Opened in a former pizzaria, Vicky's Casa Del Sabor is a delight with a it's massive selection of empanadas and low low prices. They have a large selection of different spanish foods and everything tastes great. The downside is that they always take forever with their orders, sometimes 10-20 minutes over the time that was given over the phone. The place is also cash only, so be sure to either come in with bills in hand or you could hit up the ATM at the 7/11 next door. If you're in the mood for some empanadas, come and give Vicky's a try. Vickys is my spot, I'm happy I stumbled upon there one day, the variety of empanadas drew me in and kept me coming back. The food is amazing! I love everything I've tried so far. I order from the steam table all the time and have yet to be disappointed. Vicky can also make suggestions if you aren't sure of what dish you want. I found that mixing from the table is no problem at all, yes for the same price you can have a little bit of everything. This place is a little gem that is great for when you want a home cooked meal but don't want to cook. It has all the Spanish favorites, yellow rice, baked chicken, beef stew and so on. They also do a lot of catering and are always busy. They make some of the best empanadas I've ever had. I was in the area visiting a friend and found this spot on yelp. Walked in and I was greeted right away. I spoke a little with the owner who was very nice and easy to talk to. My girl and I were starving so we ordered a few items: (hawaiana, mac & cheese, Veggie, Jalapeno, chicken, & beef empanadas), I ordered a plate with Spanish rice, black beans, plantains, and brisket, we also got the nutella & banana and guava and cheese empanada. plus some guac. I love, LOVE me some good Spanish/Latin food. With the reviews I was expecting a bit more. My plate with the brisket was REALLY good. Out of all the empanadas I really enjoyed the Hawaiana the most. The mac & cheese one was ok too. I also enjoyed the Nutella & banana empanada. I didn't really care too much for the other empanadas. I did not like the guava one at all and I love guava. Just the ratio btw guava and cheese seemed off. Think there should of been a bit more guava. The main issue I had with all the empanadas were for some reason they were a bit more greasy/oily than I'm used to. Their guac was ok but I've had better. Honestly, for me this spot is a solid 3.5 stars. If the empanadas weren't so greasy it would of been closer to 4 stars. They give a lot off food. My girl and I have enough left overs for lunch/dinner tomorrow. I love a place like this where the people are so friendly. If you are in the area its a spot to definitely try.
