This is a gem of a place to enjoy! I have been many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The food and the staff consistency is excellent. It is a great place to have a relaxing meal either indoors or out. The Eggs Benedict is always a a favorite. They come up with many varieties and I am always amazed. There is never an item that is served that is less than superb. Regardless of ordering coffee or cocktails you will love it. In addition to our meal, we had a mimosa and bloody Mary's and were pleasantly surprised they didn't skimp on the alcohol. This is a gem in Bend you just can't miss. Regardless of where you are staying or what day of the week, it is an incredible breakfast. The parking is a bit of a challenge as it is limited by good design. My fiancé and I went on a quick walk and our table was ready after 35 minutes. The brunch gods were clearly looking out for us. I needed to rehydrate from a long boozy weekend so I stuck with water, but the bloodys and mosas truly looked amazing with many different flavors and sizes. If you are an eggs benny fan - you've arrived at your mecca. There's TEN benedicts to choose from and I landed on the hot chicken eggs benedict - spicy fried chicken, pickles, and slaw on Texas toast with hollandaise. What can I say, I can't say no to fried chicken. My guy went with the classic and ate it before I could snap a photo. I get it, some people don't live by the mantra Camera Eats First. That fried chicken benny was money (do people still say that?) The chicken was moist, crispy and slightly sweet with a kick of heat. We got here early and got one of the best seats but there is a better table that has a window that wraps around a tree. I think locals meet here for their morning coffee and pancake because several came into sit at the bar. I ordered their speciality Cyprus Eggs Benedict and it was way too much food with potatoes. Good but too overpowering with all the cheese and seasonings. I would recommend getting their regular eggs Benedict instead. The Victorian cafe is located in a repurposed old Victorian mansion on the west side of Bend. This cozy locals hangout resonates a new bohemian feel that one would expect to get in This sweet little town. At the cafe's entrance sits an obscure sign in table with a dual purpose as a makeshift mimosa bar.. This is an excellent way to smooth off the edge of hungry guests as the wait time usually takes a minute or two. Needless to say, we signed in and poured round 1 of at ultimately ended up being a steady stream of bottomless mimosas. When the time came we took the first available table, which happened to be inside the house. The table service is super quick at the Victorian. Our order was placed within 5 minutes after we were seated. I ordered the Victorian eggs Benedict and the bf ordered the California scramble with avocado. My Benedict was prepared with two freshly made English muffins which were smothered by a couple of fresh seasoned ground sausage patties, grilled onions, grilled red bell pepper, and two delicately poached eggs. And the best part of my Benedict dish was the fact that all was drizzled with an obscenely generous amount of delicious spicy Alfredo aioli. Another thing worth mentioning was the Marion, black, and blue berry jam which comes with a side of toast. OMG....this jam made my tummy smile! After not getting what the buzz was about for the Victorian after a couple of years of occasional breakfasts there, I stayed away for a couple of years. I went back in for breakfast recently to see what I may be missing. The answer is "nothing". FOOD QUALITY JUST OK / PRICES HIGH FOR SAME: There was lots of food on the plates but it wasn't particularly well seasoned. Also, the prices seemed high for what it is. Not high if you're counting quantity as the most important thing. But high if you're counting in quality as the key element. Both a vegetarian version Benedict and the eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast entree were bland. It was also disappointing in a town big on "eat local" that when my companion asked where the bacon came from (finding it not-so-great), he received an honest answer (good for the server) that it came from a mass restaurant supply kind of place. UBER LOUD: On every single visit including this last one, the music is just too loud. Way. And for my two bits, too pounding for tunes by which to eat breakfast.. FRIENDLY SERVER: Given the latter, we nearly pivoted and walked out after we walked in but for the friendly server, and here comes the good part, who could sense we were about to do that, caught our eye and called out to us to take a table. I've always been the type to be asleep by noon if I were to imbibe at breakfast, so the cocktails available with breakfast bit has never been a benefit for me. If it is for you, the Bloody Mary menu is available at the tables here. EQUAL ACCESS BARRIER: I could find it in me to give Victorian 3 stars given he server was a 5 star kind of guy, but here's what knocks the score to 2. There is no accessible entry here, in spite of several remodels over the last decade that would have made putting a ramp into the front door pretty easy and, arguably, required by Federal equal access laws. For the ongoing equal access barriers, which include setting up chairs in the accessible parking striped access area outside, for the owner's indifference, 2 it is. As the young army vet I met whose legs were severed in Iraq pointed out to me that since he started using a wheelchair, "sometimes I feel like the enemy for just wanting to get in the door". My family and I came here on a Sunday morning because we saw that it had good reviews. They quoted us an hour wait, and we decided that it was worth it rather than trying to find another place, especially since we are from out of town. After waiting about an hour and 10 minutes, we were sat in a very tight booth inside. We are not overly large people either. It was very loud in the restaurant and was virtually impossible to have a conversation. The seat back was loose and the guests in the booth next to us kept pushing into it, leading to my wife and I being shoved repeatedly toward our table. Not ideal. Then we waited another hour for our food to arrive after placing our order. It's no wonder the wait be seated was over an hour. The service otherwise was ok. I was ready to leave a negative review at this point, but the food saved the day. All of our food was enjoyable. Decided to land on 3 stars, as I work in the restaurant industry and understand that sometimes you just have an off day. If they can get the kitchen to crank out the food faster, they can increase their turn and reduce wait times, which would be a better experience for everyone involved. read more

The homemade, scrumptious applesauce comes as a side with chunks of apple. They've got larger than normal brunch cocktails too- such as mimosas and Bloody Marys. The Bloody Mary served here was most impressive and representing all four food groups! (See photo) The regular mimosas are a fairly good sized portion, and I'm not talking about the Man-mosa either! This place has a resident energy of fun and vibrance. As soon as the server came to the table, she kicked off the fun right away with her amusing sense of humor and personable attitude. She had our table laughing with her periodic visits. It's always a pleasure to be served by people who enjoy their jobs and are obviously having fun! Would have given a negative star rating if it was possible on Yelp. What an utter disappointment. I reached with a party of 4 to be told that the wait would be an hour and 20. Since I was just visiting and on a leisure trip I was okay with the wait. After waiting for an hour in the nearby town at which point the reservation app told me that I have a 5 min wait, I had to wait another 30 mins at the restaurant. In inquiring with the hostess I was told they haven't "found" a table. After another 20 min wait the hostess returns to tell us that all they could give us, a party of 4, a table for two. The pretty evident issue that the staff had with our group, since it comprised of ethnically diverse people is what after that wait completely pissed us off and had to leave. Would suggest having at least one Non-POC to get even an ounce of basic decent communication at this place. Add to that the food at some of the tables didn't even look appealing just tells me a lot about this place. Highly recommend the staff on wait to travel and see the world if they're gonna look at others with a sense of disgust to say the least! read more

The best thing about this place, since it's small and very busy on weekends, is how they set up the waiting game. Good food, but not worth the wait in a competitive brunch market like Bend. I don't mind waiting 30 min to be seated, even on a Monday at 11:30, but waiting an hour and fifteen minutes for the food was pretty bad. I've worked in restaurants and know how it goes: someone calls in sick (or doesn't call in at all) and the rest of the staff gets slammed, and the customers end up unhappy, despite their best efforts. It's a tough business. Even so, our wait went unacknowledged, my benedict with duck breast was quite undercooked, and no coffee refills were offered. When the check came we asked for more coffee, and it never came. My wife asked for a side of something--sausage maybe?--that also never came. So, look: it was busy. Not crazy-busy; just full. And maybe the staff was stressed. I totally get it. I've been there. And so I'm leaving a solid three stars here. Especially because it was my only experience of the place. But I'm from out of town, there on vacation, and chose this spot to dine, and there's still a part of me that wishes there were some way the experience could have been avoided. By all means, go eat here. Really. The menu IS appealing, and I'm sure there are good days and great experiences to be had here. This was just my experience. Judging from other reviews, this kind of wait is not a new thing, and maybe it just speaks to a high demand (anyone considering opening a new brunch spot in Bend listening?), but it seems they should try something new/different for handling these situations. read more

Loved our breakfast here. To be honest, the scone we got was just so - so. But the rest was great. We got the chicken fried steak with the house potatoes, hot chocolate (amazing) and then a cup of fruit that had a wide variety of fruit which I thought was very cool (pictured). During our stay in Sunriver, I met up with a friend who lives in the area and has heard nothing but good things about this spot. So we decided to get brunch here, boy was it good! The wait was a bit long on a Monday morning -- 40 minutes. We ordered the mid-mosas, which is their mimosa served in a wine glass. They have a unique spin on the mimosa and instead of regular ole' OJ, they use this blood orange juice. Super delicious! I ordered their Victorian Benedict and added the andouille sausage as per our waitresses recommendation. This was THE best Benedict I've ever had in my life -- and I eat a lot of Benedicts!
