I use Verizon fios tv and twice already the set boxes went out and the tv service stopped my brother who is the primary on the account calls and spends hours with the tech who says do this and that. and yet today it happened again. Verizon on union turnpike: John continues to help my sister and I with the billing of our phones we recently got in March. Since then, every bill has been abnormally high and incorrect. The customer service lines are not helpful and always make it the customers problem. This used to be the location I went to before it was possible to do many things like change plans and upgrade phones online. Last week, my mother's phone stopped working out of the blue. My first thought was to come to an official Verizon Wireless location - however, they were no help. They didn't even touch the phone, just said there was nothing they could do. When I asked what are our options, they looked at my plan and said the cheapest phone they had was $700, or else I can go to Best Buy and check there. I also asked if we can hook up any of our other phones to her line in the mean time, they said no, because none of them are on the 5G network. So we basically left with no idea what to do. On a whim we stopped at a local Verizon-Authorized retailer on our way home - the guy looked at my plan and saw we had a promotion towards a new phone, which we promptly took advantage of and walked out with a great new Samsung. It felt good that someone was able to help us after such a disappointing experience at the official Verizon store. read more

Stores like this make me thankful for being with AT&T. First off, there is no signage anywhere. As in, no phone labels, no specs, no listing of promos...nothing. I went in with my wife who was looking to upgrade phones and were told there'd be a 20-minute wait. The problem is, with nothing to read/research ahead of time, not only will you get bored out of your wits waiting, but you're uselessly wasting your initial time with an associate trying to figure out which phone is the best fit before jumping into the nuts and bolts of the contract/numbers/etc. This is inefficient and best, but really inexplicable and incomprehensible are better ways to describe this setup. Next off, the employees - each and EVERY ONE of them - go out of their way to let you know they couldn't give two ***** about you. Snarky remarks, curt answers, and condescending tones are par for the course in this Manhasset location. When I asked a Verizon rep where all the information (that should be in the store) is, he just barked at me to go on Verizon.com and look everything up there. My gut instinct is that Verizon will be phasing out their retail stores. Rather than disappoint a bunch of employees by catching them off guard, instead, let's make the stores as humanly aggravating as possible so people just stop going in and do their shopping online instead. I was told my new phone would be shipped to me in 3 days. The rep lied. The phone is actually on back order and will take 2 weeks to be shipped. They get a commission on signing you up for plans and sales. They don't tell you that when you upgrade phones the Hulu subscription they offer as part of the Disney bundle comes with advertisements. You have to watch commercials with their subscription. No transparency there! The manger sold my wife the wrong cell phone case. She also said she should issue a printed receipt for the accessory. She never issued the receipt! This place is untrustworthy! Don't do business with them! They have lost my respect and future business. read more

Being that I'm getting the latest devices coming within 3-5 business days he explained to me all the pros on the newer device. Politeness and all smiles. This is the place to go for HONESTY!!! The black gentleman was so great. Sorry I forgot his name. My phone had some issue which was covered under warranty. I had gone to the Verizon store on Bell blvd prior, and Lenny had totally tried to scam me by saying it wasn't covered and tried to sell me another phone. It seemed sketchy to me, so I decided to try this location. The gentleman here helped me not only confirm that my phone's issue was covered, but also told me how to file a claim with Verizon for a replacement, which was super helpful. He totally didn't have to do that as he wasn't making a sale, but he did. If it weren't for him I'd have been scammed by Lenny. THANK YOU SIR!!! It's a hit or miss when I visit this location, but since we had such exceptional service on my last go, I thought I would take the opportunity to shout it out. We went in to discuss new data options for our family plan as the one we had was no longer covering our needs (and no longer available!) We updated to the next tier, and our associate didn't try to sell us the unlimited as we weren't sure we needed that much and wanted to feel out how we did on the data plan we chose. I can't remember her name (it started with a K) and I'm embarassed to say I don't remember because she was wonderful, wrote things out on an easy to understand paper and went through things as many times as we needed. Also, she explained that we could buy out our phones, rather than those pesky montholy installment payments the companies have chosen to do. Came here and needed to help my grandpa and uncle with their phones... Nicolas was our associate was exceptional! While he was setting up the phones because these things take forever my grandfather was getting warm and nearly fell over i lucky grabbed him and he quicky ran and got us a chair for him and some cold water. Standing for long periods and being 82 that does and can happen. The store was warm and because he kept his hat and jacket on body temperature does rise.. Dont worry all grandpa is fine! The people here are really nice and efficient, but when it comes down to it, what you need at a Verizon store is technical help. I went here today for a problem I was having on my phone, and the guy couldn't fix it and said my only solution would be to do a hard reset. Good thing I didn't listen to him and went home, where my brother, who's never worked at Verizon, fixed the problem in 20 minutes. Second visit this week and this time, not bad at all. This time store wasn't too crowded, a staffer took names and there were chairs until I was called. I had an iPad but there's no WiFi for Verizon customers here! Once my name was called after 10 minutes, Matthew handled everything just fine. They couldn't be anymore helpful. Stopped by this afternoon following a day of shopping at Americana. My iPhone has been giving me issues and I was toying with the idea of switching from AT&T. Everyone says Verizon is the best and the people at this store sure exceeded my expectations. The rep Karl that helped me first troubleshooted my current AT&T iPhone so I could back it up properly. They actually had the iPhone 8 plus in stock unlike any other store I've visited. The process was smooth and I was out with my new phone in a half hour! I went to the Verizon store in New York City and they were suggesting for me to purchase a new phone, charge $25 to transfer my information over, and an extra fee to overnight it. When I went to the Verizon store in Manhasset, this customer service Nick was able to help me out free of charge. He even overnighted my phone and set it up for me free of charge. I'm not the type of person to flame businesses, but my experience there has been based off of three visits, each of which was not enjoyable. To sum it up: extremely poor service and unprofessional. If you know anything about smartphones or service updates, don't go here! Most of the agents here (except for Chris) don't know what they're talking about. When I first went to the store to purchase my Motorola Droid, it took a solid hour because my agent couldn't figure out how to enter the phone into the system, and had a small fight with the agent next to him over how to enter it into the computer. The second time I went to the store, it was to pick up a case that I had purchased there last time (the store didn't have it, and had to order it). When I got there, my mother showed an Asian sales agent my receipt, and he refused to get the product because the previous agent hadn't "marked it" correctly (i.e. he hadn't marked, "Not picked up"). I was at a loss for words. The Asian agent continued to harass my mother, saying that he couldn't let people rip off the store and take things. His comments were extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Eventually, one of the agents who had seen us a few weeks ago remembered us, and we got the phone case. But the way that Asian sales representative treated my mother (accusing her of trying to steal from the store) was extremely rude, and made us angry enough not to go to the store again. I recently went there a third time, a few months after the second incident, and again I was met with incompetence and disrespect. I was "assisted" by Joel. I told him that my Droid had not yet received the 2.1 software update (it had been 2 months since the software was first pushed, and I was concerned), and that I wanted to know if there was something wrong with my phone. He asked me if I wanted a new phone (implying that I had come into the store to "milk" the warranty and get a new Droid), and then asked me why I needed the software update. I was at a loss for words. I had never felt so insulted or misunderstood by a customer service representative before. He clearly did not understand - I'm a tech savvy individual who purchased an Android phone, and one of the benefits of being the owner of a top-of-the-line Android phone is that Google continuously tries to improve on the software by routinely pushing updates. I had not come into the store, looking to cheat Verizon and get a new phone (which I did end up doing, because there was a problem with my phone's software - it didn't recognize the new system update) - I was genuinely upset that my phone had twice received the software update message, and nothing had happened. When I tried to explain to Joel why the software update was important (improved battery life, additional features like 3D wallpapers, and a weather widget), he told me that "improved battery life" was a lie - "it could mean 5 minutes more battery life" were his exact words. Again, I have never met a customer service agent so unwilling to help a customer before in my life. I was galled. Thankfully, another agent named Chris (who actually knew smartphones) came and assisted me, testing the phone. In the meanwhile, Joel was speaking with his friend about his limited vacation days and his plans to visit Jamaica. So if you know anything about smartphones, I highly recommend you don't visit this store if you don't have to. If you have a problem, be ready to fight an uphill battle to get "help". read more

I was extremely turned off as soon as I walked in. The associates were talking to each other and did not approach me at all. Then I approach one of the associates and said" I am looking for a Samsung J3 phone case and the lady said oh another associate will help you. The associate just pointed with the finger and its over there. I was confused because the guy told me its over there. They were so lazy to not bother even walking towards the phone screen. Then he finally walked over its over here and pointed me to the phone. When I asked specifically for a phone case. Then I told him I was looking for a phone screen. He said oh it is downstairs and walked away. The other two associates were busy watching the new Jurassic park movie and making jokes. The associates finally come after 10 minutes and I asked another associate for a phone screen for galaxy s7 edge. He founded and said "Oh I have to get it downstairs for you" That's when it clicked to me that the other associate had to go downstairs to get it. When the associate gave me the screen protector, the other associate came with bunch of j3. He did not ask any questions nor did he gave any recommendation. Only answered questions we had. I already had a plastic screen protector and he said they only carried the glass screen case. I ask if this will be better than plastic.Because my experience with tempered glass one is that you have to firmly press in certain aspects of the screen or it won't register. But the associate said yeah it is better. Okay I took his advice and I asked him to put it in for me. He said he does not do it and he gave it to other associate. But after 10 minutes, he just took on the screen without any attention to detail and within a day my tempered glass screen got cracked and I wasted 40+ dollars. I am never coming back here again. The service was so bad I actually laughed. I was there with my 90 year old mother getting her first smartphone. The rep helping us was fine. He went in the back to get the phone and we got up for a minute. When we went to sit back down some clown named Ricardo stood at the end of the table yelling at someone across the room. Right next to us. When I asked him to please relocate he actually said these words "I WAS HERE FIRST" he told me I had to say please before he'd move. Unbelievable! It may just have been that I happened upon a bad store rep, but the service was horrible, and quite frankly, it didn't look like the management cared either. I walk in and and greeted, Great start. And then I say well we have a 5 line account and would like to upgrade 3 of the phones, and we really need phones today because 2 of the phones are beginning to malfunction and are past their warranty dates, can you look up our account? The Guy's like "yea, ok. . . " he does that, and then says, "Yea, you can upgrade" Me:"Ok. . . what can we get? Do you have promotions, anything new?" Guy: "Yea. . ." and points at the store in general. No OTHER COMMENT Me: "Well, LIKE I SAID, I'd like to upgrade my smart phone to it's newest version, can you tell me about some of the features?" Guy: "Well, it's JUST like your old one." You're kidding me right? I mean OK, you got me!! I really NEED to get a phone today, cause my current one is just about dead. But really? Did you think it was OK not to do your job and just to go "Yea, Yea" I had to ASK FOR EVERYTHING! He made no sales pitch and basically rolled his eyes at me and looked disinterested in helping me in any way shape or form, joked with his colleagues and ignored me as I stood right in front of him. **** PLEASE NOTE! that the only reason I came back to this store was because when I first opened an account IN THAT STORE 4 years ago. . . . the service was amazing!"**** Right now, it's just horrible, They even neglected to PRINT OUT the receipt for us! YES I know Verizon is doing away with paper receipts and just sending it via email, but if you don't give them an email address, they have to PRINT one out for you. We had to drive back and get it. - The Guy didn't even apologize, just went "Yea. . ." I can just say I will never ever go back to that store. read more

I don't know where the truth lies, but bottom line is there's a disconnect between Verizon Wireless website and its store in Manhasset. My perfectly serviceable iPhone 5 started having a problem. I look for a replacement on the Verizon Wireless website, which says I can get a certified refurbished iPhone SE for 99 cents with a 2 year contract, $20 activation fee, and the store in Manhasset has one to pick up. Salesclerk in Manhasset says store doesn't have refurbished phones and a new phone's activation fee is $40 with a contract. The salesperson doesn't know about the website's $20 offer. I challenge the salesperson, he runs to the manager, clearly upset at my perceived disrespect. Come on, grow up! To his credit, the manager explains that the new contract for the SE (I'm now on month to month) will mean an increase in the phone line cost from $15 to $40, meaning I'll be paying $25 a month more for the use of the 99 cent phone with a contract. Two year contract, you do the math. Story ends well. My broken iPhone 5 was fixed in Great Neck at ifixscreens.com for $85. Try that company before going to the Verizon store. read more

Was advised via 800# to return extra box at any corporate location. When I arrived at Manhasset Verizon location I was told to sign in and wait for my turn to give back extra box. After waiting for my turn I was told I had to go to another location to return equipment. Why did the associate who told me to sign in to return equipment not let me know that location didn't accept equipment returns. Why? You might want to try training your representatives a little bit better about your policies... Actually a lot better. Very disappointed with FiOS. Can wait for contract to expire so I can return to Cablevision. read more

Someone was able to make a purchase under my account, in store, with just my phone number without a single employee checking ID. When I contacted the store manager she told me she would look into this and get right back to me. It's now two weeks later and there has been no call. She was either aware of this an did nothing or just doesn't take fraud seriously. I'm disturbed by this and quite honestly disgusted that this could fall through the cracks.
