Was looking to return a screen protector that I had opened and placed on my phone...the manufacturer was having a sale and had its protectors at half off. I bought three from Verizon and returned two of them in SF, but was unable to return the last one because I left it at home. I stopped by this store hoping I could take care of it, but the representative told me they don't take screen protectors as returns and that I should return to the store in sf to have them honor it. He stated his manager would not honor it. Today, I took additional unnecessary time from my schedule and visited a store in sf (different from the first). This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They're poison. I bought a phone, they have a SLick sales speech, I bought it. They're not much on disclosure, but read your receipt afterwards. It's impressive. $50 for a plastic case and twice the price the phone is really worth. Anyway, i got a nice phone, they activated it and told me the number would port over in 2-3 days. Never happened. I took the phone back the third day. They told me not to return it until the number ported over. Still never happened. At 12 days I took that phone back and returned it. A while later, I receive a notice from Verizon that they've assigned me a phone number. (???????) I take the notice into Verizons store on Lakeshore, they tell me they've "cancelled the account, and middle of next month, I'll receive a final bill" They told me to come in when they happened and they would credit the bill amount. I got the final bill A COLLECTION AGENCY NOTICE BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS SO FUCKED UP THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH. I call their customer service, they finally credit $117 of $147 and tell me I used "data and minutes" and owed them $30. Dear Verizon, you make me pay you $30 for service I didn't get? I' will stand outside of your store and hand out flyers to people to tell them what a piece of shit you are. I will make sure 7 hours are spent by your employyes having me harass them like you did me. FUCK YOU read more

Ridiculous line. Too hard to spend money. Seemingly lazy staff. I don't know if its a new trend or not, but this Verizon location has some of the most ridiculous customer service I have ever seen. When you walk in, you have to sign into a computer. Even if no one is in line in front of you, even if an employee is ready to help you out. When I was there, an older couple came in for help. but had to be guided through the sign in process. After they sat around waiting for 20+ minutes, they gave up and left. I didn't blame them. During that 20 minutes, it seemed like one guy's only job was to make sure people signed in. At another point while I was waiting, a customer came in that just wanted to buy a charger real quick. Apparently, it's not that simple anymore. She was asked to sign into the computer kiosk and wait. Even though there was employees there seeming to be doing nothing. The customer refused incredulously, and walked out. Again, I couldn't blame her. When it was finally my turn, for some reason the guy who's job it was to sign people in decided to help me. He didn't really seem to listen to my phone problems, and instead just went through checking my phone out on his own. Eventually I was told my warranty replacement would go through, and I would receive a new phone in the mail in a few days. I was glad to be done and on my way. I will never come into this Verizon store again if I can help it. read more

I'm not entirely sure of who I spoke with, but I cannot express enough gratitude to the gentleman who called from this location to tell me that someone had found my lost iPhone and turned it in. The person working from this location got in contact with me (from the # on the sim card), verified I was the owner and the primary on the account, and overnighted it to my office to return it to me. If that's not great customer service, I don't know what is. If you're the manager of this store, please find out who the employee was and share my sincerest gratitude. Tip: If you travel to this location, which I would recommend, use the TJ's parking lot. Parking can be difficult. I spoke with Solutions Specialist Patrick G., and General Manager Jessica L., both of whom were exceptionally warm and accommodating. I knew what I came in to do, and these two helped me lower my monthly bill by adding an employer's discount I didn't know I had - despite obstacles that might have thrown off many others. AND - I left with the phone I wanted. Charges were very clearly dictated to me, and I left with a comprehensive summary of changes I made. I left with both their phone numbers should I have any questions in the future. Overall, a truly delightful experience. I've had the Verizon service for as long as I've owned a cellphone. I bought my iPhone here 2 months ago. After holding out for so long without the internet on my phone, I'm definitely a convert. While I received fast service when buying my phone, initially the charges weren't properly explained in my opinion and a couple things were tacked on in my excitement to receive the phone. Looking over my bill a couple days later, I realized these charges I hadn't really planned on were there. Two of these stars are for the awesome Victoria who helped correct charges that were not initially properly explained to me. If you have to work with anyone at this store, I highly recommend working with Victoria. She is patient, incredibly helpful and knows how to deal with a crazy customer or two. Another star for the crazy good service I get with Verizon. I rarely have a problem with signal and if you negotiate into a family plan with your (crazy) family, you can actually get a decent deal. read more

After having been to several Verizon stores that I could not simply wait to get out of, I'm glad to say that the one that I live near has provided me with the most pleasant experience I've had at a cell phone service location. We were helped by Stephen, who was very kind to both my fiance and I. I was also very appreciative that he did not try to power sell us on things we didn't need. That would have been the fastest way to lose our business. Although the transaction took a while (I was upgrading my phone and changing my plan to a family plan, allowing for my fiance to leave AT&T), we were still pleased with the service and outcome of the entire situation. The store overall was virtually empty, save for a few customers and we were seen right away by someone to address our concerns. I'm glad that this store is so close to our home, because now I won't have to go to one of the many other horrible Verizon locations. read more

Smiles at the door, someone usually there to get you started with help when you walk thru the doors. I went in to contact a representative for my prepay account, which is ONLY possible by having a local store representative connect you with their landline phones. 45 minutes on the phone with people who were probably underpaid and overworked, my problem was resolved. You definitely don't get the same quality service at a store as you would online or on the phone! I always try to avoid going to the store just because you end up waiting forever and the "solution specialists" don't have the happiest of faces. If you haven't been there before, you'll definitely be confused because there are no directions or greetings when you walk in. I saw people being helped at the desk so I made eye contact with a specialist and 10 mins later someone came to check me in. People come in and out without being greeted or checked in so a lot just end up walking out. Ouch...! This place could definitely use more chairs. There's only 3 seats in the back as you wait but there's A LOT OF EMPTY SPACE in the store. It could be used to have seats for customers who wait. I saw some people sitting on the floor. I signed up for one line with Verizon over the phone and was bringing my own device over. I needed a SIM card and selected Lakeshore as my pickup location. I called the store ahead and a gentleman by the name of Giovanni picked up and told me to ask for him when I got there. I walked in and mentioned Giovanni's name. He immediately walked over, remembered that I needed a SIM card, and went to the back to get me one. He also installed it for me and helped get my number ported over from AT&T Prepaid. I was good to go in around 15-20 minutes. Coming from AT&T, I am very impressed with the service so far! read more

My wife and I are seniors. While we use technology, many times when we have to buy something new, salespeople who were born with cellphones in their hands are way too speedy and use terms that are not familiar to us. They get impatient when we ask for explanations or ask them to slow down. Saul was the exact opposite. He was incredibly patient, explained everything, did not talk in "tech" language and was very courteous. Another thing that often happens to us is that people think that because we are elderly we don't know enough and can easily be talked into buying things. They are pushy and try to oversell us. We have actually ended some sales transactions because of this attitude. We had done a lot of research and knew what phone we wanted and Saul was very respectful of our choice and our needs. His customer service skills are outstanding! I even told the manager how satisfied we were and he said that Saul was new to the position. He may have been knew but he could explain everything we needed to know and answered all our questions. This was the best cell phone buying experience we have ever had thanks to Saul! read more

My phone, a Samsung Stratosphere died this morning. I was 6 weeks away from being able to save money by taking advantage of my upgrade at discount. I did not have an extended warranty or extra coverage. However, Travis the store manager approved my upgrade anyway. I am so grateful for this as I didn't want to have to pay $700.00 for a new smart phone and that's the cost when you purchase without the upgrade discount. Victoria helped me with the new phone and did an outstanding job for me including filling out the rebate form for me and even putting it in a sealed envelope! This kind of customer service is unheard of these days. What a great experience and you can bet I will come back to this store. I am very pleased with my new Samsung Galaxy III! They also gave me the option of getting a replacement Samsung Stratosphere shipped overnight and then I could upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy IV when it came out. However, I needed a phone now, but very much appreciated the option! It's obvious they know what quality customer service is and they are not just out to make a buck. Well, this is the best Verizon Store! In particular, Ms. Jackie Williams, Solution Specialist - and the managers (I only know the name of one: Mr. Josh Slack) well - she is, they are simply the best. Am a 20-year customer of Verizon and have had good and not-so-good experiences - but this week - the week after Christmas we needed help activating two Apple products and were told by the customer service (after an 1.5 hour wait on the phone to talk with them) to go to a "Corporate" store. Thought the Lake Shore store would not be as busy as Hollis or El Cerrito - but had never been there before because once a long time ago someone tried to stab me on that street. Well the store was busy, but the help we received activating an IPad Pro and several days later activating a Watch 3 was accomplished with efficiency, knowledge, excellence and kindness -- humbly extraordinary. So, extraordinary I am writing a letter to the CEO of Verizon, Mr. Lowell McAdam (will he get the letter - get it that he has an extraordinary employee and an extraordinary store in his ranks and file - who knows) -- and in that letter recommend he and/or the company single out this Lake Shore store and Ms. Williams for positive recognition in a meaningful way. A lot of people came into the store needing help -- complicated technical stuff - and/ or things like urgent need to pay a bill so the person could use his/her phone --plus a zillion people were in the store milling around looking at the products. -- Couldn't have been a better experience. The customer service rep who helped me, Jabari, was so rude tonight that I feel the need to write a review. I came in to trade in my 5s for my iphone7 that I had purchased a month or so ago. It just has taken me a bit to come back to Verizon to trade in my phone. None the less, it's 7:00 PM and the woman tells me it's going to be about a 15 minute wait until someone can help me. Thinking that was a bit excessive for what looked like a slow night, I thought "What the hell, why not" and decided to be patient. That same woman decides to help me within 5 minutes but needs a little more help/training so she asks her coworker to help her. At which point Jabari comes over. He asks to see my ID in a tone of voice almost came off like "You could be trying to pull a shady one." I show him my ID. As he's training the woman how to trade in a phone, he tells her to double check to make sure there are no cracks & that my phone can turn on and off. I let them know it's been dead. He then tells her "You definitely want to make sure it can turn on" in a tone of voice that lacked professionalism, a tone of voice which made me feel as if I was some kind of thief, a liar, shady (along those lines). I still remained calm (mind you, I'm nearly 8 months pregnant and I'm trying to remain calm instead of getting highly upset in the store for feeling judged to some sort). None the less, the woman (who has been nice the entire time) goes behind the register to charge the phone. During that time of waiting for my phone to turn on, they help another customer and his family to which now caused the whole transaction of trading in my phone to be longer than it really should have been. In reality, the phone probably turned on within 5 minutes of them plugging it in but they were helping out the other family causing me to wait even longer. Not really sure why they couldn't have tagged team on the transaction. None the less, the family they helped left and now they were able to be attentive to what I came into the store for. As the transaction is finalizing, the woman sales associate told Jabari she thought the phone looked fine (as in no cracks & it turned on). In another "she could be a thief pulling one of us tone" he said in a rude, unprofessional way "Hold on, I just want to make sure there are no cracks on here" to which obviously there wasn't. She looked at me and smiled. Part of me thinks she could tell I was probably annoyed at that point. He also was getting playful and flirty with her during the transaction in front of me which was highly unprofessional and none the less annoying. As Jabari was finishing up the transaction on his Ipad, I asked him a question about the free upgrade eligibility & contracted rates. Every time I started to ask my question, I kid you not, he interrupted me THREE TIMES to tell his coworker to go do something. I was pretty upset at that point because every time he interrupted me he didn't ask me what my question was nor even apologize. He ignored me. So of course, I would start up my question again and then he'd interrupt me to tell his co worker to go do something and then ignore me again. I had to start over my question every time he interrupted me. He obviously didn't want to hear my question. By the third time of trying all over again to ask my question, the woman associate told Jabari "Shhh, she's trying to ask you a question." He then looks at me, still not one apology or even trying to excuse himself. I scramble to get the words together for my question because at that point I'm pretty upset & still trying to talk calmly. I am pregnant so last thing I want to do is get stressed out or angry over an immature sales associate on how he was treating me. Anyway, I ask him my question to which I didn't feel like I got an entirely correct answer. Mind you, I've paid for my own cell account since I was 16 and have had my own account with Verizon wireless since 2007, owning several of phones. So his answer contradicted my experience of having purchased phones when signing a new contract or using my free upgrade. In fact, when I asked my questioned, he gave me the impression as if he thought I was stupid. I mean, really? None the less, I will never be going to this store again and I suggest to anyone who has taken the time to read this to go to a different location or you may get the same treatment as I did and walk out feeling disappointed and judged by someone who probably just has a high school degree. By their door, they have a bell that says "Ring for excellent customer service", lol. I had horrible customer service! Management, I suggest you supervise your employees a little more closely. For someone who spends over $100/mo to give Verizon my business, this is unacceptable. As an office manager myself, I would never allow my employees to treat customers in the same way I was treated. read more

Over the top, beyond helpful, amazing customer service from very smart and darling Sandra who stayed on the phone for over an HOUR to get my iphone reconnected after a theft - and get insurance to take my replacement phone back. Impressive store manager swooped in to support his team and come up with an answer to solve insurmountably frustrating issue w/ insurance - thanks Trent! Have been to this store several times and find consistently helpful people, excellent and responsive management, genuine caring from staff. I had such a terrible experience at this store a vow never to return. The girl who was assigning the sales reps to assist others was a pompous judgemental disrespectful human being. I'd recently joined Verizon and did not understand how the whole system worked. All I needed was a charger. She told me there was a 30-40 minute wait. When I'd asked her why, she was horribly condescending. She was just horrible. When I told her I didn't appreciate her tone, she went to the security guard and told her I was being belligerent and threatening. I found this hilarious being that I'm handicapped. This place is horrible and I'm really sorry I'd joined Verizon. Again, all I needed was a charger. I waited quietly for the 30 minutes only for that rude person to tell me that they were out of the charger I'd requested. This was such a terrible hurtful experience. I wish I could give zero stars. This review is for the store associate I spoke with named Jackie. Mind you, I am taking into account that I walked into the store about 10 minutes before the closed. I had been on the phone with Verizon customer service earlier in the day and was bounced back and forth between SIX call people. Against, my better judgement, I hoped coming into a store would help getting my question asked. While Jackie maintained that she couldn't speak as to what Apple's policy is/was as I was trying to obtain an upgrade of my phone through Apple, but was running into a roadblock due to my Verizon service, she did so in the WORST MANNER I have ever encountered. She was VERY RUDE and condescended me at one point by saying, " do you want me to write it down for you?" As if she was speaking another language and I couldn't understand her fluently. I have never left a feeling like my service wasn't valued. I have gone to stores where they couldn't help, but they answered my questions, and sent me elsewhere that could be more helpful. Everyone knows trying to get your phone fixed or getting a new one is an arduous process. My experience wasn't bad at all! I arrived and was immediately checked in and told it could be up to 45 minutes. So I walked down to CVS to grab a prescription and when I got back the wait was only 10 minutes. I upgraded my phone with Keturah, who was amazeballs at multi-tasking. She was able to help me and another customer at the same time and it never felt like I was being neglected. It probably took two hours after all was said and done, but I'm really pleased with my experience at this store. The entire staff is really friendly! And once you're checked in, they notify you by text when you're next to allow you to go and run other errands without missing your time slot. read more

Crap Service. Idiot staff. Please don't support this location. My iPhone 5s' battery wouldn't last more than 3 hours, on stand by. The speakers and microphone blew out so I couldn't answer phone calls. Time for an upgrade. Went to get an iPhone 6 plus. Was told it would arrive in 2 weeks because of back order. I was fine with the wait. After purchase, noticed my receipt was for the 6, not the plus. Luckily, I was outside the door when I caught it. Went back to correct them, they couldn't adjust it and told me to just wait for the phone to come in and bring it in to exchange it. Really? Phone came in 5 days later, went to exchange and they didn't have the phone I requested. Had to do a whole new order when they could've just placed the order in that same day. Why tell me to wait for the phone to arrive and tell me to bring it in to exchange it when they didn't have the phone to exchange it with? The wait is another 2 weeks. I was upset but I wanted the iPhone 6 plus. Got an email stating that my phone would not arrive for another 2 months. 2 MONTHS. Fuck that. Went in for a refund and they said they couldn't do it unless the phone came in. Asked for the manager, she told me she can give me a replacement phone until the phone came in. Nope. No deal. Give me my refund. The manager stated that she couldn't give me the refund because I paid in cash and that they didn't have the cash to pay me back in. Asked if I wanted store credit. Nope. Fuck that. I don't want to give my business to them, to this location in particular. Just give me my refund. I was very understanding, very patient, and now they're trying to prevent me from getting my money back. I told them I was just going to get the iPhone directly from Apple now and they laughed at me stating, "good luck." What the hell is that supposed to mean? I called the verizon hotline number, got in contact with a "manager," her name is Jasmine, and she got me back my refund the very next day. She told me that they weren't supposed to accept cash for iPhone orders, that they should've issued me a refund the day i requested it, and she found out that they put my cash into a gift card and used that gift card for my purchase. That's why they kept trying to push store credit on me and the main reason why they didn't want to issue me a cash refund. She also told me that the managers and the sales reps who helped me would be reprimanded. I'm not in the business to mess with other peoples money and jobs but when they messed with my money and my time, it's personal. I got my money back and that very same day, I went to the Apple store and got an iPhone 6 plus. In the colour and specs I wanted. In hand. The main thing that really made me upset was that I had a newborn and I was constantly going back and forth. I was in the store for days trying to fix an issue that they created for me. Time that I've wasted when I should be at home with my newborn and not at a verizon store. "Good luck." Good luck getting your fucking commissions, assholes. This is my second complaint to the BBB about Verizon. I am on my 3rd replacement Palm pre which has a plethora or problems. Verizon is aware of the numerous customer complaints about this device and yet refuses to give me another phone. I wouldn't consider myself a picky phone user and I have never had to get a replacement phone for any reason in my history of cell phone use but, this phone is not useable most of the time and i am paying nearly $100/m to keep it serviced. I had paid $140 for the Palm pre and thankfully have insurance to continually replace the non working phones. Verizon will not refund what I paid for this phone despite the fact that it is under warranty. They refuse to set me up with a new phone at no charge, which I feel is only reasonable since they have knowingly sold me a defective device. Either I have to setup a second user on my account, renew my contract or purchase a refurbished phone to even qualify for a discount. Does this seem fair? On top of it all I have to keep wasting my time, gas and money getting back and forth to the Verizon store to try and resolve this ridiculous issue. Since Verizon cannot step up and do the right thing, I feel that I should be released from my contract with no liability. I also feel that I am due a credit for the time and effort I have wasted just trying to get what I pay for, on time every month. read more

She traded in my old iPhone for a new one, she reviewed my account and helped me save $150 per month, and she told me how to use a mobile hot spot for wifi anywhere for just $20 per month. Everyone at the store (from the friendly, patient, and helpful security guard at the front door protecting all the staff and customers from COVID, to the General Manager, to the employee ***GRAHAM*** who WAS BEYOND INCREDIBLY HELPFUL) allowed me to feel well-taken care of as well as safe (from COVID). First of all, every staff member that I saw was wearing a mask the whole time that covered both their mouth AND NOSE! So thank you so much for keeping our community safe. Second of all: GRAHAM IS THE MAN. I needed a new phone (I had the same iPhone SE for *4 years* and badly needed a new one as it was finally on its last leg) and I am extremely technologically challenged (it's honestly amazing I even figured out how to write this review! XD). Graham helped me in the store for **2 HOURS** and walked me through the whole process of getting a new phone that fit my needs and my budget! Appallingly slow service AND customers are kept waiting in a torturous store environment. I stood around (no where to sit down) for half an hour, even though employees outnumbered customers. (One of them ran out to pick up pizza while customers were waiting!) When my name finally made it to the top of the list (yeah, it is so bad that they display your name and position in the queue on monitors at each end of the store), it took another ten minutes for someone to help me. In the meantime, I was subjected to blaring music combined with noise coming from smart phones on display that were demonstrating their abilities to make more noise. Earplugs might have helped dull the din. I really wanted to wait outside but was afraid that I would miss my turn in line. When I finally got to see a service rep, he admitted that my phone was malfunctioning and told me that they would replace it. (Whoopee! I've been paying every month for replacement insurance. In the past I have put cell phones through the washing machine and just plain lost them. I did nothing to damage this phone. It has had this intermittent problem since I got it.) He offered to let me pay an additional $13 for overnight delivery of a new device. When I pointed out that the device was defective and that Verizon should eat the cost of overnight shipping, he simply said, "I can't do that." No offer to reduce my monthly charge to compensate for my wasted time and frustration. He wanted me to "have a good experience." Too late for that, pal. I don't know where the nearest alternative to this store is, but you can be sure I will find it. I will NEVER go back there, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this location. read more

So... I recently had an accident that resulted in the destruction of my phone. I did not have insurance and was ready to bite the bullet and pay over $500 to replace it... Last years model HTC One. I walk into this store and was greeted by a gentleman that at first seemed professional enough. He asked to take my name and to state my business to which he was told I am there to make an out-right, no-contract purchase. You see, If you've read the first paragraph, my options are limited and so I really *do* know what I want and don't need much assistance beyond trading the merchandise for legal tender. However, the greeter that assisted me didn't have the intellectual capacity beyond an ape and couldn't follow simple instructions. Four times he suggested a payment plan for a phone I was willing/waiting to pay for IN FULL and have expressly and unequivocally relayed this to him. I told him that I was interested ONLY in the no-contract purchase of the phone and he 1) asked for ID 2) looked up my account 3) ran a credit check before going to the back to grab a phone that was going to be a STRAIGHT PURCHASE. He returned 10 minutes later apologizing for the long wait and instead of telling me he is having trouble finding my phone, he tells me he wants me to talk to the manager to DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR A PAYMENT PLAN. After reminding him that I DONT WANT a payment plan and asking him if he understood this, he just stood there... looking like an ape listening to plain English instead of grunts/growls. I left the store in disgust (and phoneless) letting him know he lost a sale. I have to say that when a customer tells you exactly what they want... um... you should probably shut your mouth and give it to them. You look far more professional that way. read more

I had a great experience here, especially because of Michelle. She is amazeballz! I came in to a very friendly Verizon employee welcoming me. Though I had to wait a few minutes, Michelle approached me already knowing exactly what I needed and how she could help me quickly (Basically I had to return a faulty Galaxy phone and get it replaced ASAP). She made sure I'd receive the phone by the next day. She did try to sell me a tablet, but she did it in a professional, nonpushy way. She asked me questions about the nature of my work and offered me several promotions for tablets. Though I didn't end up purchasing one, I will consider it now and it's all because Michelle is awesome sauce. read more

I bought a Ellipsis Jetpack (MiFi Device) yesterday on Mother's Day. The Solution Specialist, Terry was friendly and very helpful. I purchased a Palm Pre cell phone over 10 years ago at this store. The staff was helpful then also. This store has treated me very well. I will return for cell phone and internet services in the future. I recommend this store to others. read more
