I never expect much customer service at a cell phone place, especially before closing, but Alejandra took great care of us. She talked us through the process, was upfront about pricing, got us a free phone for the business online and set up the two new sims, all in about 10-15 minutes! She was super polite, friendly and helpful the whole time. 2 customers came in after us and she greeted them with a smile as we left as well. It's so nice to receive this level of care at a cell phone place. At the larger places like Verizon and AT&T you're treated like a number, pricing isn't upfront and every time you go onto the store it seems like everything takes at least an hour. It's one of the many reasons that although we could easily afford to go with a "bigger" carrier, we are more than happy with Cricket, their low prices, great cell reception and friendly representatives. We'll definitely come back to this spot should we ever need to service at a store again, but seeing as though we've been with Cricket 3 years and this is the first time we've had to go in to an actual location, that probably won't be anytime soon!

I asked what the taxes and fees are, while the topic was concerning additional costs. And at this point, it would have been nice for them to mention the existence of an activation fee while on the topic, but they did not. Fast forward to checkout. The total was substantially more than what I anticipated. At this point, along with less than good customer service, I changed my mind. The problem is they had or said they had already transferred my phone number away from the original carrier. So essentially past the point of no return, I felt compelled to go ahead; what choice was there? They take ten dollars off the activation fee but the majority of it still existed. Next day, looking at my receipt, they charged $104.99 less $80.00 instant rebate for the advertised $19.99 phone. I go back into the store and at first, they offer to place the refund on my next month's bill, but fearing a delay tactic from them, I justed wanted the $5 then. They said they could not refund it without a supervisor or the businessowner (quite possibly one and the same). On my Sunday and Monday visits there were no supervisory personnel. Sunday, only one employee, total in the store! What about employee(s) getting breaks or a lunch? If past, present, or future employees read this, they might find California labor code 226.7 (c) interesting! So back to me, I really cannot change my mind after discovering all the costs, prior to paying. I cannot feasibly or easily get the $5.00 overcharge refunded. I must wonder how many others paid this overcharge and are not aware of it and how many future customers will be overcharged if it is not corrected. I tend to be generous with my reviews, but on this 46th review of mine, it is only the second time ever, I have given one star. Please go to a different store. I talked with another location, because I needed to do something about my account and did not want to further deal with this store, and they mentioned that they had heard of numerous problems with this store as well. This store is so bad that when my billing cycle arrives next month, I am seriously considering forfeiting my phone number so I can start my account over with a proper Cricket store and not give this one store any more of my residual business through recurring monthly payments!

I'd suggest everyone get insurance for devices when you contracted with a cell provider. There were 2 customers being helped, but I was still assisted immediately. They had my account pulled up, knew the models of our phones, and started the screen protector replacements quickly. Never have I got in and out of a Cell providers store so fast. Quick, kind, efficient. I'll be back when I drop my phone a few hundred more times :)

It first started off with my husband & I walking in to see the price of upgrading our phones and changing phone plans so that we could be on our own phone bill from our families. The lady we were working with was patient about it, but something I should've seen wrong about our transaction was that she was able to pull us off our old plan even though we weren't the account holders. She made a couple calls, and was able to set us up. She asked if I owned a business, which I do have a small business; and offered their Internet plan under their Business line. She signed us up for a Business plan with phone & internet, okay done! After the transaction was done, she said she was going to e-mail the receipt for us. Waited 2-3 days, no e-mail showing what I really paid for and what was charged. I had to personally come into the store to ask for a breakdown bill of what was being charged. What really got me questioning this store's ethics was the fact that my parents gave me a call from a different Verizon store, I spoke to one of their employees and she made me aware that it should not have been possible to remove me from my family plan without the account holder's permission. How did she do it? I don't know. She sounded concerned and mentioned it was not ethical to do. It was already done, so I couldn't go back. I didn't appreciate that once we had the Internet for about a month, it was actually worse than what I had originally. I didn't want to change the Verizon internet plan because it's what made our whole phone line cheap. So upselling us on something that didn't fit into our household needs was something I should've double checked on. Lastly, I turned in my phone for the trade-in price because that's what we originally came to do for upgrading our iPhones. They said it would reflect in the phone bill after 1-2 billing cycles. I waited & waited, probably 3 months and I still didn't notice the changes. I had to LITERALLY go to another Verizon store to check and see if my trade-in promotion applied to my account, and they didn't put it in. Everything got fixed thanks to the Verizon customer service & different store location. Details like this are crucial in maintaining trust in a business, which is why I'm never coming back to this location again. They don't care about the customer, they care about making commission off of you.

We live in an area of Bonsall that has no other broadband options, other than satellite. Kind of a broadband dark spot. Just from that standpoint, SDB has been a godsend. I work from home and am utterly dependent on reliable, high quality/speed internet service. Speeds average from 70Mbps to around 100Mbps. Pings are decent at around 14-20ms. When streaming HD content, we never have issues with feed being interrupted. There have been a few outages over the years, but they never seem to last long. And whenever I've called SDB's tech support they have always been very informative, helpful and patient. I've read some of the negative reviews and am sorry that others have had issues--I wonder if that's location-specific. Some of us in more rural areas can find it difficult to find reliable service. All I can say is that, for me, SDB has been completely first rate on all fronts, and I've dealt with AT&T, Cox, Comcast and a few others over the years, none of which have been as reliable or as helpful as SDB.

I bought them May 31 2025 (at this La Jolla location off Girard Ave.) and on March 27 2026 the meta ray bans stopped working. Did everything I could, hard reset, the app reset but they would not turn on. I go to my local sunglass hut and they advise me of the $120 deductible. They also advised me that I can only go to the ray ban 1's and that they don't have them. That they're most likely non existent. I specifically asked Robert what would happen if my glasses weren't around anymore and he said they'd give me the latest version. My local SH says if I want to go to the new version I'd have pay the difference and the deductible. I paid $250 to switch to the Oakleys to see if they're any better. That's the $120+125+taxes. In less than 1 year that comes out to paying about $340 for each pair... my local SH provided me with a pamphlet that showed the deductibles, Robert did not. I placed everything in my SH bag the day I bought them and placed everything in our spare room. Receipt and all. I was never given a pamphlet. The pamphlet would have showed the deductible which would have ruined Robert's warranty extension/SH insurance sale. I went back to the date on my phones photo album and can see where the sale has been made, no pamphlet. My local one was knowledgeable and informative. Robert was not. Robert was less than truthful on the deductible and about the question if my version 1's weren't around anymore. UPDATE: 05/05/2026 I responded to the comment of Luxottica, asking me to reach out to them for a resolution. I wonder if that comment will go away after this update. A person named Julian reached out to me stating they want to fix this for me. He stated he was going to reach out to his boss about crediting the deductible back to me. He said he's going to ask his boss but he's got a busy schedule to he'll see when he gets back to me. Within 2 minutes, he calls me back and says he's just going "make the executive decision" and credit money back to me but that he can't credit the deductible because it's separate from their refund abilities so he's going to return the (new) Oakley glasses difference that I paid which was $5 more or less. I said, perfect (hopes are up, they're making this right). However, I asked, would this affect my Oakleys manufactures warranty if I don't have proof of purchase/ a serial number thats been actually sold? Julian said it was a good question so he's going to find out and call me back. Late in the afternoon he calls me to tell me that corporate said they actually can't return the glasses and they can't return the deductible. They had no solution for me. I asked why Luxottica bothered to comment here and request for me to go to their website, fill out their form with a bunch of questions, enter dates, receipt numbers and what not. I further asked if this is the first time Sunglass hut has ever dealt with this. Why would they put me through all of this if I left my story in the review, wrote it out again on their form they asked me to fill out and reexplained it to Julian. Julian said they just told him to figure out a solution for me. In the form it asks how I think this should be resolved. I wrote, refund the $120 that I was not informed about. They must have read that. He said he'd try again with a different angle. He calls me back and again tells me there isn't anything they can do. I asked, why put me through another form Luxottica? Why read my comment, request more information when it's all there, I rewrite it all, you tell Julian to call me to figure out a solution, and there's no solution? Is anyone reading these comments?
