Ok I'm a little annoyed about this place and I hope the management read this and fixes their mistakes . I went with three other family's and each family had one adult and two kids ( same age ) we all live outside of Burbank . I got charged $14 my other friend got charged $26 and my other friend got charged $19. We didn't realize this until we sat down and realized what happened . How can all three family's get charged three different amounts when each family had one adult and two kids the same age ! Then we get their and my oldest child who is 7 and 46" tall goes on their watersides for a hr and everything is fine then she comes to be crying that the water slide lifeguard won't allow her to slide anymore cuz she isn't tall enough ummmm ok so I go up there n he tells me oh she needs to be 42" and taller to slide . I tell him she is and she has been sliding for one hr so why can't she anymore he says sorry so I get upset n go to the front desk . The manager tells me oh she has to be 47" so that's y she can't . I told him she has been sliding for a hr if it was so dangerous for her to slide like they say it is y didn't u measure her from the beginning and your staff told me 42". So my daughter was so sad she sat out after that . Also the food area is horrible what happened to the tables and chairs like last year . There is nothing there for us to sit n eat we had to stand up n eat or sit on the concrete what is that about ?? Overall the water area is fun but they are extremely disorganized . They have 18 year olds running the place who have no clue the rules n regulations . They really need to get this place organized and maybe their Yelp reviews will get better and ppl will actually enjoy their time here . read more

Just came to the Splash Pad today for the 1st time after the recommendation of a friend who is a Burbank resident. This place is AMAZING! Since there isn't much helpful info on Yelp I'm gonna write a novel and give you the run down... For the reviewers who complained about the men's and women's rooms being dirty - what public park/pool restrooms aren't?! I looked around and it felt about average in cleanliness for a public restroom. Who cares. Other complaints are about rude and uninformed teenagers running the place. Again, who cares?! They were about as nice as they had to be today to keep their jobs - I'm not coming for customer service so again, no biggie. NOW. For the good stuff: As a parent of a toddler boy who lives in The Valley - this place ROCKED. We spent 2 full hours in the water and both of us had a complete blast. The water area was totally clean, everything looks/feels new and fresh. Few things you'll care about: - Cost was $19 for myself and my son (under 7). At first I thought that was a little pricey but after the 2 hours I felt it was 100% worth it! There is a discount if you live in Burbank and you must show ID or mail with your name and local address on it to get discount. - Summer Splash Pad hours: 12-2 and 2:15-4:15. You must pay in full for each session - no way to just stay for both - they clear it out after first session. **If you have friends meeting you but they are running late you CAN purchase tickets for them (wrist bands) and they can skip the line and get them from you when they get there** - Limit per session is 141 people. SO if you want to get in you MUST be there at least 20 min before the session starts. I went to the 12-2 session and got there at 11:30 and by 11:40 there was a line of probably 50 people. These moms know what's up ;) - I'm so glad they have a limit on people who can enter because it does get packed. Not insanely packed but it's not a "peaceful" play time ;) For two hours it was fine. - If you have more than one kid DON'T bring more tha one kid unless they are older. I can't imagine having two kids in this area! - There are two big kid slides but you have to be 47 inches and only one person at a time. - They say no outside food or drinks except water but I saw several families with their own food and no one cared. There is a snack shop but I didn't check it out. - There's only a handful of chairs so bring your own or bring towels. I was in the water the whole time so didn't matter for us. - There are lockers for $0.25 but everyone seemed to just keep their bags poolside and it wasn't a big deal. - They say no floaties but I did see 1 or 2 babies with arm floaties and no one cared. - Free parking. - Water felt great. Lap Swim review: The water is much warmer than other city pools I've tried, and that's a good thing at 6am! The bathrooms are clean and the lockers are new - though you have to insert a quarter. This is a fantastic Olympic-sized pool and I usually get a lane to myself that early in the morning. It's so nice I may end up switching from my usual pool to this one. Negative reviewers: sorry your precious little tykes didn't have that Disneyland magic they deserve - it's a public pool. What more could you reasonably expect to have here? read more

The pool facilities are a nice treat for the residents of Burbank. My son and I have been having a blast going there this past month. My only complaint is not for the staff at the pool, it's about the people who patronize the pool. The reason why is because of the apparent careless attitude these people have concerning their trash. I have seen everything from ziploc bags to chip and snack bags to a pair of swimming diapers thrown in the street. Grow up people and be a good example to the youth. The Verdugo Pool is open again after being closed for 5 years, and it's great. Big 50 Meter pool for swimming with 2 diving boards. My favorite part is the separate Activity Pool which is for younger kids. It has a shallow sloping pool filled with fun water features, fountains, and slides. There are also 2 larger water slides for older kids and adults. I took my 1-year-old there today and he was in heaven. Review would be 5 stars but the admission is cash only. A $7.3 Million renovation and you couldn't afford a credit card machine?!?! Come on Burbank! EDIT -- They take credit cards now. 5 stars it is!! read more

So glad they were open during the pandemic as all the la city pools were closed. They follow all Covid guidelines and are as safe as can be. Things you will need to have a good time here - - cash - soccer game chairs - food - PATIENCE This is indeed a facility run by teenagers. There are no chairs or tables for the public. It is a public pool and there is no way you could possibly go to one without encountering people who have zero concept of personal space. That being said, I went on a weekday, got there early so I had no problem getting into the activity area, spent the entire session in the water with my son and we had a great time and came home and passed out. Our daughter loves to go swimming. We decided to take her to the afternoon recreational swimming session and consulted the web site for hours and regulations. I had a few more questions so I spoke to someone on the phone and confirmed the hours. A friend of ours was going to join us so she called also to confirm times. The web site and the person on the phone said there were afternoon sessions from 3:30 to 5:30. Well we got there and it was closed; no recreational session until the weekend. My poor daughter was so sad after having waited so patiently to go swimming. How do you explain incompetence to a 3-year-old? I would never put my daughter through disappointment like that again. Hubby and I landed here on Labor Day after first going to Hansen Rec Center and driving away once we saw the line that was .5mi (literally!!!). So glad we chose pass on Hansen Dam and ended up here. Loved this place!!! Hubby and I had a blast here, so much so, we're going to go back this weekend when the weather is supposed to be hitting 100. They have two slides and hubby and I spent half our time on the slides. They also have two diving boards (one high, one low) but you'll need to take a swim test before you can use the boards. Don't sweat it though because they pass everyone because I didn't see anyone get a fail. There's plenty of room for laying out and everyone, staff as well as other swimmers, was really nice and polite and courteous. They say no eating or drinking around the pool but so many people had brought food and drinks with them but were just pretty inconspicuous about it. read more

This is a review for the activity pool and slides... Great place for kids and adults alike. But the lifeguards need to be on the same page when it comes to the big slides. My son is 6 years old, 46 inches and able to ride the big water slides for 4 hours. However, the 2nd time we came...he was not allowed on the slides. It may take a couple summers for this place to get it together. A swim test for the slides would be important. There are really tall 3 year olds riding the slides. My son can swim and is 6-he just is a tad too short. read more

This place has the worse customer service. I booked my kid for their summer swimming and had to cancel unfortunately. I did so well before the 10 day requirement. 3 times before and I finally had to dispute it with my credit card because they never refunded me after a month of trying. After having been to the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, the Burbank-Verdugo facility's activity pool is not a good value for a small child. The space that a two-year-old is allowed to use here (they are not allowed to do the two larger slides) is fairly small and, honestly, not safe. If your child is mobile and a daredevil, the water gets too deep too quickly. Not sure if they allow floaties here or not, but I had read they didn't. So, we didn't bring anything. Big mistake. I was on top of him the entire time, literally within arm's reach, but I was scared he was going to drown to death. The water of all the features comes out so forcefully, it was hard to keep up with him. It was just too much for both of us. We won't be going back unless we could try again with his little Puddle Jumper floatie set. The Santa Clarita facility is much larger and had more room for kids this age to spread out ... and also allows floaties. Though a longer drive for us, I would totally recommend Santa Clarita over Burbank-Verdugo. read more

I have swum twice this year at the Verdugo Aquatics Center in Burbank. And both times it was a weekday and an early afternoon. And each time since summer still hadn't officially begun yet; the pool was not crowded. There were ample adult lap swimming lanes which was a positive for me. Also the fifferent life guards on duty were both professional and friendly. However as with the sweets also come the bitter. Along both sides and around the pool there weren' t the traditional lounge chairs as is oftentimes customary at outdoor pool venues...And maybe only one or to standard chairs..Now both of these say to me; " You can swim in our pool but we reallt do not want u to lay out in the sun either before or after your swim and enjoy the sun! Another drawback is the mens' locker room.Now who ever designed it did not put any long rectangular lockers in it. The lockers are far too small..My high school locker was larger than these lockers..So if u are a business person; leave your business clothes at home because they will never fit into any of their lockers....And if u try..they will definitely come out wrinkled!? Now so far as parking is concerned and its accessibility; Excellent... So...in conclusion...I do not live in Burbank or the surrounding SFV..but if I did..I would not return to this aquatics center until the previous expressed concerns have been addressed and dealt with. First time here. We came on a Saturday and it was surprisingly not packed. All was fantastic but then my little one who needed a little lifeguard support coming out of the water slide (they do this for the smaller children) didn't get it to her surprise, thank God I was near to pull her out of the water. Basically the life guard was given the signal that a LO was coming down but didn't pay attention. It kind of shattered her trust in them but she ultimately was fine and went down again. Seems the employees may need a safety stand down to go over procedures again. read more

The facility is nice. Love the pool temp but the locker rooms are filthy. Clogged drains in shower room over-flowing, kid's disgusting left over food all over the place. Locker rooms should be cleaned at least three times a day, especially during summer. Totally gross. VNSO Aquatic facility's locker rooms are spotless and that is a county facility. This review was 2 Summers ago (2017). There was much improvement last Summer (2018). I just wish they would hose down the floors fully three times a day with a hose not broom. read more

They don't have anyone outside doing a headcount so you could wait in line for a long time with excited kids to find out that you can't get in.... they really should have a better way of informing the line that they're sold out before you spend time there. read more

So the new Activity Pool is finally here. The good news is that the few kids who will be able to access it will love it. The bad news: First, there is an extra charge to use the Activity Pool. I don't mind paying a little extra, but for only a two hour session? Kids are just getting warmed up here after two hours. There were lots of tears the other day when the lifeguards announced the end of the session, 15 MINUTES EARLY, no less. Another problem: the pool is way too small for this city. I have been to larger water play centers in other communities with my kids and for the same price, they can play all day. Unreasonable capacity limits: the facility has a strict capacity limit, which seems to allow for an excessively small group of people, not very practical given the pent up demand and anticipation of this facility; this capacity limit seems to apply to both the 50m pool and the Activity Pool, so for example if the Activity Pool is packed,the 50m pool will sit there relatively empty. We experienced this when my kids just wanted to use the 50m pool and were turned away because "the pool was at capacity". NOT COOL as we stood looking through the fence at a huge, sparkling, nearly empty 50m pool. I really hope they will address this soon and make appropriate adjustments. I find the concept of such a small capacity limit laughable as someone who has been going to the packed McCambridge Pool across town for the past several years. The pool has been so full of huge groups of summer campers that kids who regularly participated in the "Deep Water Test," for example, were unable to swim from one side of the pool to the other in a straight line because of the number of people in their way. There didn't seem to be any issue packing as many bodies in as possible as long as the Verdugo Pool was closed. Now we're greeted with "Pool is at capacity" signs at both Verdugo and McCambridge pools. You can do better, City of Burbank! read more

Horrific waits to get into the pool. The main bottleneck are the poor ladies taking the money.... it takes them an estimated 5 minutes per customer with a line out the door in the hot sun, and it's not their fault. A few ideas: 1. Post a menu of swim options/ prices overhead in the entryway. 2. Have one of the roaming lifeguards, who have little purpose until people can actually make it into the pool, roam the line answering questions instead. 3. Allow a place for feedback on the Burbank Aquatics website.... you might find that some ideas are helpful. A few small changes could make a big difference. I can't believe people complain so much sometimes over a dollar and still the staff keeps it professional and efficient! I would recommend you read the rules and fees before you come here so you don't delay the lines with your bad uninformed attitudes. Pool looks great after remodeling. I go early mornings for lap swim and still can't believe it's for real: big, beautiful local outdoor pool available year round. I wish I could give all 5 stars, but staff/lifeguards are lazy, rude and unfriendly. Many swimmers don't take a shower before entering the pool. I asked staff if they can say something about it and the answer was: " We could, I guess, but why bother, there is a sign". Hard to beat this facility as it has a great pool with both low and high spring boards! Crowds can get annoying. The lifeguard prohibits flips off the high dive which is very disappointing. We had to park a few blocks aways as the parking lot is not sufficiently large on busy days. read more

The pool is great. If you are a lap swimmer, you will be happy. It could use another set of flags, and some synchronized pace clocks, but otherwise, it's great. The problems arise during rec/Activity pool hours. It appears the rules for the Activity pool were written by someone who doesn't have kids, doesn't like kids and doesn't like people who have kids. There is a 50 person limit for the activity pool. Parents of children 7 or under HAVE to spend $6 on an activity bracelet, even if we aren't setting foot in the pool. This is a waste of space and money We are taking a space that belongs to a child. The parent of a two year old should of course be in the pool with their kid. The parent of a 5, 6 or 7 yo who is a good swimmer should not have to buy a bracelet. On weekends, the first session starts at 12:30. However, the doors don't open until 12:30. It takes way too much time to check in- if you are the 50th person through the door, your kid won't get in the pool til 12:40, 12:45. Why not have a separate line for the Activity pool? Let the first 50 start to queue inside the pool area at 12:15. Let the kids stand in line in front of the pool gate- they get to salivate in front of slides, instead of whine and moan in a hot line in front of the pool. Then open he gate at 12:30 and let them in. Everyone gets their entire 2 hours in the pool. You shouldn't be penalized 10 minutes because you got in line at 11:59 instead of 11:50. At 2:30 PM, they announce that the session has ended. There is no 5 or 10 minute warning. Just "GET OUT." Give the kids a 5 minute warning so they can sneak on the the slide one last time. I am spending $10.00 (including my wasted bracelet)- my kid should get his full time on the slides. The aquatic personnel have not figured out how to handle kids and parents. If I wasn't a parent, I would give this pool 5 stars. Unfortunately, I know better. read more

The staff is highly incompetent and extremely lazy. No one knows how to do anything, and you'll get mixed answers from the website or if you speak to someone. Activity pool system is completely broken - don't waste your money buying a pass- the only way you'll ever get in is if you camp out the day before starting at 4am. Seems like they could have more than 2 sessions- or at least a one in one out rule (which would make the most amount of sense...seeing as how not everyone stays the entire session). So thankful to have a fab pool like this year-round in the neighborhood. Please take note: clean the locker room areas, please! No excuse to have such filthy rooms when all it takes is hiring help for 1 hour at the end of each day. One other big problem, however, is the annoying Zumba lady that comes in nearly every day to take over with her loud, obnoxious music and overbearing behavior. My regular aquatic center is closed for an annual maintenance. So I was looking for another year round pool. Per the reviews I tried Verdugo Aquatic Center. It's a ways from my house. But, is a great place. It's clean, staff are great. The only thing is check with them about the time the schools are practicing. It will save you any wait time. Other than that it's 5 stars! read more
