For the price, quality and service, this place deserves more than 5 stars. The food and dessert are solid and very well-priced. The employees were very kind and helpful when I asked for help on choosing a house plant (came with a free pot!!) and they even have freshly baked Filipino and Brazilian desserts in the back kitchen. I can only speak for the floral delivery service, not the food & beverage aspect of this business. I ordered a Valentine's Day arrangement to be delivered to an office building in town. This was a last minute order on the morning (9:30 am) of Feb. 14 on Verde Galerie's website. There was a wide selection of arrangements available, and of course, same day delivery was also available which was the most important factor for me. I made my selection of arrangement as well as delivery date of 2/14. I soon received a confirmation e-mail, and I was all set, so I thought. As of 5:30 pm, my order had not been fulfilled. I tried calling several times, but no one answered and the "mailbox was full" so I could not leave a message. I finally got ahold of someone about an hour later. I asked about my order and could hear the person on the other end flipping through papers for several minutes. Finally, the lady told me that "we just received this order this morning." I confirmed that yes, I placed the order this morning and selected today as a delivery date on their web platform. I then asked if the order would not be fulfilled to which she confirmed that it would not because they had too many orders ahead of mine. So, I asked for a refund and was told that "I would have to call Tela-Flora for that." I pushed back and said that I ordered on their website and the confirmation e-mail told me to call the business with any questions. I was then told that they would call Tela-Flora to cancel for me, like they were doing me some sort of favor. There was no apology for being unable to fulfill the order which was clearly available AND ADVERTISED on their site (and follow up e-mail). After listening to them shuffling through papers for several minutes on the phone to find my order and their "we don't give a sh*t" attitude toward customer service, I have my doubts on whether or not they actually canceled my order. I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company and making sure I never do business with this establishment ever again. read more

It's easy to miss this low key Stamford Gem as I lived here for 1.5 years walking by every day and never realizing they served some of the most delicious food in town. Came in the other night out of pure curiosity! I always walk past but I never get to go in! I'm so glad I walked in the other night because I got the opportunity to meet Marciel (excuse me for my poor spelling!) He is one of the two owners. So friendly & informative. Found this place on Yelp when I was doing a search for a place to grab a salad nearby. I'm in the area for work and needed to add something healthy to what I've been eating. I ordered the Verde salad (size regular, which was a decent portion) and really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh, chicken was very tasty and the dressing was light yet delicious. I ordered the Brazilian cheese bread to go (based on pictures I saw here) and they were delicious, I got a pretty big portion that I ended up sharing. The cafe is located in the back of a flower shop, odd yet cute. There are about 3 tables with total seating for about 8 people. I was there around noon on a weekday and there were 3 other people in there eating, they didn't seem too busy. I stumbled upon this spot and the co-owner greeted me warmly, he's from Brazil and instantly made me feel welcomed and at home. I took a red eye out from California and on my way to go to my relative's home in Stamford, I stopped by this place. It was great having a flexible option to eat at 10:30am on a Wednesday morning that wasn't junk food and carried beyond a basic breakfast/pastry menu (and sure as hell beats what I had -or lack thereof on the flight.) I planned on only having the Brazilian Cheese Bread (which is so bomb) but then one of the staff members told me there were Filipino special dishes available -they already had me at cheese bread so this extra dish was a treat. I had the longganisa a (pork sausage) special which included garlic rice with an over-easy egg on top, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers. I put the egg on top and let it run over the rice and the longganisa was so savory and lightly charred. Everything worked well those flavors. On top of that, this place has such a friendly and chill vibe. It has such an earthy and comfy design that invites you to stick around. I hung around to get some work done and chatted with the staff.
