I'll be honest, I usually hesitate to pay for Italian food when I can make it at home for a fraction of the cost, but Italian House is one of the rare exceptions. The service is always great, the food is even better, and it has become one of my favorite weekday date night spots. St Elmo's costs this but it is downtown, oh well No handicap facilities. Difficult for friend to get into business. Handrail limited, steps and very busy porch I have an allergy to soy. My friends loved this restaurant and I was hopeful they used olive oil. Oh no, soy oil. Pasta is soaked in it for storage. The only thing I could order for my meal was a plain salad and vegetable soup. Served cold but was quickly reheated. The manager and staff were very accommodating and understanding. We ordered prosecco drinks with added liquor. It was so strong that we asked for more prosecco and they graciously accommodated us My husband had salad, calamari and pasta. He said it was all good Our friends had pasta dishes and salad and they were pleased The house inside is beautiful. Hardwood floors stained glass windows, all original. WilI I go back, no. Even with me eating soup our check was about $100.00. The staff is well trained and helpful. Just seems a shame an Italian restaurant does not use olive oil. i've been twice in the past month which i think attests to how phenomenal they are. while they are limited on their vegetarian offerings, i enjoyed myself both times. the first visit was to celebrate a couple of birthdays and the staff was very kind and attentive - they worked as a team to ensure all guests were cared for rather than just those in a particular section. it's very noticeable how above & beyond they go to give this experience. everyone enjoyed their meals -- the calamari was a favorite both times. we all raved about the spicy tuscan white bean dip which was perfectly balanced between savory and spicy (it's topped with sausage but i kind of dug around it lol). honestly one of the best appetizers i've had in awhile! i had the alla vodka each time and i love it. not too spicy or creamy, and perfectly yummy. i definitely recommend it! read more

Construction to the road in front of the restaurant and outrageous thunderstorms popping up right at dinner time each failed to ruin the evening. In spite of these challenges, the service at The Italian House continues to be first rate in monitoring and providing for their customers, the food is craveably awesome (the eggplant parmesan is a must for me each time), and the atmosphere in the Backyard Bar is exactly what we seek in a meal experience to celebrate our anniversary simply. We dined here for the first time last night and to say it was amazing was an understatement. We were served by Noe, who was the absolute best. He was attentive, kind, and such a sweet person. For food, my husband had the chicken Parmesan and I had the chicken Alfredo meatballs. His food was to die for, mine was good but I probably wouldn't order again as the texture of the meatballs threw me off. We did sit in the back house, which would be nice in the summer but it was so loud and a bit breezy at times. Been wanting to check this place out for a long time and finally got a chance to. The staff are super nice which is great to see. Our server was great. The owner came by and offered a free dessert due to the long unexpected wait time. Tried a glass of an Italian red blend which was good and got the Alfredo and chicken ricotta meatballs. Great food, great vibes! Walked in here for dinner by myself while my wife was at a bridal shower, and I'm SO GLAD that I did! I love Italian food and don't always have look with finding a place that makes me want to go back but this place did not disappoint. I didn't have a reservation but would recommend one because there was only one table left open that Friday night. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, even the manager stopping by twice to see how things were. The meal started off with conplimentary table bread and oil, and their soup of the day (the name of it escapes me, sorry) which had a great balance of flavor between the broth and veggies. I ordered an old fashioned with Bulleit bourbon, which is a favorite of mine. Grand finale was their lasagna bolognese, which was a huge portion for the price and now one of my top 5 favorite lasagnas of all time. Not pictured is the fried ravioli and tiramisu I ordered to go for my wife. The ravioli was definitely the star of the two options, but the tiramisu was still good. We went with carbonara and sausage orecchiette, with both being very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The portion sizes are large, and we happily ended up with leftovers. Tucked away just off the highway in a lovely spot in Westfield, this place is a real gem! Parking can be a bit tricky, so I recommend going for the $10 valet service. The young gentlemen who helped us when we arrived and left were super friendly and attentive. We got there a bit early for our reservation but didn't have to wait long at all. The cozy seating was wonderfully heated, which was perfect for a chilly November night in Indiana. Once we were seated, our server made the night even better! He had a knack for connecting with us and kept the laughter going all night long--what a delight! I decided to try the seafood mac and cheese and fried ravioli, along with an old-fashioned cocktail. Unfortunately, the pasta didn't quite hit the mark; it was a bit bland and didn't have much seafood for the price. I sent it back and opted for the creamy lemon and leek halibut instead. While it may not have been as creamy as I expected, it was still really tasty! I should note that I prefer fewer capers because of their saltiness, but I'd definitely order this dish again. The ravioli was cooked perfectly and was big enough to share, which was nice! The rest of my group enjoyed shrimp scampi pasta, sea scallops, and Alfredo pasta, and everyone was really happy with their choices. Never even heard of Italian House till a few weeks ago. I received an email from OpenTable canceling my reservation for Italian House. I didn't have a reservation, never heard of Italian House. A few hours later got an "Oops our system went rogue and sent out emails to the wrong people". So I looked up the restaurant on Yelp. Menu looked good and the house looked cute. So I made a reservation. Well... this restaurant is in a really horrible area. On a one way road with almost zero parking close by. We had to park about 1/4 mile away and walk back. They do have a Valets but I don't like Valet. We go inside and let them know we were there. About 20 min later we were taken to a table inside a renovated 2-3 car garage. Not the ambiance I was hoping for. It was claustrophobic and noisy. They did end up opening the garage doors which helped with both. Our server took about 10 min to get to us. And apologized for the wait. We ordered the fried ravioli. They were two 4"x4" ravioli cut in half on the diagonal. They had good flavor. The breading was god and not too heavy and the Vodka Sauce was good but a bit spicy. We both got Caesar Salads minus the red onions. Red onion does not belong on a Caesar Salad. The dressing was very good with nice bite. My entree was Gnocchi with a brown butter pepperoni sauce. I added 6 shrimp. The six shrimp almost doubled the price of my entree. I will say they were good and good size but not worth 18$ just for the shrimp. The Gnocchi was good and the sauce was pretty much pepperoni grease which I'm not opposed to. Husband got Chicken Parm with Spaghetti. It also had a great breading and tasted great. The sauce was a bit sweet. We took dessert home. The food was pretty good and if it were in a more accessible area we'd probably be back. But due to the location this will be our first and last visit. read more

I don't go to Westfield often, but I loved the meal I had here and I will definitely visit again! They open at 4pm, and they get very busy at 5pm. So if you arrive prior to that you can probably find a parking spot right in front of the property. They have valet as well for your convenience. The Italian house literally saved my birthday dinner! We had reservations for a different restaurant in the area however they failed miserably with all their reservations that night with a group of five people and no reservations at prime dinner time I was really worried we weren't going to find a place to eat. I wasn't even going to try the Italian house because it looked so busy but thought what do I have to lose? I am so happy I gave them a shot. Came here a few months ago and LOVED it--particularly the appetizers and shrimp scampi. Came back yesterday and something was slightly off. Appetizers were still delicious, and service was fast and attentive as always, but the main dishes (we got shrimp scampi and chicken alfredo) were just nowhere near as good as the first time. Scampi was almost too sour (I know it has lemon in it) and the cheese in both dishes tasted oddly bitter. Hope next time will be better, but less sure of the quality now! read more

The ambiance is divine and makes you feel at home with the string lights and umbrellas. A great selection of food! We decided on the bruschetta for appetizer, which my hubby devoured. I ordered the salmon, and when I tell you that was the most perfectly cooked salmon I have ever had - I'm being downright serious. Tender meat but crispy crust - just wow.
