I rarely write reviews, but I had to take a moment to shout out Edwin at Verizon for being an absolute rockstar. From the second I walked in, he treated me like I was the most important person in the world. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about every product and service, but he also took the time to explain things clearly, patiently, and with genuine care. Edwin didn't just solve my issue--he went above and beyond to make sure I walked out with the best possible setup for my needs. He anticipated questions before I even asked them, found ways to save me money, and made the entire process completely stress-free. Honestly, I felt like I was being helped by a friend who just happened to be a tech genius. If Verizon had a Hall of Fame, Edwin would already have a plaque. Beware. Chris and Jordan are certified liars that upcharge your bill and tell you you'll receive credit from Verizon. My experience was similar to other one star reviews from this horrific business with no ethics. ATT charged me 199.00 for 4 lines. Switched to take advantage of a free phone promotion. First bill was 1200. followed by 560. followed by 450. dollars and I never received credit of anything. Finally got through to verizon and a nice woman helped me get my bill down to 300.00 and told me a fraud complaint will be filed out and a verizon representative would get in touch with me to further reduce my bill. That never happened. Honestly a nightmare to deal with. read more

I'm a 64 year old man who lives alone , but as I'm a good father both of my kids are still on my plan. Ha The phone part went smooth, but they "gave me" "It's included in your plan" two hot spots. I saw my daughter for Easter she said Daddy I don't and you don't need this take it back. I got my first my first bill and it added 70 a piece for both units. I called up and I was told you have 30 days to return them. I went back in the store and returned them. I told then again it was wrong to up sell or give me something that's not free. Very Disappointed. I like to support local businesses . Not a nice way to do business. Hopefully they change their ways. They try to take advantage of a Retired older person. read more

This is a PSA - Avoid this store at all costs and if you are extremely desperate and have to use them, get everything in writing. They tell you something is free and talk you into taking it for example: a mobile hot spot that you don't need or want. The story is: Verizon has determined that throwing hot spots from your phone damages it and voids the warranty over time so they are giving them out for free. It is NOT free and by the time you figure that out, 30 days have passed and they direct you to Verizon customer service who also can't help you as you were misled by the authorized dealer not Verizon. Funny story: when I was there, a man came in and was angry, yelling and said they were all liars and stormed out - at the time I just thought it was random crazy guy but now, I know exactly how he feels. read more

WOW just got back from Verizon by Shoprite. What a great experience. 10 days ago my son and I stopped in to inquire about switching up our phones. They arrived yesterday and we were notified. We went after I closed my shop and the transition was smooth, professional and painless. I can't thank Chris, Andrew and Tim for all they did to make sure our experience was nothing short of perfect. We have been going to this shop for years, this team works well together and their customer service skills are on point. (in my last life and in this one too... This is not a Corporate Verizon store but they will tell you it is. Chris and Andrew are very shady liars. If you purchase a new device they add extra costs to your bill without your knowledge or consent. They talk in circles (not making sense) to try and convince you your bill won't be more money when in actuality it is in black and white when I checked my bill. They give misleading information about pricing and plans. I found 4 extra monthly charges I did not give them the authorization to do on my bill. Very poor customer service beware because Chris will never print you out a receipt. He says he will email it and then you never receive it because he doesn't want you to see he's ripping you off there in the store. I reported them to a Corporate Verizon Store and was advised by Verizon to always call Verizon directly to find a Corporate Verizon Store and location when needed. Verizon also removed all the phony charges they added to my bill. MAKE SURE to check your bill afterward if you make the big mistake to trust these guys. I had a very poor experience here and would never use this store again. read more

I am a Canadian in transit and was looking to purchase a hotspot device. Chris sold me a device assuring it would be perfect for my needs and that I could replenish the data online. He was grossly misinformed. Wasted 3 hours this morning online trying to achieve this. Finally Andrew informed me his colleague was incorrect and that a Canadian credit card would not work to replenish the data. So Chris does not know what he was talking about. Andrew was non apologetic and claimed my situation was unique. I cannot think that being a foreigner looking for a data plan is a unique situation. So I bought a $130 stick that is now useless. Thanks guys. Clearly you are simply selling anything to anybody without any interest in client relations. Welcome to Verizon. read more

The Verizon store in Croton is an abject disaster. The staff is rude and doesn't care at all about customers, except for the one individual who knew nothing about anything. Signed up for a new cell plan and purchased a new phone. Was told that this was the most economic plan available. Today we went to the Verizon store in Yorktown where we were treated like customer and given all of the information we desired. We were also told that the plan given us by the Croton salesman was far too expensive for far too little and he revised it, saving us $25-30/month for significantly better service. Do not under any circumstances go to the Croton store. It's worth the 20 minute drive to Yorktown to be served by someone who actually cares. read more

Got a new phone yesterday and the experience seemed like dealing with a shady used-car salesman. Prices quoted for what the monthly charge for the phone would be were misrepresented - it will end up being $36/month instead of the $22 I was told multiple times. Extra undisclosed fees were also tacked onto the bill (29.99 for a REDUX membership). There was a $50 equipment initiation fee charged and there will be another $40 upgrade fee charged with next months verizon bill. A $15/month subscription for a protection plan I don't want was also added to my verizon plan. In the store the salesman made out that I was getting a great deal and they were waving taxes and fees, but in reality they were just hiding the fees from me until I got home and could log onto my verizon account and see all the charges that will appear on future bills. The phone installation also was sub-standard. I lost all of my WhatsApp messages and who knows what else in the transfer process. And, the box also came without any charging cable inside. I think the salesman pulled it out during setup and forgot to put it back. So beware getting a new phone from this place. read more

I had a great experience upgrading 5 phones, a watch and an iPad w Nick at this store. He was extremely patient dealing with me, my spouse, my sister in law, my brother, my mother and my service dog. He is also very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain everything and make some recommendations for accessories. He worked with me to get each of us what we wanted and made the whole process seamless. The other guys were great as well including Dionis and the manager Dominic. I wouldn't go anywhere else. We came in to purchase new phones and if there was a way for this guy to upsell us without telling us he was upselling us (not even telling us there were different price options) then he took it. Really shady business practices, I think, and not a way to build trust with a first-time customer. On top of that, he offered us a switch in plans that he advertised as free, and refrained from telling us the change would cost us $30 PER LINE. Have an iphoneX. Went in for a sim card issue. Apple told me to have them change the sim card. They (3 Salesmen) all tried to get me to purchase a new phone from them. Never changed the sim card at this location. Only told me of repeated problems with sim cards and other iphoneX phones. What poor customer service. They thought they had an easy mark to get to spend his money. My phone's warranty is good thru November of 2019. They also told me my iphone was out of warranty. BUYERS BE WARE!! read more

Stay away. Here's how this location is doing business during Covid 3/2020. I am a first responder, My iPhone is stolen while out on a run, and Verizon website says this location is the only place in within an hour from my home that has an iPhone that I can pick up today. Ok, I call the store to make sure they have it before placing my order. Justin, the rep working that day, picks up and tells me that its easier for him to set it up on his own, no need to go through the website. Mistake. This store charges a premium on their phones, meaning I pay more for the same exact thing than if I had ordered through the website and still picked up there. No mention of this. When I get there Justin asks me if I want a "jetpack", shrugs his shoulders and says that Verizon is giving them away for free because of coronavirus. I say why not, not knowing even what it is and believing its free so no big deal. Turns out it adds a line that's $10 a month. No mention of this either, just the discussion of whether I want it or not. Justin also added $30 for phone drying insurance (on a phone that is water resistant for like 30 minutes) ALSO without asking me if I wanted it. Then he also tells me I'm ONLY eligible for the highest tier of insurance. Another lie. Number 4 now if you're counting at home. I cant go inside the store bc of COVID so my only interaction with him was to give him my card, and to get it back with a verbal report of charges and my phone. This guy didn't even give me a receipt until I asked (strike 5 if you ask me) - I would imagine this was another tactic to conceal all of these tacked on extras. When I get home and look at the receipt and my bill online I get upset, and call back. Here are some gems from our discussion: Me: The phone online was $700 but you charged $710. you said it was the same. Justin: It is the same, in the cell phone world there's absolutely no difference (my wife and I laughed out loud at this one, don't care so much about the extra $10, but another lie and ridiculous claim) Me: So does this extra add anything to my bill? Justin: Some extra tax Me: But if I take the line off, is my bill $10 less? Justin: Yes (had to ask about 5 different ways to get him to finally admit this) Me: Whats the purpose of the REDUX drying system if the phone is essentially waterproof? Justin: It is waterproof, but if it gets wet it will not work. Anyway, I called Verizon and am working on getting things straightened out with them. This place made an already stressful experience 10x worse. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. The employees and manager here are shady liars and scammers. Went in to buy a new phone and was helped by Justin. He pushed a new case etc and told me it would be covered by my phone trade in ( funny how I ended up paying much more than the trade in). All the while, telling me how getting a new phone is expensive but it's an investment. Then, he brings out a hot spot device and tells me "this comes FREE with the phone". Ok cool! As he's ringing it all up, he slips in how it's $10 in taxes for the "free device". When I question him he responds, "well you have to pay taxes on everything". Um no, you told me it was free, free is free. I have a few words with him and the manager who both just shrug their shoulders and the manager says, "give her a charging box". Oh wow thanks, what am I going to do with just a box and not the cord?! Then seconds later the manager Chris texts Justin and Justin looks up at him and laughs (clearly talking about me). Now I pay ( a crazy amount) and ask for a receipt and Justin quickly responds, "it'll be emailed to you". I leave with a very uneasy feeling and go look up reviews about them. Lots of negative reviews and a few saying how they don't give you a receipt as part of their way to hide all the fees. So, I go back in and request a receipt. I go through the receipt with Justin and question what a "redux membership" is. "Oh it's a store fee for if your phone gets wet we have something to try and dry it with." I tell him I don't want it and he tells me it's part of the store fees. I leave with a very very bad taste in my mouth. That night I'm talking to a friend on the phone and she tells me how I keep going in and out (I had full service). The next morning I decide to check my Verizon account. Low and behold the "free" device was added as a new line that I'd be paying $20 a month for!!!! On top of that I'd be paying $130 for it!!! Now I'm fuming. Later that day I go to another Verizon and they look over the receipt. They are shocked at all the unknown charges and help me figure out which ones to demand my money back on. I go back to the Croton store and tell them I want to return everything and tell them how they scammed me with the "free device" etc. Justin was rude and said well when you add a new line you have to pay. Um, you never disclosed any of this information and you can't just assume people know that. He also sneakily added on insurance to both my phone and the "free" device and when questioned he said that insurance is automatic now and you don't get a choice (complete bull!!). They refused to take back my case and screen protector, saying that once I take it they can't take it back and they tried charging me a $70 restocking fee. I demanded to see where it's $70 and they ended up charging me $50. They are liars and don't tell you anything about what you're buying. Oh and they're not a real Verizon, they're an "authorized dealer". When I went to the other Verizon they told me they take back all accessories and would've never charged me a restocking fee since I had everything. They also showed me how they're supposed to ask if I want insurance and how there's a box to decline! Stay far far away from Croton "Verizon"!!! read more

I had an excellent experience at this store. I went there yesterday, (February 16), after being ignored for nearly 40 minutes, at the Ossining location. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by both Andrew and Dominic. Andrew, assisted me with transferring my moms old prepaid plan, to a new prepaid plan. There was no pressure to upgrade to a more expensive plan, or upgrade her old flip phone,to a new and more expensive phone. I would like to thank Andrew, and Dominic, for their professionalism, knowledge, and patience. Promised promo/discount on new phone was never added to my order. The price I was quoted was not accurate and the phone price was almost double what I was quoted in the store. I had received a text from this store with a $50 discount on new phone -- so I travelled to Croton-on-Hudson from Southern Westchester to buy a new phone. I went in asking for the Pixel 5 5G, which they did not have in stock. They steered me to the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G, and told me there was a promo running and that the phone would cost less than $200. None of the promos were ever applied to my order. When I received my first Verizon Wireless bill, I called the store and they told me it takes 2 billing cycles for promos to be applied to my bill. They never checked my actual order. I also called Verizon Wireless directly and they told me the same thing. When no promos were applied to my account after 2 billing cycles, I called Verizon Wireless directly. No promos were added to my order at time of purchase, which is what is supposed to happen. I don't know if the people in the store intentionally lied or are just incompetent; but I will not be returning to this store. In the future, I will go to an actual Verizon Wireless store, not an authorized retailer, and definitely not Wireless Zone in Croton-on-Hudson. This has been a huge hassle. read more
