Short rib lasagna
Ryan G.

Vero Prime is in the "downtown" area of Vero Beach and easy to find. We made reservations, but didn't need to (plenty of open tables). The restaurant is pretty dim on the inside due to low-lighting combined with a dark color scheme. The staff was very friendly, and our server was fantastic; knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the short rib "lasagna", but wasn't what I was expecting from a lasagna perspective. It could just be me, but I think of a traditional multi-layer stack. It wasn't bad though. My lady ordered the filet and it was cooked as ordered. The menu selection was a bit odd in that there were three different entree menus. I'm not sure if that's normal there or not. In any event, we didn't have a bad experience, my expectations are just very high any time there is a similar price point and the word prime is in the name.

Vero Prime is a good restaurant with good food and service. The steaks were cooked to temperature and were flavorful. The sides were good but were served in a very small portion for the price charged. The wedge salad was also good but the wedge was about an eighth of a small head of lettuce. The decor is dated. Overall, ratio between what was served and what was charged was skewed. It's worth a try but after you have gone to the others that you've been curious about.

Wonderful way to celebrate 50th birthday! Delicious menu. My sister had the shrimp scampi loved it. My guy had the filet was great and I had the special house steak, different but very good. Our waiter Eric was excellent. He was accommodating, funny and a stupendous waiter. Love the pepper shaker!

I ordered Mahi with potatoes and creamy spinach. Everything was delicious except my partner's rice tasted terrible. It appeared that it was cooked with water that had a funky taste to it. They should taste the food that's coming out to the customers. The menu is very pricy. Expect to pay $250 for two people. They also have a cute gift shop... very pricy as well. A T-shirt costs $28. A chime that we saw there was $65 - we found the same chime on Amazon for $25. I did end up buying a small gift for my daughter.

It's such a beautiful spot, especially during the holidays when they really go all out with the decorations. The ambiance is hard to beat, and the view alone makes it worth the visit. The food is consistently delicious and well-prepared, although it is definitely on the pricier side. It feels more like a place for a special night out than an everyday dinner. On our most recent visit, the only downside (besides the prices) was that there was a very long wait time to get our food. Still, the setting and overall experience was positive so I wouldn't be against another visit.

I knew the food was going to be good because they were jam packed on a Tuesday! They have a large variety of specialty cocktails and a full bar. I enjoyed a specialty drink and then switched to prosecco. My server, Sarah, was outstanding and provided top notch service. They start you off with a yummy sweet cornbread service. I ate too much of the bread! For my meal, I started with the steak tartare and it was excellent, high quality beef. I then moved onto the chargrilled oysters which were a 1000/10! Amazing flavor... the blend of the butter and 3 cheeses was perfect! I then had the best pork chop I've ever eaten in my life. They brine it for 24 hours in a sweet tea mixture... I was thinking that would taste weird or sweet but it was neither. The chop was simply the most divine, juicy and flavorful pork chop I have ever consumed. Words can't express the deliciousness! It was 10000000/10. The chop was paired with the best grits I've ever had. I take grits seriously as a southern woman and those were magnificent. Restaurant was very clean. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The manager worked the room all night attending to guests and making sure everyone was happy. I highly recommend and will absolutely be back!!

The beet salad was refreshing. The lettuce was a little wilted but not terrible. The rock shrimp pasta was flavorful and the seafood was very tender. Came with a big portion of pasta that I requested on the side. My maple duck breast was amazing. Big piece with crispy skin and juicy meat. The seasoning was right. The mashed potatoes were smooth and fluffy. It also came with a small order of bread and the cornbread pieces were great. I'm sure the dine in experience would've made everything even better.

Service: we sat for almost 15 minutes before our waiter came over to us. It was not that busy as it was a later reservation. We almost walked out, and it's a shame we didn't. They had a turkey dinner special for $48. It came with some turkey meat, some dry stuffing, haricot verts and potato. I asked for baked potato instead of mashed, which they seemed to do begrudgingly. Nothing was hot, despite a long wait for the meal. Finally at the end, can you believe there was no pumpkin pie for dessert? I rarely eat dessert, but this is Thanksgiving! This meal made me sad I was not in my kitchen cooking. There was nothing festive about it. Nothing to make it a holiday feel. We both have no desire to eat here again.

We started off with the warm water lobster martini which I thought was tasty, but my friend wasn't impressed with it. Then a cesar royale, which had delicious white anchovies. I couldn't help but add the lobster mac and cheese, along with the crispy brussels and bacon vinaigrette as sides. Unfortunately, we had to send the brussels back as we found the bacon vinaigrette overpowering. Overall, the restaurant is the perfect location for a special occasion with a patio that overlooks the marina which would make a beautiful setting for sunset dining.

After a long day of preparation for Easter for 3 daughters we needed a moment for us, before the next days celebration. We had the back room to ourselves and it was just perfect. I just had to say, my husband loves to cook for me, especially short ribs and a beautiful brown sauce and he is amazing at it. Well, this blew him and I both away. Also, the skewers were something out of this world. There is an article about them in Vero Mag. This place is a secret we want to keep to ourselves but a place with this much talent is meant to be celebrated. Ohhh and the Short Rib Rangoons! Strangely we tried to go to a nearby restaurant that closed at 2 pm for lunch. The hostess there recommended Bobbie's and as they say a person in the trade recommending somewhere is a good sign. Apparently famous for French dip - I tried it and nothing special but ok and hit the spot. My wife had blackened Salmon which was large and she could not stop overeating it. They are also renown for fresh fish so not surprisingly the Salmon was first class. Separately there is a bar that was full but strangely they had no fraught beer available in the restaurant. The service felt more like a cafeteria or diner than a restaurant with these prices. It wasn't very friendly or welcoming, and for what you're paying, I expected a much better dining experience. One thing that stood out was that we were never told about any specials, yet we overheard our server explaining them to another table nearby. That made us feel overlooked. The décor also felt very outdated, with a 1970s atmosphere that just wasn't appealing to me. I understand some people enjoy a nostalgic vibe, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I'm glad we gave it a try because the prime rib was very good, but overall the experience wasn't enough to bring us back.
