I was really impressed with this location! This one is bright and airy and even has a nice patio area. We went for a date night, but there are some great tables for larger groups. The menu is huge and there is a little of everything. We decided to try things we haven't had before instead of our usual taco and burrito route and wow I recommend! We had aguachiles for the appetizer which tasted so fresh! If you like ceviche you will love this. I got the alambres which is not only a fun presentation (it's the hanging skewers covered in cheese), but also was so tasty. My husband did the molcajete which was huge and now probably our go to over fajitas. I normally am a flour tortilla girl but their corn tortillas were sooo good! Super attentive and he left us alone, but still kept our drinks filled and made sure we never went without. Our food was excellent!! I actually ate all of my food, which is rare. We had the ribeye tacos, arroz con pollo, kids tacos, and fried ice cream. My least favorite was the fried ice cream. Came here with my family for my birthday and we were highly disappointed. Such a shame because last time I came the food was great and I am wondering if the management changed. We came here on a Wednesday evening and it was not very busy. However, service to get seated took forever and when we were seated it was a dirty table. As we scanned the menu, the server came around to our table multiple times and it seemed like he was rushing us to leave even though the entire place was barely full. I mentioned it was my birthday and it did not seem like he cared or even bothered to help us out with figuring out what we should eat. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and it was cold and when I asked for some extra salsa it never came. Considering the prices they charge the service, food, and experience was not great. I too my sister for a belated birthday dinner to Verde. I've been to the location at Iron Works and enjoyed buy did not get a chance review it. The Zionsville location didn't disappoint. We were seated right away but opted to sit in the patio area because the music is too loud on the inside. We ordered our drinks, house margaritas and I got the chicken fajita that came with delicious queso. Our server Chistina was attentive and accommodating. I feel like I'm on vacation when I come to Verde. The restaurant is decorated high end, upscale, with amazing chandeliers. We sat at the beautiful solid quartz bar today for lunch. Romantic Latin music played in the background. Aaron, our server, brought water and complimentary chips and salsa. I love the chips, fresh with no salt. Perfect. The lunch menu offers many options. Food comes out fairly quickly. I had the Enchiladas Mole. Their mole sauce is mind-blowing fabulous - rich and thick. Pickled onions topped the enchiladas. I love the enchiladas and fresh pico. My husband had the combination Tamal and Beef Burrito, which he loved. He kept raving about the burrito's great flavor and the tamale was moist. His meal came with fresh beans and rice. I have been to this verde several times before and in the past would have given this place 5 stars however based on my last visit I would take it down to a 3.75 to 4. Don't get me wrong - It is a very nice upscale restaurant. However, it was so loud with conversation and loud pulsating music that I had to ask our waiter to repeat himself several times as I literally could not hear him. Service was fast and efficient but just too much. I think the waiter came over at least 6 times to ask if we needed anything and if everything was okay. I appreciate good service - it was just a little too much. I appreciate the free chips and individual bowls of salsa. My big gripe was the food. I ordered shrimp fajitas. They were hot and seasoned well and there were a lot of them. They were delicious. My complaint was that there were maybe 4 pieces of caramelized onion and then a lot of peppers and tomatoes thrown on top that clearly had never seen a grill. They were basically raw. For $23, I would have liked some grilled vegetables along with the shrimp. My husband commented that his chicken fajitas used to be a grilled breast and now are pieces of stir fry chicken that you see at every Mexican restaurant. Wow, what an incredible restaurant this is!! We came here for the "Devour Indy" menu and it was absolutely delicious!! First, the restaurant itself is beautiful. There's a big metal chandelier hanging over the bar and it's gorgeous. We sat at the bar and the marble looks like it's glowing. Really nice touch. Now on to our food, we ordered a house margarita and a Modelo on tap. The margarita had a dried lime which was a nice touch. Then our appetizers came out: guacamole dip and a house dip which was Mexican cheese and chorizo with tomato and onion. Needless to say we finished it and asked for more tortilla chips. The entrée was ribeye steak tacos and salmon. The tacos were amazing, it even had nice stringy cheese. The tacos even came with a nice hot and tangy hot sauce. The salmon came with rice, squash and an arugula salad. Finally dessert: churro with ice cream and a tres leches cake. It was heaven. Please go to Verde, the service is so nice and friendly. I came here with some friends after work and hadn't been this far up into Zionsville for a long time so couldn't picture where this was. Oh wow, they're doing a lot of building up this way with lots of new subdivisions going in and the strip mall where Verde is located. Just a heads up that Apple maps is wrong as of the date of this review and it sends you farther north. You need to turn in before or after the restaurant and then weave through the parking lots/inner drives to get to the parking for Verde. Most of the parking is behind the restaurant and they don't have a back entrance, but there is parking! Anyway it was very worth the slight trickiness in getting into the parking lot! The decor is beautiful! Consistent with the name, this is a green oasis! Plants everywhere made me feel like I was on vacation somewhere. And then...a margarita flight?! Yes, I am now on vacation. The three varieties, house, Texas, and a seasonal variety with coconut were all excellent. The half and half tajin and salt rims were a nice feature and I loved the cute boards the flight came on. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I had the shrimp tacos for my entree and they were excellent. The shrimp were large and nicely cooked with a spicy sauce, big wedges of avocado and slaw. For dessert I went with the plantain cheesecake which was so good! Seriously, I never would have thought of plantain crusted cheesecake with a side of plantains, but would come back just for that. Service was top notch and our server knew the menu well and had great recommendations. This is the most beautiful Verde I've ever been to, maybe the most beautiful restaurant! The ambiance is amazing with all the greenery. On the weekends, they'll have a dj or music playing, as well. I was BLOWN AWAY by how stunning the decor is in here! It's beautiful, impactful, and upscale. There is a massive (10+ feet tall) gold-plated chandelier over the bar. There's a very nice patio outside with comfortable-looking seating. There's tons of unique greenery hanging from the ceiling. All of the materials seem so expensive and well-placed. Whoever did the interior design here is a true professional. I already know that their food and drinks are incredible since having visited their other restaurants around the city. The ingredients always seem super high quality here too. I usually get the fajitas, but opted for the crispy taco salad with steak and no cheese this time. It was super colorful, fresh and delicious. I ate every bite, even the actual bowl - haha. I also had the skinny margarita and made it spicy. It was everything I wanted it to be and again, was made with fresh ingredients. I can't wait to go back and want to get the exact same thing, but also want to keep trying the menu. It'll be hard to choose, but the paella looks amazing. We always get the guacamole and although it is quite pricey, it was delicious. You get complimentary chips and salsa. Our server was on top of things and the hostess brought over a high chair for our baby and happily accommodated for him. There's a free parking lot out front and I think this place will do great. Step into this upscale Mexican establishment, it's so beautiful inside. If the weather permits then choose to dine outdoors. Our server was very prompt and polite. I ordered the Pollo Con Mole which comes with plantains and rice & it was so delicious! A big portion so I was able to have leftovers. I also ordered the Godiva Dark Dessert Alcohol and all I can say is Yum! Not harsh and so smooth that I wanted more, however this is served in a small glass and leaves you wanting more. 2nd visit to this restaurant last night. First visit was really good about 6 months ago. This time-not so much. Went for a very early dinner/very late lunch at about 3:30. One in our party got a combo plate and commented after that it was one of the worst meals he'd ever had. The tamale was inedible. (I tasted too). Completely dried out. Enchiladas tasted like they'd been sitting for hours. I got chicken fajitas. The chicken was charred, which at first look, I thought was overdone, but ok, but after a few bites, realized it was basically burnt and dried out. Our 3rd person was not eating, but commented that the fajitas looked "awful". Plus, I do not recall that the iced tea tasted like it was from a soda machine-in any case, certainly not fresh brewed. You might ask why we didn't send food back: 1) We were really hungry after fasting all day 2) Didn't have the time to wait for a 2nd try 3) Have gotten very uncomfortable with the idea of 'criticizing" the kitchen these days as you never know what's going to happen with the 2nd try. Was it the time of day? Our first visit was in the evening with a packed house. Had virtually the same things. Gave 2 stars because the place is still lovely and the service was friendly. read more

My first impression upon walking in the door was, "what a gorgeous restaurant!" It truly is, with the lovely dark green foliage trailing down from the rafters and the live edge wood tables. Whomever designed the local Verde restaurants really had a knack for creating upscale yet inviting dining spaces! I came here with a group of 4 other ladies to celebrate a birthday. This restaurant sits right on Michigan Road at the end of a small shopping strip and offers parking in both the front and rear. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Complimentary salsa/chips were provided, and we also ordered a side of guacamole and queso dip. As we were catching up and perusing the menu, we noticed there were flies that were persistently buzzing around our table/food. This Verde has a garage door which was opened during our visit on the south side of the building, and perhaps this was how they entered? Unfortunately they were pretty intense and a little distracting from our meal. The waitress also noticed and apologized. We then ordered and received our entrees quickly. Unfortunately my enchiladas weren't quite right, I had ordered a bean and cheese but received beef and cheese so the order was swapped out quickly and again the waitress was apologetic. No harm, no foul. We all agreed our food was delicious and beautifully plated! The piece de resistance was the tres leches cake provided for our friend's birthday. It came out with a sparkler type candle...definitely an attention-getter! We all had a taste; it was moist and flavorful, just as you'd expect from tres leches. Overall I'd say 4.5 for this Verde, and I look forward to trying it out again soon! read more

Major issues: waiter did not write the order down and messed up the order and then argued with me about the order. The air conditioning was dripping on us the entire time and the manager was made aware of it and didn't move us or anything so we just readjusted the way we were sitting at the table and moved all the way over to the corner. No apologies or anything about That inconvenience. After the waiter gave us the food we waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come back after saying they were going to get us tortillas and proceeded to go behind a partition and have a meeting with the staff. They were back there laughing and throwing things under their mouth and trying to catch it. Finally, I asked another waiter to get our waiter because we have issues with the order, that's when they argued with me. I say they because they decided to put the order in under bar, so I can't see what their name is. Then once we were given our bill, I noticed that they had charged us for the rice that we did not order and they wanted to argue with me about. They then told me that the side of lettuce that was ordered was the same price as the rice. I then asked how they expect people to pay four dollars for a very small amount of lettuce. They then said oh well I will go back and check and then came back and apparently the lettuce is only two dollars. Why they were trying to charge me four dollars for the lettuce, I'm not certain but absolutely horrible experience. I will not be coming back and I will do everything in my power to make sure that everyone knows how horrible this restaurant is. I've not been to the one in Carmel, I heard about this restaurant because of the one in Carmel and had my reservations on even going to this one here in Zionsville. And the reason I had my reservations is because this strip in Zionsville is very new and a lot of the people are not the best at customer service. I just had a bad feeling, and I should've listened to my gut and went to the better location. Let me make this very clear the manager who I assume was wearing the white button down shirt could not care less did not communicate with us at all. He was standing there, listening to us. Explain that we're literally constantly getting dripped on by the AC or whatever was above us. We were sitting to the right of the bar. Only positive: the only positive thing about this restaurant is the queso, definitely one of the better queso I've ever had now it goes far to say it's definitely one of the better consistencies overall although it was kind of lumpy it was still really good. Other than that, the rest of the food was extremely bland. I had a burrito and there was no flavor other than a little bit of grill taste on the chicken, but the rice had no seasoning. The beans had no seasoning and there just wasn't much flavor at all. We also got arroz con pollo and unfortunately, that had no flavor either. Overall, it was just a very bland experience besides the queso and the salsa was pretty good. Main takeaways, don't come here if you're wanting authentic Mexican cuisine, you're just not gonna get it here. This is more for people that think pepper is too spicy and our fan of Dick's last resort. Dick's last resort is known for purposeful poor customer service whereas this restaurant I don't think is known for trying to be really bad at customer service. Some notes from a manager to another manager, please for the love of God, require your employees to write things down. The worst combo is having someone who speaks very little English paired with loud music and nothing to write the order down with. 5 o'clock on a Friday night to have no more than five tables, pretty much sums up how you're doing as a business and it's sad because the caramel location, there's barely enough room to walk in to get a DoorDash order because so many people are waiting to get in. They fill up the parking garage next to it and all the outside parking as well. Lastly, I didn't want to describe the waiter that we had because I don't know their name because they never introduced themselves. They literally walked over to us and said have you guys ever been here before? Would you guys like queso and then walked away after we said yes, then asked us for drinks. The waiter was a woman that had like a more masculine haircut. They also have braces. The manager was curious who it is they probably know exactly who it is. I looked around and nobody else had braces so you should pretty much know what I'm talking about. Higher better people read more

Complimentary chips and salsa were served. We added guacamole which was tasty. Entrees came out as soon as we were done with apps. Shrimp quesadillas were loaded with shrimp and cooked perfectly with a slightly different presentation - not triangles but the sides of shell were folded over the middle which was covered with the shrimp/cheese/veggie filling. Served with rice which had a good flavor, guacamole, sour cream, and salad veggies. All dishes were very colorful and served with a beautiful presentation. We really wanted to order the churros which looked sooooo good and we're served in a fun way with dipping sauces. We live north of Zionsville, Indiana. Finding an authentic Mexican restaurant with a nice selection, ambiance and service was impossible before Verde opened on US Highway 421. It's a beautiful restaurant and we have enjoyed the experiences there for since they opened their doors. The bar is beautifully decorated with knowledgeable friendly staff. The interior of this location is gorgeous! I love the warm colors and I love all of the greenery hanging from the ceiling. The bar was beautifully done as well. We had a group of 6 and sat in a big booth. I recommend basically anything off their drink menu. I've tried several different margaritas at their other locations and they were all delicious, especially their spicy skinny margarita! I'm doing dry January so I opted for a mock tail and asked the bartender to make it spicy. It was very good! We started with queso and guacamole. The guacamole portion is a little deceiving but it was nicely made. I went with the Pollo Chipotle dish, which I'd never tried before. The sauce was rich and the chicken was prepared nicely but the flavor profile just wasnt for me. Service was very friendly and we never waited long for our food and drinks. This isn't just another Mexican restaurant, as there are some very unique entrees on the menu (bone marrow!). Serving sizes were plentiful, although spiciness could have been stronger. (read a few reviews where people complained about pricing) Born/raised in New York and this place is definitely giving City vibes. My first time but mom had dinner here earlier this week and was raving about the food and service so I had to check it out. The Verde margarita was super on point. Ordered a second before I could realize the first put me where I needed to be! Had the shrimp over rice and fell in love with the presentation. The shrimp were juicy and had tons of flavor from the grill. Took some of my dish home for late night munchies and the shrimp were so delicious cold I couldn't be bothered to warm them back up. We were greeted by Guillermo when we entered. He's super cute, polite, and welcoming. We were quickly seated and served chips, salsa, and water within a few minutes. Chips are homemade and not greasy at all! Our waiter was Renato, who we could not get enough conversation with. Very charming personality and never made us feel rushed. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, flavors, portions, etc. I was concerned about the level of spice and he was able to help me gauge the intensity and order appropriately. We have dined twice in the last two weeks, once for lunch and once for dinner. At lunch I had chicken enchiladas with a dark mole sauce. Very tasty. At dinner I had the seafood paella. From the photo I was concerned that the serving could be smaller sized. I was wrong. The paella was a generous serving with plenty of seafood and rice. The tortilla chips were tasty and the salsa was fine. My wife described her margarita as great and ordered a second. The service was attentive and well organized. The ambiance was nice and the decor was great. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have tried in the Indy Metro area but keep it a secret! read more
