I started a new service contract here and purchased a new phone. Phone was a dud it stopped working after a week. Doesn't recognize the manufacturer's cable, takes eternity to charge and drops calls consistently. They gave me all sorts of excuses why it would not work and in between kept trying to sell me... stuff that had nothing to do with improving the phones performance. They used their charging cable, it worked and they assured me it would continue ot. I returned to Route 3 with the same issue and the woman who takes your info and puts you in que for the wait said, "Oh yeah. we hear that problem alot. That phone just does that." Then the representative pointed to how I was plugging in the phone as the root of the problem... and oh by the way went into another sales pitch about more how I should buy more... stuff. The phone at this point is essentially a landline phone. I can't use it unless its charging. After two hours it's charged all the way up to 2%, I called 611 and the real Verizon tech support will replace the phone next day under its warrenty... ingenius idea. I will never initiate a phone purchase or return to an authorized store for service again. All transactions will be by 611. It wasn't until I searched for the Route 3 store's phone number that I saw all of these complaints and realized they have no incentive to sell working Verizon phones or make sure they work. As long as your phone isn't working your a captive audience for them to sell gadgets at 500% markup. The Route 3 store makes a great night club, but the worst wireless experience. Its packed with customers waiting for action, while the representatives mill around looking relaxed and beautiful, talking about the fashionable things you can put on your phone... How about you make sure the thing works first? read more

AFTER 17 YEARS with the company i will be leaving cause of this store...I went into the store ready to purchase a new phone. they asked me what it is I needed the phone for when I told them they showed me to a number of phones I picked one and went home... a week later it said Memory full they sold me a phone that could not support my applications or pictures . Then i was sold a memory card by the company which also dosen't do jack for most for applications so again cant use it .. the cream on the pie Is the new phone is faulty and gets stuck in boot loops and factory resets the phone quite often. ALSO the COMPLIMENTARY hum navigation wich was not free at all. Actually im still stuck paying for it. It was applied to my bill and was supposed to be a free COMPLIMENTARY navigation offered by the store promo. Yea complimentary my rear end. im so mad i bought a i phone from apple and after 17 years with verizion i will be leaving . I came here to upgrade my phone and greeted by a very pleasant and friendly employee who typed my name into the computer and said someone would be with me shortly. Someone was with my shortly but I was talking to my mom and he said he would help the next customer and then come back. After I saw that he had attended 3 other customers and was probably not planning on coming back I asked the friendly greeter to please put my name on the list again. I was then helped by a girl named Shannon or something like that. She was not at all interested in helping me and even stopped paying attention to me several times to tend to a string that was loose on her shirt. I just stood there waiting for her to stop tending to her shirt and then waited for her to stop talking to another employee all while cutting me off as she was supposed to be helping me. I have never experienced such blatant disinterest from an employee who is about to make a big sale (I was buying an iphone4). I will NOT be coming to this store again and that girl Shannon or Sharon should be retrained or fired. read more

Salesperson literally shut the door and locked it in my face at 4:50PM stating "we cant let anyone in once we close". They were supposed to close at 5PM. Incredibly unprofessional. I've worked in retail. You cannot lock your doors before your stated closing time. Especially in this type of industry where people often need your services. I understand the employees are there late due to crowds but that has to be taken into account when they list their hours. You know if you close at 5 customers can take 20-30 mins to service so you have to rely on being there until 5:30. Simple as that. To close a door in a customers face that just rushed to your store to give you business thinking they will have no problem because your stated closing time is 5PM and they know they are there before that is completely unacceptable. This is the worst Verizon store. They could careless about the customer. From the sales girl to the manager....I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone and they lie! I had 6 days until my upgrade, I couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone. They looked into the hole where you plug in your ear buds with their naked eye and told me there was water damage. Funny, I can see just great and I didn't see water damage. Then they said they have a machine to check but t was broken. They refused to let me use my upgrade and offered me no other option except to buy a new phone. Are they kidding me? I ended up going to the Verizon in Totowa, NJ and the experience was so much better and the people were so much nicer. By the way, if you google what the problem is with your phone, there is usually a way to fix it yourself, as in my case! I wish I could give this place negative stars! read more

I spoke with a Verizon sales rep online who was willing to waive my upgrade date ( I was one day early - six hours if you want to be exact ) and let me purchase a new phone as I was going to be out of town. I felt more comfortable doing this in store, so I took the woman's name, and went in store. Only to walk in and not be greeted for 5 minutes, and not have my name taken for 10 minutes. The sales associate immediately tried to sell me one of Verizon's tablets. After insisting that I dont want one right now, he told me it would be a problem for me to upgrade today... six hours before my actual upgrade date. I explained him the situation with the online associate and my situation regarding the fact that I would be out of town and spoke to a manager who again told me they could only sell me the phone at an increase of $100. At this point, the sales associate literally said "Please don't leave us for Sprint." I left the store, called Verizon customer service who apologized for me on their behalf, and processed the order. I was in this store to get my daughter a new Fitbit. I had the pleasure of dealing with Chris (the store manager) & Steve. Both were very friendly and extremely helpful. I didn't wait long at all for assistance. They have more people walking around "checking" you in than they have helping you with your issue. I had to wait 30 minutes to find out I cannot update my phone. Why not just let me know right away? Pros: it's a big store so they had phones in stock and on display that other Verizon wireless stores did not. Cons: Since it's a big store they are busy, if you have 10 minutes of patience someone will help you. My experience was great. I went to this store for accessories for my new iPhone Pro. The customer service is AWFUL and employees are garbage!! I asked for a glass screen protector, phone case, and wireless charging pad. The employee pointed across the store where the cases are and told me the display flips and to pick out one that has a pink label and says 5.8. I walked over and had no idea what he meant so I pulled the display case off the wall and showed him which one I wanted. He finally walked over to the display after getting the wireless charging pad I wanted and screen protector. He said no, the display flips and you pull the drawer out. How was I supposed to know that!! I think the employee should have walked over with me at the beginning instead of being lazy! He installed my screen protector and I paid and left the store. I went right home and noticed there were smears between the phone glass and screen protector. I went back the next day and showed a different employee than the one that installed it and the employee told me since it is a Zagg screen protector it is guaranteed and has a warranty. The label on package said LIMITED WARRANTY. He said if I go to the mall that is 20 minutes away, there is a kiosk and they will install a new one at no charge (he said if the Verizon store installs it, I would have to pay for a new screen protector) I said to him since they the Verizon store made an error and did an awful job installing it, they should replace it. The employee said to me that they install the screens as a courtesy and there is no guarantee of perfection. I said to him WHY INSTALL THEM THEN! DOES THIS HAPPEN OFTEN THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO COME BACK? He said no. I said well I think you should replace the screen since it was obviously your error. Again he ran the line about no guarantee of perfection and if it happens again that it is not installed perfectly I would have to keep paying for new screen protectors. THANKS FOR NOTHING i said and left the store and drove to BEST BUY where I had a professional, courteous sales clerk that said he would GUARANTEE he would install the screen protector perfectly. I bought a new SP which was the same as Verizon Store for $22 and paid $8 to install. I had called the Zagg customer service phone number and was told to call the kiosk in mall and they said they charge $10 to install the SP. I'm pretty sure they would have charged for the SP too. Anyway, the Best Buy employee did a PERFECT JOB and said to me that the Verizon store did a horrible job of installing my previous screen protector. Verizon charged $44 for their SP. I will NEVER go back to this Verizon store AGAIN even though I get an 18 percent discount on accessories through my job. The worst, laziest clerks with HORRIBLE customer service!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! read more

I was given wrong information about a plan - and not just one piece of information by one person - but two pieces of information (variable charges for calls and start date of monthly billing cycle) by two people - a sales person and the manager. I ended up not buying the phone there (waste of my trip) because I thought the info they gave me was wrong - which was later confirmed when I called their 800 number, and they told me what the store had told me was wrong. DO NOT USE THIS STORE! I've been a loyal Verizon customer for over a decade so when I upgraded my plan and phone here, I didn't expect issues. The staff seemed very nice and the guy helping me told me my new plan included a jetpack. I told him I didn't need it and he told me you might as well take it, it's free! So I did. However, when I got my first bill, it was NOT free, costing $70 with activation fees and line access. As soon as I got the bill, I took the jetpack back to the store, told them what happened and the manager seemed very nice, said all fees would be returned because he knew the employee and "seemed like something he would do." However, nothing changed on my bill and 2 days before it was due, I contacted them again and am now being told that I'm still responsible for the activation fees and the time I had it, even though the store employee was the only one to ever take it out of the box. So, guess I'm stuck paying because I was lied to. Guess I'll have to consider it an idiot tax for using this store...don't make the same mistake I did! read more

The employees at this Verizon have no idea what they are doing, and can't even make up for it with good customer service. This place is useless. Save your time and go to a different store. On top of my bad experience, this happened to another customer: When I arrived, there was a girl (brown hair and nose ring, don't know name) checking in people on the tablet as they arrived. An elderly man with a cane was there to pay a landline phone bill, which is a diff. company. Instead of politely referring him to the appropriate place, she proceeded to yell at this older gentleman. "What are you EVEN ASKING?! I don't understand what you want! WE DON'T DO THAT HERE" I couldn't believe how rude she was. All he needed was an address to send his bill, which she could have easily googled (I doubt he had the internet to do it himself). Disgusting behavior that shouldn't come from anybody, much less someone who's job is customer service. read more

Went to this Verizon store needing help activating my new phone after transferring from ATT. The day before I went to the Hazlet Verizon store and had a horrendous experience. The manager Ken was so rude and unhelpful. I must say my experience at this Verizon was 100% positive. Jasmine helped us out and she was both helpful and pleasant. Poulard, the store manager, made sure we were all on the same page and explained everythinf thoroughly. Customer service was fantastic. What a difference. Highly recommended! read more

Verizon in Jackson NJ store # 194 - Store sales men John handing out "Fee hot spot" does not fully disclose the following!!! This changes your current plan and a monthly fee of $10.00 is added, in addition another new line is added to your bill. Return Hot Spot Device and store now charges me $75.00 restocking fee. As of now only have 1/2 of my original contact re-instated, still fighting to have the unlimited plan re-instated to the one line.. DON'T go to indirect Verizon stores go to DIRECT stores, better yet deal on-line for everything!!!! If they had NO STARs this would have been selected. read more

I've been to this location three times when upgrading my phone. Each time, I had a different salesperson. The first experience was not a good one. I had upgraded my phone at the same time that my sister did. After we had gone home, we realized that all of our contacts and messages had been switched under the other person's telephone number. My sister had to fix this ridiculous error! The next time I went to the store, I had a different salesman, he was also not that great. He spent more time trying to sell me the "extras" like a case, a car charger, etc instead of really helping me. The last experience, I finally encountered someone who was both professional and extremely helpful! Tiffany was the last person I worked with, and I hope that she is still at this location because I won't do business with anyone else. She took the time to explain the pros and cons of the diffrent phone upgrades and didn't make any errors or try to sell me unnecessary products. Finally someone who knows the product!
