This is the best Verizon store in Santa Cruz County, granted it is only the third one I've tried, but by far the staff are happy to help you with your needs. I was in with my 84 year old mother and he was extremely patient and able to help explaining several times how the process would work. My rating is in regards to Shauwntay. She turned a crappy situation into a really good one for us and for that we will be forever grateful. Long story short, my poor mom dropped her phone and it got run over. We walked into another location (Los Gatos) and before we had a chance to even close the door behind us, the completely rude and unprofessional representative working said, "anything you're looking to do so can't help you." With a pause. Then she said "Our entire system is down, sorry." I get it. It's down, but be a little better. These kids, I swear. The ONLY Verizon location in Santa Cruz County worth going to. The atmosphere in this Verizon is night and day compared to the other stuffy "I don't have time for you" attitudes of the others (worst is on 41st Avenue). The employees in SV are over the top friendly, professional, helpful and PATIENT. Deven is AMAZING! Ask for Deven as he will spend the time (no matter how long to figure out the very best deal you can possible get). I never thought I would spend time writing a review for Verizon but the experience was that GREAT! Deven even made sure I understood my phone before I left. I changed my mind on phone type the next day and switched it out and even though it was an arduous task as far as paperwork etc etc he couldn't have been more kind and gracious. This took an hour plus of his sales time (as he asked me if I wanted to go shopping so I wouldn't have to wait). The Scott's Valley location has a really great new (convenient) restaurant /coffee bar with an extensive menu next door "The Point". Makes everything seemless and convenient to trade in your phone or get a new account with Deven and crew. Located in the Safeway Shopping Center. I was in the store, and locked out my phone, the associate couldn't get into my account. I had my dog with me, and she asked me to take my dog to the car. I did, and went back. She locked the door so I could not enter. My service was disconnected because of none payment. I was there to prove that $311 was paid a week ago. I am changing my provider. She was pleasant, provided answers to all my questions, was thorough with getting me setup on my new phone and watch. Customer service SUCKS!!! My mom just had major surgery and her cell phone is not receiving messages. It's very hard for her to get in the vehicle so she had called Scotts Valley Verizon and spoke with an employee 2 different times, once yesterday and today confirming someone would be there to help her with a technical issue with her phone. They employee said it would be no problem. So we arrive there after driving 30 minutes from her home and called in the parking lot to let them know we were walking in since yes COVID-19 has made new rules for customers...she proceeds to let us know we cannot come in and she will not help us because there are even newer rules. You can only pay your bill or buy a new phone....so basically as long as they are making money and or commissions. I understand this time is odd for us all but she did not even think to try and offer us support right there over the phone. She just said I can't help. Well when you call version you to get help they are too busy and send you to a message center to write back and forth, well my moms device is not working and she can't receive the stupid message they are trying to send. So it would have been nice if the actually employee at Scotts Valley Verizon would be a true customer service representative and help us even over the phone while we sit in the parking lot. Especially knowing my moms physical situation and that we drove a long ways to get there! They were dead slow in there so I'm sure the employee was having a nice day doing nothing and playing on her own phone while the time passes by. Such a long rant but I am pissed and you better believe Verizon will want to charge my mom a full priced bill like normal for service she has not received this past month. Walked in to order a S21 Ultra phone for my business account and was told they can help me. Waited about an hour before another lady came out from hiding in the backroom and was told they could not help me. They didn't even want to help I was asked to comeback another day. You don't tell a customer "yes we can upgrade your phone on your business account" if you can't. Terrible Store. Both times I went they couldn't sell me a new phone, because they claim Verizon fails to send them the Pre-Paid phones. They won't tell you that till you spend 1/2 waiting for them to look around while helping other customers. Verizon sucks, face it. They have the poorest customer service and the weakest network. I can't order even order a phone on-line because Verizon needs to send a security text and at my house in Bonny Doon my service is so poor, I can't receive a text on my Verizon/Samsung Phone. I can't make a call here either, it only works in town however my friend who has AT&T has no issues with his phone working at my place. So, it's time to switch to AT&T and leave the world of Verizon BS behind! read more

Pros: The customer service compared with the store in the Silicon Valley is night and day. Jacob was friendly, helpful and did what he could to help I purchased a VERY expensive phone from this store as the store in the Silicon Valley was so pretentious and I will never step that store again. He is the reason why I spent a LARGE sum of money at this store. Cons: No discounts. Accessories were expensive. No explanation or overview of charges before you agreed. They charged a $20.00 fee to move your phone over to another phone. They did not move over the texts. Overall, I like this store and that they are open on the weekend. I just think that they need a little fine tuning of their business practices. Other than that, I will be back. read more

As an AT&T customer, stepping into a different Wireless Company for help is obviously intimidating. Karen ended up helping me fix a few glitches on my AT&T iPhone and answered the question I had about my phone. Definitely did not expect her to be so nice knowing I wasn't even a Verizon customer. I ended up switching to Verizon. She made sure all my stuff worked properly before letting me go AND she ended up filling it some paperwork for me to get $150 for porting in. Yes, I didn't have to do anything, she did it all. Her coworker Miriam was insane nice too and helped me pick out a case and screen protector for the phone I ported . Great job from these ladies, they were the only ones working that day and I don't think the store needed anyone else . read more

My phone all of a sudden started getting terrible static. Being OLD and not tech-savvy, I took a deep breath and went to the Verizon store in Scotts Valley. Quentin helped me and was patient and I really felt like he cared about what happened with me. When I finally got my new phone, after visiting the horrible 41st store to order it, Khyla transferred all my data. She, too, was terrific, patient and understanding. I will buy all my stuff here from now on if this excellent customer service continues. This is during the pandemic and the store is responding in an excellent manner. This "store" frequently CLOSES EARLIER than POSTED. I even called to confirm the business hours and was told open till 7pm. I arrived at 6:19pm and they were CLOSED, DOORS LOCKED & LIGHTS OFF. I also experienced the same scenario a few weeks back except it was on a Saturday, I arrived @3:45 and the store was closed... and the hours posted said open till 6pm. I ended up going to Santa Cruz location. Who knows what time the store is open & closes? I'd be terminated by my employer I stop working when "I wanted to". I don't understand why this store can't comply with the business hours as posted. If working till 7pm does not suit an employee(s) schedule then please hire someone who can work until 7pm. Don't go to this store! I'll say it again, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!!! I've been dealing with a fraudulent charge made by Fernando, who works at this store, for MONTHS!!! I went to get my broken phone fixed. Was told that to use the insurance it would be $200. I didn't have that. I'm a single mom with low income. He said I could just switch it out for a new phone for a $15 charge. I was fine with that. He "hooked me up" with some bells and whistles, phone case screen protector and stuff. Tried to make it seem like he gave me a killer deal. Everything seemed good. Few days later I had a mysterious $371.35 charge on my bank account. I went back into the store to talk to Fernando about it. He acted like we had a understanding and I knew about the charge. I didn't. I never signed anything was never told it would cost me 371.35. Totally swindled me. I called customer service to deal with it. They said it was fraud and instructed me to dispute the charge with my bank. So I did. Then the charge showed up on my bill from Verizon. I called again and again and again and again and had it "taken care of" but yet, it's still on my account. They tell you what you wanna hear and just do whatever they want. It's still a huge problem that hasn't been resolved. I'm beyond upset with Verizon and Fernando!!! I'm ready to take this to small claims court. I would drop Verizon all together but it's the only carrier that gets service at my house. This is the most annoying issue and I can't get it fixed!! I visited this "small town" Verizon outlet yesterday right when they opened and am so glad I did. Miriam helped me ditch AT&T (whew!) and the process was painless and oh so easy. She even managed to figure out how to let me keep my existing iPhone without having to buy a new one (I learned that AT&T often tweaks phones to make it nigh impossible to use it with another carrier). Even when more customers came in while I was there, Miriam managed to let everyone know she'd be with them as soon as possible (she was the only one there for awhile). She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and something you don't always get these days: she really cared. I strongly recommend this particular store, and Miriam especially. Two months ago I turned in my iphone for an upgrade . After a lot of easy conversation about how easy it would be and that I would receive a credit for the returned phone on next months bill, I went home happy with my new phone, understanding that I had a credit coming. Then Verizon billed me for almost 400 dollars, and when I returned to the store, they told me it would be a month later before the credit went through. Time passed, no credit. I called Verizon, they sent me back to the store where it was explained to me that, I did not know, what everyone should know, that I was being billed for the payoff on the old phone. When I was being "sold" the new phone, he did not say anything about a payoff or I would have just waited. In fact, he said I would be getting $350 back for the returned phone. Their receipts are very confusing, and I was condescended to by the salesman tonight who said "everyone knows theres a payoff". My fault for not being a smart consumer, but I will never do business with them again. read more

I hate to write a bad review but I was advised to do so by Verizon on my call in which they refunded me as much as they could and apologized for the lies and bad service I got at the scotts valley store. The Santa Cruz Verizon employees told me they hear so many bad things about the Scotts valley store. I wish I had known. In the past Id had good experiences there. It used to be run by women and they never lied to me. This time I went in asking about flip phones and smart watches for my kids. They changed the subject to pressure me that they were having a promotion to buy one iPhone and get a free iPhone saying that my husband and I should upgrade our phones. I said that sounded pretty good but I came in looking for watches and flip phones for my kids. I'd look into the promotion online They pressured me and said that this was an "in-store only" promotion and "while supplies last" which I later found out was complete lies. They said that they had more supplies than most stores because they're tucked away in Scotts Valley. (Also lies. )They said that they didn't have a gizmo watch in the store but they would have one by that afternoon. It actually took three days to get the watch and I had to come back every day. Each time being told oh it'll be here later today. And it never was...Until the third day. They charged me four secret "set up and go" fees. And when I asked about them they said that those can't be avoided that that's how Verizon works. When I called Verizon they said they've never heard of the set up and go fee. And that this must be something that just that store has made up for its own fees. The dumb thing is they didn't do any set up for my two new iPhones. I just set my old iPhone next to my new iPhone and it downloaded itself. They didn't do anything. And my husbands iPhone we didn't even turn on in the store. I just took it home with me so they didn't do anything to that phone. They also charge me set up and go fees for the gizmo watch they didn't even have in the store and which I had to wait three days to get it. And again they didn't set it up for me. And they set up a Sim card for my sons flip phone but they didn't have a flip phone so I had to go to another Verizon store with that Sim card. This ended up costing me an 40 extra dollars because that card they set up couldn't go straight into a flip phone. It was a complete mess. And so expensive! So many lies. When I called Verizon they were very sorry and they refunded me all the $40 fees that they could. But I still had to go back to the store and complain to the manager (who by the way was one of the people that lied to my face about the promotion.) And he quickly refunded all the $20 "set up and go" fees before I could make a fuss in front of other customers. It was so shady. Do not go to that store. Go to the Santa Cruz Store. they don't do any of that stuff. read more
