Verizon used to provide what I considered some of the best customer service--representatives were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and focused on resolving the issue. Unfortunately, my recent experience was very different. In my opinion, the level of service has gone from 100% to 3%. I recently needed a replacement phone. The first representative I spoke with was kind, although she spoke incessantly and repeatedly tried to discuss upgrades. I explained at least four times that I am not the person who makes decisions regarding upgrades or changes to our account. I also told her several times that I needed to get off the phone because my phone was overheating and the battery was dying--which was the reason I needed a replacement in the first place. She told me that, because I had been so nice, she would waive both the $49 replacement fee and the $14 delivery fee. She also told me the replacement phone would arrive on Monday. Later, I realized I had forgotten to ask about the size of the replacement phone, so I called back. Unfortunately, my experience with the second representative was even more frustrating. He was very intense and would not allow me to end the call, despite my repeatedly explaining that I do not make decisions regarding our account. I eventually told him I had to go and hung up. He then called me several times and left multiple messages, including one that simply said, "Wow." I found this behavior inappropriate and uncomfortable. The delivery experience was also frustrating. I had arranged for my daughter to be at my home to sign for the phone based on the delivery date I was originally given. Verizon then changed the delivery date, so I sent her home. The date was changed again, and FedEx attempted delivery in the meantime. This created unnecessary confusion and inconvenience. To add to my frustration, I am now being charged the $49 replacement fee, despite being specifically told by the first representative that it would be waived. We have been Verizon customers for approximately 15 years, and it is disappointing to feel that customer service has become so focused on sales and upgrades rather than listening to and helping the customer. Pushy sales tactics are irritating, especially when a customer has clearly stated multiple times that they are not authorized to make those decisions. Verizon can do better. We have remained loyal customers for many years, but experiences like this have caused us to seriously consider whether it is time to take our business to another company. I would appreciate someone reviewing this situation, including the promised waiver of the replacement and delivery fees, as well as the repeated and unwanted calls from the second representative. The upgrade was needed immediately as the old phone was no longer taking any charge and she needs the device for work. We explained that to the lone man working at this location (picture a cartoon car salesman with no name tag). He informed us that if we wanted to get a new phone right then that same day that we were required to purchase a "bundle" that included a phone case, screen protector and charger. We said fine because he indicated it was the only option to get a new phone ASAP and we were in a vulnerable position of needing it that night. The "bundle" was a cheap package of products that we found selling for $35 at Walmart but we were charged $150 for it. The salesman showcased very little understanding of the transaction and kept throwing out new and varying numbers every time I asked clarifying questions. He then, without asking, began to unbox the "bundle" and dropped half the contents on the floor before installing it on the new phone. Little did we know this service (which was not offered before he began nor explained to us until we were given a receipt) would cost us another $50. $50 to put on a cheap phone case and screen protector. I walked out of the store feeling violated. I walked out of the store a victim of a scam worthy of $200. I have already opened a case with Verizon corporate. They confirmed with me that no policy of requiring a bundle purchase exists. I will not be doing business with this store location again.

We came in at 30 minutes before closing on a Monday to open a business line on our account and get…read morea new SIM card for my phone since mine has been faulty. I never expect much customer service at a cell phone place, especially before closing, but Alejandra took great care of us. She talked us through the process, was upfront about pricing, got us a free phone for the business online and set up the two new sims, all in about 10-15 minutes! She was super polite, friendly and helpful the whole time. 2 customers came in after us and she greeted them with a smile as we left as well. It's so nice to receive this level of care at a cell phone place. At the larger places like Verizon and AT&T you're treated like a number, pricing isn't upfront and every time you go onto the store it seems like everything takes at least an hour. It's one of the many reasons that although we could easily afford to go with a "bigger" carrier, we are more than happy with Cricket, their low prices, great cell reception and friendly representatives. We'll definitely come back to this spot should we ever need to service at a store again, but seeing as though we've been with Cricket 3 years and this is the first time we've had to go in to an actual location, that probably won't be anytime soon!

I asked what the taxes and fees are, while the topic was concerning additional costs. And at this point, it would have been nice for them to mention the existence of an activation fee while on the topic, but they did not. Fast forward to checkout. The total was substantially more than what I anticipated. At this point, along with less than good customer service, I changed my mind. The problem is they had or said they had already transferred my phone number away from the original carrier. So essentially past the point of no return, I felt compelled to go ahead; what choice was there? They take ten dollars off the activation fee but the majority of it still existed. Next day, looking at my receipt, they charged $104.99 less $80.00 instant rebate for the advertised $19.99 phone. I go back into the store and at first, they offer to place the refund on my next month's bill, but fearing a delay tactic from them, I justed wanted the $5 then. They said they could not refund it without a supervisor or the businessowner (quite possibly one and the same). On my Sunday and Monday visits there were no supervisory personnel. Sunday, only one employee, total in the store! What about employee(s) getting breaks or a lunch? If past, present, or future employees read this, they might find California labor code 226.7 (c) interesting! So back to me, I really cannot change my mind after discovering all the costs, prior to paying. I cannot feasibly or easily get the $5.00 overcharge refunded. I must wonder how many others paid this overcharge and are not aware of it and how many future customers will be overcharged if it is not corrected. I tend to be generous with my reviews, but on this 46th review of mine, it is only the second time ever, I have given one star. Please go to a different store. I talked with another location, because I needed to do something about my account and did not want to further deal with this store, and they mentioned that they had heard of numerous problems with this store as well. This store is so bad that when my billing cycle arrives next month, I am seriously considering forfeiting my phone number so I can start my account over with a proper Cricket store and not give this one store any more of my residual business through recurring monthly payments!

On multiple occasions he's called me from random #'s asking me to Zelle him some cash because he can't afford to get his phone fixed, so that's why when my phone charging port failed I knew exactly where to go. I've been on Android & Samsung for 13 years never having had an issue other than loss. So when my S24 Ultra USB-C Port got loose I was thinking of just upgrading, but having lost some key features when they released the S25 Ultra I decided to repair. Phone was at 15% and was taking 3 hrs to charge via wireless and I needed my phone for work the next day (4PM thursday). I called ahead and they said $125 without knowing what model/brand. Showed up and James quoted hour and a half which was perfect as they closed at 7 and had the port in stock. They can sure fix the easy stuff, but when I asked about cases and accessories they pretty much only carry Iphone and the latest models from other brands S24 Ultra is a flagship phone. Service was great, but my screen protector was bubbled from when they removed the glass. Not a big deal, but I wish they had my brand/model for a replacement. While i was browsing I heard James interacting with another customer which gave me pause as he didn't seem to have any sympathy for them wanting to save an old phone which had pictures that were priceless to them. Loss of a star for that. Haven't had any issues since and I'll likely return if I ever have need for repair not through my insurance.
