Margherita classica and tomato salad & burratta

Verdello restaurant is the replacement of Ortomare ristorante pizzeria. Verdello is more modern in term of the decor. The pizza is still as delicious as the previous restaurant. The menu is slightly changed, and some with a twist. We went twice already, the first visit we tried the tiramisu and sadly it was not great but this second visit, they made big improvement.

What a gem! Verdello completely exceeded our expectations. The food was phenomenal--authentic Italian flavors with a modern touch. We tried the Burrata pizza and the steak plate, both beautifully cooked and packed with flavor. The cocktail (Aperol Spritz) was refreshing and perfectly balanced. (Not sour at all!) The ambiance was relaxed yet stylish, with a lovely indoor-outdoor setup that made the whole experience feel like a European summer escape. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out at a great pace. It's hard to believe this place hasn't been discovered by more people yet. Highly recommend for a cozy date night or casual gathering with friends. We'll definitely be back!

Verdello NYC feels like slipping away to a stylish trattoria tucked into the streets of Milan or Rome. The warm lighting, natural textures, and modern rustic charm set the scene for what turns out to be an unforgettable dining experience. We started with the Parmigiana di Melanzane--a beautifully layered dish of baked eggplant with San Marzano tomatoes and burrata that was equal parts comfort food and culinary art. The Cozze (PEI mussels) came in a fragrant white wine broth with shallots and garlic, perfect for soaking up with charred bread. Verdello's pizzas are absolutely crave-worthy. The Margherita Classica is simplicity perfected: San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, and fresh basil atop a crisp, blistered crust. For something bolder, the Burrata pizza with 'nduja sausage and parmigiano hits every savory, spicy note just right. The pastas are a standout. The Tagliatelle with beef ragù and sangiovese is rich and earthy, while the Pappardelle with lamb ragù, rosemary, and pecorino is soul-warming and decadent. The Tortelloni, filled with ricotta and finished in butter and sage, are delicate yet deeply satisfying. The wine list is a curated journey through Italy's top regions--from a bright, mineral-forward Carricante from Sicilia to a silky Chianti Classico that paired beautifully with our meal. If you're a fan of big reds, don't miss the Brunello di Montalcino--an elegant, robust choice that rounds out the experience. And let's not forget dessert--the Tiramisù is a velvety dream layered with mascarpone and espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and the Cannoli are crisp, creamy, and just sweet enough to end on a perfect note.

"Things to Consider":…read more 1. Food - fine if you want to pay hotel prices for food that you can get at a New Jersey or Long Island mall at much lower prices. Paper plates, plastic cutlery and pita chips warmed and served in the bags they came in. 2. Service - non-existent. No staff members acknowledge your arrival. You either have to wave madly or go to the bar and ask for a drink. The staff is always closing early with the staff excuse that "we are not busy" yet guests are routinely turned away. The staff is not happy and begrudge being there. DO NOT believe in the hours posted on the website. There is a built-in clientele but the staff can't wait to close it down. I don't know what is wrong with management but they have lost the plot. 3. Ambience - The space could be so much better than it is. The lighting is okay but the seating in the bar area is not appropriate. The adjoining cafe has a better feeling. Ambience has a lot to do with making guests feel welcome - this staff doesn't understand the meaning of hospitality but they should not be blamed. It is clear they have no training and are not held to any standard. If you want to go to a great space, go to the Wallace Hotel around the corner (I am NOT affiliated with them... have just gone there many times). It is so sad to see a place with such potential be so poorly run, especially as they have such little competition. The Arthouse Bar has the potential to be THE leading cocktail/music/late-night bar on the Upper West Side.

I mean it's drenched in butter... it's obviously going to be delish. the fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and layered in salt. weird to have to ask for mayo but they did bring it out. - the, albeit pretty, veggie sides I felt were unnecessary and borderline cold so unclear on how much they really added the meal - the Tarte Tatin à la mode was a win around the table. the apple melted in your mouth. the Poire belle Hélène was good but paled in comparison
