Everything from the parking to the service to the food was a good experience. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and he ensured we had a good experience for a good friend birthday experience. The Shrimp Michaelada was exquisitely tasteful. The Dominico and Porterhouse steaks was amazing. Please ensure you get the Truffle Butter for the steaks. You will never go wrong. As for the ambiance, it was very classy and warm vibes. Now be mindful there is lime parking but we got a side street parking spot right in front of the place. We will be back! Shout out to Chris who was an amazing waiter! Ask for him when you come in.

FANTASTIC experience today at The Fort! Everything was top notch. From our checking experience, to our greeting, our server, and everyone who helped bus our dirties, everyone and everything was awesome. They even acted on my fiancé's birthday note I put on the reservation. Our server Chris made our night with excellent suggestions and top notch service. We can't wait to return!

    Dirty Oysters

My boyfriend and I went to The Fort last night for a light dinner, and it was extraordinary. We had dirty oysters, raw oysters on the half shell, and the filet fappetizer. Everything tasted beyond what a meager attempt at a description of "fantastic" could do. I don't really eat much steak because I'm extremely particular, but I think I have talked about this meal for almost 24 hours straight. This is a must on your list of places to try in Saint Lucie County!

Ambience was phenomenal, nice and quiet! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the most fabulous margaritas and lobster Mac and cheese while Walter (manager) graced me with phenomenal conversation. Can not wait to visit again.

The whole experience was good, no complaints. The vibe is that of a trendy steakhouse, not too dark, with bright bold murals and pictures. We weren't super hungry so no appetizer or dessert. My wife got the 16oz Delmonico, medium rare. It came out cooked perfectly with great flavor and just the right amount of marbling. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon with a Boursin Cheese topping over a Quinoa blend. It was cooked well, but I saw no sign of it being Pan Seared, more like roasted. And it lacked flavor and was maybe a 5oz piece, which for $38.00, even in this crazy inflationary market is pricey. All good! We try and always support the local restaurants in our city and wish them continued success.

Food was very good and cooked to requested temperature. Service was attentive and friendly. Even the manager stopped by our table to ask how everything was and chat a few minutes. He was very personable. Very dimly lit to the point I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu and a bit chilly if seated under an a/c vent. Overall we enjoyed our visit and meal.

Orchids, succulents, and jasmine vines everywhere - definitely makes us both happy.

The Fort is definitely a place worth trying, though you'll want to budget accordingly to truly indulge in all the tasty options across the menus. We've been before, and enjoyed it, but reserved a courtyard table this time around to celebrate our 27-year anniversary. John was our server, and about 40 minutes into our time in the quaint, lush, gently-lit courtyard the only other patrons finished and left. This allowed us the majority of our time with the entire area to ourselves - we couldn't have planned it better. As a native to the area, and 8th generation Floridian, there's a lot of history in this building on the walls and in the halls. Artwork from one of the sons of of Bud Adams featuring the Patriarch, and gorgeous shots of his famous Braford cattle and his cowboys working hard to tend to them and the beautiful land they've held dearly for years. This former bank turned Retail restaurant has done a great job of keeping the bones of the building while transforming the space into what seems like a high-end hideaway in the middle of downtown Fort Pierce. As a little girl coming down here to being here now is a world apart, and I'm so glad to see my hometown thriving. Everything we had was impeccably seasoned, cooked, and the service was top-notch. The hostess, and other staff were warm, friendly, courteous and helpful. We split the Tomahawk Steak and it was perfectly a Medium Rare towards Medium as requested. They offered to pre-slice it, and the presentation along with the lobster tail and drawn butter was well-done. The grilled calamari steak was an appetizer special, and was thinly sliced, and seasoned with a light lemon sauce and was so tender and delicious, it was accompanied with a geek salad including olives and grilled artichoke hearts which was a good balance to the squid. The wedge salad was so tasty with a tangy (not sweet) dressing and fresh bacon and tomatoes; I requested some red onion which they had available pickled which was a surprisingly tasty twist that I'll have to try again. The French Onion soup must be made with the richest, freshest beef broth, and the cheese was melted and gooey and the perfect complement to the deep flavor of the caramelized onion broth and the softened bread floating in every bite. We shared the baked potato which was huge and drenched in a cheesy sauce with bacon and was full of flavor. The steak was truly delectable - my husband enjoyed the bits left on the bone and kindly saved the rest for our dog for later. The outside was flavorfully seasoned, with crispy fat, and such a glistening sheen throughout each slice you knew it was beautifully marbled without seeing it before it was cooked. We didn't save room for dessert, but the offerings all gave us pause - maybe next time. With cocktails, and a 30% tip it was about $350, but the experience we had felt like we were somewhere afar dining in a cozy nook with light music, and a water fall in the background, and was truly priceless. The staff were perfectly attentive and engaging, and otherwise offered us privacy to enjoy reminiscing on our years thus far, and reflecting on all which lies ahead. We highly recommend and will be back once we save up for another splurge.

We tried to go here 1st but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays This is one of those, should have asked for the price first moments. But it's just a sandwich right, so we didn't. Well when they brought our to go order and we realized it the sandwich was $22.00 was certainly a bit surprised. And they just assumed we would pay with a card; which we didn't do tacked on a 3% service fee, ok. We still were hopeful that it would still be worth it but when we got home we were not impressed by the amount of pastrami at all. The FLAVOR was very good but scores low on the value category. You would pay the same price at the legendary Katz Deli in NYC, BUT the difference is Katz literally loads nearly a pound of pastrami on each sandwich. But the major complaint is the service. The wait staff are a bit impatient and always have this I haven't had a cigarette in an hour so can you hurry up expression. As well a pushy. Totally get up selling as I got a Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, but it's done in a far less polished manner. But the food flavor has always been excellent, just a bit pricey, even in this higher inflation time.

Weatherford wood walls, outside tables under an awning. Inside tables are also available, although, why anyone would choose an inside table when you have a front row seat to the ocean is beyond me. Interestingly,, they have a few swing tables that you can rock back-and-forth while you eat. Not sure how many people will choose those "moving'" tables but, they're an interesting idea nonetheless. Service: I was provided with my choice of table. (I chose the swinging tables (I just had to try The experience of swinging while eating - which was actually pretty pleasant).I was seated immediately upon my arrival. My server whose name was Cynthia whose name tag said Helga (don't ask) served me quickly and with a smile. She came by several times to check on my needs but was never an overpowering presence. Couldn't ask for anything more with a server. Be warned, (which my server by the way did warn me about.), They charge an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill. Normally, once we cross the bridge, we just head straight down the road toward the beach and find somewhere to park from there. This place is a little closer to the bridge, so it's not somewhere I would normally walk to or randomly stop at. They do have their own parking lot, which is convenient. We were a little confused about where the entrance was at first. We ended up going around the back, where the boats were passing by, walking past a little tiki hut, and then heading up the stairs. Once we got upstairs, it was a fairly small space with a decent-sized bar. It definitely gave me more of a local hangout vibe than a touristy spot, which I actually liked. Our waitress was super nice, and we had a great little corner spot with some really nice views. The menu had a pretty good selection, but we were just looking for a small appetizer to share. We decided on the 10 wings, but couldn't decide which sauce to get. Thankfully, our waitress told us we could split them, so we did half Thai chili and half buffalo. She said they would toss each half in its own sauce, which sounded perfect. Unfortunately, when the wings came out, I could barely tell which ones were supposed to be Thai chili and which were buffalo. It honestly looked like they had run out of sauce and just used whatever tiny amount was left in the container. I have NEVER received wings with so little sauce before! Usually, when you get sauced wings, you can actually see the sauce coating them and maybe even a little bit of it dripping off. These were basically dry with a light glaze of sauce. We both had a side of ranch with our wings, but it just felt like it was overpowering the little sauce that was covered with the wings. I could've said something, but my nephew didn't want to make a big deal about it, so we just ate them. To be fair, the wings themselves were good, but why serve wings with the absolute bare minimum of sauce? Next time, I'd definitely ask for EXTRA sauce and probably get some on the side. I prefer my wings well coated--I want more than a tablespoon of sauce for 10 wings! Overall, I liked the atmosphere, our waitress was great, and the location had some really nice views. The wings just needed WAY more sauce!

Everything came out fresh and well-prepared. Drinks were cold and refreshing, perfect for enjoying while watching the sunset over the water. What really adds to the experience is the live entertainment. On weekends, they have bands playing that bring that laid-back, Florida-chilled atmosphere to life without overwhelming the vibe. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even better. This is more than just a place to eat--it's a full waterfront dining experience. He had it for a while, God only knows what data base I'm now part of, but hey, great reviews, let's go. The guard gave my license back as well as a parking permit. Asked about the restaurant, he said drive to the stop sign and turn left. There's a row of shops and a Sauders sign. Did get a tiny bit confusing...none of the storefronts was Sauders. There was a dingy looking alley opening...found them. Walking down this dingy alley (there were three old window a/c units running up high, I mean old, tired, dirty and all three are dripping water into buckets below them on the concrete). We get to a tired residential screen door and that is the entrance. We were greeted right away. Said two for dinner. The hostess asked if we had reservations...we said no. We asked to sit inside. This is not the restaurants fault, but the marina is under construction, there are no docks or boats outside the windows, just rebar and dirt, however the windows and screens were dirty. There are dive bars and old restaurants with charm, Sauders is neither. Inside it just looks very tired and extremely dated You know how Restaurant Impossible or Bar Rescue showes usually start, with John Tapper and Robert Irving having a lot to say. They would have a lot to say at Sauder's. Carolyn, our server, lived up to the reviews that mention her. She was prompt, knew all the specials and did a good job throughout our meal. We ordered some Calemari. The batter was falling off, so if you tried to pick up a piece, you basically had a piece of squid. The marinara sauce was hot and had a good flavor. We had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. There were plenty of shrimp. Tha pasta was spaghetti, not linguine, but cooked properly. Could have had a little more sauce but tasted OK. The meal came with a salad. Everything was fresh, cold and crisp. Carolyn informed us the thousand island was made at the restaurant and it was OK. Summary...the food was ok, the dining room was tired, oh yeah, the rest rooms were behind doors rusting under their paint in that dingy alley and my wife said the one she went into was not nice. I honestly don't know how you could give this a 4 or 5 rating. If I knew what we were going to experience, I'd never give my driver's license to that guard and we would find another of the many seafood places in town. Sorry Sauder's, you need to make an investment in your business.
