We were happy that they could accommodate us in the middle of the week with late notice. Our usual waitress Kelly was not there. Walter and Chris happily greeted us and Chris helped us with our dinner. The Chianti was well balanced and a good portion. Grilled calamari steak was carefully charred with zesty lemon and a medditerian salad. Ambiance is always comfy and sheek. Chilean sea bass is one of my favorites and chef executed it perfectly. It was fresh, mild, flaky and seasoned truffle oil made it succulent. I absolutely love the brussel sprouts here! The texture and taste is an earthy savory. The Panna cotta is my new favorite dessert amd I am happy to hear the various flavor options. The crystalized maple was autumn in a dessert mold. Everything from the parking to the service to the food was a good experience. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and he ensured we had a good experience for a good friend birthday experience. The Shrimp Michaelada was exquisitely tasteful. The Dominico and Porterhouse steaks was amazing. Please ensure you get the Truffle Butter for the steaks. You will never go wrong. As for the ambiance, it was very classy and warm vibes. Now be mindful there is lime parking but we got a side street parking spot right in front of the place. We will be back! Steaks We had been wanting to try this place for a while now. Two previous attempts were thwarted by the Sunrise dinner crowd so I finally had the sense to make a reservation instead of just strolling in. We were there just after they opened their new back room dining area which appears to have been appropriated from Casa Pasta (which is attached). The room itself was somewhat of a different vibe from the main seating area and definitely a bit more intimate. Server was with us in short order and we had a quick chat and got some drinks ordered. I was looking at the wine by the glass selection and for a steakhouse, the selection was pretty minimal. I tried a cabernet based on the waiter recommendation and it was just ok - later, I went with the other option and it was better but again, for a steakhouse, I was somewhat surprised by the limited reds by the glass. Starters were pretty well represented with a nice selection of both usual and unusual suspects. We ended up with the filet fondue as that seemed quite different to us (we shared) and a French onion soup for me. The fondue dish was definitely good and as noted, not something you see every day. French onion soup was fine - nothing special but not $14 good. Mains were the Delmonico (w au poivre sauce) and I believe my wife was about to order the Salmon, but at the last second went with one of the specials that night. A side of the fig / balsamic Brussels sprouts and roasted wild mushrooms rounded out the meal. Steak was cooked to the right doneness and the no complaints from the other side of the table. Brussels were different but good- we were afraid they might be too sweet with the syrupy balsamic but it worked out. Mushrooms were meh - not well roasted at all, more like a quick swish through a sauté pan. Overall, a good experience with the mains - sides were 50/50. Service was good - they were there just enough with water refills and check-ins and we ultimately passed on dessert as we were full by then. Worth a trip as they are relatively local. Parking can be rough if there is a show in the nearby Sunrise theater. read more

My boyfriend and I went to The Fort last night for a light dinner, and it was extraordinary. We had dirty oysters, raw oysters on the half shell, and the filet fappetizer. Everything tasted beyond what a meager attempt at a description of "fantastic" could do. I don't really eat much steak because I'm extremely particular, but I think I have talked about this meal for almost 24 hours straight. My steak was good perfectly, Pittsburgh style, however it needed some seasoning . The baked potato was great. Had onion soup baked perfectly, a nice layer of cheese ,however lacking flavor needed Worcestershire to add some flavor. The place is narrow and noisy. I like to take my time but it was about 40 minutes between appetizer and main meal. The owner and waiter tried to appease the person I was there with, but there are some people that it's impossible to do. They took back his salad cause the Stilton cheese was too sharp, they took his soup off, they even took his steak off. Even though I thought it was cooked perfectly. read more

The whole experience was good, no complaints. The vibe is that of a trendy steakhouse, not too dark, with bright bold murals and pictures. We weren't super hungry so no appetizer or dessert. My wife got the 16oz Delmonico, medium rare. It came out cooked perfectly with great flavor and just the right amount of marbling. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon with a Boursin Cheese topping over a Quinoa blend. It was cooked well, but I saw no sign of it being Pan Seared, more like roasted. And it lacked flavor and was maybe a 5oz piece, which for $38.00, even in this crazy inflationary market is pricey. All good! The Fort is definitely a place worth trying, though you'll want to budget accordingly to truly indulge in all the tasty options across the menus. We've been before, and enjoyed it, but reserved a courtyard table this time around to celebrate our 27-year anniversary. John was our server, and about 40 minutes into our time in the quaint, lush, gently-lit courtyard the only other patrons finished and left. This allowed us the majority of our time with the entire area to ourselves - we couldn't have planned it better. As a native to the area, and 8th generation Floridian, there's a lot of history in this building on the walls and in the halls. Artwork from one of the sons of of Bud Adams featuring the Patriarch, and gorgeous shots of his famous Braford cattle and his cowboys working hard to tend to them and the beautiful land they've held dearly for years. This former bank turned Retail restaurant has done a great job of keeping the bones of the building while transforming the space into what seems like a high-end hideaway in the middle of downtown Fort Pierce. As a little girl coming down here to being here now is a world apart, and I'm so glad to see my hometown thriving. Everything we had was impeccably seasoned, cooked, and the service was top-notch. The hostess, and other staff were warm, friendly, courteous and helpful. We split the Tomahawk Steak and it was perfectly a Medium Rare towards Medium as requested. They offered to pre-slice it, and the presentation along with the lobster tail and drawn butter was well-done. The grilled calamari steak was an appetizer special, and was thinly sliced, and seasoned with a light lemon sauce and was so tender and delicious, it was accompanied with a geek salad including olives and grilled artichoke hearts which was a good balance to the squid. The wedge salad was so tasty with a tangy (not sweet) dressing and fresh bacon and tomatoes; I requested some red onion which they had available pickled which was a surprisingly tasty twist that I'll have to try again. The French Onion soup must be made with the richest, freshest beef broth, and the cheese was melted and gooey and the perfect complement to the deep flavor of the caramelized onion broth and the softened bread floating in every bite. We shared the baked potato which was huge and drenched in a cheesy sauce with bacon and was full of flavor. The steak was truly delectable - my husband enjoyed the bits left on the bone and kindly saved the rest for our dog for later. The outside was flavorfully seasoned, with crispy fat, and such a glistening sheen throughout each slice you knew it was beautifully marbled without seeing it before it was cooked. We didn't save room for dessert, but the offerings all gave us pause - maybe next time. With cocktails, and a 30% tip it was about $350, but the experience we had felt like we were somewhere afar dining in a cozy nook with light music, and a water fall in the background, and was truly priceless. The staff were perfectly attentive and engaging, and otherwise offered us privacy to enjoy reminiscing on our years thus far, and reflecting on all which lies ahead. We highly recommend and will be back once we save up for another splurge. read more

Fort Pierce - 4.5*: We recently had dinner before a show at the Sunrise theater across the street. Food quality and preparation were very good. The delmonico and NY strip steaks and lamb shank were very good and prepared just as requested. Their shrimp cocktail of 4 very jumbo shrimps was excellent as was the homemade bread available upon request. Decent wine list although a bit light on the French wine options. Our server, Pam, was great: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and efficient. A small but very inviting bar was also available. Street parking available or large garage up the street. So I debated between 2 & 3 stars because of the food. The atmosphere was good & our server was nice, but I can't eat those. The food was very much lacking. We got the Shrimp Scampi, which fell flat. The Salmon was also lacking. It seemed to have seasoning but tasted very blan. The little bit of garnish/mixed vegetables was ok & the green sauce on top should have been left off along with the fired onions. Now the chicken was juicy & the little bit of sauce on it was delicious. However the Cream Corn Souffle was nasty & also should have been left off. They can actually take it off the menu in my opinion. I thought I was about to eat a really creamy mash potato was very disappointed. I was excited to go & for the food but was disappointed because everything packed flavor. I wanted to go back & try there partner restaurant The Fort Social but we'll see. read more

We came with a large group of 6. With a reservation we were seating immediately and warmly. The location is welcoming although it can be described as small. The tables are a bit close together but it wasn't uncomfortable. The menu was expansive with a wide variety of options. They also has a special 4-course menu that gives a lot of bang for your buck. We ordered the escargot and tomato soup for appetizer. I loved the fact that they paired the escargot with a piece of brie and toast. Would have never thought that the two were a good combination. It was fantastic. As a main course we ordered the Dominico, the stroganoff, the filet mignon, and the pork chop. Everything was amazing. We had high expectations for this restaurant and it was definitely exceeded. For a steakhouse, the prices were about what you would expect. The waitstaff was attentive and very helpful. Went to The Fort for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday on 5/23/25. Read a lot of good reviews thought we'd give it a try, we are long time Ruth Chris fans and would be a lot closer for us than Jupiter. The staff were very friendly, ambience small but designed to be a steak house, and very quiet. Wine by the glass is very limited, my wife ordered a Chardonnay, I had a vodka martini with olives. The Chardonnay had obviously gone bad just by the color then the taste. We didn't say anything, didn't want to start the night as complainers. Our server was very nice, explained all the specials and the meat aging process. We ordered the porterhouse medium rare, baked potato and mushrooms, all to share. Our dinner arrived at a comfortable pace, our server explained the three gourmet salts and I asked for a glass of Chianti. At first glance of the steak it just had no appeal, it was about 1/2 inch thick, no char, no spice no smell of cooked prime beef. It was a limp, very thin, tasteless piece of meat. It was actually cook to medium rare but absolutely failed the taste test. I get it, you could only cook the steak for a few minutes or it would be well done. I'm sorry Ruth Chris porterhouse for two should be something you achieve. It was a good try but south we will travel for our special night steak. read more

Don't go! Came here while on weekend getaway thinking we would get a quality, NYC like steak house... boy, we're we wrong! Had the wedge salad that was served with brown, wilted iceberg lettuce, escargot that was bland and rubbery as appetizers. The shrimp scampi entree smelled like tuna fish, and the braised short ribs were caked in what looked like a brown packaged gravy served with what tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Also- if you are going to price your steaks that high, COOK THEM PROPERLY!! Our 8oz filet mignons were not only over done (request was medium rare) but they were terribly dry. Wildly disappointed in what should have been a nice night out with our family. The one star is for the manager who came to our table, apologized and adjusted the check to reflect our complaints. We have been members and attending the Sunrise Theater for 20 years now and were so happy to see a high-quality fine dining restaurant establishment such as 'The Fort Steakhouse' right across the street. We live in Vero Beach and the first time we visited was on Jan 24, we loved it and look forward to our next visit. A big shout out to Walter Roeder, the GM who made us feel right at home while giving us his personal attention. I will say, from the hostess that greeted at the door, to the wonderful server that brought us water EVERY TIME we drank water, to the manager RE-folding our napkins when we went to the bathroom, it was far and above anything anyone could have expected!!! If you want a beautifully cooked piece of beef and a very nice ambiance, I would really recommend The Braford Steakhouse.
