BEWARE of this verizon store! All rude scammer employees. There are many other similar reviews affirming my experience. i would not recommend anyone go here unless you want to be scammed! Employees will not even acknowledge you unless you are looking to buy a new phone so they can make commission. My experience: I came to this store with my mom because my phone was experiencing a glitch, after it died, it began to only charge to 1% and nothing further. After taking it to Best Buy who ran diagnostics, they informed me there was no damage to the phone and it was not my fault, but something in the internal system had just failed (basically a glitch) and it most likely wasn't recognizing the battery. My phone is barely 1 year old and has never had damage to it. So, my mom called verizon corporate and they said we could trade in this broken phone and they will provide a new one for free, all we had to do was bring my broken phone to a verizon store so they could call tech support and confirm the diagnosis themselves. This was all notated in our account. When we came into the store, the employee Ivan came up to help us. My mom explained the situation and all he asked was if we had a protection plan. We said no, and he said there was nothing he could do to help us. We were very confused and explained again how the agent we called at verizon corperate knew we did not have a protection plan either but insisted we could get a new phone. Ivan said he doesn't know why the agent would say that because if we didn't have protection there's nothing he could do. We asked him if he could just call tech support like the verizon corporate agent said they should do and he told us with an attitude there's no point in even calling tech support because i'm 100% not getting a new phone unless i buy a new one. he then refused to help us. My mom decided to call verizon corporate right there in the store and they let us use their telephone. of course, verizon corporate confirmed we could get a new phone, and since the store we were in was unhelpful, they would just ship the phone directly to our house in 2 days and we will ship the other one back. we were on the store's telephone for a good hour and a half and not once did a single employee check on us, come over to ask anything, or even offer us a chair. at one point while i was on the phone my mom went over to the manager to complain about the employee ivan, the manager didn't say much and afterwards, there was no other customers in the store, and all the employees, including the manager and ivan, were sitting down chilling, hanging out and laughing. again, not once did anybody ask if we needed help and the manager did not send ivan over to apologize for lying to us. Had we listened to him and not called corporate again, we would be stuck paying $1,000 for a new phone. He lied and said there was no way we could get a new phone and refused to help us, while verizon corporate sent us a new phone with express shipping for free because they actually care about the costumer. When we complained about the store to the agent on the phone from corperate, she confirmed that they were probably being unprofessional and unhelpful because we weren't looking to spend money and therefore they couldn't make commission off of us. we filed an official complaint with verizon corporate and i hope any higher up manager of the store would get in contact with me about this horrible rude experience. read more

The employees of this store are definitely not properly trained to deal with the hearing-impaired. The sign on the window states that they speak bi-lingual but obviously they are not helpful to customers with a hearing loss. Hearing Impairment is part of the Americans With Disabilities Act. So businesses, like this Verizon store, should be complying with ADA standards. Teach employees to write down questions and answers for the hearing-impaired customer, not get flustered nor start talking louder. read more

Just walked in asking if they had a deal on watches I saw on the app. Doesn't say it's online exclusive so I figured going inside the store was easier. I was approached by a woman who looked at the deal I showed her and just said it was an online deal. Didn't bother checking the system or even if my lines qualified for the deal. I reread the deal no where does it say online only. I went to another store and they sat me down and looked at the deal and my lines. read more

I just had a terrible experience with Verizon at this location. My daughters data hasn't been working for going on a week now. I went into the Verizon store hoping they would resolve it, and they did not. They were unprofessional by having their own personal conversations while we're in the store, and the gentleman assisting was pleasant, but the women who took over was rude and unwelcoming. Went to the location in Norridge and was pleasantly happy to have worked with Steven. He was very patient and helpful with getting my daughters phone signals working better again as well as showing me how to take Ada vantage of everything I was paying for since I was never informed of anything at another location where I signed up. If I could give zero stars I would. How hard is it to print out an itemized bill for a customer that has what type of device listed you are paying for??? They gave me such a hard time about it and it took longer than it should have. They kept trying to dance around the topic so they didn't have to look anything up. Then one person tried to tell me that the type of device is not listed on my bill. I am a customer, I have a right to have a print out of my bill to view my charges. It took 3 people here to comprehend that . If Verizon was more affordable for people, maybe they would not switch. Service was good, but I cannot justify spending $140.00/month for a cell phone. Ordered the phone through another store that said this store had it in stock. I paid for the phone and went to pick up the phone. The Norridge store would not release it to me saying their system said it wasn't ready to be released. They said if I had walked in to their location and had purchased the phone it would not have been a problem since they had the phone in stock. But since the system said they couldn't release it to me, there was nothing they could do until it was released in the system. I checked for a status the next day, and the phone was still not ready. I called Verizon support. They could see no reason why the phone would not be released in the system on their side. I cancelled the order. I'll order directly online next time and will steer clear of the Norridge location in the future. I'm guessing they didn't actually have the phone in stock or they handed off to another customer even though it was reserved for me. read more

Mixed review ! buying the phone was no problem. great service. I had to go back because for some reason my purchased APPS from the old phone didnt transfer over to the new phone. Everything else did. I tried for a while to figure it out but could not. I know it can be done but was traveling the next morning and had little time so I went back to the store for help. I get Mirela...she tells me the APPS dont transfer.. I have to download all my previously purchased APPS again at the APP store...basically one at a time taking forever. I tell her no, there's a way to do it but she insists no. She tells me to call Apple because its their problem not Verizon. I know shes wrong but the security guard is eyeing me. I leave and go home, call Verizon (should have done this to begin with) and Cammie has it fixed in about 90 seconds. Click the APP store APP, click the little circle up top, click "purchased" and every APP you ever purchased is listed and you just click each one and they go back on your phone. Too easy. I go back and lucky me... Mirela approaches. I gave her a very quick lesson on how to recover your APPS when you buy a new phone. It had to be embarrassing but she was nice about it...but the security gaurd is eyeing me again. Anyway TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE Verizon! As a customer I should not have to train them! I would still go back there...everyone else knew their stuff...but watch out for that guard. He had a "Cook County Sheriff" badge on and a 45. I've been a Verizon customer for many years and in that time have been to many of their locations. I like their one in Schaumburg the best and their one in Wheaton the least. Unfortunately this one also has to rate near the bottom. Yes, we know the salespeople in the stores work on a commission, but at this location they make it too obvious. Walk in there for the first time and their staff will be very helpful. Make a visit to get service on a product you already bought and their attitude is quite different. This location is the closest to where I live, but I'll NEVER go there anymore. I think that's all that needs to be said. read more

I went here to switch my services over to Verizon. I dealt with Mariana. She was great. The process was a huge pain-in-the-ass, but she went above and beyond to help me through it. Very patient and courteous throughout. She initially tried a sell (that's her job), but seeing that I really wasn't in the mood for nonsense - we just continued through the process. The worst Verizon store I have ever been to. I tell everyone that I know not to step foot in this store. The Milwaukee location in Niles is worth the extra 10-15 minute drive no matter what your cell phone emergency is. I had a problem with a particular model phone a couple years ago. Verizon had sent me 2 replacements of the same model and it was still not working. Before deciding to go with a different model, I stopped at the Norridge location for assistance. I told them about my situation and they told me that they could not help me. I then asked them to call customer service to see if their phone knowledge could possibly figure out the technical problem that was going on with the phone. They refused and told me to go home and call on my own. I then asked to speak with the manager, and he told me the same thing. No explanation, just absolute refusal to assist a 10+ year Verizon customer. I was in such shock that I almost cancelled my service with Verizon entirely. Thanks to some great customer service people on the phone and the Niles location employees, they have continued to serve my family's cell phone needs. My children and I continue to share an amazing Family Share Plan and now have 4 smart phones. read more

From time they start, no hello. Just yell at you saying everything is your fault. They refuse to look anything up and just say we can't help or do anything. So pathetic. The customer service at this location is pathetic. Before heading over, I contacted customer service over the phone to inquire about iPhone availability. They verified it was in stock at the Norridge location. As I walked in there were many representatives standing by the door however, all were hesitant to greet me. Which I can only presume was because none wanted to help. After a few moments of empty stares, a rep finally greets me and asks how he can help. I ask about the phone and am told it's not in stock. At this point, I am a bit puzzled. I go back to my vehicle and speak with customer service over the phone again, they continue to say it's in stock at that store and recommend I go back to inquire about it. I do so. At that point, I bring up the fact I was told by CS over the phone that it is in stock. The rep then continues to tell me that they do have it in stock but they can't sell it because of some backend issue. He did not follow up with an attempt to help order the phone or even an apology for the misunderstanding. I am disappointed at the miscommunication aspect of the situation, but I am most disappointed at the lack of customer service at this store. I've never had a bad experience here but did this past Saturday. When I asked if there was anything I could do to lower by bill, the woman there looked down her nose at me. This company has to realize that they are the most expensive carrier in the country and should treat their customers a little nicer. To add insult to injury, I've been a customer for ten years and they wanted to charge me a $35 upgrade fee after I've waited two full years to get a new phone. I would give them 0 starS if I could. 1 day old Samsung S9 phone. Note: 1 day old. Had problem connecting Android to my car with old S6. Car dealer worked on the S6 and my new car for 3 hours with no luck. Discovered it was an Android and Verizon setting. My son and I were able to fix problem. Now, same car but S9. They refused to even look at the settings even in the store. Told me the weren't certificated to work on connectivity problems. Could give me the number for tech help if I paid for a protection plan. I went into this location to upgrade one of the phones on my plan. I was quoted $300 for the new iPhone and as a result of my "purchase of an apple product" I was given a pair of Beats for "free". Then my rep also enrolled me on the Edge program so that I could upgrade sooner. Customer care indicates today that if you enroll for Edge, you don't pay for the phone - just the monthly charge for Edge. Hmmmm - what did I pay $300 for then?? You guessed it - my FREE Beats were the culprit of the $300 charge. SHADY SHADY SHADY business practice. Enrolling customers on the Edge program & misrepresenting the situation to swindle them into paying you commission on accessories. These people take advantage of the fact that you don't understand the ins & outs of their so called "promotions". Today's call to the manager, Miguel, confirmed that I did in fact pay ZERO for the phone but $300 for the headphones. And no - I can't return them since it's been over 14 days. If I were on fire and needed water to douse the flames, I still wouldn't walk back into this store. Do yourself a favor & go to literally ANYWHERE else. **UPDATE** took my complaint straight to Corporate. After they pulled the phone calls & listened to my interactions with customer service & the store manager, they apologized and informed me that I could take the product back for a full refund. My company issued new phones but didn't provide the accessories. I need a belt clip so I can wear my phone as I run around the plant, solving everyone's problems. So, I stopped by this store to get the clip and was pleasantly surprised. First a conscientious salesperson welcomed me and asked me to sign in on the touch screen. Then, they keep all the customers name in order so it is first come, first serve. Kinda like a deli, but way 2009. So, thankfully, I got helped a little faster since I was making a purchase vs. getting new service. I was in and out in 15 min. Plus, the greeter / sales guy even announced an apology to everyone waiting. Wow. I haven't seen good customer service like that in the 4 years I've lived in the city. Very professional establishment, given they were very busy. I would visit this store in the future should I need, say, a car charger, which my company also didn't provide! Went in for a new charger and screen protector for my iPad. I was told I had to check in and wait for help. They had remodeled the store and removed the wall where they used to keep all the chargers and other accessories, so I no longer could just grab them off the wall. So I checked in, thinking it would be quick. After 10 minutes of waiting to be called, I asked the lady who checked me in and she said it would be at least another 20 minutes! I'm not waiting at least 1/2 hour for a charger and screen protector. I left and went to Best Buy down the street. Was in and out in 3 minutes, and I got a discount from them! My husband and I purchased an iPad mini here. This was our first major purchase from apple, but the staff there was amazing. Sara and Leonard took the time to explain how it works and how we can use it. They even asked us to bring in our laptop in and showed us how to back up the photographs. I felt very comfortable with my experience. That store was very busy, no doubt in my mind it has something to do with how well the customers are treated there. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Needed quick service questions answered. It is hard to get Verizon's in general to help you out with your phone when you need it, especially if it doesn't behoove them. They were able to help me out with only part of my request here. I ended up just getting another phone overseas, because getting a phone unlocked to use was just too much of a pain. read more
