    Cavatelli with shrimp
    Katie K.

We have driven by here a dozen times and it always looks so inviting. We decided to look on open table to see what was available on a Friday at 6:30 and this popped up. Wow! What a cute spot! Everyone seems to know everyone. The owner says hello to everyone who walks in. We got a fun spot for 2 in the window. It was great people watching. We ordered an arugula salad, some cavatelli shrimp pasta and a bottle of wine. And of course, the famous garlic bread. Everything was flavorful and well executed. The service was fantastic. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We wanted to sit at the bar, but it was full. Our server told us the story of the chef turned owner, and the family story. This is a gem that everyone should visit. It's independently owned and operated and we should all support that effort and love. P.S. peep the wallpaper in the bathroom. It's absolutely fantastic. We will be back!

Food, ambiance and drinks were all divine. Staff were pleasant, but it took some time to get attention to our table of only 3... On a Saturday evening, the bar area shifted into more of a night life scene with a live DJ than a restaurant - mixed thoughts about the transition. Overall, beautiful food and drinks.

I'm disappointed. I came here and picked up my order on a Saturday night 2/28/26. It was extremely busy and lively. I waited at the bar waiting to be greeted. No one cared to say "hi". I went over to a guy on the POS, told him I had an order. A older man came from behind me and put his hands on me and asked what I was doing at the bar alone and if I was having a fun night. Not sure who he was but he was hanging by the bar for a few seconds. 2 mins later, my food was handed to me. No body mentioned anything about them being out of my side. I drive 20 mins home, to only realize they got my order wrong. This place might be fancy and expensive but customer service should be important to treat EVERYONE with empathy and respect. This man George who talked to me about my wrong order, pretty much didn't care that the meal is not edible for me because of the veggies were not correct. Its the lack of respect and care he had that I am unhappy that they didn't bother to offer me a remake for another time. Instead, he tells me to call them next time to verbally tell them so they get it correct. Hmm with that attitude, I doubt there would ever be a next time. George says, "We can agree to disagree". Look, I ordered asparagus and cauliflower, the least you could have done was just make it ALL CAULIFLOWER but George refuses to hear my suggestion and just told me there is nothing they can do at this point, and think all I'm upset about is bc my meal has no asparagus. If an order says "ONLY ASPARAGUS AND ONLY CAULIFLOWER" then my order should be correctly made. If you're out of asparagus then just keep it ONLY CAULIFLOWER. Its really not that hard, yet George was extremely rude and not sympathetic/understanding that I can't eat the other veggies, which was touching the rest of my meal. I want a refund. A place like this should have much better guest service but I guess if you're not rich then they just assume they can mistreat you. Not returning and will not bring friends here.

An intimate, quintessential family owned restaurant in the heart of OC. Dim candle lit room, giving a very sexy and romantic vibe. Not only was the energy upscale but the food was absolutely delicious. Their pastas were just exquisite and all house made. Here's what we tried: 1. Spaghetti Maremont: house made pasta with generous crab meat and rick shrimp with mushrooms in a paprika cream sauce. Just the right amount of tomato sauce and spice making it easy to devour the whole dish. 2. Pistachio Pesto Sphaghetti: basil pesto with splash of lemon and chili topped with pistachio bites to garnish. Sooo incredibly good. A must order. Can add your choice of protein to it. 3. St Louis traditional Toasted Beef Ravioli: crispy ravioli ground beef filled. Yes it had a crispy shell which surprisingly very good. Highly recommend. 4. Of course we ordered an infamous martini: delicious victuals with a slight caffeine kick 5. Tiramisu: very good but honestly not much different from others I've tried. Overall highly recommend guys. Everything we had was just mind knowingly good

This was the last stop on my Newport Beach trip and I couldn't have asked for anyplace else to end. The exterior of this restaurant caught my immediately eye as I was driving past, and after looking at some of their dishes on Yelp I was sold. I came in a little over an hour before closing and met with smiles as if the restaurant just opened. Both pastas were made to order and tasted great. The cocktails were very unique with a nice presentation. Check this place out if you're looking for a cozy meal for dinner.

The place was very cutely decorated for Halloween which was as great. The service was interesting, she was really nice but probably lacked the service needed for this kind of restaurant. The fettuccine bolognese was amazing. The pistachio pesto was not. It was very salty and lacked the Thai chili taste I was looking for. Drinks were nicely garnished for the season as well.

    Racist security guard.

My friends and I wanted to get birthday drinks but was turned down by security because apparently the bar was at "capacity ". However, we waited and see the "capacity" And he had let two Caucasian men with four other Caucasian women, plus other group of Caucasian. A racist and bullshit restaurant. 10/10 don't recommend for the minorities. Save your hard earned money.

Such a classic Italian dinner experience. I loved how cozy it was and also great that it had a pretty lively bar up at the front with dining rooms in the back. We ordered the Garlic Bread, Brussel Sprouts and Caprese to start then split the Caccio e Pepe with chicken for our main with some Chianti to drink. This was definitely a solid meal and our server was lovely. Again, I've said Italian hasn't been super solid here in OC but I'm learning of more and more spots and this is definitely one for the list!

We had a great experience here, and we were lucky to get a private room with our reservation for 10. The service was great. Ambiance is a nice Italian dinner restaurant that turns into a loud bar at night. Food was delicious. - Garlic bread (4.5/5): Super garlicy, buttery, delicious - Meatballs (4.5/5): The sauce was very flavorful, meatballs were a good size and tasty - Lobster ravioli (4/5): Pretty creamy, good flavor overall - Spaghetti maremonte (4/5): Seafood was amazing and tasted fresh. Paired well with the creamy sauce - Oreo ice cream pie (4.5/5): Super sweet but so good. Love the crust

Rothchild's has a great ambience and delicious food and drinks. The owners are a lovely couple that really make the experience special. My friends and I had a mom's night out here in the cellar and had a wonderful evening. This would be a great spot to eat with friends or go for a date night. I will be coming back for sure! Be sure to order an espresso martini if that's up your alley!

Our server Raul was so nice and his food recommendations were perfect! The sea bass and homemade pasta were delicious! Don't skip the Oreo ice cream pie it's so good. The restaurant is small and intimate with some seating outside.

When booking, I had the option of dining , chef's table, or patio seating. I specifically chose the dining since my daughter loves creating content, and the indoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful for photos. The hostess seated us on the patio, and I mentioned that I had selected dining. I was told that seating is based on first availability, which was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant is right on the water and by 7:30 PM it was getting pretty chilly. While they do have heaters outside, sitting in gusty winds with the smell of gas (especially after a fresh trip to the hairdresser!) just wasn't ideal. My daughter went back to the car to grab a blanket. Thankfully, the hostess noticed my discomfort and came back shortly after saying, "Donna, we have another table further down that's out of the wind and under a heat lamp." That small gesture made a big difference, and honestly, that's when the experience started to turn around. From there, things only got better. When our entrées arrived, our waiter Nick realized we had never received our appetizers. Without hesitation, he assured us he would make it right, and he absolutely did. He brought out a selection of cheeses for us to sample, which led to us ordering a caviar bump paired with champagne (highly recommend!). To top it all off, he surprised my daughter with olive cake and fresh berries to celebrate her birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Not just because the food was amazing, but because of the attention to detail and how seriously they take the overall dining experience. Parking is available in a nearby garage, and they validate the first 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus.

I had this place bookmarked on Yelp since November when it was all dressed up for the holidays. The…read morepictures of the interior looked beautiful and the food looked great. Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.

The waitstaff are impeccable and trained to please the customer. The chefs are some of the best in their industry. It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item.
