First red flag was they didn't ask for my name or number when i called in an order for a large pie, but when I went to the store to pick it up, there was nobody else in there but me, so I guess they didn't even need my name or number. Still excited to have the pizza, when I opened it up it looked like a pizza that you get at your elementary school cafeteria. OK whatever I'm still gonna try it i'm very hungry. This pizza wasn't even warm and the cheese was falling off. sure I was 10 minutes late to pick up my pizza, but it shouldn't be this cold. maybe this is just their style, but there was no crunch in any bite and the dough tasted fake like a costco slice. On the way back to the office, I stopped at Veria Pizza for some dinner takeout, which is located in the former space of Hudson House of Pizza, which moved across the street. Veria Pizza serves up Greek style pizzas, subs, fried seafood (haddock, scallops, whole clams, shrimp), salads, pasta, chicken, charcoal dinners (marinated chicken, steak tips, gyros), side orders, bagged Lays chips, Pepsi cooler drinks, and children's menu, at reasonable prices. It's a very casual order at the counter place with plenty of table seating and a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. I got myself a Small Anchovies Pizza ($6.25) and a Chicken Cutlet Parmesan over Spaghetti ($5.75), which was ready in about 20 minutes after placing the order. The pizza was tasty, which was baked in an inch deep pan and had a crispy airy crust with a modest amount of tomato sauce, lots of melted cheese and the right amount of anchovies. The chicken parmesan was a great value for the money and very tasty, which was oven baked in a round foil container and had a thick layer of melted cheese over four soft chicken cutlet tenders from the generous amount of tomato sauce over soft spaghetti and served with garlic bread (from sub rolls). I'll start off by saying we order from here all the time and usually enjoy the food. Well not tonight. I ordered a chicken finger calzone and it wasn't even cooked. All the dough was still white. The only thing that was brown was the cheese. I called in and explained and they offered to send a new one I accepted. The second calzone comes and it looks like it's cooked perfect. I bite into one of the end pieces and there was no chicken. There was only chicken in the center of the calzone. I call back explain to the girl on the phone. I didn't want anything I didn't even want a refund. I simply explained the food just wasn't good tonight, she asked me to hold and a gentleman gets on the phone and starts yelling at me that he cooked it and the calzone had plenty of chicken. I tried explaining I didn't want anything I was simply saying the food wasn't the same and I wasn't sure what was wrong. He continued to yell at me louder that he cooked it and it was fine. We did take-out form Veria the other night, moved by the 4.5 star rating and glowing reviews. They are located on the way home from my wife's work, so she called ahead to place our order. The people she had contact with over the phone and in-person were very sweet, with the only hiccup being that our order was ready about 15-20 minutes later than what my wife was told. She has incredibly high standards for cheesesteak subs, and we have finally found a place in the area that delivers (no pun here, as Veria's does not deliver to our Pelham home). Her large sub did not look like much, and its size was not anything special, but she loved it with its extra cheesiness. My pizzas I ordered were delicious and the appropriate size for a 'large'. I am a huge fan of sweet sauce, and Veria's was very tasty. The crust was crunchy, but flaky and delicious. Our only issue with the food was the fries, as they were somewhat lukewarm, although they had good flavor. They must have been sitting around while the rest of our order was cooking. Today my wife and I went to try the grilled steak tips here. We had already tried the spinach pizza which awesome. I was looking for a huge portion of tips and grilled to perfection. OMG. Let me tell you this grilled steak tip dinner was the best I have had anywhere. Anywhere! And it came with your choice of french fries or onion rings or rice. We got onion rings I wish I had my phone with me because I would have liked to show you a picture of this huge dinner. They gave us free 20oz drinks total cost $14.99. I have never had Grilled steak tips this good ever! The onion rings were huge and sooo good. The counter girl was awesome. I will go no place other than right here for Grilled Steak Tips. This is the best pizza in Hudson NH and I know there's a lack of good pizza in Hudson but at first try it's very good. We tried the buffalo chicken pizza and bacon pizza and the crust is thin and sauce sweet, which works very well. Let me start by saying the food is very good.. but buyer beware- They charge you a $1 to use your credit/debit card for every transaction but you are not notified. I am not sure this is even legal- according to Visa, merchants arent supposed to charge for use of cards- especially debits. http://usa.visa.com/personal/using_visa/checkout_fees/index.html BUT.. I used cash to pay and was ALSO charged an extra $1 for this transaction. I asked for a receipt and saw that it said it was miscellaneous charge $1. I inquired about this and was told it was a mistake. It seems they automatically add an extra $1 to every purchase. I am sure a lot of people would not even notice and just pay it. I am also certain some would say, big deal, its a $1 right? However, that to me is a sleazy practice. My $1 was refunded to me after I pointed out the mistake, but only because I said something. Great pizza, great subs- use cash and ask for a receipt to make sure you arent paying the Verias special tax. My other complaint about their pricing is that the menu prices do not match what you are charged- ever. I ordered a large cheese pizza, the menu said $10.00 and I was charge $12.00.
