Worst customer service--I will never go back to this store. I've been a Verizon customer for over 20 years and have never experienced anything like this. I ordered a new phone online through Verizon and had trouble setting it up, so I made an appointment at this store for help. From the moment I walked in, I felt uncomfortable. Four employees were just sitting around, and not one greeted me. It felt like my presence was a burden. I explained that I had an appointment and needed help setting up my phone. One of them immediately asked if I bought it through Apple. I said no--it was through Verizon--and that I just needed a little help. I mentioned I had already tried using Verizon's online chat but was still having issues. They told me I needed a PIN, which I had never set up. I told them I was logged into my account, but they insisted they couldn't help unless I called a number to set it up. The person "helping" me wouldn't even listen or offer any real assistance. Then another employee jumped in and was extremely rude, telling me I needed to listen because they were the experts. I left the store in tears. When I got home, I called Verizon's helpline, and a kind representative walked me through setting up my PIN in minutes--something the store staff could have easily done if they had any sense of customer service. I will never go back to this location. I wish I had read the other reviews first--it would have saved me the frustration and wasted time. Clearly the owner doesn't care if you see their responses to all of the negative reviews and nothing has changed. Do better. read more

Terrible customer service. I was just in there with my girlfriend, and Yaquelin was being incredibly rude and belittling to us. She was reviewing quotes with us, and she said "instead of just looking at me, you can look at the quote" and pushed the paper towards my girlfriend, knocking them off the counter. I also expressed confusion and asked why her numbers she was writing down did not match the numbers on the quote, and she seemed to get angry when asked. I certainly will never be going back to this location, and I suggest that no one else does either. read more

I was in this store, called the number, watched 3 employees hover around the phone and discuss whether or not to answer the phone. Watched as they decided not to answer the phone. One star, and let me tell you why. Went in last week to set up a cell phone plan. Had own phone, needed prepaid plan. After doing the phone stuff we paid with a $100 bill, and the total was like $83.30, something like that. The young girl helping us was like, we don't have change. Is $16 only back okay ? I said no it's not. Why ? To which she said we don't keep change cause of Covid... I was like, "covid" was years ago, stop using that excuse . " I said, why don't you give me back $17 and you be short .30 cents rather than shorting your customer. And she had the audacity to say, "that would make our drawer short." To which I said, well shorting me will make my drawer short just the same. You're the billion dollar company. U can take the hit. Why should I ? As a fellow business owner, I would short myself if I couldn't give proper change in a heartbeat without even thinking about it rather than not treat a customer properly. Purchased iPhone had to stay with Verizon till it was paid off during which time I was constantly overcharged. January 2025 I finally paid in full and was able to switch to another provider. However during this process Verizon overcharged me again! I have contacted them weekly, which is not easy to get through to Verizon. I have received many promises and Reference # confirming this issue which go nowhere since I never hear back nor have they returned the money they have stolen from me!! Antonio at the Verizon store on state was so helpful! My husband had lost his phone and we were in need of a replacement. We being insured, needed help with the process of getting his phone replaced. The initial person who helped, didn't help at all. Just gave us a phone number and essentially walked away. Instead he tried to sell us an added line in place of helping us. Once he saw we weren't interested, he pretty much tossed us a number and walked away. We left frustrated. Getting through to the insurance was a nightmare. We unfortunately had to return for help and I dreaded this until we ran into Antonio. He walked us through the whole process, called the insurance through Verizon and waited to get us connected! It didn't take long at all! Maybe like 15 minutes. We received the placement that very day, delivered directly to our home! It saddened me that this could have been done initially. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I've been into the store three times in the last week and have received nothing but attitude and cold unwelcoming experiences. The two days that have been the worst have been 08/16/24 ~ 2:20pm and 08/17/24 ~2:10pm with Marissa and the other younger Latin woman. They were both extremely cold, rude, unhelpful, full of attitude and disrespectful. It seemed as if they were trying to give me as much attitude as possible and to both be as unhelpful as possible so that I would leave the store. EXTREMELY weird and uncomfortable experiences as I'm sure you can imagine. I've worked in customer service myself and I can tell you that these experiences make a customer re-think continuing further business. I've been a customer of Verizon since 2006/07 and I've never had an experience like the ones I've had recently at this store. Place has like 7 workers at all times on the floor but yet they don't verbalize anything to you when you're switching out phones. They don't tell you if you're on a "waitlist" like they just now told me in person the second time in a week. And they definitely don't check back in with you. They assume everyone knows how to setup a phone or swipe a phone. Then they try to joke and make you look dumb when they EVENTUALLY help you in what to do. Came here last week, spent at least 2 hours. Came back today and spent another 30 min. at least. Check in with your customers. Setting up a new phone is not easy. It's crazy how this GUY with a tablet is checking people in then he runs to the back to hide... Arrived to buy an Apple Watch for my wife for Valentine's Day. I was greeted and put in line for the next available employee. I was told 30 min as there were only 3 people ahead of me. I have no problem waiting. About 45 min had gone by as I watched people come in after me get helped. At this point I waited to see how long it would be before someone asked if I have been helped or acknowledged me. I was finally helped after waiting for 1 hour and 40 min. An employee by the name Ikram helped me. He was apologetic for the wait even though it wasn't his fault. He helped me with what I need and answered all my questions. VERIZON MANAGERS AND SUPERVISORS - Do a better job or come up with a way to help the people who show up first. I understand you have appointments but no one should have to wait over 1hour and 30min. Especially when there are more employees present than customers. read more

I picked this location because it had better reviews than the Verizon store in Goleta. But my experience was not a good one, anyway. The young man who helped me never told me about my iPhone options so I ended up with a model I didn't really want and had to go back the following week. Not only was I charged a $50 restocking fee, but I had to wait over an hour for service the second time. On the other hand, the second person who helped me seemed more knowledgeable and was patient and kind and got me set up. Obviously do not care about customers. I have been dealing with Verizon trying to get on a family plan for over a month, have been to multiple locations and due to the incompetence of the employees, I have not been able to join. Today was the last straw. Yesterday, at this specific location, the associate said they don't have time to see me but come in tomorrow morning and we can definitely help you out. Went in this morning and a different associate said I could not be helped today at all, and on top of it all gave me attitude. All of the associates I have spoken to have contradicted each other. And every time I've been at each Verizon location, there are other unhappy and disgruntled customers. Their system is almost always "down." The people in the stores don't have the correct information about services. They inputted our address wrong twice. I have spent hours on the phone with Verizon (mostly on hold) and no one has been able to help me simply get on the family plan. I am choosing to keep T Mobile and have no service over continuing to try to switch over. Incompetent and rude workers all around. No organization or communication. read more

I went into this store a few days ago to have my phone either fixed or replaced. The battery in my phone had suddenly died after only being 1.5 years old. When I went into the store, I was swiftly prompted to sit at a desk and call the phone insurance claim company MYSELF. I literally called a 1-800 or 1-888 number and went through the entire claim process myself with someone unrelated to Verizon on the phone. The whole process took 30 minutes of being hitting numbers. (ex. hit 1 for...etc.) I am not sure why as a 10+ year Verizon customer I am needing to speak to Assure insurance claims myself? I miss the good ol' days where you would walk in and a representative would handle everything - how customer service should be. I didn't even need to go to the Verizon store at all. I could've called the number from work/home. I wasted time going to the store only to be sat at a desk and told to use their phone with the insurance customer service number. After encountering a crappy experience from a competitor "authorized dealer" VZW store, I was glad to have come here. Don't be fooled by the other Verizon stores in town. They are all authorized dealers and not the real deal. This particular location is the only truly legit Verizon in Santa Barbara. Skip the other guys and come straight to the source. I came in prepared and knew exactly what I wanted. Upon walking in through the doors, I was greeted right away, and in a matter of moments, a representative came to assist me. My rep, Miguel, was great. He was knowledgeable, not pushy/gimmicky, and made me feel valued as a customer. I ended up purchasing an iPhone XR, and the process was rather quick and easy. Miguel did a wonderful job answering my billing-related questions and really put my mind at ease for having made such a large purchase. Thanks, Miguel and team! If this is true, this is the most stupid policy I have seen. I lost my Sim Card and I came here to get it from Verizon. I showed my ID, I logged into my family online account via internet in front of the service person which shows all my family members, I waked up my wife at 2:00 am who is in Asia and my wife talked with the service person...After all these efforts, the service lady said she still cannot give me my Sim Card because I am not the account mgr. I am very disappointed as a 5-year Verizon customer with my whole family paying more than $200 per month. The service lady enjoys saying NO rather than find a solution to help.
