I have to disagree with the negative reviews. My husband and I have visited to just look around many times and bought 3 or 4 times. We have always been treated well, our questions answered, orders timely taken, calls when items were ready for pick-up and educated suggestions when we needed help. Surprised to see some of these reviews. I've been dealing with Victor's Lighting for many years and everyone's always been very nice. The one thing that is correct that many reviews are saying, is that when your orders are ready, they don't call to let you know, you usually have to call and inquire, and then you'll find out the order has been ready for a while. Our bathroom has a wall sconce that uses Halogen bulbs covered by a screw-on glass globe to prevent humidity from causing them to explode. Unfortunately, it was the tempered glass globe that exploded like a grenade sending jagged shards all over the bathroom. I searched the net for weeks trying to find a replacement before the Halogen Bulb was the next to go but with zero luck. In desperation, I drove to Victor's where one of their employees crawled through their miscellaneous spare parts to finally locate two of these unicorn parts. This put an end to our frustrating search and dramatically improved the safety of our bathroom. I note some past reviewers complained of poor service but I was completely impressed by the service I received today. read more

I was in the store the other day, great selections,but customer service is really poor and I am in the business of customer service. The manager or owner was in a bad mood and could not be bothered with questions and when asked his return was one answer reply like he could not be bothered. I felt like I was a bother great place to go look but I will never buy from them again there prices are high. read more

Find another store to go to! The customer service here leaves much to be desired and their return policy is ridiculous. I bought a $700+ chandelier here, found something I liked better elsewhere, returned my unopened chandelier and was only offered store credit. I went into Victor's lighting today Saturday April 1, 2017 to find some lights for my backyard patio. The store certainly has many light fixtures but the salesman that helped me for a short time was extremely rude. He was medium build with short black hair about 6 feet tall. At first he answered a few of my questions but in the very few minutes he was with me it felt like he was sizing me up to see how much I was going to spend. Then he abruptly left to help another customer. I waited for a while since I thought he had already been helped the other customer. After quite a while he came back to help me, he showed me one fixture in a catalog and when I asked if there where any others he said no, turned his back to me and walked away. After trying to find the right lights at the big box stores and Lamps Plus, I stumbled onto Victors Lighting on the Internet. I went to yelp to see the reviews and they were positive. Upon reaching the store I was overwhelmed at the huge selection and the fact that everything was operational. The employees were very knowledgeable and not pushy! Pricing was competitive too! I have driven past this business for many years but never needed their products. When it became necessary to get a new floor lamp to go with new furniture I decided to stop in. Before, I checked Yelp as usual and Victor's got some bad reviews. I want to change that. My experience with my wife was very good. We were greeted by Trish who directed us to the section we needed to see. Stayed with us as we wandered and looked. Help me get the measurements and I told her I would call her back. I did that. She gave me a good price and I told her I would pick up in an hour. She had the lamp out of storage, out of the box and ready for me when I walked in. Five minutes later I was headed back homel Being a customer service nut, I was thrilled with at least one retailer that cared. We love this store! Tremendous selection in store. If not in stock can order from available catalogs. Staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Naz is outstanding! He goes out of his way to assist you in finding the right item. We recently bought a chandelier and he assured us we would be happy with the purchase. He was right! The crew that installs the item is excellent and very efficient. We have purchased a number of items over the years and we always have been very satisfied. I loved this store for lighting, I bought an amazing chandelier from the manager Naz who is very kind and helpful. However, I am very upset because they told me to use their electrician to install my chandelier and he didn't show up every single time I scheduled him. When I called the store a very rude woman told me it's not her problem because the store simply "referred" me to the electrician and that he was not in store that day. Definitely not coming back to this store until they solve my problem. read more

Our experience with Victor's Lighting started off incredibly positive. The location has a wide variety of light fixtures to choose from, that fit all different styles of homes. The purchase process was easy quick and easy enough. We ordered lights on 8/19/2016, and were told we would be able to pick up or order in 7 - 10 business days. I called today, 8/31/2016, to check the status of the order--here's where we went south. Our salesperson took a long pause moment before telling me he needed to call me back. 10 minutes later, he called back and let me know we would need to wait an additional 2 weeks for the lights. The reason he initially shared? They were trying to save us on freight charges, and not enough was ordered. That sounded dishonest so I probed;the actual reason was that they forgot to submit the order. He apologized once and told us they would try to get our light in in 7 days. This is so disappointing as we went from a great experience to a disappointing experience, very quickly. I get that my experience is more of a one-off situation, and would encourage future guests to follow up the day after purchasing. read more

Wish i could give it ten stars. An amazing family run business. A huge selection of lights and lamps. A bit overwhelming but in a good way. Found a beautiful pendant light on sale and bought it within a half an hour. The gentleman even discounted the sale price another five percent so we saved 25 percent. We had been looking for something for our kitchen for at least six months. Hung it today. Absolutely beautiful. Store is highly recommended read more

This store specializes in ripoffs. Judge for yourself: I bought about $1,000 worth of light fixtures for a major remodeling project and had lots of troubles with several of the low-voltage halogen lights (don't buy them, but thats another story). Two of the transformers have blown. A couple of days ago I went in asking about a replacement. He called me back and said since I was a previous customer he was able to get a "good deal" from the supplier, for "only" $75. That seemed a little steep for a chunk of metal and wire made in China, so I looked online and found the EXACT same thing for $18 (plus $6 shipping). I don't mind paying a fair markup for local service, but that was amazing. I will never set foot in their store again. read more

Went to Victor's lighting on a highly recommendation from my contractor my wife and I walked in on Monday 4/16/18 around 1ish one employee on the computer another stocking on the floor and the middle aged female behind the counter saw the both of us walk in and just looked eye to eye at us and didn't say anything As my wife walked around in the store looking for two light bars for our bathroom I looked around to find a chair to sit in and the female salesperson saw me again eye to eye just stood there without any movement or greeting of any kind behind the counter when I walked around and found a chair , while my wife was browsing for the bathroom light bars on my way to the chair this female employee saw me again without any movement or acknowledgement or any courtesy greetings when I sat down in the chair a few minutes later a couple walked in the entrance and you can hear this female employee greet the couple with hello how are you doing, can I help you with anything and do you know what you're looking for. My wife said she was overwhelmed with the nice looking lights and I told her I'm not spending any money here when there's a salesperson that ignored us entering and greeting a couple with enthusiasm for a sale after we enter this store. I guess you have to be a trump look alike to get courtesy service at this store. I will continue and return my business to Light Blubs etc in the city of Montclair on 8760 central ave 91763 where they treat customers with dignity and respect no matter what ethic or assumed income BRACKET one falls in. Looking at other reviews I'm not the only one that has feelings about Victors Lightings professionalism customers service needs a lot of improvements and the female salesperson that was on the clock at this time and day needs a lot of training I know these reviews have little affect with this middle aged sales lady but she lost a customer and a sale. TERRIBLE customer service. Bad bad bad. They have a lot of stuff in the show room. If they don't have what you're looking for, you're out of luck. These guys are supposed to be the experts. They should know the lighting from their manufacturers. All they did was throw a couple of catalogs our way. We went ahead and marked a couple we were interested in then asked for questions. Well, when we started to ask questions, he and the other guy were very dismissive. They didn't want to get bothered with questions about shade options, finishes, etc. DISMISSIVE is the best word to describe this guy's attitude. The other sales guy was similar. He kept saying, what you see is what you get. He kept saying, "Just check our website...everything's there." I can tell you now. They don't all their manufacturers on their website. Such a jerk!!! He also said "They're made in China so you're stuck with what you see." Don't shop here is you want options or if you need a "sales person" to help direct you better. If you see an Indian/Pakistani guy, try to find another person if possible, or you'll regret it. He gives my East Asian friends a bad name. Too bad we drove all the way from Long Beach.
