This was my first time stopping into Artisan Coffee as it is a bit of a dive for me, so I was happy…read moreto finally be in the area to give it a go! This place is a charmer for sure and has a vibe to it that is cozy. The space itself is larger than what I was expecting and it was nice that they offered additional parking across the street as their lot is small and gets full very quickly. The space also has a stage and lots of windows for natural light which I loved. The baristas were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the different drinks and what they offered, which was really nice. Unfortunately, I did not try any food, but their menu offers a wide range of breakfast and lunch options including sandwiches, soups, bakery and more. I reached for the cold brew and a friend got a lavander matcha lattee. The drinks were good, nothing out of this world but I was glad they offered additional cream, sugar, etc out in the open in case people decided they wanted to add anything to their drinks. They offer a wide range of drinks including some really interesting specialty drinks which all sound fun to try. Overall, Artisan Coffee is a cute, charming coffee shop that offers a wide variety of food and drink and I am sure you will find something you enjoy at this cafe. If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely consider coming back here to sit down rather than to-go.

Artisan used to be one of the best coffee shops in the region, but the quality of food and service…read morehas drastically declined in the last year. The interior vibes are the same; open, spacious, and clean. However, the food and most importantly, the staff, no longer maintain the quality that made me a regular in the first place. Artisan used to have amazing coffee and excellent food, but the coffee is no longer very good. I think this is due to the staff. The food has significantly declined in quality. The hollandaise on their breakfast sandwich is now a broken, greasy mess. The "sourdough" is generic white bread. What's even worse than the food is the staff. In the last two years, the staff has degenerated to an incompetent , bedraggled mess. The staff has never had to wear a uniform, but perhaps it's time for them to institute one. In my last several visits, I've seen grossly oversized clothes that have the staff looking like they just rolled out of bed. Hair is unkempt, not brushed, loose, and hanging down past their shoulders. A recipe for getting hair in my food. Furthermore, the staff is no longer smiling or friendly and can't answer basic questions about the menu. They seem confused about where they are and the service they provide. On top of all this, they maintain their strict breakfast timeframe. Why they have decided to stick to antiquated time limits for the food that is always available in their kitchen is beyond me. The barest minimum of market research would show how popular breakfast sandwiches are all day. What once was a vibrant, friendly coffee shop with great food, good coffee, and pleasant employees now feels like a dressed up McDonalds.

Anybody that's rating this below 4 stars, hit the road. Here's my thought, it's a 4 star restaurant…read more(probably like a 4.3) when comparing it to every restaurant in the Stark County/Portage/Summit area. When you compare it to Springfield? It's a 6 star restaurant, if such a thing exists. They have the absolute best appetizer menu I've ever seen. There were 8 items on the appetizer menu and with just 3 of us, we obviously couldn't order all of them. We started with the Bavarian pretzels, mashed potato balls, calamari and sauerkraut balls. And that's also the order I would rank them. The pretzels were the best I've had, maybe ever. The mashed potato balls would have been at the top of any other restaurants list, but not here. The sauerkraut balls were good, but not great and the calamari was also good. For our entrees, we split a patty melt, which might as well be called a party in your mouth melt. To die for. We also split the ribeye, and here's my story about that: 12 years ago, my wife and I were at Hyde Park in Columbus and I had to this day, the greatest ribeye I've ever had in my life. The problem comes, that I'm always chasing that ribeye. Every time I go to a restaurant, I debate in my head between the filet and the ribeye. And 99 times out of 100 I go with the ribeye. And 99 times out of a hundred, I regret my decision... Until tonight, IG does what everybody needs to do but only a select few are able to do and that's what makes the ribeye fat the best part of the steak. Somehow this place in a strip mall in Sprngfield OH does what every steakhouse tries to do, nails the ribeye.

The burger was fine but at the end of the day tasted bland and worse than something I could've thrown on the burner in a few minutes. The fries were really good though. Our server was friendly and actually talked a bit to us about the "best burgers in Akron" tournament we'd seen. The restaurant looked nice and felt upscale. But at the end of the day the price for what we got did not feel very justified. Felt overpriced for a mid burger and good fries.
