I was surprised to see the two-star rating. I was in the store twice within a month. One issue was my phone had been stolen and the second time was when I was considering getting their tower for the internet. Both times the staff, especially the manager went above and beyond to help me and explain the process of setting up the tower in full. I was told any problems. I was on phone for 5 hours yesterday. No luck getting gizmo watch working. They told me to go to a corporate store so I chose orland to go to. I was called to get help from Janise. she didn't waste any time telling me I would have to go back to store that I originally received the watch from. followed by a "nothing she could do". sounded more like she didn't want to do. So I asked for the manager and he dialed me in within 15 minutes. Janie was quick to dismiss me. Maybe because I was white, I hope not Sure, i even asked her to come over so she could learn how to fix the issue for the next time. She wanted no part. Employees definitely could use more training. Very passive aggressive and very rude employee. Interrupted myself and her manger while we were talking. Manager is not knowledgeable with dealing with support issues after customers are referred to them from tech for replacement equipment. However, did state equipment smell like it was burning and rushed to unplug box after I showed him what the problem was. Exceptionally happy with Mandar with tech support 800 number. This young man was very knowledgeable and helpful in resolving the issue. Did not try to activate replacement box with hire price unlike this Orland Park location. For the Orland Park location I see why the reviews are low would not recommend this location to anyone!!! read more

I walked in on Wednesday to try and pick up a WiFi router that I had ordered online. The store was slightly busy, but not busy enough for there to be a line. So I sat and waited for anyone to a acknowledge that I was there. But I ended up leaving after sitting there for 30 minutes, even though who I assume was a manger came out from the back and talked with the security guard. Also, their phone number just redirects to the general number so you can't even check to see if your order is ready. read more

I only came in because I've been waiting on my order for about to be 2 days but I just left the store without any questions answered other than my order being confirmed but not yet processed which is totally understandable with all the pre orders for the iPhone 15. The Agent I spoke before with before arriving said he would leave a remark on the order so they will be able to contact him and resolve whatever is holding the order but when I tried to point that out the associate responded with "we have better things to do" so without responding or escalating the situation any further I just decided to leave and hopefully receive a confirmation to pick up my order. read more

I was wrong, I thought this was my go to Verizon store for new phones and service, but I was wrong. Much like the Crestwood store, they will lie through their teeth to make the sale. Went into this store looking to purchase a new phone for my son. He already new want he wanted and this was after doing his research. So they knew they had one sale in the bag, so they work on me to upgrade my phone. I only change phones when the my current phone goes bad or it becomes really obsolete. But the sales clerk was intend on upgrading my phone, which was repeated through out the process. After being burned by the famous free tablet, which cost ten dollars a month for two years, I asked several times if there was going to be any extra charges. So I get my bill and there it is, an extra charge for insurance that we did not ask for and told the clerk that we did not what the insurance. So I have to call Verizon and get the insurance removed and now wait for a credit on the next bill. Why do they pull this crap every time? Also as I was on the phone with customer service, they like to bring up that I have been a customer for many years, so what! You are still going to jack around a long term customer, how nice. read more

Horribly disappointed. I had 4 phones and one watch with T-Mobile and wanted to transfer everything over to Verizon. My first step however was to just transfer my phone and Apple watch with the intentions of taking care of the rest at a later time. I went in the store at around 6:45 PM and was met by "Tammy" who began the process. The process went smooth up until it came down to purchasing the insurance for the transferred Apple Watch (around 8:15 PM). Tammy wasn't allowed (via the system) to purchase the insurance and asked her manager "Will" (store manager) who was standing next to her. Will's reply, in front of me, was a shrug of his shoulders, and a verbal statement of "I don't know, you're looking at the same screen that I am". Tammy, a trooper, continued on and called Verizon IT who put her on hold while looking into the problem. At that time, I asked Tammy if I could leave and if she could call me once IT cleared things up. She agreed, I left. About 15 minutes later, Tammy called me and informed me that they weren't able to resolve the issue and that she was not going to be in the next day, due to a day off. She did however reassure me that Will, the aforementioned manager, is aware of the problem and will address it with IT immediately the next morning-then call me back. At 10:48 AM the next morning (and after not hearing back from Will) I called the store to inquire about the issue. Will told me that he looked into it and IT hasn't come to a resolution yet. He did however tell me that he would check on it again and call me back with what he learned. At 2:30 PM, after not hearing back from Will, I again called the store in order to speak with him. To my surprise, Will had left for the day. I then spoke with Victor and relayed the fact that I was disappointed in the service that I was provided and that I now am wearing a $400.00 Apple Series 4 watch that is uninsured with no further resolve as to when it will or can be insured. Victor listened patiently as I continued on and ended the conversation. Again, no resolution. In closing and as I said at the beginning of this review, I initially wanted to transfer a total of 4 phones and 1 watch over to Verizon. I'm not quite sure that this is going to happen now. Albeit, T-Mobile's coverage isn't as good as Verizon's, and I needed the coverage for work, their customer service is much better. I am contemplating leaving Verizon and taking all of my phone lines to another service provider. If this customer service is a sign of things to come, I don't want anything to do with it. read more

Our experience at the store was terrible. We walked in to an uncrowded store and the GM told us it would be a 45 minute wait. We had our two children, both under 3 years of age with us. When we asked if we could leave and come back so the kids didn't run a muck throughout the store he told us we would lose our place in line if we left the store and he would have to put us in the back of the line again. We advised we were there to get a new iPhone 11 to take advantage of the $350 phone trade in discount. We braved the wait with our children and waited the entire time. Our toddler of course eventually had to go the bathroom and we were told we couldn't use their bathroom, so one of us stayed to hold our spot in line and the other one of us had to walk him across the street to use the bathroom at an auto shop. We then eventually met with a salesperson and talked for another 45 minutes going through the options and what we could do to for a phone trade in on a promotion. When we finally went to check out/pay, she told us that she had actually made a mistake and the promotion we had just been discussing the entire time was actually no longer available, it had ended yesterday, and we would have to pay full price for our phone. We asked the GM to honor the promotion since we had been in the store for almost 2 hours now and had made decisions based on what turned out to be false information provided by them. He said no, that he would be having a private conversation with his salesperson about her mistake, but that he couldn't do anything to help us. He was rude to us and his salesperson. He chastised her for providing bad information and took no accountability for his incomplete training/informing the employees of the days promotions, or for his part in the problem as a manager. I felt extremely frustrated with the situation and also felt bad for her. We left the store with nothing after wasting more than two hours of our day. We then called Verizon customer service who told us when we explained the situation that the GM COULD have honored that promotion, but that's only in his hands; so he just didn't want to. While the salesperson provided us with incorrect information that caused us to waste a lot of time, and that is pretty irritating, mistakes do happen. We are more upset with the general manager for his attitude and his complete lack of interest in doing anything at all to remedy a mistake made on their part. My husband is a sales manager himself, and we both feel strongly that when things like this happen, it is the manager's responsibility to step in and demonstrate an effort to remedy the problem. We expect some sort of - "I'm so sorry this happened; let me see what I can do to make the situation better," response, but what we got instead was more of "there's nothing I can do; she gave you bad information and I'll be speaking privately with her about this mistake," which just leaves us feeling frustrated as well as guilty for what we know she now has to deal with. That isn't the way it should be handled. We are feeling VERY frustrated and disappointed. We will not be returning to this store. read more

Verizon, Verizon, Verizon..... This store boils my blood. I have a friend who used to work as a salesman in a verizon store in New England. A long time ago he gave me the ins and outs on what the sales folks do to get products sold. But this situation below makes me so angry! We have never experienced any issues with Verizon in the past. We went into the store two months ago to get the iphone 6 for my girlfriend. We are on the same bill and she was available for an upgrade. She knew the phone, color, and memory capacity. The sales person only had to get the phone, activate it, and make a commission. First thing we experienced was a long wait. There where many people being helped so we thought this was only reasonable based on the clients there. We were greeted by a gentleman named David. He started on our nerves as he tried to sell us a phone which we did not want. He even was trying to sell me an upgraded when we CLEARLY told him that we were only interested in her phone. After over a half hour he came back with the phone she wanted in the color. We had to get the lower memory phone because they did not have the color and Iphone available at the store. We were not too caught up on this issue. He struck up a conversation with us about how my girlfriend works near where David lives. This continued continued for a while and we were able to get her work savings onto our bill. David was BS ing the whole time as we tried to get the purchase done and out the door. Verizon had recently restructured the way they put together their contracts. This was reviewed for the billing process and finally we had the phone out of the box. David moved us around to other associates who tried to get us to spend more money. Then he said the offer comes with a free jetpack. Then we can use it for all the times we do not need it. We adamantly said time and time again that we did not need it. They kept saying that it was free and we should just take it so that can use it. We mentioned that it would use up our data. He agreed that it would use our data but since we do not get near our limit it would not be an issue. After more than 2 associates saying it would be free, we said okay. They had to establish another line on our account but it would not cost us any money. Well, after a long visit we were ready to leave. David told us that they are going paperless and the recipt would be emailed. We MISTAKENLY said okay and we left with a new phone, jetpack, and a 100$activation fee. The days go by and the next month's bill comes. It had a new line activation charge, a monthly charge for the jetpack, and new charges for the new phone. We understood the new phone charges but were curious where all the charges for the jetpack came from. We went down to the store and did not see David. We did talk with a customer representative who showed us the bills. It was one of the 3-4 emails they had sent to us. He was very nice and informed us that it was all in the emailed reciept. He told us that reciepts are available in print form. He also gave us the terrible news that it was over 14 days so we could not bring back the jetpack for free. We had to pay a deactivation fee.($300) We also found out that the "free screen protector" was also charged to us. :( LONG STORY SHORT: We were conned out of money for items we were told were free. We will not go back to this store again and if required we will definitely be very very careful. Watch what these people do and never take anything that is "free". These people are scam artists trying to make a couple more dollars. Please be careful at this store. It cost us over $300 dollars. read more

Be prepared for a wait when you come. Even if you get there as the store opens at 10, there are usually people waiting to get it. We happened to come shortly before they closed. Thankfully, they see everybody who gets in the door just before closing. I felt kind of bad making the workers stay past closing time, but they reassured me it was just fine. Corey, who helped us, was a nice guy and knowledgeable about the phone options. I ended up getting a newer phone with more storage. What can I say... I have a new baby and take thousands of pictures every day. (Or something like that.) I felt bad making them transfer all my contacts and pics from my old phone, because it was already log past closing time. So they said I could come back the next day and they would do it for free! read more

We went to a corporate store, located in Orland, on purpose to take advantage of the BYOD promotion, we even made an appointment. The process took over 2 hours and ended with us leaving with three phones not functioning. Were told the phones would start working at 1130 the next day. 1130 came and went and the phones did not work. Went back to the store and waited to be seen. Our rep and a manager came out and said it was our previous carriers problem and Verizon would do nothing to help remedy the problem. Our previous carrier, despite their challenges, was able to figure out what the problem was. Apparently the Verizon representative that was helping us must of been new and completed the process of switching us over out of order. As a result the Verizon Rep ended up BRICKING our phones. Meaning he messed them up so bad that they are now paper weights. When I called the store to get a next level of manager contact information I was told they do not do that and I would have to call customer service for assistance and to not bother coming in to the store. When i asked to cancel everything I was told to call the number and not bother with the store by someone who claimed to the store manager. While I wasn't happy with my previous carrier this does not make me care for my new one. Proceed with caution and probably explore other options. read more

I have been on a family plan since early 2004 with Verizon, this review is not a commentary on the service but on the sales and customer service practices of Store #1n146601. My aging mother has not upgraded her phone for about 6 years and recently (the 26th of July) had decided to do so. She was told by a sales associate named Kevin that her upgrade credit could get her an Iphone 6, for $130. Then to sweeten the deal he threw in $100 worth of free accessories. My mother and father talked it over and understood the offer to be $130 for phone and accessories, and agreed. $130 was charged, however on her monthy bill an equipment fee (1 of 24) appeared for $31.47 for a grand total of $755.28! This is the first problem, why then was it explained to my mother and father that the phone would be $130? Both parties had discussed the activation fee, data upgrades etc., so both parties were in agreement that the bill would increase but why was the sale made on the false claim that this iphone would cost $130!? Not a month earlier when I had gone in for a smartphone upgrade it was explained to me twice that the monthly equipment fee would be added, but never, not once to my not so tech savy parents. This could be the service you receive and any customer new or old should be wary should you choose this store. On attempting to resolve this issue today (8/29/2016) with a phone call to the Store's Solutions manager, his best solution was to have my mother return these "free" accessories for a 1 time credit of their value toward the bill!! Completely skirting the fact that one of their employees made a false claim leading to over $700 in unwanted charges. Upon being asked for a Regional Manager's name and office or current store number, the Solution's manager refused to produce either and soon became unwilling to work further on a problem caused by one of his fellow employees because he wasn't there and didn't see it. Then simply stated that we should have a nice day before hanging up. Regional Manager of this particular store if you do happen to see this please PM me, we've been customers for a very long time and would love to work with you on the issue. In the meantime we are looking into filing a BBB claim and are spreading the word. Potential buyers and upgrading customer's beware, ask for extreme clarification and if need be prepare for the worst. Horrible customer service and deceptive sales practices. read more

Got told by the salesman to go online, he couldn't help me with anything, and never showed me one single product. He was more concerned about ordering his lunch than help me. Let me start with problem #1) my phone was having charging problems so I took it in the sales associate that seen me almost immediately started drawing me pictures on the back of a sales paper with little $$$$ signs everywhere and the words data and save. He said he couldn't help me unless I purchased a warranty for a phone that's 2 years old and tried plugging a newer data plan for more money # 2)I told him that it wasn't going to happened and asked about an upgrade he response to me was it would cost $600 to upgrade because my contract wasn't up yet.( 8 weeks left) So I left, called the 1-800 and got a new phone for regular price. I asked why this associate couldn't do that and the response was that all he had to do was ask. I came into the Orland Park store yesterday for what I was told would be a routine phone trade out. I found out that the customer service rep who processed my order made a mistake in our last transaction. I asked to speak to the store manager when solutions were not offered as the reps seemed to be confused about what happened on my account. I was met by the alleged "store manager",Rachel, who I later learned after filing a complaint had not been fully appointed to this role. Rachel was aggressive and unprofessional in her approach with me. Instead of properly greeting me and listening to my concern regarding my, transaction she led in a defensive and aggressive manner in support of the customer service rep. I was never greeted, never provided time to discuss my issues, never offered an apology for the mishap, and never shown any true value as a customer. Her only solution was to encourage me to pay for the store's error and I was told that "if I refused to accept this solution it would cost me to waste her time in having to deal with customer service" As a client of over 4 years , as she pointed out without uttering me as little as a "thanks for your continued business", I have never felt so disrespected nor have I ever been threatened by a company that I pay a consistent bill. The treatment by the aspiring store manager was unprofessional and rude. I am concerned why Verizon would even consider an employee with this type of behavior as a prospect for leadership in a reputable phone company. I offer this scenario after reading that this store has a long standing history of poor customer service. With potential leadership like this on the rise, I refuse to return to the store and will absolutely drive out of my way or default to dealing with Verizon's phone customer care service. I am encouraging other potential customers to go to another location. It's not worth the headache, unprofessionalism or disrespect. read more

So today at 3pm I drove to my local Verizon store and upon arrival I noticed it was closed, shades locked. So I came home and attempted to get my questions answered via website. No luck with that so I scheduled an appointment for a phone call. I spent about 30 minutes talking with Juan about ways to lower my bill and apply my employer discount to the bill. Juan wad very scripted and talked in circles not really explaining the plans to me. He told me I could not get my discount because I pay for unlimited data. He told be of plans with 5g and 10g but we already established I need over 20g a month. So he says "is there anything I can do to make you happy with verizon?" No, there is not Juan. I am sorry your company does not let you truly help your customers. I have choices and will be exploring other options. Which is sad as I have been a customer for over 20 years. This store is eager to sell you all the "extra" deal packs but when you have a simple problem....they didn't switch SIM cards, they treat you with disrespect and attitude. I went into the store the next morning to get my new X iPhone fixed and the same associates where there but they made me wait the entire time for them to use a paper clip to swap out my phones and told me that I should have just U-tubed the process. Love the company but.... Expect to pay extra at this location! My girlfriend and I were planning on replacing her 4-year-old iPhone 6 with a new iPhone. Her phone was on its last leg and she was desperate for an update. I started off looking online to see if there were any deals on an iPhone 6s or 7 since buying the newest iPhone is just way too much money. I saw that we were able to trade her 6 in for about $136 which would be factored into the new phone's price and there was a 6s available at this location so we decided to stop in despite looking at the terrible google and Yelp reviews. I mean, come on? It's Verizon, great phone service and each location we've been to has always been helpful. How bad could it be? Well.... It was bad. We walked in and we were greeted by a woman. We told her that we needed an upgrade for my girlfriend's phone and that we were interested in a 6s. She immediately told us that "The website online doesn't have our in-store stock.", which was interesting considering that this location was the only one which had an iPhone 6s 32gb rose gold in stock in ~15-mile radius. We said okay and we asked for whats in stock. She came back with a gold iPhone 6s 126 GB (forgive me if I am wrong about the LARGEST GB storage on the phone, we were not interested) for about $22/mo, while an iPhone 7 with the 64gb storage was the same price. We decided on choosing the 7. She then asked me if I wanted to pay my iPhone 6 off, which was only about $60 left, and upgrade too but I declined since my phone works perfectly. We then asked about the trade in for my gf's iPhone 6. The woman said that the trade in value will only go towards other merchandise, which is a $90 phone screen protector and case bundle.... We wanted the credit towards the phone. We told her we weren't interested and explained how the online service said that the $136 trade-in value would go towards the new phone. But she said she cannot do that and it would only go towards another product, which she then asked if we wanted to buy speakers, which again we said were not interested. We continued with the sales process and got to the insurance portion. Obviously, we want insurance, iPhones are fragile and we don't want to keep paying for a broken phone. The only options she gave us was an $11/mo full coverage or no insurance. I then asked what are the other options and if we could get the $7/mo coverage which covers screen damage, water damage, and theft which my phone has. The woman then said that they "discontinued" that coverage and only offers this full $11mo coverage then continued to say that this coverage won't be available again if we decline it which we would then have to wait till an "enrollment period". I then asked about the bill. Recently we had to switch from our 4 GB plan to an 8 GB plan due to our internet being out at home and having to rely on our phone's internet hotspot to do homework. She brought up last month's bill, which was for the 4 GB plan and attempted to explain the bill once we added the new phone. The woman attempted to tell me that the "steady" bill we've been having was for an 8 GB plan and that since we were switching to the 4 GB next month it would be less a than the bill she was looking at. She seriously just tried to lie to our faces and thought I didn't know our bill. She attempted to lie to make the sale.... At this point, we knew we were getting hustled. I totally understand that she wants to make a commission but this is just too much, my bill was literally going to double with just a new phone. I understand that we would have to pay the new phone off but an extra $22 to $33 SHOULD NOT triple our bill. We ended up leaving the store, checking online, and received a MUCH BETTER deal than in the store. I was able to apply the $136 trade-in value for the iPhone 6 to the new phone and yes, the $7mo insurance plan IS STILL AVAILABLE!!!! I understand she's trying to make commission and I do work in sales while I'm going through med school but come on. This is just flat out unethical. It was obvious she just wants the commission. Never going to this location and I now understand the terrible reviews. read more

He told me there was only one difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s which was a lie because when I went to the Apple store, they gave me 3. Denise was awful at helping me with an upgrade. First off, I called 20 minutes prior to walking in the store to make sure the phone I wanted was in stock. They told me that there were plenty of that model and color in stock. When I got there I signed in and proceeded to wait patiently for an hour to be seen. When my name was called Denise was there to "help". She was extremely rude, and she kept trying to sell me on a Motorola Razr phone. I kept telling her "no thank you" over and over again. Then when she finally went to get the phone I asked for in the back she came out saying it was out of stock. So so frustrating. Especially since I called beforehand. Manager Will is racist. I witness him making me wait to return items that i got yesterday in which he said i had to wait because people are ahead of me for the new iPhone. Although my case was in and out he never told me about the text message i should receive while being in line and i watched him inform everyone else. If you go to this location ask for him. You will not be sorry. He is patient, caring, and goes above and beyond what is expected of a sales person. Spent almost 2 hours here yesterday left completely frustrated got such a feeling of being hoodwinked the guy waiting on me kept trying to get me to buy extra stuff he seemed more concerned with that,then selling me what I actually came in for also he was changing prices throughout conversation, he was paying his peers and their customers more attention than he was me, very sloppy customer service, I ended up leaving very frustrated and not even buying the Apple Watch I went in there for‍! I have been a long time customer with Verizon recently moved this way and used this store for first time but I think I will drive back to my old store 40 minutes away because that store always had great customer service! read more

I got hookwinked, but they did give me a full refund. I only lost 8 hours of my life dealing with being a Verizon customer for 24 hours.

Went to this Verizon store in hope they would help fix my damaged phone screen, instead I received horrible attitude from the female general manager. When I had questions on insurance she gave me snarky comments about deductibles, acting like I should've known what she was talking about when she never explained it. Very disappointed in management, she lacked professionalism and listening skills. She needs customer service training. Good luck to those who have to deal with that rude witch. read more

Leticia Ramos is a terrible customer service rep! She tells you to call if you need help and then has no patience and all she wants to do is hand you off to someone else. I called her about an error on my bill, she said she simply started the process and then handed me to another rep. I told her of my issue she said she didn't remember at all since somebody else handled my account. Then she came back on the phone and said she remembered very clearly my situation. I said 10 minutes ago, after you put me on hold again, you said you didn't remember anything, now you remember everything, which is it? She told me to get rid of my attitude! I hope they recorded that call, she is the worst and I'll never go back to that store. After 2 months I still don't have my bill straightened out! read more
