Negatives - The wait times are definitely long. Not enough staff. I am a new customer to Verizon. I am in my second month of service and was double charged for a month of Netflix. I went into the store to get clarification and spoke with Kyle the store manager. He agreed that there was an overcharge and had to call their customer service number to get a credit. It was a simple under $20 charge but it felt like the customer service person on the phone kept needing an explanation. He came back an offered $15 and asked if I would settle for that. Of course not if I overpaid $19.50 I should be refunded $19.50. It felt very offensive ( Kyle was great ). Positive - I had walked out the door after waiting for a little bit and realizing they were quite busy, Kyle came out and got me and said I was up next and he could help me. He was not only able to help me, but also was able to help another lady that had been waiting to get a new phone, while he was holding on the phone line for customer service. He showed exceptional multi-tasking and customer service skills. I actually have found every employee I have encountered in my last 2 visits very polite and attentive in spite of being short-staffed. read more

Okay, to start with, this is for the real Verizon, not the authorized dealer. I was with Verizon until January when I decided to go with a cheaper provider. I canceled then and there, but because I was bundled with my friend, she became the primary account holder while my credit card was being used. I paid off everything on my end and contacted them. They assured me that my account was canceled. I had to call back again and again to get them to cancel and EVERY TIME they said they had canceled it. The last straw was just a few minutes ago when I called again. I found out they charged my cc for March, April and May payments. They said they couldn't do anything about it because I was not the primary on the account. As the secondary, Verizon won't deal with me. Only my old roommate. While I am still friends with her, she is not the most reliable person when it comes to making a phone call to Verizon that will probably last an hour or more. I was able to get them to cancel Autopay, which my card apparently is registered. I can't even count on that considering how many times I have called to cancel. So they're making me jump through hoops - contacting my friend to have her get information from them so I can file a dispute through my cc, then contacting my cc dispute center to have them file. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and Verizon is on my sh-- list now. I won't even go into getting my new phone from their authorized dealer last year and the thousands of dollars I had to spend to pay off the "free" tablet and smartwatch. I needed to turn in an old iPhone and get help with better internet. The employees were wonderful. Sure, it took awhile but I had lots of issues. I watched a manager with new trainee and he was patient and a good teacher. I' e had two bad experiences at the other Verizon/Vitra store in Grass Valley. I'll only go to this store. read more

I left this store disappointed. I received an email from Verizon saying I could upgrade my phone for free. I showed the email to the store rep who told me my phone was not eligible, and I had to read the fine print. I found this unlikely given they listed my model and phone numbers in the email. I went home, found out I was eligible for the upgrade and quickly completed the process online. If anyone at the store reads this, please consider it an opportunity for a second chance. I will return to your store again. I don't mind driving to the store and spending more time there because I want to support local businesses and prefer human interaction; but when I encounter a sales rep who is at best lazy and at worst deceitful, I am less likely to return. read more

I went into your store 13 September 2018 to buy a lightning cable. You had only one cable for sale....a pure.gear USB cable for $37.79. an outrageous price. Your sales person told me "this was the last lightning cable you will ever have to buy " as it had a lifetime warranty. OK so I put my money down. Well it broke guess what? There's no warranty unless you buy it from pure.gear on line. And the warranty only covers manufacturing defects and not wear and tear use. You guys lied to me to make the sale, do not patronize the store. And pure.gear is dishonest too. read more

Do not get Verizon service if you live outside of Oroville. Do not get it in Berry Creek do not get it in Thermalito do not get it in Bangor because you will not have service. They will tell you that you will have service but when you get home you will not have service. The only thing that they will try to do is sell you a Verizon hotspot and charge you more money on your monthly bill. Mia is a really nice person and a very good sales lady so you'll likely fall for her charm. Do not do that. Do not get their service unless you live inside of Oroville city limits. Or you will be very disappointed and left with nothing to do. There is not a cell phone carrier were you can get service in the hills of Butte County. read more

My daughter came in to replace a malfunctioning phone. Matt did a great job. Got very non biased and informative help selecting a phone. Due to the problems with her old phone, it was very challenging to get her photos and texts transferred, but he made it happen. Also got a very helpful explanation of warranty options. Never felt rushed. Would have been 5 stars but they had hardly any cases available even though we bought a popular phone. So I ordered a new phone off Verizon website and it was delivered to my house I took it to Victra and there was 2people there working a lady helping an older couple and a guy named Hunter who was helping another man. Hunter checked me in and said that there was about a 30 minute wait and I was fine with that. So an hour goes bye and I'm still waiting and then another hour goes by and Hunter comes to me and says I can start your data transfer and then you will have to go sit outside the store and wait for it to finish because he has to go home and the other lady that was there has to go to lunch so he has to close the store. I asked Hunter so if I wait outside and do my data transfer and it doesn't go through then what do I do and Hunter says I don't know probably come back tomorrow when we reopen or go somewhere else. So after waiting patiently for 2 hours now I was kicked out of the store. VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE AND RUDE KIDS WORKING HERE!!!! Had a very bad battery issue and needed a new phone immediately. I'm a current Verizon customer so I walked into this store to find help. Matt was very knowledgeable, helpful, polite, kind, and patient with my many questions. He explained all my options, gave me pros and cons of Android vs iPhones, and helped me pick the right phone for ME. After the choice was made he explained the various charges that I would see on my next bill and explained the available optional insurance. He even gave me a credit for my old phone, Wow! Most outstanding customer service we have ever experienced!!! Danielle was a gem! She is knowledgeable, friendly, and had A LOT of patience. We had a phone that I couldn't reset because of password issues and we also had a phone with technical issues. She was able to reset my phone within minutes and then update the phone with technical issues so that we could transfer everything over to the new phone. In the process we accidentally pushed the wrong button during the transfer that froze everything and she was so still kind and never got annoyed. Even though we prolonged the process she made the best of it. She was a delight and got us set up with everything we needed and out the door. She also made a couple edits to the account and all in all such a great experience. 10/10 would recommend this Verizon over any other location. read more

This is probably the best of the local Verizon stores in GV. I recently purchased 2 smart phones from this Verizon store (near Kmart). The sales staff Dean and Bryan were very helpful and Michelle the manager was great! They were helpful, but not over sales pitch-y and did not try to up sell me anything I didn't want. They assisted in setting up my phones and getting all my data switched over with no headaches for me. Best part is, if I have any questions I can go right into the store and get help from a real person! Buyer beware! In other words, I would never ever recommend this store to anyone. I have never had a sales rep openly lie to me and try to get me to purchase something under false pretenses--until my experience at this Verizon store. I have been a Verizon customer for over 15 years and went in to get a new phone. I ended up purchasing an Ellipsis tablet as it was promised as a promotion for only $1.00. As I was signing, I was told that there was a $10 monthly "roaming" fee required with the tablet. I was not interested in this service and I pointedly asked --twice-- if I could cancel it without obligation at any time in the future. I was assured I could. When I went into the store a few days later, I was told this tablet service was on a 2 year non-refundable contract! Luckily, I was within 2 weeks of purchasing the tablet and was able to return it. However, I was then charged a $75 restocking fee! This place is completely disreputable and seemingly makes a regular practice of cheating their customers. If there were a "zero star" rating option I would opt for that. read more

Stacia was fantastic in getting our Verizon Jetpack 4G Mi-Wi account to work. Moreover,we brought our laptop to the store and she helped confirm that it would connect with the cell site and then the internet. She is very knowledgeable about Verizon's products and service activation, and is kept quite busy. This retailer is rather busy for obvious reasons, but the wait is worth it. We had tried Best Buy in Auburn, but we discovered that they are clueless about Verizon's pre-paid account activation process and had wasted hours of our time. read more

I didn't get anything but excellent customer service and knowledgeable Tech Support when I went in here. I worked with John, Emily, and Corban over two days and all 3 are keepers. As far as I am concerned they are the all living legends. On a Sunday I watched while John effortlessly kept a dozen plates spinning, acknowledged everyone who came the door, and made sure people got checked in on the list so they could get help in the order they walked in. Stores were busy with new people coming in all the time, and the moment somebody walked in one of the workers took the ipad and checked them in so that they got a text when it's their turn. Everyone behind the counter was extremely friendly. I don't get the bad reviews at all. What else could they do, aside from having a soda fountain and an ice cream machine in there, I mean? read more

I went in to the store under the impression I'm dealing with Verizon directly. I only found out that it's a retailer when I looked at the bill at home and realized the sales person put a $9.99 charge on the bill (for phone activation, email & voice set up, device assurance plan, programming, data transfer). The sales person went through every single charge he put on accept this one, he deliberately didn't mention it. I called Verizon to find out why I'm being charged two times for phone activation to and the agent was totally surprised, there should not have been any additional charges. I also found out that if I went with Verizon directly the phone would have been free instead of paying over $150 for the phone and dealing with the rebate and ending up paying for the phone over $50 after the rebate. I went back to the store and questioned the charge. The sales person admitted it but refused to refund it. Chris, the manager's answer was "this charge is to: hand over the phone, set up voice mail and email and activate the sim card and they charge this fee because this is how they make their money", " "I took away time from their other sales". These were his exact words. I was speechless First of all, I believe that if I'm purchasing a phone plan with a two year contract they should take their time to hand me over the phone and take my credit card. Second from the whole list they only did a partial data transfer, so no service and a hidden charge that they put on unscrupulously. I filled a complaint with the corporate office at Verizon and I'm disputing the charge. read more

I had the best customer service experience ever at Verizon Wireless on McKnight in GV! I am an "older" woman, not particularly tech savvy, and have often found that young salespeople in the tech industry have a hard time slowing down the delivery of information and I can get overwhelmed, miss details and walk out frustrated. This recent experience was quite the opposite. My phone stopped working so I went in to replace it. Athena Wilcox was the Verizon Rep who helped me. She got me set up with a new phone, and we had a great conversation. I told her that I'm unable to get internet service where I live so she explained the jetpack to me. I am writing this from my house as the jetpack has me connected to the internet. We also talked about my land line and I now have a Verizon wireless home phone with more service at half the cost that I was paying AT&T. Athena's professionalism and level of personal service were outstanding. There was a lot of information to cover and she took the time to make sure I understood each step before we moved on. Her shift was over at 5:00, and rather than turn me over to another rep to continue the transaction she stayed until 5:30 to complete the service. Athena is knowledgeable, engaging and a good problem-solver. I give her the highest recommendation. read more

My wife and I just bought new iPhones and Jetpaks here. Daniel promised us that we would have super great Internet speed and that it wouldn't be throttled back after a certain amount of usage. I had heard that switching off our old, unlimited, good Verizon plan might do that. So I questioned Daniel extensively about that. "No, it won't do that. You'll always get great speed." "I wouldn't lie to you. If you think I've lied to you, then you can get your old plan back." Well, today I started receiving text messages from Verizon that they were going to throttle me back from 4G to 3G. At 4G, I was getting 5-18 Mbs. Immediately after I got the last text message from Verizon that I'd been throttled back to 3G, I was only getting .9 Mbs. The internet hardly works for me now. I'm working with Verizon directly now to try to rectify this problem. Ugh!!! Be very very careful when relying upon representations made here. read more

My husband and I went to this store to upgrade my husband's phone. We were helped by Taylor, who was a nice young man, but very much the sales rep. Well, my husband and I both upgraded our phones and with that you end up purchasing new folio cases (at $40 a pop) and new black ice guards ($50 each) that cover the screen, plus set up fees for both phones. Taylor told us he would throw in the car chargers (one for each of our vehicles) for free. We left the store happy with our new phones. Once I got home, I started to read over our very long sales receipt and discovered we were charged for the car chargers, each one $35.00, and they also were not the correct size to fit our new phones. We went back to the store, asked for Taylor and proceeded to show him the receipt with the charges that should have been free, and explained the chargers did not fit our phones anyway. He left the room with two of his co-workers, one I assume was probably his manager, to figure out what to do with this situation. He came back in, went over to a display and pulled off some new chargers with new cords. Taylor said we would just do a swap. I said "we are not getting our money back?", to which he replied "no, because the new chargers were worth more money than the original ones we had purchased." I asked again and the he kept coming back with a no. The new items were worth $90, $20 more than the $70 we were to receive for free, but we are still out $50 bucks! Victra Rip-Off. Worst Retail Store I've ever been to. I recommend to everyone, STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. I purchased a new iPhone 8+ for my wife's Birthday, paid for a PearGear screen protector & cover. They said they put the screen protector on & gave me the empty package. Unfortunately, my wife dropped the phone after the PearGear cover was failing apart after a month, which cracked the screen. After getting the run-around from Ian, the store manager, for two weeks, I took it to The Cell Repair Shop in Grass Valley and was informed that there is no screen protector on the phone. I went back to Ian and asked for an explanation and was told there was nothing further he could do for me. Unbelievable. My only recourse is to fix the phone at The Cell Phone Repair Shop and try to re-cover the costs through Small Claims Court. Needless to say, I won't be ever shopping there again and will do my best to make sure nobody else gets RIPPED-OFF by these people. read more
