I found this place while visiting family and friends in the area, and figured I'd give credit where credit is due. First off, after browsing through Verde's reviews, I have to say that I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who's been impressed with this sweet little bistro! I can't imagine anyone giving it a bad review. The place is very cute and chic - classy, yet unpretentious. The food is delicious, fresh and carefully-prepared. They have a lovely selection of tapas (aka, "small plates"), salads and pizzas. I live in the Northwest, in a very culinary-centered city, and restaurants that serve international, or fusion-style "tapas" are very common around here, so I was very happy to find something like this in the San Antonio area! I should also mention that Verde's martinis are to die for, and the staff is kind, attentive, and welcoming. I'm not sure how anyone can give this Bistro a bad rating?!?! We had such a great experience and will definitely be back. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all 5 star in my opinion. I ordered the hummus plate and margarita pizza. It was all tasty. The parsley used in the hummus appetizer is grown in the Bistro garden. It was very fresh and some of the best I've ever had. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The atmosphere is also very charming and cool. We sat in the back room by the bar and enjoyed our view while we had dinner. We came here for Valentine's day lunch, and were the first ones through the door. My wife immediately took to the quaint atmosphere. Service was excellent throughout. My wife had the tacos and I had the Parm sliders. Both of us had a side salad. We each sampled both dishes. We both thought the tacos were excellent. I have to slightly ding the sliders. The aoli mayo was good but there just wasn't enough of it, which made the sandwiches slightly dry and chewy. Other than that, everything else was great. Hadn't been to Verde Bistro in awhile, I forgot what we have been missing. Since it was National Tequila Day, we had amazing Cinnamon, Vanilla Infused Tequila drinks. I recently visited the Bistro and it was for a bridal shower and absolutely loved the atmosphere! The rustic feel is so charming. Service was great. Food was delicious and staff was very friendly! We had a baby shower on the back deck and the staff helped us setup the tables how we wanted and put up some umbrellas to block some of the sun. We gave this new place a try for our anniversary, and are very glad we did. Excellent and personable staff, and really good drinks and food. We went during happy hour on a Tuesday and had the Mediterranean Board (smaller happy hour version) and pear pizza. One of us had a glass of house made sangria and one of us had a margarita. Everything we had was fresh and homemade, and nothing was too heavy-handed. Just excellent food and drink. The owners came out to greet us, and presented us with a piece of their homemade carrot/zucchini cake to celebrate our anniversary. This is the kind of local neighborhood establishment we want to support in our community, and I really wish them the best success. We had great expectations after hearing about Verde Bistro - Tapas and Martini's restaurant and were thrilled with the result. We visited on Saturday evening, April 14, 2021, and the ambiance, food, staff, drinks and service could not have been better. Our server, Eugene, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He was familiar with ALL of the menu items as well as the drinks and was able to offer suggestions based on our likes and dislikes. We were privileged to meet the owners, Mari and Oscar. They have managed to create a beautiful restaurant that is welcoming and makes each and every guest feel special. They even accommodated our special request for patatas bravas (one of our guilty favorites!) We ended our meal with an amazing Carajillo. so many good reviews, what happened to us? Sunday brunch was disappointing. Slow inattentive staff, waited for 20 minutes for drinks. "breakfast Fruit" was watermelon, why don't you say what it is? bloody mary tasted like fish. Sangria is supposed to be fruity, not lemmon/lime. divorcidadas was frito chips with strange sauce and unidentified topping, maybe cheese or sour cream. My wife and I decided to go here on two recommendations for co workers. We had two nice bar drinks and ordered a grilled salmon and a steak. Unfortunately, both were way overcooked. I mean the salmon was jerky. Also had trouble understanding the waiter. Had to have him repeat himself several times. One time we both just went "uh huh" to be nice. Next opportunity I asked both people that recommended it what they ate and they both said tapas menu items. We will try it again soon and will order off the tapas menu. Went over the weekend for dinner and the meal was fantastic. The filling for the empanada was so flavorful as were the street tacos. My husband and I sampled a couple of the speciality cocktails which were all wonderful. My favorite was the tiramisu cocktail. It is simply fabulous! read more

This restaurant is phenomenal!! From the service to the decor, everything is absolutely fabulous. My husband and I came for brunch. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Belgian waffles. What a wonderful discovery. If you are looking for a personal touch with great food, this is the place. Hibiscus tacos (a special) were amazing. I had no idea that flowers could be substantial. My wife loved the pork tacos. The cast iron filet mignon was perfect and the sangria was beguiling. "What is in that?"; had to have a second glass.
