05/08/2026 Stopped in before heading over to the Mayo PAC with friends. This was our first time here. We'd passed by many times walking around Morristown, but never stopped. We're all glad we did. We were seated downstairs, which was a little 'basementy" (not a real word)... but not terrible either. It was a bit more quiet than it was upstairs, so it evens out. We had 2 orders of Chicken vino bianco, 2 orders of branzini (o), one order of Veal piccata and my bucatini with clams, shrimp and bay scallops. (in a nice white wine sauce) and everyone enjoyed their meal. Decent sized portions and very good service will probably find us back here next time we're in the Morristown area. ... and it's a BYOB. read more

Really great first time here. Made a reservation for Friday night through OpenTable for indoors and was seated as soon as we got there. The waitress came over to tell us the specials and take our food/drink orders. We were served fresh bread, which was delicious and we were able to request more once we finished it. Food: calamari to start was crispy and lightly breaded, definitely something I'd order again. I got the special, which was handmade papardelle with short rib ragu. It was good, but could have used more short rib - there was only a few pieces for a pretty hefty portion of pasta. My boyfriend got the shrimp parm, which was a huge portion and also really good. It's BYOB, but still perfect for date night or a celebration - the seating isn't too close together and it isn't too loud. Would love to come back and try something else! read more

For my husbands birthday, I organized an early dinner for 20 people here. We had a slghtly tight timline due to catching an MPAC show a few doors down. The prep and support provided leading up to the event was fabulous. I was able to pre-select appetizers, salads and pastas to share family style as well as drop off wine for the group (yay BYOB). The day of, we had a gorgeous long table set up alongside a fireplace. The staff kept the food coming at a steady pace. They kept wine glasses full, and ensure we had everything we needed. Everyone's selected entrees had reviews ranging from "yum" to "delicious" - and overall, we had not a single thing we'd ask to change in our experience. We enjoyed our dinner at Pavesi Ristorante prior to seeing a show at MPAC. The entire staff from the hostess, our server and busters were all very friendly & attentive. We had two children in our party and they were very accommodating to their requests. The decor was beautiful done for winter holidays, although the restaurant was completely booked you didn't feel cramped. We shared several delicious appetizers and entrees from the penne aka vodka, chicken Parmesan and the red snapper special; all fabulous including a cup of coffee and cannoli to end on a high note! Delicious seafood specials make this a place worth coming back. Yes they have all the standard Italian dishes especially my favorite of orichiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. For my fellow Morristown residents who remember when this place had a different name, the breadsticks are still great and it's still bring your own wine. You can dine outside, it's a little close to the traffic and the people going by, but still nice on a warm evening. After eating too many breadsticks we started with a caesar salad, just barely enough for two people to split, a bit heavy on the dressing, $12. I tried the seafood special of scallops clams mussels calamari and a lobster tail over black pasta in a mildly spicy red sauce, delicious. My dining companions got grouper with potato and veg for about $34, also shrimp over linguine in a garlic butter wine sauce for $24, everything was excellent. Unfortunately we left no room for dessert this time, there were many good choices. A plate of pasta with big shrimp on top is $24, a few years ago I would've said that's outrageous, now it's starting to look downright fair. Cash is still preferred, 3% extra to pay by credit. The service was slower than molasses going uphill in January. The food was just meh, except the meatballs which were good (thus the 2 star review). Prices are high, but in line with the best of the Italian restaurants in the area (these are not "pizza place" prices). The portions are average-to-small with no salad or pasta sides coming with dinner. With so many other places in Motown, I don't see us going back here. read more

Delicious!!! BYOB Italian restaurant in Morristown with no corkage fee - WIN!!! Food was amazing - for apps we got the burrata special, fried calamari, and meatballs in vodka sauce. So good! The meatballs in vodka sauce convinced a few people at the table to get a vodka sauce dish as there entree! The restaurant is super cute, but a little on the smaller side. We were a group of 6 and got some glares for being a little loud (but 6 Italians at the table and that will happen, oops!) we apologized to our waitress, but she didn't seem to be bothered lol! This is a great little romantic Italian spot close to the Mayo Performing Arts Center. On a busy evening they were able to accommodate us. Live music provided the right ambiance for the evening. It's always a great start when you are served a basket of freshly baked bread. So many restaurants have skimped out on this. Pasta was delicious! We were very pleased with the dishes. Great portion and good value for the money. We were able to bring our own wine (just bought it next door) which helps to save some money. Service was prompt. We had a fabulous time here. Had a great meal & catch up with friends tonight here. First time coming to Pavesi, due to Morristown's lovely parking situation, especially on a Friday night, we were the last two to arrive. The host (who honestly may have been the owner?) Moreen, escorted us to a room downstairs. Our server Faustov was extremely patient. He waited until a group of loud, excitable ladies exchanged hugs & niceties since we hadn't all been together as a group since September. Although we were only 15 minutes late, the wine was flowing & the laughter from our groups voices were already high pitched, poor Faustov, again repeated the specials with a smile, which seemed to be endless, both for appetizers and mains. Good thing about being a BYOB, no hassle talking drink orders. Bread sticks & garlic knots, water was given out right way by his helper/busser - I didn't catch her name. None of us had been here before, it was a central meeting place since we were coming from Ocean, Somerset, Passaic, Union & Hunterdon counties. Within an hour another larger party came down with 14 to celebrate a guys 32nd birthday who were extremely loud & rambunctious, as we were finishing our shared appetizers of eggplant rolitini, specials; grilled octopus ~ which was delicious & cooked perfectly & a Burrata salad. All were very tasty. One in our party is gluten free, and although no items are written GF, Faustov was able to guide her in what to get & they did have GF pasta available, although not marked on menu! The acoustics downstairs quickly became like being in a stone wine seller or bunker, I strained to hear the person next to me & began trying to read lips. Luckily Faustov had taken our dinner order, which arrived shortly after they took our apps away with the silverware, which I love!! Hate when servers leave dirty silverware off of your plate (or worse the tablecloth) for your next course, give me a clean set; which the did for all! There was a little bit of good humor shushing between the two larger parties & one last table of four which was tucked in the corner. Faustino & a busser were in charge of the entire room & did well taking care of us. My one friend after a one loud ssshhh from one of the boys at the birthday table dinged her class & we all went silent that's when we learned it was his 32nd birthday & we all jovially yelled out "Happy Birthday " . We also joined in singing to him later on, I'm sure upstairs thought the room was rented out for one big group!? Our meals were served all at once, from salads with grilled salmon, pasta dishes, osso bucco, scallops to short ribs. Everyone loved their choices & managed to let each other have little tastes where needed. Honestly the four main specials all sounded fabulous! We were too full for dessert but some enjoyed coffees & cappuccino (a little heavy on the foam tho, had to take a lot out to be able to get to the coffee). All in all it was a lovely restaurant, it was packed both upstairs & downstairs. The food & service was top notch. If I had a complaint it would be about the acoustics downstairs, extremely bad, had trouble once room was full to hear anyone, even who was next to you. For 8 people with various meals in different price points, & three shared appetizers, I thought $62 a person was a little steep (they did charge more $ for using credit vs cash, which I've seen a 10 % discount for using cash but never an up-charge for using a cc), especially with BYOB. They had a violin player who sang upstairs, in passing twice to use the ladies room, unless right on top of her, I couldn't hear her at all, she was positioned right at the top of the stairs where we sat, which was completely open, and decorated beautifully with candles. I will come back again with a couple or on date night to try sitting upstairs or when there outside seating is open, I read that they do that. I would recommend trying it out, just be expected to pay more than your average Italian meal & be prepared to have your ears perked up & to speak loudly. If you can't get street parking (meters only last 2 hours so try to park close) DeHeart St parking garage is very close! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of acoustics & up-charge for using credit (especially when 6/8 paid cash) I can live with the heftier prices for the meals bc everything was fabulous & the service was good. For entrees, we had the scallop special and tortellini which were both excellent. Our servers were extremely attentive, and they even had a live acoustic performance in the dining room which was great. Since my partner and I weren't able to eat at our first choice, we were in luck and went next door to this classic Italian restaurant that offered indoor dining. Our temperature was taken by an apparatus as we walked in. There were a few patrons having dining and was whisked to a table. Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. We were greeted by our server, Tianny. The menu was downloaded via QR scan on your phone. Warm delicious and crunchy bread rolls and garlic breads were offered to us. We decided on the lasagna and chicken francese accompanied with vegetables and potatoes. The meal came out hot and the right size portion. The owner Moe would come by to make sure everything was okay. There were no complaints. This was definitely a nice treat and it's BYOB, priceless. Stopped by on a cold windy afternoon. A couple was walking out as we we're considering trying it out and they raved about the food and service so we were convinced and gave it a shot. Everything was excellent. The octopus special was beautifully grilled so delicate and flavorful. We had the cacio e pepe which was good but the winning dish was by far the penne maremonte! Would highly recommend trying it, you will want to lick the plate clean. They serve warm soft bread sticks and garlic knots with fresh EVOO. For dessert we had the coconut crème brûlée (served with toasted coconut on top) which was nice as well. We were served and helped by Daniel who was a pleasure and gave us great suggestions and was a pro when it came to the menu. Update: The owner came to our table to berate us for my review and tell us that we were never welcome again. Actually could not believe how poorly they handled customer relations. Crazy. **** The Spaghetti Carbonara ($18) actually tasted like potato soup with a splash of bacon fat. It was a super bizarre color as well and that was a precursor for how the meal tasted. Had I not been with friends, I would have spoken up more. My friend ordered their scallop special and she said that it was also nothing special -- the peas that came with it were undercooked and inedible and the vodka sauce was watery. Not only that, but they also failed to tell her that the special was $38, which is really something they should mention. The service was also terrible. Our waters were never refilled, not even once, and we had to ask for everything that should be implicitly offered or brought like a wine bucket and wine glasses when we had brought our wine to the table (it is BYOB). They never came back to our table after we got our meals more than once. We asked for separate checks too and they deliberately ignored us without explanation and gave us one check. On top of that, we asked for a table with shade and instead of showing us the available tables, the manager sat us at the first table we passed and said, "This is fine." I was surprised! I didn't have high hopes for this restaurant based off of the 3.5 overall Yelp score, but this place is truly underrated. Lovely interior atmosphere and nice outdoor patio. Came on a Saturday night for a party of 3 at around 8pm. Outdoor was fully booked, but interior had some tables. It's a good sign when there's a lot of people. The starter bread is outstanding. You get long rolls and garlic "knots" (more of a circular roll). Omg. So good. I had the chicken francese. I judge this dish based on if I can cut it with a fork - it was soft enough that I could do so. Would have liked a little more lemon flavor, but it was very delicious. Good portion size. The other two people also really enjoyed their meals (chicken parm and the short rib special). We also had a bottle of wine that was purchased literally a stone's throw down the block. For desert I had the carrot cake. It was a little dry, but still tasty. Service was nice, but slow. Perhaps because it was a Saturday night. We also ordered burrata for appetizer, but they forgot. Didn't bother to order it once all of our food came. Would I come again? Yes. read more

Very basic, no-frills Italian staple, located in the heart of the Morristown dining scene. Reservations are always a plus in the area, but there's a good chance you can get a table here without one. That in itself is telling, as while the restaurant is absolutely fine, they're not doing anything special to set themselves apart. What you're getting here is a consistently above average Italian meal at a reasonable price point. To be honest, none of the food I tried was spectacular, but it was good enough. For example, our octopus appetizer was just a touch on the tough/chewy side. We've had better, but then again, we've had far worse. As an aside, I'd stick with the main menu. The specials aren't all that elevated, and you'll find yourself surprised that they come with a higher than expected price point. They have the good sense to serve a warm bread basket--a simple and appreciated touch that goes lacking in too many places. They are very good about handling dietary constraints, accommodating allergies. They do a good job of communicating what is and isn't safe, and will make adjustments if able. The service was friendly and just good enough. Water gets refilled quickly (when you ask) and sporadically if you don't. Nice indoor space with plenty of outdoor seating for people watching. The outdoor seating offers about 75% cover via tent, so plan accordingly if inclement weather is expected. Bottom-line, this is a good enough restaurant to find yourself if you don't have a reservation elsewhere, but by no means a place to consider if you're able to make a reservation elsewhere at many of Morristown's more interesting culinary options. So good! I had previously been to Pavesi two years ago, and finally made my way back. Needless to say it was so worth it! I made a reservation for an early dinner on a Sunday and it was delicious! We started out with the calamari, which was fresh and not over breaded. I ordered a special which was scallops and a lobster sauce risotto as my entree, and my boyfriend got the chicken parmigiana (a staple tell tale of Italian restaurants) and entrees were so filling so we had some leftovers to take home! Early reservation last night before a show at the MPAC. This place is fantastic; excellent staff and the food is amazing. The overall ambiance is great and even at full capacity it was easy to have a conversation with our friends. Entertainment started at about 6:15 which was nice as well. The owner is very engaging, stopping to ask how everything was. Bread basket with garlic knots served first, very nice. Our waiter Seth was great, asked us if we were going to the show, then providing perfect spacing between courses. We started with Clams Oreganata and Stuffed Mushrooms, both very good. Main courses were 2 pasta dishes and 2 veal dishes. My wife's Orrecchiette was loaded with sausage. Our friends had the Veal Saltimbocca and Veal Pavesi, both very good. My Spaghetti Carbonara was fantastic as well. After coffee and cappuccinos and dessert and we were out in time for the show. We will most definitely be back. read more

My cousins came to visit from Connecticut yesterday and we went to Pavesi for lunch. We had a really great time, it's bring your own booze so we had a bottle of red & white. We had appetizers to die for and their bread was scrumptious. My cousins had short ribs and fish, my brother had veal and I had aldente rigatoni pasta as our main dishes and everything we had was amazing and cooked to perfection. The food, the presentation and the service was first class. Thank you Allah, you served us well. And thank you for holding the clothing left behind. We were happy it was still there the next day. I've been here before but tonight I was extremely bothered by the service and food that I felt it needed a review. Our waiter was hardly available and then when we ordered he read us the specials which included a scallop dish over pasta with spinach, zucchini, and tomato. I asked for it to be gluten free and then they brought me scallops over gluten free pasta with NO vegetables at all. This was after waiting an hour for our food so I asked our waiting "wasn't this supposed to come with veggies" to which he said oh idk. Meanwhile he read us the specials twice!!! So I said I wasn't really asking you said it came with vegetables so just please keep that in mind when you bring the bill and then they charged me $45 for scallops over plain gf pasta ...wow.
