I hired Vicky Lu's to move my two bedroom apartment on Sunday, and I'm so glad that I did!! They made the move so much easier and were well worth the very reasonable amount of money I spent. The three movers showed up on the early side of the time window I was given, immediately introduced themselves, and made me feel at ease right away (and trust me, I was anything but at ease for the weeks leading up to the move). The apartment that I was leaving had a broken elevator, which meant a longer walk down the hallway to the working one with no complaints. The three man team got to work immediately and were very organized. They had everything out of my old place quickly and paid attention to detail while loading it all in the truck and securing everything. I was moving into an apartment in an old row house, and was told by the landlord that it might be tricky getting things into it with its old, small doorways and somewhat awkward staircase. This included potentially needing to hoist the queen size bed over a second floor balcony. Although Vicky Lu's said that this wouldn't be a problem if needed, the guys got everything into the apartment quickly and easily up the stairs, including the bed, my oversized dresser, and a couch that I was particularly worried about. These guys knew what they were doing and made it all work. It was also VERY hot and the guys worked through it like it was no big deal. They also made sure that my bed and dresser were put back together and that my room was all set up to be able to sleep there that night with minimal effort on my part. The best part, the move was done in just a little over 3 hours! It was also really easy to pay the online invoice using paypal. I have to say that out of 3 moving companies that I have hired for various moves in my life I have never been more impressed than I was with this group, and I am not easily impressed. I have had a very stressful sale of my house and then in turn move to the new one and that has made me a bit tough to deal with at times. I was a nervous wreck the entire time fearful that making arrangements by phone would mean that they would forget about me or that they wouldn't show up and I would be stranded. With this heightened anxiety I must have called/emailed them 5 times in 3 weeks checking in and confirming and I have to say they had almost a saintly level of patience for my paranoia. My arrival window was 9-11am and my estimate was 7 hours based on the information that I had provided them in my initial call, they arrived at 10:30 and the move took 6hrs 45 minutes. The team was so wonderful in getting my things out of my 100yr old farmhouse with narrow stairs and odd corners and even helped me disassemble a few things. They wrapped everything securely and on items that I was nervous about they took extra special care with for me. This is an awesome group of guys that are great to work with they were friendly, polite, courteous and truly did an amazing job all around. They price was the best of the quotes that I had shopped around for and I could have never imagined getting such great service for the price. I will absolutely use them again (I hope I don't need to) and will recommend them to anyone I can and I already have! Literally created a Yelp account just so I could review this great company! I recently moved from Florida to Maryland and once my Pod arrived, I was worried that I would not be able to move everything alone. Right away, when calling Vicky Lu's, Eugene was helpful and worked with me on a perfect time to come and get the ball rolling. He was kind, personable, and ready to tackle the task! The night before, my Pod door was jammed and they came at 9 at night to help me open it! The morning they came to unload my Pod, they worked diligently and quickly to get everything done in the time I had allotted (they didn't drag their feet or milk the clock). They were so helpful and even offered to come back and screw in some screws on my dresser and bed once I unpacked the boxes and could find them (of course, with moving being so hectic, I couldn't remember where I put them!). I will use this company time and time again for all my moving and labor services! And you can for damn sure know that I will recommend them and their great service to any and every one I know! I have moved WAY too many times in the last decade, and these guys definitely deserve the Number 1 Spot! They were timely with communication and on moving day. They showed up with plenty of guys and worked hard, and fast. We had an eclectic mix of furniture; some family heirlooms, some glass, some big and bulky. They disassembled what needed disassembling and took very good care of all items. I was a little disappointed that on "move out", I told them they would need to remove a bannister to fit a couch up a flight of stairs, and they chose not to. This resulted in a significant amount of paint being rubbed off the bannister. However, not to reduce their rating because they were back at my house in less than 24 hours to fix the damage. Small marks are to be expected, and even then I could hear them cursing themselves under their breath. These guys really do treat your stuff as if it's their own. Countless times I could hear them tell each other "careful", or "slow down and let's do it right" or "do it safe", or "fragile." My daughter moved from Pittsburgh to Gaithersburg. On Friday evening 5/5 i used the internet to arrange for Vicky Lu's to send two guys for two hours to unload our rental truck into an apartment the very next morning! For $240 it's was reasonable enough not to break my back. I told them to be there between 11-12. Frankly, i expected them to be at least 1/2 hour late. Aren't all these kind of services. Well, the two guys, ( really wish i could recall their names) arrived 20 minutes early! These two guys were careful and worked continuously. No cigarette breaks. The best thing though both of these guys were very nice and respectful. I would have been proud to have either one of them as my sons. Real decent guys. The whole thing was a totally positive experience. I will contact them for both ends of my next move. Class outfit. If you are moving yourself, don't bother trying to save a few bucks. This purchase was so worth it and i met two fine gentlemen. Oh and don't be a cheapskate. Tip the guys if they have done a proper job. read more

Marriage Saving and Back saving Service! I hired Vicky Lu's for a move from Maryland to PA. It was the smartest thing in the world to do. Vicky Lu's from the beginning was pleasant to work with, responsive and helpful. When they showed up on the day of the move, the four guys were ready to go! A happy, productive and well-mannered team. They are REAL movers! Knowing how to break down furniture and how to best stack it in the truck. They worked very fast and no pissing around. They earned every cent. I had even asked them to move some items for me that were not moving and without a question they did with they same energy. When we got to the new house, the unload went quickly! And they even assembled the furniture for me. Literally I went into one of the bedrooms and all I had to do was make the bed!!!! These guys worked 13 hours straight! Moving is dreadfully stressful, help with the stress and hire these guys! They are worth it. One suggestion - have some bottled water on hand for them. My experience with Vicky Lu Moving was superb from start to finish. First, Eugene came out, looked over everything I needed moved from Maryland to North Carolina, and gave me what I consider to be a very fair price. All this was done very quickly after my initial inquiry. On moving day Paul and his crew came out in a pouring rain and loaded the contents of our house into a 26' truck. Everything was packed with extreme care from the largest table to the smallest wine glass. They were never rushed, never cut corners, and were as agreeable a set of movers as I've ever met. In North Carolina Paul and crew unloaded everything into our new home with the same exacting care. Our new neighbors were amazed at the professionalism and courtesy of all the Vicky Lu folks. In sum, go ahead and shop around with other folks. But I just can't see why anyone would use a mover other than Vicky Lu. I know I sure won't. The guys were great that moved us, very polite and hard working in the heat! Few bumps on the walls but nothing crazy that we wouldnt have made ourselves. Managment was a different story. Would not confirm my move time or respond to me for 10 days. Finally heard from them 3 days before move after sending multiple emails and phone calls unanswered. Truck was supposed to arrive 2-4pm. At 230pm on day of move I noticed an email on my phone at 130 asking for my address. They should of had my cell and address from my quote. I immediatley call and they finally answered stating we had to reschedule for next day because they didnt have our address and overbooked.. they gave us a discount but my husband was unable to take off work to be there for the move, i had to be there with my infants. They stated truck would arrive 9-10 am. The next day they emailed me and said 10-1030. The truck arrived at 1130.. Stellar company. I hired this company at the last minute, one week before I was due to move from Frederick, Maryland, to Raleigh, North Carolina. I appreciated the flexibility the most. The owner, Eugene, explained every charge to me without any hidden agendas or fees. I was worried about encountering others due to the Covid-19 because I have very small children. These guys went above and beyond to ensure my safety. Everyone's temperatures were checked, as well having facial coverings and sturdy gloves. Called them 4 days before my moving date, The scheduling was easy, the pricing was more then reasonable, They called me the morning of the moving to let me know they are on their way.. Showed up on time.. These guys worked hard.. Fast.. Wrapped everything and disassembled everything that needed special attention. When we got to our destination.. I was pressed for time to move from my apartment. After going back and forth with my landlord I finally had to make the last minute decision to vacate my home. I called Eugene for the 2nd time and he confirmed my moving day. He and his crew did a walk through of my unit and told me how to box and arrange all the furniture in my apartment for a easy and effective move. Vicky Lu's combines the best price with great service. They moved my household items from Frederick, MD to Cleveland, OH for the best price available. Amazingly, all my stuff made the journey unscathed, except for an inexpensive small picture frame. Arranging for the move and payments was done through Yelp, email, and phone. Three movers loaded their truck, while two movers drove the truck to Cleveland and unloaded. They were careful not to damage any of my items, wrapped large items with plastic wrap and/or moving blankets, and when necessary disassembled/reassembled furniture. These guys were terrific when they moved all our furniture to a new townhouse. Punctual, cheerful and very efficient. They used four workers to haul and move in three floors worth of furniture. Very careful about not marking walls, and wrapped everything that was slightly fragile. They took apart bedframes and put them back together, same with a dining room table. It was all done, from location to location, within a few hours. It all cost less than we expected. We will definitely use them again if we have another need to move! read more

Vicky Lu's is a Frederick gem! We were merging households (one in DC and one in PA) to move to Frederick and had a series of moves. These guys were on time, friendly, fast, and professional.
