Sophie...

Sophie had a seizure while getting groomed. The great folks at Pets Smart rushed her to the vet. VEG took really good care of her. Big shout out to the day & evening doctors and their staff. Everyone was helpful & calming. We learned some new things and everything turned out fine. #HighlyRecommended "if necessary"

During a stressful moment VEG provided rapid and amazing care to our little 4.lb dog. They were very informative and transparent with their service. Vet tech Zoey and Dr Swan walked us through the recommended medical treatment and gave confidence in proceeding with treatment. The entire team was very kind and attentive and it amazed us with how well equipped this vet ER was. I 100% would recommend this organization. Thank you VEG for providing care for our fur baby.

My poor baby had a prolonged bout of diarrhea. That may not sound serious, but I became deeply afraid after over a week that she was becoming dehydrated or that it was something life-threatening. We had never been to VEG before but our vet recommended it so my husband brought our girl there. He said that everyone was so compassionate, all of the staff truly show up in a way that makes you feel like they care about your pup. And they took our concerns seriously rather than dismissing it. I am so glad they did because the testing revealed potential unknown dangers lurking (growths on her organs). Ultimately, we did eventually identify the presumed source of her diarrhea as being related to the pesticide that is being sprayed in our neighborhood on the sidewalks and Roundup in the grass. The treatment was very effective, ranging from dietary support to probiotics to stool bulking methodologies and subcutaneous fluids to address the dehydration. The follow-ups from the vet were very welcome and we really felt like they wanted to make sure our pup was safe long after we had gone home. I actually called them with an update a few weeks later, and the front desk staff connected me to the vet so that she could take the information down. I really appreciated that level of note-taking and individual attention. We now have a long-term plan for the unexpected nodules and her diarrhea resolved. Other things that are notable and very appreciated included the way that they provided an invoice with line items so we could pick and choose which interventions / diagnostics we were comfortable doing. And finally, being able to stay with your dog, aka the open concept, is a beautiful thing. My only regret is that I hadn't taken my other dog, my late soul dog, here when she was ill. I have no doubt that my other dog would either still be with us today or would have passed more peacefully with us beside her if only we had come here instead of the other ER vet we had gone to. It means the world that this type of emergency vet exists.

We had had 2 experiences with VEG, both were great. I had heard this was a great choice, should we have an emergency within our pets. The first was just a phone call. One night one pup was acting strange. She was shaking and super clingy. I called and they had be speak to one of the veterinarians. She asked questions and told me she thought our pup was ok and we could remain at home, coming in if things changed or got worse. In the end, she eventually relaxed and was ok. Our second was with our other pup, who has had gland issues. I was out of town and my husband saw she was starting to have some swelling and knew to take her to VEG. He was very impressed by the whole experience. They let you in, as doors are locked. The facility is mostly a large open space with separate places for each animal to be cared for. They quickly had her examined, determined what was needed and completed the needed procedure. My husband was able to be with her most of the time and was encouraged to talk to her and pet her, as they know it helps keep our babies calm. He was even offered to observe the procedure, though he chose to not look and just pet her. They do have private areas for use as needed. In any emergency, this is where we will be going and highly recommend VEG. Thanks for taking such good care of our pups.

This place is great!! I've never been to a vet with an open concept like this one. Everyone was very knowledgeable and caring. Although it was on the pricey side, it was nice having my dog in good hands after hours. I would definitely make the drive to VEG in the future if needed. Thank you VEG for helping with Charlie!

Brought my K9, Sora to VEG yesterday due to blood in stool and vomiting. Dr. Wilkinson and her staff were very kind and attentive to my girl. Highly recommend for emergency doggie visits. Thank you to all the staff. She no longer has blood in her stool and we are currently at the beach back to normal.

I've used another location before. And VEG is consistent in wonderful care for your animal. It's comforting to know I have them 24/7 if something happens. From calling in to the whole situation, my dog and I were cared for. He's a rescue w trust issues. I'm able to be w him the whole way and let the team know his behavior so they can choose the best treatment. And they did. They all must love what they do there as I felt they were there for me through a hard time. And that is what they tell you. 24/7 u can get help. Even the vet will talk to u on phone!

2nd time coming here and they are all so welcoming and very helpful. They let you know who they are and what they are going to do before doing it. I also like how they text you the link with summary of care + invoice. I always misplace important papers so I like how everything is digital but they will make a paper copy as well.

Just left VEG and all I can say is the staff is amazing, the doctors are horrible! Brought my 15 year old boston in for sudden loss of appetite and vomiting - the doctor never did an exam and was worried about a blockage. No exam at all, yet I am charged for one, and also a miscellaneous $100 fee. To make it even better, the vet techs asked the doctor if she wanted to examine another patient, laughing, as if this doctor has a history of failure to examine. Pretty much paid $1200 for labs, Cerenia, and fluids, all while sitting in a waiting area! I have 3 dogs, a 15 year old with IMHA, another 15yo seen today, and a 9yo that is currently being seen at Sage ophthalmology -- I know what medical care is needed and I know good medical care, VEG care is pure garbage. I will say the vet techs are amazing, caring and personable.

This is Daisy our 13 year old Chihuahua, recovering from pneumonia in the one of the oxygen chambers at VEG

VEG has been there for my entire fur family any time that emergency care has been needed. From two years ago with a bowel obstruction to yesterday's life threatening pneumonia, they have only ever provided the utmost best veterinary care for our dogs and for our chinchilla. They have an open floor plan where you can spend time with your recovering animals and with them being open 24hrs a day, during any point of hospitalization they are happy to have you there with them. On top of that they also have rooms where you and your animals can have a bit more privacy if needed. Everyone who works there is always so kind and level headed, even during the most serious of cases, and they are always quick to respond even when there are 10 other patients being helped at the same time. The staff at VEG has saved the lives of multiple animals in our care and they always go above and beyond to give your animals the best outcome possible. While I hope that nobody would ever need to go to the emergency vet, sometimes it is unavoidable and during those times I wouldn't recommend any other emergency vet than this one. I will always be eternally grateful for everyone at VEG and I know that should anything ever happen in the future, this is where I'll be taking my animals.

Nice and spacious kennel with dog bed and blankets provided by VEG for her overnight stay!

Updating since we had another hospitalization recently for pneumonia and VEG did an amazing job with my sweet girl. She was unusually fearful because she was feeling horrible, so she snapped at the vet and nurses during her first exam, but they were so understanding and patient. I felt terrible, but they were so nice about it. She had to stay overnight, but we visited her a few times and each time we had staff come over to check if we needed anything, had any questions, etc. They also did their best to make her comfortable (even setting up a bed and headrest made of towels for her to lean on) while she was with them. We loved the way the nurses interacted with her. We saw them petting her, calling her nicknames, etc. and she was even wagging her tail when they opened the door to the oxygen chamber. She looked so excited to see them! The front desk staff was awesome as well. They were so friendly and incredibly helpful with any administrative issues we had, like splitting up payment on different cards. I will never take my pets to another emergency vet if I can avoid it. VEG is superior in every way to any other emergency vet I've been to.

My dog's ear has a hematoma. I drained it once myself, but it immediately filled back up. Would like to have it re-drained and sutured, but local vet was more money than I have. Does anybody know how much something like this would cost at Veg?

They were a bit more expensive than my regular vet because they are an emergency office. However, I did like holiday treated me and my kitty

What are the prices like? I am worried about the cost of it means surgery. The emergency vet I had used in the past (and never will again) charged a HUGE amount even before the actual procedures were done.

It's still pricey, but they communicate before they charge you.. and the care and service that is provided, while expensive is worth it. Just let them know your max... they will also work with you.

They worked up an estimate that was quite large. The estimate had a low end and high end numbers. Veronica sat with me and explained each charge along with how and when it may apply. We played around with the numbers to help us fit it within an easier budget. Veronica was very thorough, patient and informative. My baby was sick so we had to do something. I left my pet with them to be treated while hospitalized. Unfortunately, I did not know exactly how sick she was. Within a matter of a short period, diagnostics came in with not so good news that left us with two options. Neither of which I was prepared for. After hearing the extent of my babies sickness, it was evident we needed to set her free. As painful as those words and that decision was, it had to be done. We drove back to that hospital to be with our baby. Sage has a special room just for the letting go process. Although we were not ready to say goodbye, we appreciated the quick return on labs and such, that gave us the answers needed to make the right decision for our girl. If you have been trying and struggling to piecemeal answers for your ill pet, I'd suggest going to this one stop shop. They have the doctors, staff, equipment and specialists on hand to get you the answers your pet and your family deserves. We love you Tabitha and miss you greatly. Instead of acting quickly, the receptionist was incredibly rude and told me to wait for a nurse just to decide "if they could stay or not." I ended up waiting for over 40 minutes. While I was waiting, three other clients walked in, and all of their animals were taken back to see a nurse immediately. When I questioned the staff about this, they claimed the other animals were emergencies. How are 4 starved and dehydrated kittens not considered an emergency? What makes this worse is that this place is supposed to work with local animal shelters, yet they couldn't care less about these rescue animals when it actually mattered. It felt like because these were rescues and I wasn't a standard high-paying client, they didn't want to bother helping them. A veterinary hospital should care about saving animal lives, regardless of where they came from. The lack of care, terrible communication, and rude behavior at the front desk are completely unacceptable. Avoid this place if you actually have a real emergency.

Of course since it was an emergency/not planned I had to bring my 9 and 2 year old in also which I was dreading. Right away when walking in I felt immediately better. 1) Clean open space - I thought I might have to be stuck in a small space with my kids and cat but instead loved how there were vets/techs treating pets in different well-prepared areas of the room. There are rooms available if needed but thankfully my cat was able to be seen right away on a portable space. 2) Fast service - we were seen right away and even though the testing took 3+ hours (my cat's bladder was really really small and I opted to do the urinalysis even when it didn't work the first time) i appreciated how we were given a space right away 3) Staff professionalism and friendliness - all the staff seemed warm, approachable, friendly and I didn't get the feeling that anyone was trying to "upsell" me...I know going to any vet is expensive. That's just the way it is! I didn't feel pressured or guilted into making more expensive decisions though. 4) The BIGGEST reason for a 5+ star review is the waiting area/entertainment available for the kids!!! After my phone almost ran out of batteries a staff member told me there was a play area/waiting room for the kids and that saved the day!! I was able to focus on being there for my cat and my kids were hanging fun! They really thought of everything to make their patient-parents-family feel welcome. Cookies, hot water, coffee, tea was available in the waiting room along with toys! And since my phone DID completely die when my daughter tried to call me they even had a phone charger available (different chargers for different phones). In the end my cat ended up being fine and just needed a prescription so I'm very thankful for the whole experience!!

My pup was clearly very agitated, and I noticed there were several patients in the waiting room. I thought it would be best for everyone if I stayed by the entrance. She was incredibly understanding and immediately offered to triage my pup right where we were, which I truly appreciated. Once they discovered what was wrong, everything moved very quickly, and I was understandably very distraught and emotional. During that stressful moment, she showed such kindness and compassion--she even offered us bottled water. It may seem like a small gesture, but it meant so much to us and made a difficult situation a little more manageable. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. To and Nurse Mei for their swift action as soon as they identified what was wrong with my pup, Mia. Their urgency, professionalism, and compassion made all the difference during such a frightening time. They also allowed my partner and me to remain by Mia's side throughout her treatment, which meant so much to us. Dr. To continually reassured us that Mia was going to be okay, answering all of our questions with patience and kindness. We truly felt heard and supported every step of the way. I would also like to thank the entire team involved in Mia's care. From the day shift staff who worked hard to start her IV, to Nurse Mei for making sure Mia was kept warm and comfortable, to the night shift team led by Dr. Wong for seamlessly taking over her care--everyone showed incredible dedication. A special thank you as well to the gentleman nurse who assisted with Mia's discharge this morning. He was gentle, kind, and so thoughtful while removing her IV and EKG stickers, making the process much less stressful for Mia (and for us). From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for saving Mia's life. We are forever grateful.

*First time experience* Review for a Cat…read more Believe the reviews, this place is phenomenal! While I hope all of our fur babies will never need to come here, sometimes things happen and unexpectedly. I want to be transparent that I was at SAGE earlier in the day-- let's just say I don't like the route they wanted to go and I went to VEG few hours later. As we know, cats are masters at hiding pain and discomfort. The below review was from July 15, 9pm at night. My 5 1/2 cat Bebe's symptoms: 1. Not eating or drinking and it was 95 degrees 2. No potty at all (I have a litter robot, plus two other cats) I brought her in after 15 hours of these symptoms. A bit "quickly" but as I mentioned it was hot out and my girl LOVES food. About the vet: I called beforehand, very nice gentleman answered, didn't rush me, didn't treat me like another number in the queue. I also want to call out, no AI crap! A real human answered when I called I didn't have to select "press 7" etc. I arrived about 20 mins after the call and was greeted warmly by the front desk. Extremely clean place, coffee and tea bar, freshly baked cookies! We were promptly given a room and Dr Molly came in within 15 mins of our arrival after the nurse took vitals. Dr Molly is a pure assets to this vet. Before she started talking, she sat down on the ground to not overwhelm my cat. Her voice is very sweet, she understood my concern and gently got Bebe comfortable. Treated her like a little scared child vs just some animal with no feelings. She got to Bebe's level vs throwing her on the metal table. Dr Molly listened to every little trivial thing I said about the past 24 hours because I wanted to be transparent and she determined we should do an x ray and blood work. I was promptly given the link via phone to pay + outline of costs, clear! I did have to wait about 2 hours for results of the xray due to the hour I was there (9pm to midnight), the results were sent out for review. I received them back and they are the clearest x rays I've ever seen, better than a human hospital, seriously. They send you a live link to download them too. Diagnosis: she came back in, same calm voice vs the chaos she had in the vet (few emergencies popped up with dogs) while I was waiting. She gave Bebe fluids and anti nausea injection and an antibiotic injection. I got home 1am and she started eating! I couldn't believe it. Her red blood cells were a bit high (inflammation), thank god no blockages. What I think was wrong: we had a little stress when I got home with a big box and she ran between my legs and got stressed running into them + the door slammed same time she got freaked out running into my legs hard.

Brought my dog in at 11pm since this was the only available vet that open. She had CHF and we…read morenoticed her breathing was getting muddy and panting. They kept my dog in an oxygen tank overnight and the next day advised us that she would not make it. I understand that vets advise humane euthanasia but they shouldn't guilt trip the patient's owners into it. Also please know how your pets act because vets and vet techs don't know them as much as you do! Our dog usually pants heavily and gets really anxious and the vets perceived it as her struggling to breathe and even kept advising us that euthanasia was the only way. We opted to bring her home and get a second opinion with her primary vet (who advised us that she was still bright and alert and needed treatment, not euthanasia!) Her primary vet also saw red flags with all the different medication she was given and obviously would cause her body to react negatively. We could have lost her that day to euthanasia but thank goodness we followed our instinct and brought her home. It's been 5 days now and she's starting to eat and drink and get her strength back. When it's time - they will let you know. Humane euthanasia is beneficial, yes. But know how your pets are and always get a second opinion if you're not sure!

I had spent the night debating if I should take my Pug in or not- for potential Aspiration Pneumonia- (wet loud barking sound) and how they can go from better to bad at day 3-7! Anyways, I tried my vet first in the AM and she had explained that they needed X-rays and to hold her - would maybe need to be put under- and for a brachiocephalious dog- if she took a turn while under(wet lungs) they would NOT have what they need to save her- ie oxygen etc to intubate her. So, my Doc made notes and sent over to them, while I headed over. Was greeted by very friendly staff in a clean tidy spacious space. It was probably 8:30am. I was the only customer. Saw Dr Anderson who went over her history of the many recent things that got us to this moment. She did a quick Sonogram? To look at her lungs to see if she could see foreign matter in her lungs. Yes. They were able to do X-rays and not put her under. They were able to discover this GI issue we have been trying to solve- which put her on rice and cottage cheese which led to it in her lungs- and then this Xray. They prescribed Amoxicillin and cans of a Hill's Rx diet. She just finished all that and really has been doing better each day that passes. I just really appreciated the Doctor's thoughtful process and everything we needed for success. She was luckily on the upswing. *This is the Modern ER for your pets. Totally would recommend to everyone. Call ahead or just go- they are helpful either way. They are 24hours open.

She is so kind, thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled, and incredibly understanding. I know Milo has been receiving the best care possible ever since she became his oncologist. She performed multiple tests on him to make sure he doesn't have cancer anywhere else, she listened carefully to all of my concerns, and answered every one of our questions. She thoroughly explained Milo's diagnosis, what is happening in his body, and all of our treatment options. She also gave us clear instructions on what to do if we ever suspect the cancer has returned before we are able to schedule an appointment with her. All of her guidance gave me so much peace of mind. We are incredibly blessed to have her as Milo's doctor. There aren't enough words to describe how grateful we are for everything she and her team have done for us. Thank you so much Dr. Kelley Zimmerman, and thank you PESCM for taking such wonderful care of our babies! P. S. I absolutely adore all the pictures they took of our dogs ( Milo and Hiccup )! I loved the photos so much, that I even printed them in full size :)

Nobody wants to go to ER Nobody wants to wait for hours…read moreNobody wants to pay a lot of money But unfortunately sometimes we cant avoid it. This facility is very clean and nicely laid out with large waiting area. The staff are friendly and empathetic even though their jobs are very difficult and demanding. One thing that can be done better is prioritizing tests (not treatments). My dog had bloody diarrhea, they had to partially sedate her twice, once for xray and once for ultrasound. Both could have happened together if planning was better. Again just the test and not consultation. Hope nobody ever has to go to ER (for people or animals) but the staff here do handle things good and make it less painful.
