Absolutely the worst customer service ever! I have stayed away from the Verizon store most of the last 10 years due to fantastically bad customer service a number of times at this store before. I stuck my head in a couple of days ago, since both my phones are due for an upgrade. There was one employee in the store. Otherwise, it was empty. He was friendly and gave me decent service and information. So, I decided to give them a second shot. I called ahead and they told me it was a good time to come in because they were dead, Wednesday at 6:55pm. I arrived about 7pm and suddenly there was a half hour wait, even though there were only 3 non-employees in the store. After 20 minutes, the manager kept coming by to tell me it would be 5 to 10 minutes more every 5 to 10 minutes. At 55 minutes or so in, she came by to say that there was someone that could help me finally. But, I had been told by friends that I should request one of the two best guys that were both there. The manager said one of them was wrapping up and could take me in a minute or two. I waited another 10-15 minutes only to be waited on by the guy I had originally passed on. I had come with question, but I was so mad at this point I just told him to do whatever it took to get me out of the door as fast as possible. If I had been told at the outset that it would be a half-hour to 45-minutes I would have left. If I knew it would be over an hour, I would have immediately turned around and left. It took an hour and a half start to finish to get out the door. If you live in the Del Mar-UTC area, go to Best Buy in La Jolla. They give awesome service. I only went to Del Mar Verizon because it is 2 miles instead of 5 miles from my house, but I would have save at least 50 minutes by making the additional drive... and probably got a better deal. I will never go to this Verizon store again, and I'm very tempted to cancel my service with Verizon altogether even though I have been with them since 1998. read more

Worst customer service I have ever seen. I've waited one hour fourth five minutes and have yet to be helped. Six other people waiting also and the manager is so flippant and rude, he doesn't seem to care at all. Why bother having a phone store if you have no phones to sell and no way to help customers. I don't know if it is just me but every time I walk into a Verizon store my blood pressure rises. I get so stressed out and always feel they are not telling me the full story. The deals are so backwards, maybe the staff is just unaware of how the plans work but I always leave frustrated. I take really good care of my phone so I don't have to go in very often. I believe that the people are mostly nice but it is never a quick trip. there are so many options and deals and I never know if I am making the right choice. I love my phone but dread going into the store! read more

Recently went into this store to replace a broken phone. Never again sales rep didn't know enough to be selling. Told me the edge program has a opt out at anytime. I went back to cancel and was told no you can't your phone is in a case then we need manager approval now I find out I am under two different contracts. Not sure why this is such a big deal but it is. I will only deal with customer care for all future purchases. They at least get trained stores obviously don't. read more

Probably the worst Verizon store ever. I've been unfortunately going to this location for approximately five years, and the staff seems to get more unfriendly every time I go in there. Except for the two female greeters I spoke to, the male reps were rude and unhelpful. Try to go to a different location. read more

How many times do I have to say "no I don't want insurance", and she charges me for it anyways??? and of course it is a bare to then get it canceled and get our refund back. Not to mention all of the many times we have been incorrectly charged and have to constantly follow up to make sure we get our money back after they PROMISED they would take care of it. Service at Verizon stores are really hit or miss in my experience. The Del Mar store is really busy most of the time, and usually my wife and I get pretty good service. On our last visit, we were assisted by Kaniela, and got 5 star service in helping my wife pick out a phone, get her information transferred, etc. I was really impressed. Today, I called the store to get an appointment for an upcoming phone that is in pre-order status and will sell out fast. Kaniela actually picked up the phone, got me set up with an appt, took my info in case anything changed, and also gave me his cell phone number if anything happens so he can hold the phone for me when it comes in. Again, first class service. I have not been so lucky with other sales agents there, so I wanted to write my experience with Kaniela, so others can ask for him! GREAT JOB Kaniela. The rebate system Verizon has is TERRIBLE. I was not notified by verizion that my rebate was invalid . Verizion wouldn't help me , so I had to call a 3rd party administrator because my rebate was invalid. It was invalid because they wanted me to call to verify my address ( the address i gave them when i completed the rebate form). the rebate seems to be designed to make us forget that we filed & not get out money due to some lame invalid technicality read more

I have to complain about Desiree as well. As I was waiting in line for my turn I was really hoping not to get stuck with her. No such luck. She was initially helping out an elderly client & was extremely impatient with her. Basically throwing the phone back in the woman's face & telling her to buy a new one at a minimum cost of $170. The woman convinced her to make another test call & it turns out what Desiree though was wrong wasn't. Then it was my turn. She was impatient, unhelpful & smacked her gum in my face the whole time. I ended up going to another location for service. This location is very crowded & busy. Better to go to a quieter location for service anyways. read more

Tyler, the new assistant manager, did a truly wonderful job helping to rectify a problem created through the Verizon computer system in order to complete my order of a phone I had bought through a different employee. Tyler went above and beyond to clear up the problem and, through talking with me, was able to help save me 15% on our phone bill each month. My first wireless phone was purchased under a contract with Air Touch cellular who was bought out by Verizon Wireless, that's how long I've been a customer. My family of four all have Verizon phones. Within the last two years I have purchased four phones, close to $3,000. So, yesterday I received a phone replacement and decided to walk in the Del Mar store to seek help activating the phone, but primarily to purchase a screen protector. The store was empty, I was the only one there. The customer representative was rude and quick to admonish me for asking for help to activate a phone -as that is not a service they provide and handed me an instructions flyer, and pointed out that a phone for questions was located at the bottom of the flyer. Ok, fair I can do this and began to walk out. I turned around and asked him if he could point out on my phone where the sim card tray is located. He complained about having to do that and told me to call the number on the flyer. I insisted and he reluctantly pull his phone and pointed it out. Really, you can't help a loyal Verizon wireless customer for one second? I expect so much more from Verizon and they deliver the worst customer service, and this is not the first time. I'm definitely taking my business elsewhere for all accessories and I'm close to walking out of their world with all four of my lines. Advice: Customer service is key in any business, retrain you workers on it, they desperately need it. read more

My phone had some problems and I had called tech support and went to a couple other stores. But here they were able to help me very quickly and they were all very friendly. The manager Eric did a fantastic job and I think this is one of the best stores around. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in to exchange a busted iPad Mini and was told there was 6 people ahead of me, asked why I was there and I told him to exchange a busted iPad. I waited more than a 1/2 hour to be seen AND they let someone with a "simple exchange" that came in after me go ahead of me. When they finally got to me and I showed them the iPad they gave me a card to call the insurance company. I could not exchange the device there. WHY didn't they tell me that at the door in the first place? Why did I take an hour and a half out of my work day to get the message that I had to do this myself, online? It's infuriating that customer service has gotten so robotic that employees cannot diverge from a "script" to actually HELP a customer and save them some time and frustration. You really need to relook at your customer service, the heck with the customer service scores.. go back to REAL customer service, where people actually care. read more

Lauren Gilmore helped me when my old phone died. I am always expecting an up-sell but told her about my phone usage, which is minimal. She introduced me to all the options, and gave me a recommendation based on usage and phone type. My review is based on her service and I will look for her if I need to go in again. 6:45PM called this store to request help. It was Friday night. Anthony told us to come on in. No waiting. We're here till 8PM. We wanted to switch all the photos , texts, data from one phone to another and then buy another phone. Jennifer helped us and she was beyond amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and determined to provide everything we wanted although it was approaching 8PM and we had more to do. I offered to come back another time so they could get out of there on their Friday night. 8:10PM and we are wrapping things up. A customer is standing outside the store and they let him in to help him AFTER closing hours. Jennifer showed us how to operate functions on our own and then we apologized to her co-worker Jaime for keeping him late on a Friday night. He said he was meeting friends across the border for Karaoke night. Since we had some time left, I asked him to sing for us. He played music through the speakers on display and serenaded us with a beautiful Spanish love song. I wanted to order in food and drinks and just hang out with these two for the evening. I can't say enough good things about their customer service , product knowledge and NO pressure sales. This is now MY store. read more
