Recently upgraded my IPad from three mini to the larger IPad. Received the credit for trading in the mini IPad. Instead of sending it back via UPS I decided to just drop it off in the store. Store is generally easy to get to. Parking was plentiful, especially since I stopped in mid morning on a weekday. As soon as I walked in Ib was greeted by an associate. Explained what I was there for and within 3 minutes I was back out the door with the receipt. read more

To top it off, they would not allow me to leave a packaged phone that required a return at this store. Avoid this and Groton. I was completely satisfied with the help and service I received at this Waterford Verizon. Trevor was great to work with. Answered all my questions. I was there to purchase a new phone. I felt very comfortable there. I went to visit the Verizon Store in Old Saybrook a few months ago just to purchase a charging cord, and I walked out. They made me feel so uncomfortable. Not too good customer service, but they're the only ones around that's an actual store and not an authorized dealer. Once someone decides to help instead of stand around, they do really know their stuff though many times they're a bit pushy when they sell you the extra stuff, I don't think they know what "no" means which I understand as a salesman but it is annoying as the consumer; they really can make someone feel stupid for not buying accessories with them. The last time I was here with just questions and another guy comes with stuff in his hands to buy 10 minutes after me and I got skipped over for the guy. Again I'm not that hard to please but that really stunk. I will come back cause I like dealing with real stores and not the authorized dealers but that's kind of the only reason. If there was another option id take it. read more

The staff at this Verizon are exceptionally kind and courteous. They are so knowledgeable and never have attitudes when asked questions. Manny has been our associate each time we have been to Verizon Since last September. He introduced himself within seconds of my arrival. He had the problem solved in no time and gave me a few pointers to prevent it from happening again. It says a lot for a company when you see the same employees each time you go. He is friendly and personable. All the employees seem to work so well together. Just wanted to say thank you all. This is the best Verizon facility I've ever done business with. I am a senior citizen and recently went to the Verizon store in Waterford with the intention of purchasing a new phone. I arrived 5 minutes before opening time but it was cold and raining and I hoped the 3 or 4 young men inside would let me in. Not only did they not open, but they apparently thought it was so amusing that I was standing at the door that they let me wait a couple of extra minutes. When I mentioned to one that I'd have appreciated being let in out of the rain he laughed and said oh well, we open when we open. I finally met with one of them who was very condescending and totally unhelpful and who kept telling me to go home and dial 611 because they didn't have technical expertise. I need a new phone but I will NEVER go back to that establishment read more

Because of this store, I am no longer a Verizon customer. Let me explain. I am staying at a local campground for the summer and started experiencing signal problems on both mine and my wife's phone. We stopped into this store to see if they could offer any solutions. We were expecting that they would at least take a look at our phones, maybe recommend a booster or something. Instead, we got a male rep who proceeded to tell us that there were certain "dead zone" areas and we were in one. When I asked him if he had any suggestions, he then stated:​ "What do you want me to do, put a cell tower in the campground just for you?" After 20 + years with Verizon, I am now an AT&T customer. read more

I purchased on-line an Apple iPhone 11 Pro on Thursday November 28th and was told I could return the old phone at one of the 'corporate stores'. I received the phone on Monday, December 2nd so I decided to return it at the corporate store (819 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford, CT 06385) for my convenience instead of mailing it. Big mistake. I arrived at approximately 3:00 pm on December 3rd and was put on some sort of list but found that as customers were walking in they were being taken care of before me! I asked the manager (or whatever he was) what was going on and he seemed confused as to why I was bringing the phone in for a return. I explained to him (as I did before) I was told I could return the old phone to one of the 'corporate stores' and that Waterford was one such store. He said not to worry that someone would be right with me. But the customers who walked in after me continued to be served, so I walked out at 3:30 pm. I have never felt so unappreciated and humiliated in my life as a customer. I will never go to this store again as I finally figured out that they will only serve customers who have the potential to make money, and not just returning a phone as I was, even though I just bought one of their most expensive phones. I am a long-term customer and felt I was treated rather rudely. read more

Possibly the easiest, most painless interaction I've ever had with a phone company. I've been a longtime Verizon customer, and when my contract ended, I went in to investigate new options. Was helped within a minute or two by a service rep (sorry dude, didn't catch your name tag) who listened to my concerns, asked intelligent questions about my usage patterns, and suggested an economical plan that will actually save me close to $200/year. Not sure how well this fits Verizon's business model, but from a customer service standpoint, I'm impressed. read more

I'm new to Verizon Wireless and am very happy so far. I called the store first & rec'd all the information I needed to feel comfortable making the trip to the store to look at phones for the plan I needed. I rec'd friendly & quick service at the store. (I forgot her name) one of the managers was extremely helpful in helping me decide on a phone by showing me the different features of the two I was deciding between. She answered all of my questions. Andrew the sales person as extremely polite & helpful when it came time to actually purchase my plan & phone. He was very thorough. It was a very smooth & painless shopping experience. Even though before a staff was really nice, this time I went in to get help in my phone a credit card payment wasn't going through, this person really didn't ask but just took my phone while I was showing it and my credit card. Then closed all my recent apps, while I was working on one. Also she was going through my phone's apps. I kind of felt like the sales person because I couldn't hold my phone. read more
