Been coming here for years. Now a corporate chef is here changing the menus and recipes. The result is a complete mess. The delicious wedge salad is taken off the menu and replaced with a Greek salad. That wouldn't be terrible except it sucked. The lemon vinaigrette is flat. Cannot taste any lemon. Besides a Greek salad is made with red wine vinegar and olive oil. Or maybe a basalmic vinegar. The pieces in the salad are too large. A large piece of feta is in the salad which you may think is great, but it is too much. The feta along with all the other ingredients should be small pieces. The cesar salad is still good. It used to be served.with excellent croutons, but now two slices of overwelming garlicy toast. Unedible especially if you are on a date . Good if you are trying to alienate anyone you may come in contact with. The salmon with rice and asparagus had been replaced with "honey salmon with saffron rice. The salmon was way overcooked. There is no hint of honey. The sauce was like a tomato soup with some kalamata olive pieces and some shredded red pepper It has a long.hot as a garnish which you may like if you like hot. If not Just leave it. The rice is basically tastless. It has what looks like some lentils in it with some frizzled onions. It is cooked OK, it doesn't stick together, but it in no way compliments the dried out fish. The pasta bolognese is just pasta with meat sauce. Not bad but not a bolognese sauce Hey chef , look on line for a authentic bolognese sauce. Vergina is sadly being ruined by some corporate incompetence. Staff is still great. My wife and I eat in some of the greatest restaurants in the world and my wife worked in a cooking school for 15 years. The dishes look good. Like cruise food. On a mediocre cruise line. First time at Verginas and to be honest it was a bit underwhelming. The restaurant itself was nice and classy looking, waitstaff were very professional and attentive. Our appetizer was the meatballs, the presentation was a little lack luster I just feel like a little more effort would have been nice instead of it looking like it was just thrown into a bowl. I mean look at the photo and judge for yourself. They tasted amazing, tender flavorful but barely warm. We were hungry so we didn't bother saying anything too but hot food should be hot in my opinion. We got the Ribeye entree medium with potato's and the Chicken Parmesan. The ribeye at first glance it looked like it was cooked how I like but as you can see the blood on the plate means it didn't rest enough and bled once they sliced it. It was more of a med well through most of the steak and the quality seemed not good. It was the toughest ribeye I've eaten in a long time. Peppercorn sauce was nice but steak lacked seasoning they offer Maldon salt on the tables which I thought was nice and helped the steak but man not tender at all or juicy at all for a ribeye. The potatoes too were not seasoned and would have been nice to have a little crisp to them but that more of a preference for me. The chicken parm was alright again we were hungry and ate it but it was very basic not seasoned to much either. The house tomato sauce could use a little more something too tasted kinda plain. Came for a 5pm reservation on a warm Saturday after doing an afternoon boat cruise out of Tin City. Vergina's was pretty busy, but we were seated promptly on the front patio. Pleasant ambiance although the tables are pretty tight. Our server came and I inquired about the happy hour deal which was advertised as going until 5pm, and was told you must be seated by 4:45pm. Disappointing. She then made a big production of running through the specials by loudly clicking her fingernails on an iPad all without mentioning prices, and now after seeing some other reviews, they are overpriced and a money grab. No attempt at any hint of friendliness or even personality. Anyways we put in our order. We got our drinks fairly quickly and our app, the charred octopus dish, which was great. It had fingerling potato's, artichoke, olives, red sauce. Very nice. Some bread then came out and it was also nice. It took awhile for our entrees to come out. I had Nona's spaghetti and it was delish. The lady had a gnocchi with white truffle sauce and it was very tasty although only luke warm at best. We were full so we didn't have dessert. Our waitress never came around to check on us after taking our order. It took forever to flag her down to get our check. So I'd give Vergina props for the tasty food and nice ambiance. We visited Vergina on May 30, 2026, on a rainy off-season evening. A sign outside advertised Paella Night for $26.99, which caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived around 6:30 PM and were greeted by our waitress, Svetlana. We started with cocktails. I ordered a Tito's and ginger ale, and my boyfriend ordered a Grey Goose on the rocks. The drinks arrived quickly, likely because the restaurant was not very busy. For our appetizer, we shared the Caesar Salad with Salmon ($36.00), which was outstanding. The salmon was perfectly cooked and practically melted in my mouth. The Caesar dressing was equally delicious. We also ordered the Wagyu Meatballs ($18.00), served with creamy ricotta. Unfortunately, the meatballs arrived cold, which was disappointing. I mentioned it to our waitress, who said she would inform the chef, but nothing further was done. In my opinion, they should have either replaced the dish or removed it from the bill. For our entrees, I ordered the Paella Special ($26.99), while my boyfriend chose the Veal Milanese ($50.00). The paella was disappointing due to its small portion size. It contained only one shrimp, a few mussels, and very small clams. Considering it was advertised as a featured special, I expected a more generous serving. The Veal Milanese was a nice piece of veal, but it was heavily topped with baby arugula, marinated tomatoes, and balsamic glaze, making it difficult to even see the veal underneath. To finish the meal, my boyfriend ordered the Raspberry Sorbetto ($10.00), which he enjoyed. Our total bill came to $206.69. While there were a few highlights, particularly the salmon Caesar salad, the cold appetizer, underwhelming paella, and overall value left us disappointed. I would rate the experience a 6 out of 10 and would not return. My friend and I made reservations for dinner at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. We got seated out front at a 2 person table but just a warning the tables are pretty close to other tables so def not getting much privacy lol.
