Came to this Verizon for the 1st time to upgrade my phone from the 8plus to the XS Max. I came in at 10 when they opened which maybe isn't a good time because it doesn't allow them enough time to warm up to their customers.... I'm not really sure. I get signed in with someone at the door and a blonde chick calls me over so she can help me. I could tell right away she seemed grumpy or just not stoked what so ever to be at work. She asked me what phone I wanted to upgrade to and went to the back to grab it. She came back with the phone and some cases and tired to sell me on those like expected. She wasn't pushy at all which was nice because I told her I had already ordered one and a screen cover on Amazon. The interaction felt really awkward to me. She practically said nothing at all and just set up the phone and told me the activation fee and took my card for payment..... I didn't get a receipt and she literally said nothing about the phone or the changes to my account. In the past they have always broke down the cost of the new phone and how it changes your plan and your monthly payment. She didn't go into anything about the phone or the price difference..... it was really weird. I feel like this would be required in your job to explain what you are selling to someone and talk them through the process. Before I came I had looked at the pricing on the Verizon website which is the only way I knew how much the new phone would cost me on my monthly bill. I asked her "isn't it about $10 more a month" and i got the response "yea somewhere around there"..... ok???? Thanks for actually looking or totaling it up for me when i was clearly asking for the price change difference. She spent more time in the back doing who knows what than actually out on the floor or explaining that I need to sit and wait for the update. During this time I was observing others working there who seemed happy and helpful to the customers they were assisting. She was so short with me and definitely lacked basic customer service skills. Guess I just got the crap employee of the day. I will say this Verizon is nice inside. Their display of phones and cases would definitely be helpful to someone shopping around. I'm not sure on the name of the employee who helped me. I did try to look at her name tag but it was turned around. The tablet she was using however did have a sticker that said Martha on it so maybe that was her name. All I know is I'm happy I won't be back to Verizon for another year. Work on customer service or just get rid of those who seem miserable in their job. read more

Drove 20 minutes here and was helped and greeted immediately and they totally resolved my issue. BEWARE..Horrible experience because of who I had to deal with when walking into the store. I feel for the employees having to work with this rude person who doesn't have customer service skills, lacks self control, dislikes people and his job! So much for manager, Chris File, who screens customers and decides IF you get help or not. The store manager, Chris File, is the rudest person I have ever met. He did not want to listen to why I was in the store, told me he didn't care what corporate told me and I had to resolve my problem by going online. He yelled at me and caused a scene when I tried to explain my reason for needing assistance. He obviously doesn't like people or his job. It is too bad you have to deal with him before getting assistance. Ultimately, Anten Jensen, helped me and resolved my problem within minutes. Let me start this review by saying I've been a loyal Verizon customer for over 20 years and have never had a problem once. I walked into this location on Alma School Rd in Mesa, AZ. to purchase an Apple Watch for my wife for Christmas. The gentleman (And I use that term extremely loosely) that helped me named "Israel" aka "Izzy" as his tablet was labeled was assigned to help me with my purchase. Long story short, I am not very familiar with these smartwatches and I did have a few questions regarding the Series 3 and Series 5 watches such as pricing, sizes, colors, etc. "Israel" had gone to the backroom twice to show me the Series 3 and Series 5 watches. Upon his second time returning with the Series 5 watch, I ask him about the available colors in the Series 5 and his response was "Look, i've already gone over the colors with you already. Do you want the watch or not?" Excuse me Izzy?!?! Who the hell do you think you're talking to pal?? My response was "Excuse me?? I'm the customer here pal, and no I no longer want the watch from you. WHERE IS YOUR MANAGER?" After Izzy points him out, I approach the manager Samuel Navarette and explain to him what had just happened with Israel. His response, "I'm sorry sir, would you like me to help you with the watch?" No Sammy, you and Izzy can take a hike! I ask Samuel for his business card and let him know I would be calling corporate to let them know of the situation. Now just to be clear, i'm not one to make a scene in public and get loud, I keep my composure very well. As I walk out of the store, passed the table me and Israel were previously at while Israel is collecting the watches from the table, he says under his breath, "Get the f__k out of the store." WOW!! AMAZED!! Never experienced nothing like that, especially in retail trying to purchase something!! Israel, you're in the wrong field dude!! I contacted my Verizon Loyalty department and I did file a complaint with corporate through them. Verizon please screen your employees better, and do not let your loyal customers have the same experience I did with this creature Israel aka "Izzy". Quick service and helpful employees that aren't about making a sale, but giving you all the information you need to make a decision. I met with Darryl, he was awesome. He knew what he was talking about, and helped us make our upgrade process easy and enjoyable. He was funny and helpful, but also clearly informed and professional. Give him a raise or something, he went above and beyond. read more

Unless you want incorrect bills attached to your social security number and affecting your credit score....Verizon used to be the best but they have gone so down hill in customer service and quality!! Stay away! I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 10 years!! Last year, I decided to upgrade phones and was talked into a new "more data, better plan"...what a mess!! Over a year later, countless hours, and money spent trying to deal with this issue. Vianna, the store manager, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP. After admitting that her employees messed up, creating a bill ATTACHED TO MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, then sending a bill that wasn't mine to collections, she offered no help. My credit has dropped over 70 points while trying to deal with this mess. THIS STORE AND COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. No one on the customer service line could/would help and everyone in person doesn't seem to care enough to help. This is my credit and my life that they have greatly affected. After working with the store director (Vianna)'s boss, Rosanna Rocca, the most she could offer me was to "clear the bill attached to my name and offer me a $20 credit." How insulting. I had ordered a phone this morning and scheduled it to be picked up today. It was ready this morning. I came at my lunch time at 1130 to pick it up. It was nice and quick. In and out. I'm kicking myself for not double checking. Like you would with take out. I get to work and checked it, and it was the wrong phone. Fine, I'll just go and get it switched should not be a big issue or long wait. Definitely a long wait, and definitely an issue. Obviously it was not checked that it was the right phone. Walked into the store a little before 3pm. I get help about 320, could be a bit sooner. I asked my helper what time was I checked in, he said 3:20. Are you kidding me!!! Definitely did not check in at 320. Barely left by 4. It wouldn't be such a big deal, if the store manager wasn't an ass. Sammy. Definitely not customer service friendly when you can clearly see the customer is upset. And all you say is "what phone did you get" .. not what I ordered. Then I ask Is there any way I can get it quickly, but Sammy .. said "someone will be right with you". Instead of saying "I apologize for the inconvenience, blah blah... nope that was not the case. Sammy needs to be more understanding and empathy goes a long way!!! I did not want to go back after work to get the correct phone when I should have gotten it when I came at lunch. I work in Mesa... but live in Maricopa!!!! So yeah I'm irritated that I now have to be in damn traffic. Usually takes me 45 minutes... now will take 1.5 hrs. Another customer said they were waiting for a long time saying " we need to go" and all Sammy could say "We Know!" .. wow.. Definitely did not make that customer feel any better or make them feel, understood that their time is precious. I'm an At&t customer and was possibly looking for a change . I went to At&t and then 2 verizon. At&t associate acted like he could care less what my needs were gave me some of the wall quote that was not what I was looking for. So went back to verizon and both times we were there everyone was so helpful friendly and answered all my questions. DUSTIN was our sales guy and took his time listened to me and helped me with what I was needing gave me a plan that I wanted explained everything . So frustrating to have to go in and wait, and wait and wait. You have a check in guy but of course all he can do is check you in and stand there. Why they don't hire more people makes no sense. Finally when I did get help it was from a very nice young man that did his best to calm me down, thankyou I needed that , and he told me they have a new app that you can set up an appointment ahead of time and they will be waiting for you. I had a horrible experience at this store because of Michael, a deceitful and/or Incompetent Sales associate. Bottom line: I asked a clear question, and was given a clear answer. The problem is the answer he gave me is different than Verizon's actual policy. I took his word for truth and ended up with something completely different than what I was told I was signing up for. I've stopped into this store 3 times in the past month. Visit #1: Added to the wait list by a greeter and told it would be about 10 minutes. After 30 min, asked a different person where I was in line and was told the wait should be about 10 more min. Another 15 min passed so I asked again and was told 4 people were ahead of me and it should be about 10 min. I left. Visit #2 was almost the exact same experience as the first. The difference this time is that at about the 30 min mark, I heard a pushy salesman trying to up-sell a young man by saying that if he didn't get the insurance plan and his phone broke, then the babysitter wouldn't be able to get a hold of him if something was wrong with his baby. His tone was morbid. I walked out. Almost didn't go back but tried one more time. On Visit #3 I waited only about 25 min for service. VERY nice guy named Michael (on loan from the AZ Mills store) helped me. He convinced me that I wanted the Motorola Maxx; said it came with 32Gb and I could add a 32Gb micro SD card, said the camera was great for action shots (for sporting events I attend) and that the sound & mic qualities were great (for when I'm in noisy areas). He also said that if I didn't like it, I could pay the $35 restocking fee and get the Samsung S5 (which is what I was originally considering). Don't know if he just didn't know the product, but what he sold me was a 16Gb phone with no micro SD slot , horrible auto focus and a ear speaker that distorts when the volume is turned up. I should know better to verify what he told me, but I didn't; I trusted him. Shame on me. I went back today to swap out the Maxx for the S5. It took several attempts with 2 managers assisting to get everything entered into their computer correctly. Training issue??? Once they resolved that, I was told that an additional $387 was due. This made no sense, since that's the purchase cost of the S5 Bundle. When I asked about the $185 credit from the Maxx, they simply said that they can't change the numbers, the price is the price. Ugh. We went around and around on the math... 1... I'm buying the S5 bundle w/a 2 year contract for $387 2... I'm returning the Maxx bundle w/a 2 year contract plus a couple extras for a $185 credit 3... I need to pay a $35 restocking fee for doing a return w/in the 14 day period 4... The math is $387 minus $185 plus $35. I should owe about $240 (give or take considering tax). One of the managers reappeared and said that the Maxx phone I bought was actually free. The $185 I paid was for the "bundled" accessories, which they won't let me return per policy. Why not, since none of them had been opened? It's just their policy, I was told, so I wasn't getting any credit. They were simply going to charge me for the new S5 bundle AND I still had to give back the Maxx and all accessories AND I had to pay the $35 restocking fee for them to take back those items. I was livid. After much discussion, I asked what they could do if I just wanted to go back to my old phone. Guess what? They could take back everything and I'd get the $185 credit. Seriously!?!??!! They can do that only if I go back to my old phone, but not if I want a more expensive phone? What a joke. In the end, that's what I decided to do. It took another painful 35 minutes for them to get the credit to "take". Again, several managers had to "help" with each person saying the prior person had "done it wrong". Bottom line, this store is a train wreck. The staff needs complete retraining. Michael from the AZ Mills store was either grossly misinformed or a complete liar. As an aside: Another customer near me appeared to be going through a similar situation - Not only was she was misled about products when upgrading two phones last week, she was also originally allowed to use two gift cards that were subsequently removed from her transaction (because they were "misapplied"??) leaving an additional $300 balance due. read more

This is the worst customer service experience I have ever recieved. I just spoke with the manager, Veronica for 5 minutes and had to walk out of the store before I completely lost it. She blamed me for ruining a charger that they originally sold to me saying was covered under warranty for 1 year, yet when it's broken they won't replace it, but can offer a discount. I canceled my plan two years ago cause i was so fed up with Verizons B.S and my boss made me switch back and omg this location has improved soooo much they went above and beyond to help me out and i LOVE my droid razor maxx its amazing and the sales girl Krista was so helpful. And i asked her to not worry about switching my contacts over cause i had 1000+ contacts and all of them were mostly copies and she somehow fixed it when the Val vista one couldnt and i didnt get to say thanks so much. Great service today. Popped in to get a new phone and the whole process took under 25 mins. Yosef and Leslie were very friendly and answered any and all questions. If I could give them less I would... The sales reps are rude and don't know what they are doing. The mangers are just as bad if not worse! Every Time we have to come here everything gets screwed up multiple times. If you are in a hurry they decide to take their time and waste yours. I really love this Verizon store. The wait times are usually pretty high, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 and some of their female employees are quite rude, but all the guys are really awesome and helpful. I had a really great experience today swapping out my broken phone charger for a new one. Two of their male employees were joking with each other and me while I had to wait, I feel like they made the wait time not that bad and made the whole experience fun and stress-free. I got my charger replaced with no problem and really felt appreciated as a customer. Keep up the good work!! read more

Ive been coming to this location as I've been with Verizon. On February 13th I came in for a new phone. The man who helped me was named Jacob. He was extremely kind, professional, and helpful. I paid around 200 dollars. With that, I upgraded 4 months early, got a case, InvisibleShield tempered glass screen protector, car charger, and fit bit watch. I was thrilled and super pleased with the service from Jacob. On February 22nd, after I got my phone, having not even dropped it, the ZAGG InvisibleShield screen protector cracked a little, and within hours the crack went from tiny to across the entire screen. I took it into Verizon that day, where I was assisted by a woman named Melissa. She walked up to me, disinterested and apathetic with a mouth full of what she said were "mints". Regardless of what was in her mouth, I felt it was unprofessional and rude to have a mouth full while greeting a customer. I explained my situation, told her that I did not drop the phone but that the screen protector randomly cracked. And was asking what my options were to replace it. Melissa told me that she couldn't find my proof of purchase anywhere in their system. I told her I spent 200 and assumed I must've got the protector for free because I figured 200 dollars was how much I usually pay just for the phone when I upgrade. I explained I got a few things with my purchase as some kind of bundle. I explained that Jacob (the man who helped me the first time) was standing right by their registers at the end. She walked away with out saying anything like "Please excuse me while I look into this", or "I'll be right back I'm going to check this out and see what's going on" just simply walked away. She walked up to a man who wasn't the person I pointed out, so I politely said, "Excuse me, but I just wanted to point out that the man who helped me is right there (pointed towards Jacob who was standing literally two feet away and I explained exactly what he looked like). Melissa replied "um I'm talking to my manager right now." So I went back to where I was standing, waited, and she came back and said there is no proof of purchase for my screen protector, even though they insisted that it was not free, and that I had to pay full price for the replacement or register it on their website for a warranty. I couldn't believe she basically told me "sorry. Can't help you. We can't find your 200 dollar transaction on our cool little tablets we walk around with." Now earlier that day I spent ten bucks buying a screen protector and asked her if she could put it on. She said no because of liability reasons. Whatever who cares but I asked to speak with the manager because I was so disappointed in how I was treated while I was there. The manager came up, His name is Nick, and I explained that I thought the woman who helped me was extremely rude and unprofessional. I explained my whole situation. After I told the manager Melissa had a mouthful of food while assisting, melissa corrected me saying "Um it's actually a mint so..." Then I told the manager that I was trying to point out Jacob so he could help us find proof of purchase. The manager responded "Yeah there's several people where you are pointing." (With attitude) I explained EXACTLY what Jacob looked like for clarification. The manager was just as unprofessional and rude as his employee. On February 25th I came back in to purchase a screen protector at full price (Which I should not have had to do.) I was greeted by Nick, he said someone would be with me shortly and then walked up to a woman who worked there are started talking to her for a while (I'm assuming he told her I was a crazy or annoying customer.) She walked up to me and greeted me. Her name was Michelle. She seemed preoccupied and disinterested as well. I explained my situation and asked her if she could look up my transaction, she said "If they looked and said they didn't find it, then it's not there. There's nothing we can do about it." When the time came to give me the screen protector I just bought, she said "do you want to put it on yourself or do you want me to do it?" I said I wanted her to put it on and she seemed very agitated as she responded "Okay well just so you know we are not professionals with this so don't hold us liable if it isn't perfectly straight." I said I trusted her. I was of course once again shocked to be treated with such disrespect in their tone and presentation. Jacob was a ridiculously awesome rep from this store! Unfortunately, I'm not sure I will want to come back to this location again. Melissa, Nick, and Michelle should not be working in customer service because they are extremely rude, unprofessional and careless. Set an appointment at the new location on Grove about a month ago as it was past time to upgrade from my iphone 4. Sales person was prompt and courteous, but I asked at least twice why I needed some speaker and charger, and still didn't really understand it, but he said I could return things. (Beware they only allow for a 14-day return.) Also, apparently I bought some cloud storage which he never explained was a monthly charge, not a one-time charge. I have the feeling the sales people are on some kind of commission or sales incentives, and I came home feeling they had gotten the better of me. I am continuously being pressured by their employees for diffferent services I don't need! I have been a customer of theirs for 10 years. I don't want to change plans and have even had a salesman get angry with me. Their new plan is to increase their revenue and make their numbers larger. Not to benefit the customer. I even took my numbers in to one of the sales people I dealth with. He still tried to convince me but after 15 minutes told me sheepishly that I was right. Also be careful about the insurance they sell you. 24 months of insurance would be 288.00 and in addition they have a large deductible and they don't have to replace your phone like your old phone. So like I sald "Be careful what you sign up for". After 3 days of new insurance, I have decided to drop the insurance and still have to pay the monthly amount. Not prorated or refunded. I have been a long time customer of Verizon and have done my fair share of advertising for your company, singing the praises of the better network. But today that has all changed. today was the worst customer experience I have ever received and as a result I am saying good bye to Verizon and switching to T-Mobile. I was on the purchase plan for a Motorola Droid Turbo 2, the initial device was faulty and I had no problem getting a replacement, the second "like new" device was sent over and within a month of receiving it went into an endless start up screen loop, I tried a factory reset to no avail and went into the store expecting the same level of service that I received previously but this was not the case. Obviously I was an upset customer, this is not only my personal device, but my work phone that I had been without for 3 days. During my visit the general manager was hostile, rude and unprofessional and as result has lost me as a customer as well as any referral business to Verizon. read more
