I was lucky enough to score an invite to the soft opening of Via313 in Kyle. My reservation was at 7:45. When I got there they said they were drastically overbooked and it was a 1 hour wait. The cool thing is... they took my cell phone number and texted me when the table was ready, so my party went and wandered the pet store next door and then sat in a nice shaded area near the restaurant and chatted instead of sitting in the entryway for the 45 minute wait. It was actually nice. At one point I asked for water and someone from Via brought water to us.. y'all... we weren't even AT the restaurant. That kind of service continued the rest of the night. Any time we needed something it was taken care of with a smile. On to the food. Two styles... Detroit Style (the inch-tall crust w/sauce on top) and Bar style (what most know as classic thin-crust pizza). Both were good, I recommend getting one of each and splitting it between 5-6 people. It's plenty. And plenty tasty. Since it was the soft opening, they encouraged us to order as much as we wanted... so each of our party ordered a pizza and the table got a beet salad (nicely dressed) and 3 appetizers. As for the appetizers... the cheese bread and roasted broccoli & cauliflower was good but the stand out was the delicious roasted artichokes - baked with mozzarella, goat cheese & marinara. As for adult drinks... I tried the Bear King Brewing Wandering Blonde Ale beer on draft. I like that they have a craft brew option (it's out of Marble Falls, TX). The only thing negative I'd say is... the place is loud. 6 of us sat at a booth and I couldn't hear much of the conversation because of the noise. Now... it was soft opening and VERY packed, but still I wish there was something to help with the acoustics. When I go back, it'll be when it gets cooler and I'll likely sit at the outdoor patio space. Overall... somewhat pricey.. but your getting a boutique pizza experience (this ain't a fast food place or "bring the little league team after a game" type place) so it's to be expected... and the cost is totally worth it. Oh.. Protip... if you have kids.. ask your server for some pizza dough for the kids to play with. They'll happily bring you some. Fun for adults too. :) read more

Stopped in for lunch. Had the Cadillac Detroit style. The pizza was great. Dig the ambiance. Staff was friendly. I only ate 1/2 my pizza (cause I'm capable of self discipline). Brought the rest home. Between other family members that didn't join me at the restaurant, my left overs lasted 30 minutes. Poof. Gone. Also positive reviews from the two pizza thieves. My wingman whose culinary adventure starts and stops with cheese pizza, said it was the best cheese pizza they'd had. I mean..I don't get just cheese pizza. Two minor dings. My water was dry for a bit, but another server noticed and took care of it. Also, it took around 25 minutes from order to table. A little longer than I'd hoped. The manager came around and checked on us. I told him about the time expectation and he said that was behind where they should be for lunch. I appreciated the no excuse response. Whether by practice or as a gesture, some cinnamon sticks showed up at our table. Those were tasty, too. We stopped by to try Via 313 pizza for the first time. Wow! What a great pizza! Nice fresh flavors and nice crunch. We have been in Texas for 2 years and are hands down the best so far! There's lots to choose from on the menu and has a full bar. Service was awesome! Nate was our server and very knowledgeable in the menu as well as good recommendations and people friendly. Just a skip and a jump from Costco as well in case you have shopping to do. Nice ambiance with big screen tvs for the sports fans. Pizza is about 20 min and well worth the wait. The GM just happened to stop by the table and greet us and ask us how our visit was. Very in tune with customer service. Got to say I was very impressed with the overall experience. Tried out the new Via 313 Pizzeria in the Kyle. Located in the strip center near the theater and Home Depot where so many new places recently opened. Detroit style pizza is square and Bar style is round. Both served on round pizza plates. They add the sauce AFTER the pies are cooked. Table service and to go. They seat you. Small but nice place with a full service shaker bar. Very good service. Not cheap, but the ingredients are top quality. Great pizza. As a resident of Kyle, since 1995, I consider myself a true pioneer to these parts. I was really excited to see a popular pizza joint from Austin move into town. I like trying new restaurants, and tastes. So we stopped in for dinner and we ordered meatballs and marinara sauce and 4 different Detroit Style Pizza slices, This came out to a total of 8 square slices. While I love me some meatballs and sauce, they were warm at best. The Detroit style pizza is a definite no go for me. We had the Cadillac, the Bobo Brazil, cheese and one called Ambassador Bridge. The dough itself was rather bland and not quite as thick as a traditional deep dish. The honey soaked in the dough was unexpectedly ok. The sauce dazzled over the Cadillac was rather tasty and the best overall. The waiter forgot to bring us our beet salad, I was excited to try this. What you are paying here for ladies and gentlemen is the ambiance, atmosphere. $60 with tip. It's new, and has a great vibe with busy and friendly staff. I'll come back and give them a second chance later and try the thinner bar style pizza and beet salad. read more

I have been here twice and both times it took forever for someone to seat us even though there wasn't anyone else waiting. This last time there was 6 other tables but it still took 25 minutes to get our pizza. Don't order the add on toppings as you can just substitute the ingredients from the listed pizzas and then it won't be so expensive. I asked for sausage as a topping but I had no idea that it was going to be super spicy and hot. They need to change the item to say spicy Italian sausage instead of just sausage. The Detroit pan is a lot of bread and it the toppings are very sparse but lots of tomato sauce. read more

I had the sincere pleasure of visiting this location a bit before their grand opening. The staff was so very friendly and attentive, even though it was already busy with the pre-opening event. I had the Night Moves cocktail, which surprised me with how tasty it was. Good level of balance in terms of booziness and I enjoyed the unique taste. Wasn't expecting a drink from a pizza place to be legit! From there, I had the roasted artichokes, marinated with marinara and with mozzarella, goat cheese, and came with crostini. Definitely a tasty dish without being overly cheesy. The star of the show is definitely the pizza and if you have never had Detroit style, you're in for a treat! The style is a rectangular shape, with a crispy caramelized cheesy edge. I got the Cadillac, which comes with prosciutto, parmesan, gorgonzola, fig preserves, topped with a balsamic glaze. The prosciutto is salty and has nice big slices distributed on each slice of pizza and the sweetness of the balsamic is balanced by the delicious cheese and crispy crust, while the pizza still remains a fantastic moistness to it in the middle. I've had a friend from Detroit who has been with me to try a different Via 313 location up north, and he says it's absolutely spot on for the style. This location in Kyle is no different, as everything tastes perfect. From Gilbert and Wes at the bar, to my conversations with Will and Jake (the general manager), everyone was more than happy to see how I was doing. I'm sure I'm missing some names but everyone was so friendly despite being busy. Major shout out to all the staff here! I can honestly say this is one of my favorite pizza places and I'm beyond excited to have a location so close to home now. Looking forward to visiting many more times to come! read more

Our first visit was very nice. Ryan, our server, was enthusiastic and so helpful. The ambiance outside was more calm than inside. And we appreciated that as I don't prefer loud restaurants too much. We ordered the brussel sprouts, which we enjoyed. And our server introduced us to the bread sticks, which were also tasty. The good news: Very nice hostess, very friendly, great waitperson. The bad news: We waited almost forty-five minutes to get our pizzas. Those pizzas were without much flavor. The sauce was very acidic, with not much else going on, and it was put, in streaks, on the cheese. The pizza dough had no flavor. It was like eating a medium thick slice of white bread. No sauce was evident on the crust. The broccoli on my pizza consisted of eight, cold, raw, tiny florets. The onions lacked flavor. The cheeses were bland. There was no oregano that I could taste, anywhere on the pizzas, and no oregano shaker at our table. Our bill, for two small pizzas, two drinks, one large salad, was $60, including a $10 tip. Very delicious pizza with a thicker fluffy crust. I ordered the one with all the meat/protein on it. I did not order the lunch special because I wanted to try the meat/protein pizza. The lunch special was 2 slices with a salad, however; you only get a choice of pepperoni or cheese pizza. I think the lunch special came with a drink too for $12 or $13. I would recommend this pizza place and I look forward to trying their lunch special soon. read more
