    Cavatelli with shrimp

We have driven by here a dozen times and it always looks so inviting. We decided to look on open table to see what was available on a Friday at 6:30 and this popped up. Wow! What a cute spot! Everyone seems to know everyone. The owner says hello to everyone who walks in. We got a fun spot for 2 in the window. It was great people watching. We ordered an arugula salad, some cavatelli shrimp pasta and a bottle of wine. And of course, the famous garlic bread. Everything was flavorful and well executed. The service was fantastic. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We wanted to sit at the bar, but it was full. Our server told us the story of the chef turned owner, and the family story. This is a gem that everyone should visit. It's independently owned and operated and we should all support that effort and love. P.S. peep the wallpaper in the bathroom. It's absolutely fantastic. We will be back!

I'm disappointed. I came here and picked up my order on a Saturday night 2/28/26. It was extremely busy and lively. I waited at the bar waiting to be greeted. No one cared to say "hi". I went over to a guy on the POS, told him I had an order. A older man came from behind me and put his hands on me and asked what I was doing at the bar alone and if I was having a fun night. Not sure who he was but he was hanging by the bar for a few seconds. 2 mins later, my food was handed to me. No body mentioned anything about them being out of my side. I drive 20 mins home, to only realize they got my order wrong. This place might be fancy and expensive but customer service should be important to treat EVERYONE with empathy and respect. This man George who talked to me about my wrong order, pretty much didn't care that the meal is not edible for me because of the veggies were not correct. Its the lack of respect and care he had that I am unhappy that they didn't bother to offer me a remake for another time. Instead, he tells me to call them next time to verbally tell them so they get it correct. Hmm with that attitude, I doubt there would ever be a next time. George says, "We can agree to disagree". Look, I ordered asparagus and cauliflower, the least you could have done was just make it ALL CAULIFLOWER but George refuses to hear my suggestion and just told me there is nothing they can do at this point, and think all I'm upset about is bc my meal has no asparagus. If an order says "ONLY ASPARAGUS AND ONLY CAULIFLOWER" then my order should be correctly made. If you're out of asparagus then just keep it ONLY CAULIFLOWER. Its really not that hard, yet George was extremely rude and not sympathetic/understanding that I can't eat the other veggies, which was touching the rest of my meal. I want a refund. A place like this should have much better guest service but I guess if you're not rich then they just assume they can mistreat you. Not returning and will not bring friends here.

Food, ambiance and drinks were all divine. Staff were pleasant, but it took some time to get attention to our table of only 3... On a Saturday evening, the bar area shifted into more of a night life scene with a live DJ than a restaurant - mixed thoughts about the transition. Overall, beautiful food and drinks.

An intimate, quintessential family owned restaurant in the heart of OC. Dim candle lit room, giving a very sexy and romantic vibe. Not only was the energy upscale but the food was absolutely delicious. Their pastas were just exquisite and all house made. Here's what we tried: 1. Spaghetti Maremont: house made pasta with generous crab meat and rick shrimp with mushrooms in a paprika cream sauce. Just the right amount of tomato sauce and spice making it easy to devour the whole dish. 2. Pistachio Pesto Sphaghetti: basil pesto with splash of lemon and chili topped with pistachio bites to garnish. Sooo incredibly good. A must order. Can add your choice of protein to it. 3. St Louis traditional Toasted Beef Ravioli: crispy ravioli ground beef filled. Yes it had a crispy shell which surprisingly very good. Highly recommend. 4. Of course we ordered an infamous martini: delicious victuals with a slight caffeine kick 5. Tiramisu: very good but honestly not much different from others I've tried. Overall highly recommend guys. Everything we had was just mind knowingly good

I absolutely love this little restaurant, it's small and so cozy. I brought my mom here for Mother's Day and she absolutely loved it, the service was amazing. Our waitress was very quick and accommodating! There was a set menu for Mother's Day which included an appetizer, main dish, & dessert. For our appetizer, we ordered the - Caesar salad as my appetizer, I give that a 4/10. Unfortunately this salad was a little too fishy for my liking. I understand the salad dressing for Caesar includes anchovies but some places have less of a fishy taste. The croutons were delicious though! - My mom got the Veal & Ricotta meatballs, she gave it a 8/10, I however wasn't the biggest fan. I like my food a bit more on the salty side and my mom likes it less salty so this was perfect for her - My dad got the Ribollita, he gave that a 8/10! It tasted great and it was a very simple dish with Tuscan white beans, house made bone broth, & Black kale For our main dish we ordered the - Vodka Pasta: 7/10, I do like a lot of sauce on my pasta so it's more tasty and creamy. Unfortunately, this time I felt like there wasn't as much sauce and flavor but that's okay I've tried it other times and it was perfect. I do recommend trying it! - Pistachio Pesto Fettucine, this was my mom's dish and she loved it, she gave it a 9/10. - Lobster Ravioli, my dad gave it a 7/10, the portion was a bit small for him Lastly, for my dessert we ordered the -Rothschild Icecream Pie 10/10!!! I would recommend this over any of the desserts - Limoncello Cheesecake 7/10, I don't like anything lemon flavored but honestly this was very delicious - Tiramisu 9/10, i think all 3 of the desserts were incredible and I enjoyed it more than the main dishes Overall I think the price was great for what we received, the ambiance was great, my parents were happy so I'm happy!

I can't express how much I love this place. Everything about it is exactly what I want out of a nice meal. The vibes inside are amazing and the bar is killing it. Service is top notch and the staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The food is excellent (and honestly some of the best OC has to offer in my opinion). It's a decent bill for a party of four with drinks but it's a worthy investment I'd make over and over again!

The place was very cutely decorated for Halloween which was as great. The service was interesting, she was really nice but probably lacked the service needed for this kind of restaurant. The fettuccine bolognese was amazing. The pistachio pesto was not. It was very salty and lacked the Thai chili taste I was looking for. Drinks were nicely garnished for the season as well.

This was the last stop on my Newport Beach trip and I couldn't have asked for anyplace else to end. The exterior of this restaurant caught my immediately eye as I was driving past, and after looking at some of their dishes on Yelp I was sold. I came in a little over an hour before closing and met with smiles as if the restaurant just opened. Both pastas were made to order and tasted great. The cocktails were very unique with a nice presentation. Check this place out if you're looking for a cozy meal for dinner.

Such a classic Italian dinner experience. I loved how cozy it was and also great that it had a pretty lively bar up at the front with dining rooms in the back. We ordered the Garlic Bread, Brussel Sprouts and Caprese to start then split the Caccio e Pepe with chicken for our main with some Chianti to drink. This was definitely a solid meal and our server was lovely. Again, I've said Italian hasn't been super solid here in OC but I'm learning of more and more spots and this is definitely one for the list!

We had a great experience here, and we were lucky to get a private room with our reservation for 10. The service was great. Ambiance is a nice Italian dinner restaurant that turns into a loud bar at night. Food was delicious. - Garlic bread (4.5/5): Super garlicy, buttery, delicious - Meatballs (4.5/5): The sauce was very flavorful, meatballs were a good size and tasty - Lobster ravioli (4/5): Pretty creamy, good flavor overall - Spaghetti maremonte (4/5): Seafood was amazing and tasted fresh. Paired well with the creamy sauce - Oreo ice cream pie (4.5/5): Super sweet but so good. Love the crust

Had a glass of white wine which was recommended by the manager/sommelier while we browsed the menu. As our friends have dined here several times, we started to nibble on the whipped ricotta, burratina, empanadas and the pan con tomate w/jamon. All 4 were delicious but the empanadas were amazing! Our table was ready once we finished the 4 appetizers. Next up we decided on the tiger prawns, branzino and seared scallops. Thought the prawns were a tad bit overcooked as it was a bit tough. The scallops were well seasoned and especially loved the saffron risotto. Finally, the branzino was cooked perfectly but wasn't a fan of the romesco sauce as it tasted sweet to me. Though we were absolutely stuffed, we ended up trying their creme brûlée, gelato/sorbet flight and their olive cake. I absolutely loved the creme brûlée as the custard was super light. The gelato/sorbet flight was also tasty but sadly wasn't a fan of the olive cake. The place was packed and patrons seemed to stay for a few hours at a time. Only complaint is with how loud it can get with both the music and patrons drinking countless bottles of wine. Service was phenomenal and would definitely head back if in the area. Although they do validate for the 1st hour, we ended up staying for quite some time and parking ended up costing another $18.

I had this place bookmarked on Yelp since November when it was all dressed up for the holidays. The…read morepictures of the interior looked beautiful and the food looked great. Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.

It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!

We shared a bunch of things and there really wasn't a bad dish. The hummus with tomatoes and crispy bread was delicious, and we absolutely loved the meatballs in the slightly spicy curry sauce. We also had the pepper pasta, clams (one of my friends had never even tried clams and loved them!), cacio e pepe, and Mary's chicken. The chicken was Korean-style and came with kimchi green beans that somehow tasted a little like dill pickles -- in the best possible way. We loved them! The service, though, was just...odd. My bestie and I both ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Mine came with them, hers didn't, and neither martini was nearly dirty enough. Once we got some extra olive brine they were much better. But the funniest part was when we reminded our server that my friend was still missing her blue cheese olives. She came back with a skewer of them IN HER HAND and just handed it directly to my friend. No plate, no napkin, nothing. We all just looked at each other like, "Did that really just happen?" So overall, I'd absolutely come back because the food was THAT good. The kitchen gets an easy 5 stars from me. If the service had been at the same level, this would have been a five-star experience all around. For this visit, 4 stars -- but definitely worth going for the food!
