I first went to the…read moreBest Buy Geek Squad in Lake Geneva, WI., seeing that I'm a Total Member (that costs me almost $200 per year) and the Geek Squad tech instructed me to order a specific fan from Amazon and when I got it to come back and they would install it. When I went back with my laptop and the new fan he went in the back to install it but 30 minutes later he came back out and told me that most of the screws that hold the fan in place were under the motherboard and they were not allowed to do anything that involved the motherboard. He then referred me to RK Electronics in Lake Geneva, WI because that was the place that they would always refer customers to contact when there were problems that they couldn't handle. That was about the best thing that came out of my first time experience with the Geek Squad. When I contacted RK Electronics (they have been serving the area since 1975) and spoke with the owner Bob, after telling him my problem he told that he could take care of it for me and we arranged for me to drop off my laptop at his drop off/pickup location. He also said that he could probably have it ready for me in a few days seeing that it was about to be the weekend so that meant that I would probably have my laptop back by Tuesday. On the Monday after the weekend Bob called me and told me that we had one very big problem. It turned out that the internal fan that the Technician from the Geek Squad said was the correct one that I needed and had me order didn't know what he was talking about because it was entirely the wrong fan for my computer (thankfully it only cost me $10). Bob told me that he could order the correct one for me at a very reasonable price but because of how far away it would have to come from it would probably take about 2-3 weeks to arrive at his shop. I told him that I needed my laptop so to go ahead and order it and that I would just have to wait longer than I originally thought. It turned out that Bob was able to use his connections with where he ordered it from and got it delivered to him in just 2 weeks instead of 3 weeks. Not only did he have my laptop computer ready for me to pickup in a lot faster time than I expected but I will admit that at first I was nervous about how much everything was going to cost me. Not only did he do an excellent job of repairing my laptop in a much quicker time than I expected after he received the correct internal fan, but he really shocked me when he told me that my cost counting the part and his labor was actually going to be less than $100. I have to admit that he was very friendly and professional, plus he regularly kept me updated every step of the way through the whole process. I highly recommend him and his company to anyone who is having any kind of issues with their PC and have already told some people that I know that have had computer problems in the past. Computer (HE DOES NOT WORK ON APPLE MAC COMPUTERS BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY ISSUES INVOLVED IN DEALING WITH APPLE AS FAR AS GETTING PARTS, ETC). Here are just some of the computer services that him and his company provide for customers. Computer/PC Repair Computer/PC Setup Virus/Spyware Removal Data Recovery Hardware Upgrades Hard Drive Cloning and Much More besides those services that I have listed here. BELIEVE ME IF YOU NEED ANYTHING INVOLVING YOUR PC COMPUTER NEEDING TO BE TAKEN CARE OF YOU DEFINITELY WON'T REGRET GOING TO HIM.

Living in the country is wonderful for many reasons, but one downside is that you most likely only…read morehave 2 choices for getting online; wireless and satellite. I've always been told by my very smart tech oriented friends that wireless is the better and more reliable choice. I'd kill for a fast internet connection delivered by a wire to my home, but in my area of the boonies, we have just a few choices in wireless internet service providers. A big company (Rise Broadband) and a small one (Open Air Wireless). I have used them both. Open Air is the better choice for one reason alone; top notch service. There will always be speed and signal problems with wireless internet because there are so many points where failures can occur. And the speed you've been promised WILL vary because there is just so much signal to be doled out to everyone along the way...you're going to get slower speeds at certain times when everyone is using their signal at the same time or playing online video games that use tons of band width. That's the nature of the beast. At some point you will need service either at your home or along the chain of towers that deliver the wireless signal to your home. When your signal gets slow or goes dead, you have to make the call to tech who will start to work out where the problem is. I have found that with Rise Broadband, the company is huge and there are various levels of tech support. Don't get me wrong, the folks at Rise tech support are wonderful, but if they can't fix the problem with a "reset" on their end, they can't just send someone out to fix you. They have to "elevate the case to the next level". It's nothing to them if you're completely out of a signal for a week or two. Meanwhile, I have to turn my phone into a hotspot and pay for precious cell data while they take their time going through the proper channels. This is not the case with Open Air Wireless. When you call in with a problem with your signal, you're most likely going to get Matt, the owner of the company who turns you into a top priority. He tells me when he will be able to respond and I have to give him (and his wife who works at the office when he is unable to directly respond) an A+ for courtesy and responsiveness. I can't expect them to stop what they're doing but they are very aware that it's a big deal and they will get to you quickly. It wasn't too long ago that my only choice out here in the country was dial-up. I'm very grateful that I have choices now and Open Air is my top pick.

I heard that they were doing some planned maintenance on the Volo water tower, and that they…read morepromised more consistent speeds and low latency, but my download speed still stays at a snail's pace 2 mbps, even though I buy the extreme package. I created an account just to write this review, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The owner Matt is rude to anyone who doesn't agree with him, and the internet overall is just flat out mediocre.
