when asked they said the price has changed...I don't recommend this location...big time price gauging read more

The good point for this restaurant is, preparation of anything is in front of you and it's really clean. The only problem is the price. I paid $48 for attached picture, that's a double burger with egg as a topping, three slices chicken and one Chicken burger. I believe it's a little high price for these sizes of foods. Sub-par tasteless burgers. Not really worth the price nor the recognition of "winner of best burger for 7 years". Upon my visit, the place was a ghost town. I would recommend visiting other burger joints in the area or grab angus chuck and medium and mix it yourself at home with a couple seasonings and will still be cheaper and have more flavour than eating here. read more

I've been a regular customer here since they opened. New management now and still support them until tonight. Was craving chicken wings tonight so decided on their hot wings this time. I've had them before and liked them but tonight's were terrible. They were swimming in the sauce. Not just coated, more like hot wing stew. I came to Vera's after trying Fatburger, mainly because of several Fatburger reviews where people compared the two restaurant chains, and mentioned how much better the burgers at Vera's Burger Shack are. Sooooo.... I'm going to keep this review very short and to the point: I've just had the best burger chain burger that I've EVER had in my life! I'm not kidding, and I'm not exaggerating. The guy at the restaurant showed me the broiler, and it looks similar to how they do a toasted sub at Quizno's; the burger patty goes in at one end raw, and comes out done at the other end perfectly (and also consistently) done. One nice comparison with Fatburger is that the burger I had at Vera's was NOT loaded with a couple of ounces of liquid dripping all over the place. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and the burger was not greasy. The basket of fries was huge, about double the size of Fatburger's respectable side of fries, but much better, although I would have preferred that they not add salt, as they have a salt shaker at the table, so I can add it if I want it, which I don't. But they weren't overly salty. BEER ON TAP! Granville Isle. pale ale and lager. Next time! (had a shake this time) The burgers here are on the pricey side, but I had to say that they are worth the money. You can upgrade your burger with roasted garlic and other niceties, and easily turn your seven dollar burger into a 20 plus dollar thing if you really want to, but I suspect that the ROI would rapidly diminish as you add more and more of their expensive toppings. Just keeping the burger simple, with the addition of roasted garlic, was great. It didn't really need anything else. I'll add that I got mine with no mayo or 'Vera's Sauce' (really just mayo with garlic). 'nuff said. This review is a bit longer than I intended to make it, but I'll leave it as is. Meh. I Have experienced better! So Vera's finally opened out here in what is basically Langley, but still considered Surrey. Gave it a try tonight, not very happy with them. I gave them time to open and get hiccups out of the way. Their menu is kind of weird, its up against the wall by the till, you have to look at it on a funny angle. Plus it stops other standing behind you in line from looking at it. So I came in, and stood at the till. There were three employees standing near the back, and one sitting at a table near the back. At first I wasn't paid any attention and I thought maybe I was supposed to go to the back to order. Eventually though, a guy came up. I don't know if he was new or what but he seemed unsure of himself. Eventually I paid and he wanted me to sign the debit copy, which I told him I didn't need to, thanks. Grabbed my drink and went to look for a table. There are maybe 6 or 7 in a row on one side, and then two more on the other side near the front. One table is a half table. Although there was no one sitting at most of the tables, and the employees had time to be all hanging out at the back, over half the tables were dirty, unwiped and with the previous peoples leftovers etc still on the table. I looked around at the employees like, hint hint! I'd like a clean table if possible! But they ignored my pleading glances. I sat down at a dirty table and awaited my food. The burger itself was alright, but tasted different than the one I had at the now closed Fraser Heights location (Baja burger). Don't know why! I wish I could give this location zero stars. Now I'm not sure why but this location uses a totally different cooking method as compared to the other stores including the one on Highway 10 at Highway 15. At the Highway 10 location they use an actual flame grill and the burgers here are absolutely fantastic... Juicy and delicious. However this location on Fraser Highway uses some sort of conveyor belt grill. They put the patty down and it slowly slides through the machine and comes out the other side. The result is a pathetic oily/greasy disgusting patty!! I didn't even finish it... But at the other locations I'm sad to see the end of the burger! It's stunning to see the difference between two Vera's store that are 15 minutes away from each other. The difference is night and day. I'm not sure why since they're obviously a franchise that they would have two different cooking techniques??? If you're craving a delicious burger DON'T stop at the 188 and Fraser location... Drive the extra 15 minutes to the other location and get yourself a properly flame grilled burger from the REAL Vera's Burger! read more

Nice little space... just off of Fraser Hwy in an extended strip mall complex.... Ordering went quickly... it wasn't super busy at the time we were there, so the food production went pretty quick too. We ordered the Monday special (Canuck burger... bacon/chedar), and made one of the included fries into a poutine (small up charge for that). The fries were smoking hot when they came to us (the burger... not as much so... not cold, just not as blistering hot). This made the poutine cheese melt quickly... the gravy was hot too, but salty as all get out. Overall... a fairly average Vera's visit... which is nice the age of Vera's franchise era... consistency and quality are usually hit and miss now... so... good on ya for a nice visit. read more

Went to the Vera's in Pitt Meadows for the first time at any Vera's. Had a taste for a burger and it was close to the theatre so figured we'd give it a try. When we saw they had a Philly Cheesesteak however we had to change our order and I am SO glad I did! It was simply amazing! AMAZING! Was so good that I had to go back again with some friends one who followed my lead and also raved about it! They also had the Sweet Potato Fries which they said were scrumptious too. That plus the beer they offer makes this place my new Go To fave! One day I'll have to try their burger but it will be awhile before I can get by their amazing Philly Cheesesteak! Bravo! read more

Garbage, don't waste your time, poor quality ingredients and place was not particularly clean.

Very impressed! Had the Canuck burger which batted way above its $9.50 price tag. Fresh and cooked perfectly. The only flaw is the menu / ordering system. A little awkward. I'll be back though! read more

Burger was so overcook yet really greasy at same time. No real taste to it... Ordered onion rings as i am not really a fry guy. Socky greasy and just plane gross. Three words... The Big Chick. Where else can you get nearly a whole grilled chicken breast covered in provolone (props for using an expensive cheese) and BACON? Not just a wimpy little strip of bacon either, but two nice big juicy strips that hang off the sides. The fries were also excellent, not too greasy and a little on the crunchy over-fried stage that I like. And the chocolate shake....how to describe the chocolate shake...heavenly? Perfection? Agree with the awkwardness of the menu location, especially since there's so many burger variations to look at, but it's well worth the wait to get served that amazing burger. Come hungry, and take lots of napkins from the table dispenser right off the bat, you'll need 'em! read more

I took my son to Vera's in Surrey on Fraser Hwy recently. I ordered a BBQ burger, and my son had a Bacon Chees burger. Service was quick and friendly, but the burgers were not stellar. My BBQ sandwich was lacking that prime ingredient that I always look for; flavour. As I was mulling this over, my teenaged son, who will eat just about anything, and in copious amounts, turned to me and said, "These aren't very good burgers, are they?" If a teenaged boy cannot find anything to like about a burger, you've got trouble. Might try it again, as the Vera's on Denman was always good. read more

I was in the area, so decided to give it a try and ordered a burger to go. I thought the food was very expensive for what it was. Cheapest burger was $6, and for that price, it came with nothing. To have a burger, fries, and a pop, you're looking at over $11. There were two people working behind the counter, neither of which seem to understand the basics of food safety. Hand washing was at best a 5 second affair, then after washing hands both people constantly re-contaminated their hands by touching the counter, customer's baskets, coupons and counter beside the cash register, and so on, then went back and--without re-washing hands--"assembled" more burgers, touching lettuce, tomatoes, buns, etc. It was bad enough that I requested a new burger because I saw that dirty hands had assembled it. They did, but were not happy and said I was over-reacting. The guy wore gloves the second time around, but even with that, contaminated the gloves on the public ketchup dispenser. I am not impressed! I will never eat there again and would not recommend anyone else either. read more

I decided to go to Vera's Burger shack since I heard alot about it . I wasnt happy with the burgers there . The burger were juicy and the topping were spot on . But with little to no sauce on the burger , It fall flat on it . After spending almost 10.50 for JUST the burger ( canuck burger with mushrooms) , You should be just loving it but sadly I was complaining about it . White spot burger is better than this one or Red robin . The fries were good and the chili , My wife loved it but since I would be going there for the burgers . This is a welcome step up from fast food burgers-the food is pretty good, the staff has always been friendly when I've been in and although it's a little bit over priced it's not a bad value for your dollar :) It's a clean restaurant as well and a lot of take out orders are placed. Overall a good restaurant. The location is a good and is probably one of the better secrets in Pitt Meadows. Both my girlfriend and myself ordered the traditional BLT Burger with garlic mayo on the bun. read more

We're in the area visiting from Oregon and because AT&T wanted to charge us $15 for data access while in Canada, we were temporarily iPhone-less, so we couldn't check our Yelp app to pick someplace to eat after visiting the Newton Wave Pool. We went with our backup method: are there lots of people eating there? The answer for Vera's was yes, even though it was 3 p.m., so not really the main time to be eating lunch. We were greeted warmly by the Buff Guy working the counter. Hubby ordered the lamb burger, kids had the hot dog off the kid's menu, and I asked Buff Guy for advice. He recommended either the Canuck burger (Bacon cheeseburger) or the BBQ Burger that comes with bacon, provolone, fried onions and BBQ sauce. I went for the BBQ burger. All our food was amazing. The burgers were juicy and delicious. Nice crispy fries. Flavorful beef and bean chili on their chili fries...I would have preferred a little more of a kick to the chili, but they offer Frank's hot sauce and chili pepper slices if you want to add those. Buff Guy even came around and asked if everything was okay. Nice touch for good customer service. My only complaint? Lunch was $44, which is quite pricey for not being a table service restaurant. I am certain that my hamburger was raw. I threw it out. It was a waste of money. My lettuce was old and wilted. Not fresh and crispy. I will not be spending my money on Vera's ever again.
