Went to sign up for service on 2 iPhone 14 promax. Ended up being charged almost $1000 out the door after I asked the rep how much for both phones only and nothing else out the door. that was the price he gave me and I paid it only to find out he charged me for several $79.99 accessories I never got and my approval got me both phones for $300. I waited outside most of the time all I asked was for the phones and service nothing else. I read another review about how those sales reps con and charge extra things onto your account without your consent. when I figured it out Verizon said I'd get a full refund for everything I got charged for without consent and I've never received a penny just bills read more

Stopped in to ask about my options for trading in my phone for an upgrade. Julian greeted us as we walked in and was genuinely kind and helpful. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to go over my trade in options with me and even helped me calculate my potential monthly costs if I decided to upgrade. I really appreciate the high level of customer service Julian provided. I'm not sure if he was the manager of the store, but if Verizon was smart they'd promote him sooner than later. Well, I went in to this store in December to add on to my boyfriend's account - it's now almost March and I have had a nightmare of calls to customer service because of the massive bumblefuck that occurred when I went into this store. First, it took about 4 hours to get upgraded phones and add my name to my boyfriend's account. Then, the sales person gave me a JetPack - I had no idea what it was so I asked why he was giving it to me because I didn't understand what it did. He insisted it was free and that it wouldn't harm anyone to just take it because of the promotion. Turns out that was a lie. He also estimated what our monthly charge would be - he undershot that by $40. When I got my first bill - I was shocked! It was so high I immediately called and found out that the "free" JetPack had a $20 activation fee, $60 equipment fee and a monthly charge of $15. Thank God I signed up in December because that was the only reason they took that thing back - I still got stuck with the $20 activation fee for an item I never even took out of the box. Since then, it's been calling every month about this charge and that all traced back to this sales guy trying to get his numbers up. The service with Verizon is great - don't get me wrong. And I don't mind paying the monthly fee that isn't cheap to make sure the calls don't get dropped. But it ISN'T ok to bamboozle customers and foist products they not only didn't ask for but admittedly don't understand how to use!! Never dealing with this location again. I came all the way to this Verizon because it opened later than the others. When I got there, there was one person working in the store, and he was already helping someone else. Although he was helping someone set up a phone plan, he asked me what I needed help with, and answered my question pretty quickly. He didn't even try to make money off of me by selling me products. He told me the best fix to my problem and I was on my merry way. Before I left, a man, and then another couple had come in. I'm not sure why the worker was by himself because he really had his hands tied. However, he managed it like a pro! He was able to ask everyone what they needed help with while helping the first guy out. The only issue I have with this location is the parking. I mean, is there parking at all? I went there really late at night and was really lucky that my boyfriend dropped me off. He circled the block a few times before I came out. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to a Verizon store again, but if you're in the area and all the other Verizon stores are already closed, this one is a great choice! read more

They falsely charged me for accessories I did not approve and pocketed that money as well as my credit towards my new phone. DO NOT GO HERE! If you do and later regret it, don't say you weren't warned. I totally forgot that i meant to review this a while ago when i went here. Prior to going here, i didn't know there was a difference between a Verizon store and an authorized retailer. I'm fairly certain these people work on commission and the reason for their aggressive sales tactics. I went in last fall to buy a new phone. I waited for about 30 minutes to get assistance on getting a new phone. Once I was finally helped, I was the the receiving end on some fairly aggressive and arguably deceitful sales tactics. First off, the lady helping me kept pushing a "free tablet" on me. I told her I just wanted a new phone but she insisted I qualified for a free tablet. At the end of the day, I got a new phone for roughly $200 and while in the process she signed me up for a new tablet and turned off my stepmother's who is on the same family plan as myself. I ended up returning later on the day and told them I wanted a refund after reading the horror stories here. I gladly offered to pay whatever fee they had to assess (like $20 or so) to do the refund and while I shouldn't have had to pay anything, it was probably the best $20 I ever spent. I eventually went to a real Verizon store where the clerk told me he hears stories about these places all the time. I got my new phone from them for the $100 fee and I was out the door in 20 minutes. One last thing, while I was there a guy came in after me and was told to wait. He was very patient but I could sense he was stewing over something and holding back his anger. After a solid 30 minutes he essentially screamed at these people for a similar experience as mine. I should've ran out the door when that happened. Instead, it is a place where I was steamrolled into buying a phone that came with a tablet that I didn't want, and a wearable device that, 5 months later, I still do not have. Instead, I have called more times than I can count, have been condescended to, was told the difficulty was my fault. I can never speak to the person that made the order, since he is either out or too busy to speak to me, and no one else will help me because they don't have his information. I don't write reviews often, but only when it matter. If you are purchasing a device, please do yourself a favor and go to a Verizon corporate store. Authorized dealers, such as this one, have very different policies, including shorter return policies and higher restocking fees. For example, I bought an emergency phone from this store and was initially told I could return in 4 weeks. I come back in 16 days, was told that the return policy is 14 days. To their right, their policy does state 14 days even though I was told differently. There was no lee-way, even though phone was used for less than 4 hours and in perfect condition. Manager tried to be helpful, but I received no follow up on a request to see if their owner / independent Corp would accept the return. Finally got the follow up as not possible. Also not to mention, their restocking fee is $75 compared to Verizon corporate at $35. Also, if phone was bought at a Corporate store, I would have had 60 days to return the phone. I so far have started other Yelp reviews out of joy or rage, haven't finished either of them. Well, let me just say now this quick starter review will be out of the latter. Very relieved Downtown finally has a store; extremely irritated and disappointed at how useless it was. There is literally one employee, sans nametag, at least when I went tonight. I wouldn't say he was mean, but he was extremely unhelpful. Whether that was out of the spirit of IDGAF, whether he was untrained and therefore it's not fully his fault, or whether he was instructed to be unhelpful in solving a phone problem to force you to buy something, I am not sure. I'm too pissed off to even fully go into this review, but I'll agree with the poster who said he flat out refused to tell me where other stores were, told me that they'd just "tell me the same thing" (no dude, I've been to your chain before and while generally not a joyous experience, the employees at least pretend to try a few things to help you out), that I could look up the location of other stores online, and to solve my techincal phone problem, I could call 611... which, obviously, I knew. Dear Sir: If I had wanted to go that route at first, I wouldn't have wasted thirty minutes of my time going into a store, describing my problem, have you take out the battery and not try to do anything, and then wait around awkwardly while you look in my account for fifteen minutes, only to tell me how to buy a new phone... which you knew I was not there for. I'd rage more but I have things to do for work, as well as an I'm sure to be unsatisfactory customer service/troubleshooting call to make, to Verizon's 611. Can Yelp please add not a star, but some sort of emoticon that conveys annoyed-ness, and/or rage? Like Natalie Portman's face in "Black Swan," once her eyes go red and she is officially not the one. Do not buy a phone here. I have Verizon and I dropped my phone so I went in to look at new ones during lunch. The first issue was that there was one guy working and 4 of us waiting. At one point, I heard him make a call to another employee asking when they were coming in. So they were understaffed, whatever, not a big deal. The main reason you should not buy a phone here is because they are more expensive. He quoted me all of these prices where I would be paying $300 and then I could receive a $50 mail in rebate. I decided to pass and when I came back to work, I looked up prices online. They were all at least $100 cheaper. Thinking that it might be just an online special, I drove over to the Verizon store on Wilshire & Western after work. They had all of the online prices and I was able to get a phone for way cheaper and without dealing with the mail in rebate. I'm not sure this is an actual Verizon store or just a dealer. It'd surprise me a lot if it was an actual store. read more

The nice thing about this location is that it's walking distance from my office. And that's about where the postives end. The service here is horrible. You really feel like you're bothering the staff as soon as you walk in the door. Today I went for something pretty simple, a phone cover. Easy enough. I was told the price was $20. Okay, let's ring it up. The girl working takes it to the counter, but since the computer was being used by the one other employee on staff I had to just stand there while he finished helping another customer. Which I don't mind, but is there really not another computer available?? And no "It'll just be a second" or "sorry about the wait". Nothing. When the computer does become available, I'm told the case is actually $30. Neat. With the amount of time I waited I guess it's possible inflation occurred. I'm pretty sure I can a better product, with better service somewhere else. Or order online. At least I know my own computer is available, isn't rude....and will give me the acurate price. My mom, who is a casual cell phone user with basic knowledge with smartphones, was just recently lied to about her phone having a virus that was caused by Samsung, the maker of her phone! Ha! The store told her that there was nothing they can do to save her phone, "but today is the last day for their sale and can upgrade today!" 1. She's not the primary account holder. 2. Everything is under my name and ssn. 3. I have an agreement with Verizon to only allow changes and purchases through me. Correct me if I'm wrong, people can save their photos that have been scanned and saved into a cloud, with their contacts saved through Gmail itself, can easily be retrieved after you factory reset your phone. . read more

So, the positive is that this store never has a line, like other stores. I just needed to buy a phone and knew exactly what I wanted. It's true I usually only see 1 employee here, but this weekend, there were 2 employees. 1 lady who didn't know anything - I was guessing she was new, but the guy did know what he was doing. After he walked her through how to scan everything and charge me, he activated my phone with all the needed stuff. I was a pretty easy customer, but everything worked as it should. I went back to Verizon from sprint, but I was reminded of why I left in the 1st place. I paid off my cell to save as much per month as possible, and did not want a contract. However they misinformed me and told me for 1 $ more I get a tablet. I paid the $53 in taxes. Ok if you have had these things before I guess you know there is a line Access fee, I didn't. I did not want a 2 yr contract, or a tablet. I was trying to keep my plan as low as possible. They tried to BS me and did not want to refund me, after I told them the misled me. I had to go a 2nd time and Finally they were willing to do the refund once I told them I was going to report their misleading practices on social media. She was not pushy, but encouraged me to reach out with questions. I made an appointment for today, and just before my appointment Marilin had to manage a challenging customer. Marilin was SO patient and remained calm and kind. Bottom line is regardless of others' bad experiences, please give Marilin a try. Seems she is building a solid client base (others came in asking only for her!), and she gave me the facts. I am new to the brand, but I too have been deceived by other carriers. Note to all Verizon customers: Never, and I mean NEVER, go to a Verizon Premium Retailer. They don't actually know how to troubleshoot anything, are only driven by sales, and are not actually there to help you with any issues. I went here because my phone wouldn't connect to the network, they sold me a new sim card without blinking an eye ($29) which would have been free if I'd gone to a REAL Verizon store. When that didn't work, they automatically just wanted to steal the upgrade from another phone on my family plan to just have me upgrade (for $200). I said no. Thank God. Because the next day I called Verizon - they said they should never have just jumped to the sim card, that they should have walked me through how to restore the phone. Thankfully they credited my account for the sim card I bought that I didn't need. Further to this point, I find the approved signage of these locations to be incredibly deceitful. The average person thinks they are walking into an actual Verizon store. Given the mountain of differences between a Verizon Premium Retailer and an ACTUAL Verizon store, this is border-line false-advertising. Get better, Verizon. Get better. #FirstWorldProblems read more
