REAL BAD EXPERIENCE TONIGHT. I had dinner with family and out of town friends at the restaurant and then we went to the bakery. The bakery closes at 1 AM. At exactly 1 AM, the manager Leticia, stood by the table we were seating and announced loudly while holding a tray in Spanish: "We are closed now. Can I clear your table". I was shocked in disbelief. This had never ever happened to me before. She was extremely rude. Not the kind of people that should work with the public. She spoiled the night for everyone. read more

Don't read anything else about how other places have the best Cuban in Miami. This is the place!!!! To go or to stay it's going to be so good. And while you're at it, save room and go next door to the bakery and enjoy one of the best espresso's around. Although I became a nervous wreck when I realized I was on the opposite end of a major language barrier, I muddled through my order and was able to get some of the best coffee I will ever have in my life. I had a cafe con leche and then took a cortadito to go. So good. The only downfall is the key lime pie was a little off, it is a meringue top, which was different than what I would have liked. Some of the best pastries I've ever had can be found here. The thick caramel topping they use on many of the desserts here is to die for, rich and delicious! I bought five pastries and the bill only came to $12 and change, what a bargain, considering they are freshly made and quite large. We came here twice during our vacation. The food is good and the prices are hard to beat. Service is hit and miss due to how busy they are and that most speak Spanish only. Be prepared to wait after you take a ticket but don't doze off or they will skip right by you. We really enjoyed the tres leches, flan and empanadas. The cuban sandwich, eclair has room for improvement. They have a parking lot but it gets full. This place is a good alternative to their busy restaurant especially if you have a sweet tooth. If I spoke Spanish, they would have gotten a 5 star. read more

I began my afternoon at the edge of Calle Ocho - 8th Street at 2nd Ave on a trek to find Versailles Bakery. After walking about 30 blocks through Little Havana and taking in the feel of a true sense of community amongst the Cubans I arrived at Versailles Bakery. This place is a local institution. The clientele is predominantly Cuban and the language here is Spanish. Excellent selection of Cuban pastries, desserts and sweets. I really didn't know where to start. I asked for a recommendation and ended up with a Cuban take on the Apple Pie and a Sweet Pineapple Tart - both were delicious. To drink I had a Cuban Coffee - espresso, sugar, splash of milk. This place was well worth the walk. It was easy to tell that Versailles was a beacon to its community. Smiles all around as people came in and stood at the counter to throw down a quick coffee before returning to work or their day's affairs. Older Cuban's chatting away over sweets. A must visit if you are in Miami. read more

Never been to the bakery side so decided to try them out. Apparently the whole company has become a big tourist trap. So I would definitely skip it. Prices are high and portions are small. This place was packed and not enough staff to meet the demand. They have a whole paper ticket system but the workers were still helping out the "regulars" first instead of helping the number that was next. I definitely won't be back. read more

Versailles bakery has the best authentic Cuban food in Miami. However, the times that I have been there I've had to wait ridiculously long just for one or two pastries, it seems that they're a bit disorganized in their bakery. I came to try this bakery as my Uber driver had recommended it but was VERY disappointed. Their system of how they take orders was complex and no one bothered to direct us even though it was clear we were not from Miami. When my turn finally arrived, I was greeted with a scowl and a very impatient lady. She glared at me and looked annoyed as I asked about an item and ordered. She walked away without letting me order a drink and made a scene when I asked someone else for my coffee. My food took more than 20 mins to arrive even though others were receiving their orders. She continued to walk past my food at the counter and ignored me even though I was standing there waiting for my food. I once again had to ask someone else for my food and she handed it to me with another scowl. So in other words, the food was average and not worth such poor customer service. I went to Versailles Restaurant for lunch, so I stopped the bakery afterwards. I wanted to get something to bring home to SF. I got the Beef Empanadas, mini empanada-shape pastry with guava filling (topped with sugar), and Danish with guava filling. They all were so good. The empanadas are the best ones I've had by far. If I knew it was that good, I would have brought dozens and store them in my fridge. read more

HOLY PASTELITOS!! NOM NOM NOM!! I was here yesterday. I ordered 6 pastelitos to go, 3 guava and 3 guava and cheese and WOWZAS. They were delicious, some of the best I have ever had in Miami. They were flaky, soft, and the flavor in the middle of the pastry was by no means overwhelming, it was just right. They were also worth every bite! For 6 pastelitos, I paid $5.98. BARGAIN!!
