Just wanted to tell people who are thinking of signing up for Verizon... Be careful when the stores come and cheerfully tell you "since you're signing up for... here is a free gift". Don't take the free gift. Whatever it is. Don't take it. I recently opened an account with 4 lines and the store gave me a Hum as a "free gift". They made it sound like it was going to work via the cellphone connection I already have (iPhone). Lo and behold, I get my first bill and there is a strange number. Digging more, it's the line for Hum. With activation fee, $10 monthly charge on a 2 year contract. Called customer service, and was basically told that to cancel it I have to pay the early termination fee (around $150). I may go to the store and see if they will take it back, the device hasn't even been setup or taken out of the box. Come 2 year end, I'll think twice about continuing with Verizon. So I just left. I walk in and it's quiet, there's one other customer getting helped and three staff members are just looking at their tablets. I wanted to upgrade my phone. The SALESman says they are taking appointments only for upgrades, and the soonest appointment is Thursday. It's Monday. He suggests I go across the parking lot to Best Buy, one of their biggest competitors. He also suggested I order thru the Verizon app. Seems like a missed opportunity. read more

This store provided bad service. When I asked the manager to call me, he never called. When I called the manager, he said he would call me back and he didn't. They know how to high-pressure sell you, but they lie about the products and what they have or don't have. If you are a high-pressure, hard closer, ruthless commission salesperson, you might want to apply for a job here. Then, called the corporate office to try to get help, and just got a runaround. Went to another provider, got great service and a better deal. Now I'm happy. read more

The sales guy (because he's not a service tech - such an ass!) tells me after playing with the phone that the top portion of of the screen is dead. He then tells me if there's water damage there's a charge. Apple advertises the phone as waterproof! It's time to quit Verizon. The service in my area has gone to shit. read more

I went on 5/16/22 for the first time in like 5 years to the Porter Ranch Verizon store and I was greeted by Pricilla that Identified herself as the store manager with attitude for not having an appointment ( I had no clue that they see you by appointments only) I had gone to the Verizon Store at the Northridge Mall and they were so nice but unfortunately they did not have the flip phone that my 80 years old mother uses. She really did not want to help us at 7:30 P.M or anyone because the doors were locked around 7:45 P.M and they close at 8 P.M. After walking out to calm down because she was so rude. I asked a heavy set young Hispanic man to help me because I did not want her helping me. He was just as bad and she continue to say things to me to brush me off. I really think that Pricilla and that young man are very unhappy and do not want to work. All I wanted was to buy a new phone I even offer to pay cash or add a new line and they gave me every excuse in the world not to help me. It was urgent because my mother is old. Verizon needs to send someone undercover and check how rude and unprofessional they are and see why people get so upset at the services provided at the Porter Ranch location! I give it a half star or no star at all when you can't buy a phone at a phone store!! read more

I was in this store on Thursday night and the employee AND Manager (Jason Hill I believe was the manager) refused to sell me a phone. I wanted to pay full retail ($650) and they said they were saving them for customers who would make them more money by signing up for a 2-year agreement, even though I've had service with Verizon for over a decade. My satisfaction made no difference to the manager, he flat out refused to sell me the phone for the price advertised in-store, online, and in print ads. If that's not false advertisement I don't know what is. I've already left formal complaints with Verizon's corporate store (of course with the address of the branch and name of the manager), I am contacting Samsung now to let them know that Verizon refuses to sell their phones because the managers are trying to reach contract quotas, and I'm looking into contact federal, state or private agencies who would care to hear about cases of false advertisement, or possible discrimination. Take your business elsewhere, Sherman Oaks has a Verizon corporate store. read more

*update from the next morning* Someone from Verizon messaged me an apology (see photo). Many times this can go a long way, but in Verizon's case, it is LAUGHABLE. A store with an average rating of 1.5 stars can't possibly have a corporate office that cares that much (as evidenced by all of the negative reviews for this AND other locations). Nice try. I am sticking to AT&T where I've been a customer for 12 years without an issue, and my boyfriend will likely switch when his contract with Verizon is over. The MANAGER on duty right now is BEN. I don't know who gave him that title or what drugs they were doing when they did, but big mistake. My boyfriend and I went in tonight at 7.35pm, which is an hour and twenty five minutes before they close. The bf was just mailed a new phone via his insurance plan through Verizon, and all he wanted from this "service location" was for them to activate it. Well, there were 4 "workers" in the store, trying to accommodate 4-5 people (including us), but apparently "We don't have enough technicians to help you". There was plenty of time before the place closed and the other people who were there were already being helped, there wasn't a wait. This guy really should've considered a career path that wasn't customer service based. He had a terrible attitude and not to mention, terrible body odor. It's kind of a slap in the face to the suit he was wearing, not to have showered. Barney Stinson would be quite insulted. The point is, avoid this place like the plague. They say that there's no such thing as customer service any more and the employees at this Verizon store are certainly living up to that. The staff either only get paid on sales or have a very high quota. All they want to do is sell you something, anything. My phone wouldn't connect to the data network, and after troubleshooting with 2 phone reps they suggested I visit the store for a new SIM card. The guy in the store made no attempt to hide his disappointment when he realized I wasn't there to buy something - I think I actually heard the sound of his smile falling from his face and hitting the floor! The entire time he was trying all the same things the phone reps had already done to fix the phone he was giving me a sales pitch. Every "no thanks" from me was followed by another leading question about the services or devices he could give me a great deal on. At one point I even said to him "you're giving me your strongest sales lines but I'd like you to focus on fixing my phone" and he actually laughed. Undeterred, he continued trying to sell to me without missing a beat. Once he ran out of ideas to fix the phone (probably as soon as he realized I wasn't buying anything) he suggested I take it back to the Apple store to be replaced. And that's exactly what I did. I don't plan on returning to this store ever again if I can possibly avoid it. read more

Went here on a Sunday afternoon, which must have been my biggest mistake. There was a guy standing by the door, but I got no greeting. I walked around helplessly looking at the phones for 20 minutes before seeing the computer kiosks where you check in. After 15 more minutes of waiting, I left, with nary a second glance from aforementioned greeter man. ugh. I will order my phone online instead. I suggest you do the same. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. This place is awful. I was disappointed once before about a month prior to today's visit. I was there to make some changes to my account, and they told me that I would have to wait hour because I did not have an appointment and my issue was not related to sales. Store was empty except for one customer, and there were four associates standing around doing who know what. Until I said "Oh, then if I cancel my account then it would be a sales matter?", started complaining that one rep finally came and helped me. I used to work for verizon about 10 years ago, and I know that good customer service always leads to sales. I arrived at the store at 8:35 and I was turned down because they were going to close the store at 9........ Might I add it was relatively quiet with workers just aimlessly walking around. They are trained to UP SALE you. The 1st thing they do is look at your account to see it they can get you to sign a new 2 year contract and if you are able to get a new phone. It seems you have to threaten to leave before they come up with a solution to help. I did get my new phone without an extra cost or a new 2 year agreement, but I had to fight with them to get it. After making me wait for a good 45 minutes, I had to deal with a little twerp who was doing his best to come off as a "shark salesman." As a businessman who deals w/ successful businessmen on a daily basis, this kid was clueless and possessed no trait of a successful salesman. What does it take to get hired there these days? His futile attempt at selling me a particular phone made him belligerent. At this point, I was having a good time kicking him around and making a mental midget out of him. He still kept going on how I should buy that phone... the kid just doesn't go away. He must be used to people who play along with him, or who give into his "sales tactics." My strong suspicion is that once he realized that he had no shot at getting his way, he kept rambling on in an exercise in mental masturbation. Nothing else makes sense. Be ready to wait! All in all not satisfied at all with Verizon. They lock you in to a deal which you cant go back on and they don't explain all the information. Like when I combined my Verizon /Direct TV plan...they didn't give me the deal advertised because they said I talked to the Direct TV people first and not them. Huh? Vincent DeDios was my Solutions Specialist and he gave the best service I have ever received from this store. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. Verizon Wireless delivers the best quality cell service reach, which is why I have been loyal to them for over a decade. If all their reps were like Vincent, I would give the store five stars. My experience over all at every Verizon store has been a combination of great service and deals and long waits and reps that make me feel like I'm being "hustled" with complex and confusing offers. Part of this is a function itself of the wily telecommunications business as a whole and not necessarily the staff's. It is quite adept at squeezing every single penny out of consumers with confusing extra costs, rebates and "savings" in bundled deals. read more

We were inquiring on how long the wait would be for the next representative to assist us. He told us that he couldn't tell us how long it would be. We asked how many representatives were on the floor and how many people were ahead of us for the wait. His inappropriate tone and sigh with his response showed that his patience had already worn thin. To clarify things we restated the information that was given to us. His response was "is that what I said?!?". At that point, we were so displeased with the way were being treated. We decided to leave the store. We decided to cut our ties with this store and look for another location. read more

Worst customer service EVER! My husband and I went in to buy two products, and walked out. Only 3 sales people, all with customers, 4 people waiting. They don't acknowledge you when you walk in. We waited, walked around, still no acknowledgement. One sales person finished with his customer and left. But wait, 3 young girls walk in and get immediate acknowledgement. Sales person LEAVES his customers to sign them. We were there long before and they never even spoke to us, let alone sign us in so we received service in the order we arrived. read more

Moved to Verizon from Sprint. Coverage is fantastic, unfortunately I can't say the same about the reps. I added insurance on 3 lines I purchased or so I thought. My luck, my phone was stolen. The phone that was stolen didn't have insurance but the other two lines did, how strange. Trying to explain this to Verizon customer service is going no where. Verizon management says, it's my fault for not looking at my bill on a monthly basis versus having competent employees taking the order correctly. Just seems odd that I purchased insurance on 2 of 3 lines. Thanks for costing me a ton of extra money, hello to AT&T. Timothy, the Verizon Porter Ranch in-store manager, was a life and time saver in resusitating a DOA replacement I-phone 8 that had been delivered with a faulty SIM card and could not be activated. Great customer attitude, and solid technical acumen. He put a new SIM card into the phone and called Verizon for us, and within 20 minutes he was able to explain to the person on the other side of the Verizon phone...and convince her of the shipment/operation issue. Will come back to that Verizon store. read more

I have been a Verizon Wireless customer since 2004. I walked into the Verizon store after a full day at work to simply buy an iPhone case and inquire about my family's accessory discount. I found out that I'm not an account manager from the sales representative who was "helping" me. I proceeded to calmly brainstorm with him how I could become an account manager so that I could proceed with my case purchase. After him somewhat trying to explore options with me, I felt him get very defensive and unwilling to find a solution to this problem. So, I sat down on my new iPhone and logged into our family's my verizon account. I got to the webpage where account managers can be added and now, all I had to do was send my mother a verification code to complete the final process of adding myself to the account. But, then I realized I probably shouldn't buy a new iPhone 6 case from a store that has representatives who make me feel bad for finding a solution to a problem. So, I didn't complete the final step and I left to buy my case elsewhere. I have worked in customer service before. You do not treat customers like they are miniscule when they are willing to work with you to find a solution. On the contrary, customer service over the phone is great. This store is not an accurate representation of Verizon Wireless. Because of this experience and other negative experiences here, it is unlikely that my family and I will come back to this particular store. read more

I was happy with Verizon until yesterday when I went to get a warranty replacement for my phone. I walked in and was greeted and a few moments later Melissa approached me. At first it felt to me like she didn't want to help me. She took my information and said I was out of warranty, I explained I bought my phone in sep maybe aug she said that it was purchased before.... why would I purchase a phone in may and not activate it until aug or sep!?!? I told her to go by activation date .... a while later after the manager got involved and they made it seem like they did me a favor!!! I appreciate what they did but it was not a favor, I should be getting my phone soon... extremely dissapointed!!!
