Experience: I didn't want to drive to the USPS by my house, so came to this spot, which is a couple minutes away from work, in hopes of dropping off a package and receipt. I got off, asked them if I could get a receipt, man said they don't do that but that I can leave the package in this white box with the other packages. I didn't feel comfortable and ended up driving to and actual USPS. I was annoyed, and wished I had called before going. I gave it a second chance on a separate day, I had three cards to send out. Very low cost and risk. Since it was so close to work, I just wanted to drop them off. I needed one stamp, so I went straight to the back, the woman was behind the counter. I told her I needed a stamp and to send three cards out. She got me my 68 cent stamp, and told me to put the cards through the slit. I'll find out early next week if they make it to their destination. If they make it, which I'm sure they will, it's a decent place to go to for low cost things. But I, as of now, wouldn't trust the place with expensive packaging. Service: Not friendly, not rude, just strictly business. Looked like a husband and wife run business. Parking: Located in a small shopping center. The two times I've gone in the afternoon around 3pm and have always gotten parking right in front of the store. Parking spots are almost all filled but it's a quick in and out type of environment. read more

Having been going here for watches for nearly 20 years. Convenient location. Helpful staff. Fair prices. They also handle cell phones and are a postal contract station with private mail boxes for rent. In just a few minutes they attached my new watch with big numbers to my existing band. To respond to your message. I went to the USPS store and asked for an exact quote with an address. So as far as prices should be concerned, there shouldn't have been a fluctuation. The second post office I went to gave me the same exact price. Second, there was no misperception on my end in regards to customer service. The whole interaction really left a bad taste in my mouth. Regardless of whether it was lunchtime and there was an influx of mail, it doesn't allow you to treat customers poorly. In addition, I speak Korean fluently and I heard every rude and coarse thing being said. In the future, I really suggest watching how you're talking in front of customers. Review is for USPS Shipping Services ONLY: I have come in a few times to mail out packages and so far my visits have been rather pleasant. I don't think I've ever had to wait in line - I'm usually in an out (about 10 minutes when dropping off already sealed packages). When I didn't have an item boxed, the lady at the counter has gone out her way to find the best packing materials for the job (for a reasonable fee). She'll even pack the item(s) herself (if you don't know what your doing) and/or give you tips and tricks for minimizing damage when doing it yourself. I appreciate the thoughtful and friendly service. The shopping plaza has a dedicated parking lot for patrons but it's usually at capacity. I've always opted for my sanity and metered street parking which is plentiful and within the same block. read more

The worst. I wanted to support a local business and this shop is very close to my home. I brought in my daughter's watch to be adjusted. It was a brand new gift for Christmas. I came back a couple days later at the request of the owner. He had forgotten about the watch but set about to begin the adjustment. He pulled out the watch and said he could not make the adjustment and the band was broken. It was not broken when I gave him the brand new watch for a simple adjustment. And then he claimed I brought in a defective watch for adjustment or that my daughter tampered with it. Beyond disgusted with this dishonest shopkeeper. read more

Mr. Chae has been my go to watch battery guy for at least 10 years, always fair and has told me when issue is not the battery. He has adjusted / changed bands and other related service, always at reasonable prices. Few years ago he expanded to include a USPS sub-station, no post office lines. Also he is a UPS and FedEx locker, very convenient . During lunch hrs or when busy, the valet usually allows double parking. This place is unbelievable. I took my dad's watch into TIme Island to replace the battery. I was lured in by the sign outside that said battery replacement was $5. They looked at my dad's watch and said Omegas were $10. Hm, that's not what the sign said, but okay. After they replaced the battery, the owner brought back the watch and showed me that it wasn't working. He said the issue wasn't the battery, but there was probably a problem with the circuits or gears inside the watch. I asked how much it would be to fix and he estimated $120. Since it's not my watch, I told him I would talk to my dad and see what he wants to do. The owner said "Okay", and to my surprise, "That'll be $10." I'm sorry, WHAT?! Mister Time Island owner man, I understand you put in a new battery, but you JUST SAID it's not a battery problem! Why are you trying to charge me $10? Just take out the battery! I apologized for wasting his time and then I asked for him to take out the new battery. He said "Pay $10 now and when you bring back the watch for repair, I'll reduce the total bill by $10." I'm sorry, WHAT?! By this time, my jaw was on the floor and my inner Korean ajuma attitude was about to make an appearance, but I was able to stay cool and say in my calmest, yet sternest voice "Please take the battery out. I'm not going to pay for a battery when the battery is not the problem." The owner replied by saying nothing, staring at me for a good 5 seconds, then walking away to take the battery out. His wife then starts mumbling under her breath in Korean that I should have known better than to ask for a new battery if the battery wasn't the problem and you just don't come into watch shops to waste people's time (pun intended? I don't know). Um, last time I checked, I was Korean and I understood everything you just said, lady. Anyway, the owner returned with the watch and I left without another word. Any more interaction with these people and I would've snapped. ... and now for the kicker... A few days later, I took the watch to a jewelry store inside Western Discount Dept. Store (on Western and James M. Wood). I told the owner lady that I had taken the watch to another repair shop for a battery replacement, but was told there's a problem with the circuits. She took the watch to her husband so he could take a looksy. She came back to me five minutes later and said "There's no problem with the circuits. We just changed the battery. See? It's working." To top it off, she only charged me $7. Time Island is a joke. You can't go far with unethical practices and poor customer service like this. read more

I went to repair my $3,500 Watch. (To replace the broken glass) He told me he cut his finger during replace the glass but turned out a lie since I found out that he sent the watch to other place to fix. And most stupid thing they did is they ruined one of the button on my watch and watch wasn't working. So I complaint and the owner of the shop even using "F" words and told me to get out without any refund and they charged me for $80. It is place to stay away. I highly recommend Time Cellular in Koreatown. I recently bought a watch that needed to be sized. I drove around my Eastside 'hood and discovered that there is dearth of watch places in Hollywood. Oodles on the Westside, but hardly any east of La Brea. I was about to go to a shop that I found in the Yellow Pages in Little Armenia (a prospect I dreaded b/c it's so f*cking crowded there during the day), when from the corner of my eye I saw Time Cellular. To be honest, I had trepidations since my Korean peeps almost always bag on their countrymen when it comes to customer service, complaining that they're treated rudely - prolly because they don't speak their own Mother tongue. So what chance does a non-Korean have? But I said, "F*ck it," flipped a bitch, parked and went inside. The store was busy. They have a nice selection of watches and a huge array of cell phones. I walked to the counter and was approached by the amiable proprietor, and got nary a trace of insolence from him. I told him that I needed my watched sized. He called over a clerk, who in turn completed the job in a short amount of time. I looked around and saw a little sign that said that tipping the valet parking guy outside is not necessary. Bonus! After I paid for the sizing, the manager (who I believe is the owner) smiled and said, "Come again." To quote the great P.I. liiberator Gen. Douglas MacArthur "I shall return" to Time Cellular in the future - for their exemplary service (watch repair, new batteries, etc.) and maybe even to buy something. Four stars! For surfing, I bought a water resistant watch here at a great discount and a day later I noticed that the analog time was lagging behind the digital time. I gave it a few days and realized that this was definitely a factory defect. I brought it back and the owner exchanged it with no problems, no attitude, no grief. Although parking really sucks at peak hours because of all the restaurants inside the same plaza; I love this place. It can get busy at times but I see the reason why. The service is exceptional and the owner knows what he is doing. This is a one stop shop- mail delivery (i.e., Mailboxes, UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc.), watch repair and sales, and local all-in-one cellphone distributor. I've been going to Time Island for all my cell phone needs and haven't had the need to find another place. He knows what he is doing and definitely gives the best service in Los Angeles. The first time I came to this store was to get a sim card and unlock my Iphone a couple years ago. They gave me great service at the time so when I needed my batteries replaced for my watch I remembered to go there. Now I've had 3 watch batteries replaced as well as my $4,000 watch fixed by the owner. I thought it was the battery on my expensive watch but the owner opened it up and showed me the circuit was broken. He fixed it in a timely manner and didn't go over the original quote he gave me. I also decided to buy a watch from him because he was so nice. I love my new watch especially since he gave me a discount! The owner and his son have always been courteous to me and my husband. My husband will not tolerate bad service nor incompetent people. He's let me know several times that when he had to go to the shop that the owner had been so nice to him. He's also given my husband a free battery. Who does that now a days! I WOULD RECOMMEND this shop to everybody. The girl who wrote a bad review below is unbelievable. Don't trust the lady here to replace your watch battery. She messed up the screws of my watch and she just kept at it until the groove of the screws were completely washed out and told me she can't do anything about it. I had to take to Mr.Rhee's watch repair to get it fixed. Thank god he was able to. read more

Just got the crystal replaced on a 1952 Bulova watch, which another very nearby and highly rated watch repair shop (which I will not name) hardly looked at before sending me on my way. It's fixed, looks great, Harry was very nice, done for the very fair price I was quoted, and in the time frame he estimated. Also bought a few stamps while I was there. A++++ service. Yah Right, Mr. Harry, I bought the watch from ebay and it's really no brainer for me not to return the watch if it is defective as they have a return policy and it's gonna be much easier for me. The watch is in mint condition together with the box and certificate and had been used a couple times, the seller has been selling on ebay for a long time and has a 100 percent positive ratings no negative feedbacks or reviews unlike you and your poor customer service. You know to yourself that you broke the watch and I'm not the only victim. Try to look up for all the reviews here of the people he was trying to rip off. He was saying to me that he is going to disassemble the watch to fix the stem and the crown and it's gonna cost 150 dollars to do that but he's just charging me an additional 30 dollars. WOW! really? that's a 120 dollar savings. When I picked up the watch the next day, he said there is no guarantee, as he never opened the parts of the watch so I said I thought you need to disassemble the watch to fix it so clearly you opened the watch? he said with aaahhhh eehhh, I did not, there is no problem with the crown and stem it was the pin for the hands, now he really admitted that there is no problem with the crown and stem and he still charge me extra 20 even though he said the extra charge will be for the disassembling of the watch, just to end this nightmare, I just paid 70 bucks in total. Obviously when he change the face of the watch he was not able to put it back properly, he doesn't know what he's doing and even have the guts to disassemble the watch wherein for simple change face he's dumb? One of the reviews here saying that Mr. Harry will accept the job and bring the watch to a real watch maker. I agree to that as he was asking for 5 more days to fix everything. Now we all know for a fact that he is not really a watch maker but just a greedy businessman trying to rip off people. read more
