My wife and I come to Victor's for every birthday, every wedding anniversary, and Valentine's Day. Even on Thanksgiving, we've been to Victor's. We only live in the area 4 years, and most of those markers have been at Victor's. Their service is impeccable. Their food is incredible and reasonably priced given the quality of service and the food itself. Even the atmosphere is wonderful. It's not loud and obnoxious like most restaurants, where everybody in the restaurant seems to think it's a sports bar. When you're going to a fine dining restaurant, it's supposed to be civil and have nice conversations without getting ridiculously loud and disturbing other people's occasions as to why they are there in the first place. So Victor's gets an A+ when it comes to the atmosphere. We highly recommend Victors to everybody we work with at MUSC Florence. And most of the time when we have family visiting we take them to Victor's as well. read more

This restaurant is lovely . Located in a hotel it holds potential . Alas the looks outlast the food. We love she crab soup but this was like wallpaper paste . Tasted like pimentos . I ordered the small filet and it was impossible to cut . It was like it was the middle of something else . My husband ordered shrimp and grits and the shrimp were bartered and fried . This is our go to for a hot meal away from home. Tim along with the staff is warm, friendly, and most of all consistent! Live entertainment is a welcomed bonus. Love the salads, kabobs, flatbreads, pasta. While these are entrees I eat most often here at Victors, I've never had a bad offering; this includes Ms. Peggy's desserts, too. Ok Ya'll this place is the bomb :) Service is perfect, staff is friendly and the food is incredibly delicious. The drinks are out of this world lit. If you have ever heard you get what you pay for, then Victors is $well spent. We met the "Chef de Cuisine " tiny little young lady but WOW impressive young lady who has her act together. All the menu items are great and the weekly specials are delicious, my favorite is the Tomahawk. OMG, ordered it for the two of us and it was big enough to feed us and take some home. A very good meal in a very pleasant and relaxing room after a long drive. A very talented woman was playing the piano. We stayed at the Florence Hotel which houses the restaurant. The She Crab soup was delicious. It was cream based but not too rich. The shrimp and grits was excellent. It was a generous portion and beautifully presented on a bed of grits. The shrimp had a crispy pecan crust and the shrimp were firm and flavorful. The grits were equally good with a slightly spicy sauce. The pork chop entre was tender and flavorful with collards nicely sauteed with bacon. The recommended Cabernet wine was very good. The service was mostly good. read more

This was a great restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. The main courses were really great. We all had filet with shrimp. All but one was cooked as ordered. Overall great experience and I will visit again. I was disappointed in the creme brûlée. It tasted fine but literally was about a fourth of an inch deep in the very shallow bowl. When you have a bad experience at a restaurant, it's quite rare that their GM sends a personal email to apologize. It's rare that they personally invite you back to give them a second chance, and it's rare that they do any better the second time. These guys did. Wow. After dining there tonight, I've retracted my last review and changed it from one star to four stars. 9 months later. A new menu, and a new staff. Here we go: Prosciutto wrapped scallops Oyster rockerfeller She crab soup Caesar salad Petit filet with veggies and mashed potatoes Creme Burlee The service: Waiter was very professional and prompt. Courses were brought out in proper and timely manner. The entree: This 'Petit Filet' was exceptional. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful quality meat to begin with, beautifully seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The desert: I've always thought Victors cleaned house in this category. Was happy to see the same desert menu with the same standard of excellence. The wines: The menu was presented on an ipad. Pictures, prices, order button, etc...the whole 9 yards. Being a technology geek I thought this was really cool! Their 'by the glass' menu was exceptional. Moderately priced, correctly poured, and in the correct glasses (which says a lot for around here). The Sauvignon Blanc was a delicious New Zealand white, and the Pinot Noir was an authentic Burgundy. Overall: Highly recommended. Given the recent staffing overhaul, their assertive and unique menu, I would truly say Victor's is in a class of it's own on the local scene. To me it's worth the cost. I can't give 5 stars for small reasons, such as not having a seafood fork, shells in seacrab soup, forgetting to offer ground pepper on salad, and serving a world class steak with a blunt butter knife as a cutting utensil. The plating on the appetizers could have been a touch more elegant. $91 for myself including wines, desert, tax, and 20% gratuity. $146 for both of us at the table. read more

I always have a great time at this restaurant. It is very clean and the decor is beautiful. There is a wonderful patio area. The food is tasty and the service staff are wonderful. The Berkshire pork short rib dinner was the best I have had yet. The place in Florence to get a good cocktail downtown, especially a White Russian. Well done, keep up the good work. read more

My mother came in to town and we ate here. It was kind of hard to find, Google Maps was even confused, and the parking was slightly hard to figure out. But when I walked in, the decor was great, the lighting was great, it definitely wasn't sports bar and was very chic, and the food was delicious. If meeting someone or wanting to move your meal up a notch, consider this restaurant, which is in the bottom of a fancy hotel. We were on our way back up to NC and needed a lunch break for the two of us and our dog. I checked Yelp and thought that Victors might work well for us. I called and Leah picked up the phone; I explained that we needed to stop for lunch, and asked if it would be okay for our dog to lie under our table if we ate at the outside patio. She said "Oh, absolutely!" and let me know that she thought we'd even be the only ones out there, since the lunch rush was over. We found (ample) street parking in front of Florence Hotel and walked with our dog around the back through to where the courtyard patio was located. I ducked inside to let the hostess know we were there, and she kindly brought out two lunch menus for us. She did seem a bit out of it, but not at all impolite or unwelcoming. Happily, Leah turned out to be our server, and she was just as delightful and accommodating in person as she had sounded on the phone. I ordered the veggie hummus sandwich and a side of fresh fruit; the Boy ordered a small chicken caesar salad. My sandwich hit the spot! I recall tomato, cucumber, sprouts, avocado, and hummus on really good sandwich bread - a soft, springy, spongey white dough that was reminiscent of something Asian that I can't put my finger on. It was yummy, regardless! The generous fruit bowl had your standard honeydew, cantaloupe, and pineapple, plus a sliced strawberry to garnish. Tasted good, but do wish it had been organic. (I assume it wasn't since it wasn't advertised as such.) The Boy's petite caesar salad was good - crisp lettuce, good croutons, the right amount of dressing - and they brought him a small serving of grilled chicken on the side, which he said was just as pleasing. The highlight was the cornbread basket, though - YUM! Although a little oily, these little squares were SO good! Dense, sweet (but not TOO sweet), with what I think were little bits of broccoli? YUM. I casually mentioned to Leah that we were each saving a piece of cornbread for last (out of 6 pieces total), since it was our favorite, and she offered to bring us a little to-go box on the house! It was near the end of lunch and they had extra, and she knew we had 3 hours left in our drive home, so she brought out a little box with another half-dozen pieces or so to go. Definitely above and beyond, with a fun-yet-professional personality to boot - thank you, Leah! We were also able to get a bowl of water for the dog, and can't express how helpful it was for them to allow us to bring him up on the patio with us. We WERE the only ones on the (covered) patio, as it happened - which made for a very peaceful dining experience indeed! Loved it. The only reason this rating doesn't get 5 stars is because a) I haven't been able to visit multiple times to vouch for consistency or any other part of the menu, and b) I don't think they offered organic or local produce, nor compostable to-go containers. That said, this will definitely be our go-to stop if we ever get hungry during a road trip down 95 through SC! P.S. We didn't eat inside, but I did duck in to use the restroom, and the ambiance seemed quite nice, consistent with an above-average hotel. I was surprised that there were only two other groups eating inside on Labor Day afternoon, but the whole town seemed kind of deserted - so maybe everyone was at the beach instead? read more

If I could give it less than one I would. It's too bad. Having grown up in Florence it's too bad that a local restaurant that has great food could be so deceiving. We were in town for Christmas and as a tradition we met old friends here. Tonight they decided to offer us the special without disclosing that it was double the price of the same thing on the menu. I travel all over the world and have rarely seen a steak for that price. Once confronted, the manager offers a meager discount and implied that we could not offered to buy it. That's not the point, I will pay for good food but buying a whole cow on one cut of beef is unacceptable. I hope that the new restaraunts that are moving into downtown Florence will give Victors a reason to compete. read more

The hostess didn't give us a wine list. We had to wait and ask. The waitress was mediocre and hasn't improved from this summer. The restaurant wasn't crowded, she was slow and inattentive. My potatoes soup tasted canned and was luke warm. My husband has the crab bisque and said it was really good. I ordered a filet that didn't have much flavor, the sauce tasted like dish water. My husband ordered the chefs seafood ahi tuna and it was flavorless. He ordered coffee which tasted like it was the bottom of the pot, tasted burned. If it weren't for our company the night would have been a complete disaster. If the food was good or GREAT the prices would be in line, it isn't the case. It's time for this place to step it up! Just SO very impressed! Coming home to spend Thanksgiving with my 92 y/o Dad was made so wonderfully easy, and special by Victor's! The Thanksgiving buffet was delicious and perfect! But what made the event so much more wonderful was the way my father was treated by the staff. He moves a bit more slowly these days, and the offers to assistance, the friendly smiles and greetings - made him feel welcomed and part of the holiday festivities. Our waiter, Louis (Lewis?) was delightful and always pleasant and often anticipated our needs. Again - just made for a wonderful Thanksgiving for us all. I highly recommend Victor's to anyone in the Florence region - and if you're just driving down I-95, take the exit, you'll be glad you did! read more

We selected Victors because of the menu and the selection proved to be great. It is very often the case where the kitchen cannot live up to the menu but here the chef outdid the menu. We started with the fried green tomatoes a staple on southern menus but seldom done well. The presentation was ok but the tomatoes were crisp with a great sauce just spicy enough to add interest. We also had the seared tuna with wasabi a stellar presentation and wonderful for the taste buds. Our main course was Chesapeake Bass (Rock Fish) on a bed of risotto. The fish was perfect and the risotto could not have been better if we were in Florence Italy not South Carolina. The whisky list is very good and has three selections of Pappy Van Winkle 10, 15, 18 at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant read more

This is the cutest little gem of a restaurant! We stayed just the night on our drive down to Charleston SC and it was the perfect choice! First off, the interior design is beautiful. Every element was perfectly chosen for this whole building. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant. It was Southern and Fresh and Filling. For $20 the two of us had enough for 2 meals, with complementary fresh biscuits to start..we knew from the beginning it would be a great meal! The service/staff is also amazing. Let's go back to a time when Victor's was not very customer friendly. This restaurant has reduced the menu selections at lunch and will charge extra for a side, other than fries with the sandwiches. However, on the menu fries are listed with all other sides. There is no price variation shown on the menu. Your greeter/ hostess should always be welcoming and the most friendly person in the building as that is your first impression of what's to come! She missed the point! First, the pros: we ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was the best I've ever had. The rolls and butter were amazing. After the appetizers, everything went downhill. We reserved a private room for $300 (did not include price of the food, just the room). The waitstaff was very friendly but we barely got any service all night. Half of our party began filling their own drinks from the wait station themselves. The glasses were very small (kiddie cup size, as is usual in an upscale restaurant) and I received ONE refill in the nearly three hours we were there (things were that slow.) The menu was deceptive - I thought I was ordering grilled chicken breast only to get a roasted chicken leg, and another member of our party ordered what he thought was a steak but received some very thin medallions. Two steaks were ordered medium and they came back well done. One got sent back only to be returned raw and cool in the center. Despite the lack of service, gratuity was included in the check. read more

At the historic Hotel Florence, Victor's is a great eating experience. The restaurant and hotel are both an incredible place. The renovations of both places are amazing and well done, great craftsmanship and architectural features. The artwork on the walls are colorful and beautiful. All of these features are well suited for the delicious and unique food entrees. Had two meals there, and each one was wonderful. The burger was so good, and the blackened chicken salad is the best. A hidden gem in downtown Florence. Billed as a steakhouse, but offers much more to discover on the menu. We stopped in for a quick lunch on our way to Hilton Head Island. The atmosphere is upscale, but you can come as you are, even in t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. We both had the Grilled Shrimp Cobb Salad which came out fresh and fast. The salad is filling, but still a reasonable portion for anyone counting calories and it packs a punch of flavor with fresh greens, Bleu cheese, bacon, red onion, tomatoes. It's topped with five large tail on grilled shrimp and an avocado dressing that is light and tasty. Also, don't overlook the jalapeño cornbread cubes served warm...the perfect bite. Let me start by saying the broccoli corn bread they bring out as a complimentary appetizer is positively scrumptious. I don't normally eat bread, but I had a second helping. I got the four seasons salad- which had artichokes, shaved asparagus, mixed greens, shaved Parmesan, pine nuts and roasted peppers. It was $13 and came with your choice of dressing and either salmon, chicken, or shrimp. I topped it with shrimp and the poppyseed vinaigrette. Absolutely delicious, but it didn't quite fill me up. The waitress Pamela was attentive- a bit hasty with the check, my dad hadn't even finished eating yet when she brought it over. But overall very nice. The atmosphere was classy. I felt a little bit out of place with my cutoff jean overalls and T-shirt, but white or dark jeans would have been fine. read more

First time overnighting in Florence, stayed at the Florence hotel which is attached to Victor. I ordered the Omelets by design, they give you the option of picking 4 ingredients. My choice was Applewood bacon & provolone cheese, it's served with grits or hashbrowns(Cajun) & wire or whole wheat toast. We ate here while traveling to SC. The food is excellent. We ate breakfast. This place is in a place where there is a lot of construction. This place is nice inside. Bathrooms are very clean. The biscuits and gravy were creamy. The pancakes were very airy and husband really liked them. Staff is very friendly and attentive. When leaving the cleaning lady said bye and happy Easter.
